I have used Illusions for my hair care for over ten years now and intend to continue. Why? Great service, quality cuts and perms, pleasant atmosphere, their approach to business: hiring beauticians and providing benefits, no tipping allowed, chemically safe environment, green approach to disposing of waste products. Friendly, helpful folks and quality products available for sale.

Illusions is such an amazing salon. I get a really great haircut from Rita, that doesnt look different every time I go in (Ive had this issue in other salons where the same haircut was inconsistent every visit) and I feel totally confident that I am going to leave with a good haircut. The salon is so clean and well-run, and I feel cared for there. Illusions gives back to the community as well, which I appreciate. I love that it is a non-tipping salon, which makes it easier to plan costs and they pay their staff a generous wage with benefits so they dont have to rely on tips. Unlike so many salons, there is not constant turnover of staff - they treat their staff well, pay them well, give them benefits, and what comes from that is a professional, loyal staff that stays. I also love that during Covid, when they were able to reopen, they took so many steps to keep both staff and customers safe. I will be so sad if I ever have to move out of the area and find a new salon!

I have been going to Illusions for about 20 years. During that time my hair has been done almost exclusively by Rita. She is very consistent. I have been very satisfied since my hair is difficult to cut. I know this because I had some very poor haircuts before I found Illusions.

Illusions hair stylists regularly learn new techniques, keep careful records of the way my hair is styled so a different stylist could take care of me. My stylist, Monica, is superb. I leave with a wash and wear hairdo that suits me, always looks good even after swimming, getting rained on, or wearing a hat all day. I love their policy of no tips. I know their stylists are earning a good wage, have health care, and sick leave. In a time of Covid, the salon is safe. I appreciate their care for my safety and the safety of their employees. I recommend Illusions highly.

I have been going to Illusions for probably more than 15 years. They always to an excellent job and are always willing to offer suggestions when asked. Its a busy salon, but they do their best to make an appointment for you , even on short notice . I really enjoy going there.

Illusions is a top notch, full service salon! I have been going there to get my hair cut and colored for years and I have never been disappointed. They are the nicest people from the management, to the front desk, to the hairdressers and they are always up on the latest styles and color. I would recommend them to anyone every day of the week and twice on Sundays - they are that good! They also cut my kids hair and do great with younger kid and adolescent styles. We have missed our hair appointments during the the COVID pandemic and we cant wait to get back in there and start looking our best again!

What really pulled me in to Illusions was the fact the stylists are employees of the company and receive benefits and have a no tip policy. I liked that and that is the reason I tried Illusions in the first place and I have not left.

Lovely staff and high quality service. The precautions taken for Covid are thorough and the environment feels very safe. Rita did an amazing job with my long, wavy hair. She took my input and gave me great recommendations based on her experience. I walked out with a great short hairdo. Overall great experience, this has become my go to hair spot.

Have been using Illusions for years. At first, I thought the no tipping policy was a little strange, but it actually makes sense. Yes, you pay a bit more up front, but I have consistently gotten compliments on the style and cut for weeks afterwards, the stylists are terrific, and I like knowing theyre well cared for. Theyve also handled the reopening phases extremely well, making me feel both safe and comfortable.

Illusions hair studio was wonderful! I choose them based on the google reviews and I’ll be going back. They were able to fit me in the same day and Anna gave me one of the best hair cuts I’ve had in a very long time. She worked with me to make sure I got the hair cut I wanted that worked with my hair type. And she was kind and enthusiastic, it was a really wonderful place. I highly recommend it.

Illusions COVID policies are exemplary: call from the car when you arrive, everyone wearing masks, temp taken at the door, immediately wash hands, limited clients all distanced, contactless payment, and the list goes on. Love this place, they will walk through the coloring process and give you suggestions as well as be patient with you on your color selection. I also like the fact that you have your own file so you dont have to explain yourself again when you go back and happen to get a different hair stylist.

Ive been going to Illusions Hair Design for 12 years. Quality, first class treatment always. Good music, but not too loud. Friendly, relaxing atmosphere. They offer fresh coffee or tea while getting hair done. I get a cut, color/gloss and always happy with the results. I wasnt sure how dark I wanted to go with my hair and they worked with me until I found the look I was going for. I wont go any place else.

Michelle was wonderful! She gave me such a great cut — exactly what I asked for — and taught me how to style it, which I’ve had a hard time doing for awhile. She was so kind and pleasant to talk with. I’ll definitely go back to her.Also, I didn’t realize there was a “no tipping policy,” which is new to me.

I like going to Illusions because it is relaxing. The atmosphere is pleasant and calm. Everyone is friendly and attentive and professional. The hair care products they use are not harsh and, oh yes, your hair stylist will make every effort to do just what you asked her to do. And she usually does. Tipping is included in the initial price so you dont have that to worry about. Id recommend Illusions to all.

About 15 years ago I was looking for a salon/haircutter that knew what to do with thick curly hair that acts straight when its really short. I found Rita at Illusions, and havent looked back. Ever since, shes taken care of my hair, long and short, au naturel and colored (after the gray became irritating). :-) She also reassured me when it fell out after a life-threatening illness. (Yes, it does take about 9 months for it to grow back.) And she kept it looking good while it grew back. All the staff are very skillful and consistently compassionate.I left Seattle in 2018 (SAD to leave Rita behind). I was back there this summer and dropped in. In just a few minutes, Rita was able to recommend a new after-shampoo product that lets my curl bounce without frizzing. Thanks!
