I went to Dr. Yang for cataract surgery. I researched several surgeons and Dr. Yang seemed the best fit for me.His office staff was professional and friendly. Allison, Dennis and Andy were especially helpful.I was impressed with the care that was taken prior to my surgery. The surgery was painless and Dr. Yang saved my sight. He will be my Ophthalmologist from now on.I am grateful for his care and knowledge.

I had cataract surgeries done by Dr. Yang on both eyes. I am very happy with his work. The surgeries went well with no complication. I was able to see right away after surgery. Dr. Yang is an incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable doctor. He and his team helped me cope with and manage a rare inflammatory eye condition for nearly 2 years, and while I’ve seen numerous specialists, no one has come close to being as effective, caring, or helpful as he has. I found Dr. George Yang through a friend’s referral. I needed cataract surgery. My vision had been blurry due to cataract. Dr. Yang performed the surgery in Peninsula Eye Surgery Center in Mountain View and implanted the Tecnis lens. Before he scheduled the surgery Dr. Yang explained very clearly all the steps during the surgical process. He was very thorough analyzing my retina before the surgery. He explained to me how I needed to protect my eye from infection with the prescription ophthalmic drops, Prolensa and Inveltys.Surgery was very well done. I have been very happy with the results from my cataract surgery performed by Dr. Yang. I had cataracts removed in my left eye in 2013 and in the right eye in 2017 and both procedures went smoothly with no pain or adverse affects. I had the Toric IOL lens inserted to address my astigmatism and my resulting vision has been excellent without the need for further correction. My far vision is excellent and I am able to work at my computer without the need for glasses. For reading, I am perfectly happy to use a pair of over the counter reading glasses.

My first experience with San Jose Eye Institute was many years ago, when my GP was not able to determine exactly what was causing a problem in my right eye. He referred me to Dr. Decker, who was the primary ophthalmologist at SJ Eye. Dr. Decker diagnosed a condition that Id never heard of, prescribed eyedrops to treat it, and in a week, the symptoms were resolved. Since that day, Ive only had my eye care provided by SJ Eye Institute.Dr. George Yang has now been my primary ophthalmologist for over 20 years. His manner is knowledgeable, willing to explain things at length and answer all of my worrying (to me) questions in great detail. When it comes to my vision, Im one of those patients whos very picky and king of a perfectionist, in that I want my vision to be perfect at all times! I visited Dr George Yang,M.D as a recommendation from my optometrist Dr Shinmori. I was in need of cataract surgery and started with Advanced Eye Asdociates. Went through all 3 visits paid $ for every visit and scheduled a date for the surgery but was canceled at the last minute. Thank God I got referred to Dr. Yang and what a difference not only in their proffesionslity and great patient service but Andy was great in making sure I understood the complexity of my vision problems, Dr. Yang spent a minimum of 2 hours going over all the information and challenges I was facing with my vision. I am so happy that I did my research and found Dr. George Yang to perform my cataract surgery on both eyes. I must say I was terrified to have this surgery done but after being in his office for the first time, I felt extremely confident and very well cared for. All of my questions were answered and everything was explained in clear detail. I have never had such an in depth examination with amazing equipment. My vision from the cataracts had gotten so bad that even with my distant glasses I was unable to see anything clearly. Dr. Yang also corrected my stigmatism in both eyes and fitted me with the proper lens. Immediately after the first surgery I had 20/20 vision in my right eye. Two weeks later I had the 2nd eye done with the same results. From the first day I did not have to wear glasses any longer. I do wear readers but that is not a problem. Dr. Yang has a very caring and well informed staff. Also want to thank Andy for doing all my pre and post op testing before seeing Dr. Yang. For anyone who is as scared as I was, there was no pain with this surgery at all and the rewards are incredible. I would also like to say that the surgery center and staff are equally outstanding. In a stroke of luck I was accepted as a patient of Dr. Yang and together we have developed a long-term plan that has offered unprecedented relief. Prior to Dr. Yang I had been seeing a handful of eye doctors that continued to only offer momentary solutions until the next relapse. There became a cycle of Doctors who would prescribe the same drops as their predecessor and the results were disappointing. Dr. Yang broke this cycle and has been unmatched in patient care. He did a thorough original analysis and together we have developed a plan that has provided long-term relief. It is a good sign that the appointments I have with him are fewer and far between. I’m very happy with my vision. Immediately after my cataract surgery, whites seemed to glisten. I was surprised by the brightness in colors. Even though my cataracts were mild, it’s like someone has turned the lights on outside at night. My vision is better than it has ever been. When I wake up in the morning, I can look out the window and see what’s going on and I definitely feel safer driving at night. Nevertheless, there are risks, adjustments and adaptations related to the process, as well as a bit of mental stress. My experience has reinforced what were told to patients —that we should choose this endeavor when symptoms impact activities of daily life.

Dr. Yang conducts himself very professionally. I had cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The initial consultation was very informative as to what the pros and cons are to the surgery.He was also very patient answering my questions. He was very detailed in his answers. His staff was very helpful and courteous also.As for the surgery itself I think he is one of the best. Not invasive at all. Use local anesthesia (eye drops). Finished in about 20 minutes and didnt feel a thing. The day after I went for a follow up appointment and was able to see 20/20.I would recommend him highly if you need eye surgery such as cataract.

Dr. Yang is an OUTSTANDING ophthalmologist! I was referred to Dr. Yang by another physician and I was hesitant to see him because I live closer to Palo Alto so didnt want to drive to San Jose. However, I am so glad that I made the phone call for an appointment with Dr. Yang! He was very thorough with his examination and took his time to review my medical and eye history and provided a plan for me to improve my dry-eye condition.His staff are just as excellent, very professional and friendly. I am very fortunate to have Dr. Yang as my ophthalmologist. Dr. Yang has the most advanced knowledge of treating dry eye disease. My serious dry eye disease has been steadily improved after treatment by Dr. Yang. Lately I have had procedures done by Dr. Yang to remove the scar tissues from both my eyes. My vision of both eyes got back to 20/20 after the successful procedures. Dr Yang really change my quality of life. When I went Dr Yang I was blind in my left eye and very poor vision my right eye (20/50). Now I have 20/20 in my right eye. Before surgery I wore glasses with a strong prescription in them for distance. I couldnt see to read with my glasses on, and so read with my glasses off. My vision had been stable for over 10 years. Then in November 2016, i stopped being able to read signs in the distance, and the words on the computer became blurry. In January 2018, Dr, Yang diagnosed cataracts. In September I had cataract surgery first on the right eye, and then 2 weeks later on the left eye. Dr. Yang removed the cataracts, and inserted monofocal lenses. The surgeries were painless, and I was not sedated. I can now see clearly out of both eyes without glasses. I need reading glasses to read close up. Signs in the distance are not clear, and so I may need prescription glasses for driving. The surgeries were therefore very successful, and Im grateful that Dr. Yang could apply his expertise and do therm.

My first cataract was removed four weeks ago, and I chose the Symfony lens with distance capability. Three days ago, my other cataract was removed and replaced with a Symfony lens adjusted for near vision. Before surgery, I couldnt read street signs, do needlework easily or read with as much enjoyment as in the past. After the first surgery, I could work at my computer without tiring, read newspaper crossword definitions more easily than in several years and see individual trees rather than a green blur in the country. Now, with the near-focus lens, my vision continues to improve every day. I can read without a bright light, and Ive even reduced the type size on my iPhone. Over the years, my vision changed so much that I had literally lost sight of what its like to see clearly. I have been a patient of Dr. Yang for 10 years and have nothing but good things to say about him. He patiently explains every aspect of your issues and of the treatment he recommends. I have had cataract surgery on both eyes using the Tecnis Multifocal lens and am very pleased with the results. Some expected residual scar tissue was laser removed with great results. On 2014 I had cataract surgery on my left eye using the Tecnis Multifocal lens. I feel nervous on my left eye cataract surgery so the nurse gave me medicine to calm me down. After the operation, I can drive and I can see clearly without any eyeglass. The left eye after surgery was like a brand new eye and my right eye is still good for reading (nearsighted)After three years my right eye deteriorates and on July 12 decided to see Dr. George Yang and he suggested to have a right eye cataract surgery.
