I gave this place 5 star. Everyone is really nice and accommodating. They really put there patients first than anything and the way they show compassion to what they do for the people is so rewarding to see. So happy to have found this place for my dad after his stoke. He is really happy to be here every time especially the care that he gets and the people that work there are amazing. This is a place of healing!My 67 year-old husband had an ischemic stroke in early April, 2020. As he was learning to walk again, we asked our experienced Home-Health Physical Therapist about complementary therapies for stroke rehab, and she told us that many of her patients have commented on the great progress they made at Zhus Neuro-Accupuncture and Rehab Center. We went there 5 weeks after the stroke and wish we had gone there sooner (as it is best to get treatment asap! - they can even make hospital visits!)Acupuncture: Dr. Moyee Siu did an initial evaluation, watching and listening intently to my husbands specific needs. She has over 20 years of acupuncture experience, having studied with the reknown Dr. Zhu, and possess a deep skill set as she also offers Chinese herbs, when needed. With a variety of neuro-accupuncture treatments over the next month - both with scalp needles and with more traditional acupuncture on a massage table, my husband improved greatly. My moms been seeing Dr. Moyee after she suffered a stroke. The head acupuncture and PT combination has been great for my mom getting her mobility back. She has a long road ahead, but the team has been wonderful so far.

This place has excellent service. Everyone is nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. My husband feels really comfortable coming here to get his exercise in. The acupuncturist here are experienced and know what they’re doing. My husband had a stroke over a year and a half ago and he couldn’t do much. Now he is able to stand by himself, feels stronger, getting more confident, and walk with minimal assistance. The Daoyin therapist knows what they are doing as well as staying patient. Compared to other places, this place make us feel warm and welcoming every time we come in. I can’t thank them enough.

Several years ago, I had a headache every day that lasted for years. After seeing a handful of doctors, all they could do is diagnose it as a chronic tension type headache and offer me heavy medications. Going to Dr. Zhu’s office for the first time the improvement was incredible, and after following up on treatments it was completely gone. The other doctors I saw only understood the symptoms and offered to treat those, but Dr. Moyee Siu understood the root of the problem and was able to fix it easily.Recently I learned I have Multiple sclerosis. I drove 6 hours from out of town and stayed for a week and a half. I went from having a lot of trouble walking, not being able to control my left arm and leg well at all, running into walls and falling over things, to being 90% my normal self in 1 and 1/2 weeks.Dr. Moyee Siu and the entire staff are incredibly helpful. Our daughter, Diana Vu, has been diagnosing as an ataxia (unbalance standing and movement) and CP (cerebral palsy) since birth. During 15 years bypass, Diana went into many different childrens hospitals to search for the right doctors to help her to stand up by herself and walk on her own. But the answers were hard work in Physical Therapies, still slow and little improvement. Mostly we gave up and accepted the way of her life forever. Luckily, we found the Zhus Scalp Acupuncture treatments from the online YouTube videos with many related successful neuro-acupunctures that might help out Diana for standing and walking better. We came from BC Canada 🇨🇦 for my 18 yr old daughter to get her scalp therapy following he brain injury and stroke. Erin enjoyed the humour and positive ways that the therapists pushed her and they had a lot of fun, tho it was hard work. I appreciated the great variety of tools and methods they used to help Erin get her hand and leg working again.We both enjoyed coming every day. Everyone was so nice and pleasant and I felt like we were all friends. We will miss all the people, but especially we will miss DeAnna, Richie, and Long.We are grateful for all of the emotional support and encouragement we received.I thought Erin would be tired at the beginning until her stamina built up, but in fact she tired out after about two weeks of steady 2 hours a day treatment. I had planned to stay a month and we did stay a month but it may have been too long or too much.Erin has better use of her hand and fingers and is walking better without her crutch.

So far so good. Ive put a lot of faith in this and put all my eggs in one basket so to speak. I dived into the deep end and started my first session a few day s ago. It was only an hour and a half and I must honestly say, Im feeling results. I had a spinal cord stroke 2 months ago. I cant walk (yet) and Im in a wheelchair. I know that I have a lot of work ahead and Im ready for the fight. Ill come back in here and post again as I progress. Mental attitude is EVERYTHING. Dont ever forget that!

I have neurological pain, inflammation and swelling/chronic muscle pain in hands/wrists and feet/ankles, and have gone to multiple doctors in the last 3 1/2 years including acupuncture, with no results. Dr Siu is treating with attention to listening, taking careful notes, and patience in considering treatment plan, and although some of the joints are damaged by now (so still painful and wont heal overnight) the swelling is noticeably less after 3 treatments and I can close my hands now, and use my fingers better. My ankles are less swollen and I walk better. Its a long journey ahead but Im very hopeful and grateful I found this place through a friend who is doing her PhD in acupuncture. Its also nice to walk in and get such a warm welcome from staff when youre struggling with health issues.

I came to Zhus acupuncture, in a great deal of back, leg and hip pain, having never experienced acupuncture treatment before. I have had wonderful success!! The pain relief and excellent care provided by the physical therapist, Dr. James Lu, who is also a doctor of acupuncture is impressive. As a health care professional myself, I cannot say enough good things about the quality of care, responsiveness and kindness of all of the staff there. You will be well taken care of.

I am a C6-7 quadriplegic. I went to Zhus office for 2 weeks and feel that the treatment I received is well worth the time and money spent.The therapists and exercise specialists are knowledgeable and do a good job of creating a rehab plan that caters to your needs.

Dr. Moyee was a wonderful practitioner who really took time to listen to our wants and needs and customized her treatments to match our requirements. She went above and beyond the call of duty for my wife who was having speech problem This was the first time her speech got improved temporarily but would need more treatments for permanent improvement. She also showed exercises which would be beneficial along with the acupuncture treatment. Other doctors like Dr. Lu and other office staff were very nice. In short, this was a great treatment and experience for our family.

We go there 3 times a week, 2 hour sessions, and we have seen great progress. This therapy combines both acupuncture and physical therapy. They place thin needles in precise spots on the top of your head and various other spots in your scalp depending on your injury. They then proceed with PT exercises and the needles help with stimulating the nerves which have been damaged.I was very impressed with Dr. Lus assessment the first time we went. He seemed to easily pick out all the problems that the previous doctors had documented with very few details from us. I love how everyone remembers your name there. The PT techs are awesome and very friendly and professional. Deeana, the general manager, has been super helpful with the financial aspect and is a pleasure working with.

I had a stroke in February, 2018, and I was left with left side facial problem. Dr. James Lu was the doctor who treated me. Everybody at the center is really friendly and they do their best to make you comfortable. But Dr. Lu was something else, he is very knowledgeable, trustworthy and an excellent communicator. He was always explaining to me what he will do and what to expect. His wonderful attitude and sense of humor made the visits more tolerableI would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Lu in particular and to the whole team in general.

We came all the way from India. We are glad to say that my 9 yrs old daughter has shown a remarkable improvement in just 25 sessions. I had 6 months of physical therapy treatment with Dr James Lu for my frozen shoulder. My orthopedist told me it could take up to a year of physical therapy for me to recover. I am glad I did my physical therapy treatment here because Dr Lu is a very experienced physical therapist, and the clinic has a lot of physical therapy equipment that I am able to use. And of course they have one thing that most other physical therapists do not have - needles. The acupuncture effectively helped to augment my physical therapy treatment. I am now about 90% recovered, but recently lost my insurance coverage so I have to recover the remainder on my own. Thanks to my sessions with Dr Lu I know what I need to do to continue my progress on my own.

I considered myself very lucky when I found this clinic. I got Shingles in the beginning of March, Dr. Julia Kao treated me and within days, the Shingles subsided. I could imagine how awful the pain would be without the acupuncture treatment. Thank you, Dr. Kao!

My husband, Ralph Watkins, suffered a stroke in 2014 at the age of 83. A doctor evaluated him 5 months later and said that he might see a little improvement by 6 months but Dont expect much. We were referred to Zhus Neuro-Acupuncture and Rehab Center where he was evaluated by Moyee. She said that they could get him walking but did not know if his arm would be functional. Dr. Lu and staff proceeded to treat him for two hours twice a week. His progress was amazing. Eventually he was not having to use his wheel chair in the house. Then came walking up and down stairs. Soon we were able to walk him outside for a distance of 250 feet with a caregiver and having a wheelchair behind him in case he became tired. His treatment was halted at times due to a hip fracture and a shoulder fracture. As quickly as possible we got him back with Dr. Lu and staff because we trusted them and Ralph was relaxed and enjoyed his workouts. The staff shows much love and concern for their patients. They are all sincerely dedicated.

Amazing place with great friendly therapists. I have a Spinal Cord Injury L1 burst fracture. I was bedridden and on a wheelchair for over 10 months And then slowly progressed on to a walker and crutches. I have my rehab sessions with Dr. Sundar twice a week and I have seen remarkable improvement in my walking. Within 6 months I progressed from using crutches to walking with a single cane. Its been just a year but I look forward to continuing my rehab with them until I recover 💯

Pains in my shoulder, arms and hands are mostly gone. I just need to do my own exercises at home. Zhus Neuro Acupuncture Center is great, everyone is awesome. I mainly like the scalp acupuncture, capping and massage. I would like to try the physical therapy next time. Thank you for everything.

The people are great. They work you very hard but it is part of the program. They are very knowledgeable about a variety of illnesses. Besides my stroke, I developed a stiff neck from my hotel bed. Dr. Lu did a fine job of working on my neck, even though the cure was painful, he fixed it in one day without ignoring the rest of my problems.

Since I can remember Ive always had seasonal allergies during spring time. I was constantly taking antihistamines to relieve my allergies when they just pause them for a little while and doing all the home remedies i can think of to not take any medication so when I found out that acupuncture can help I gave it a try! I went for an allergy treatment 2 years ago and recently this year I had to comeback for another treatment! So for those two years i did not have any allergy symptoms! Until this year, and it was expected with the California drought being gone and the super bloom and my house being surrounded my pollen!! Anyway, so I went for two treatments just to make sure and Im back to normal now thanks to Dr. James!! He also hooked it up with some acupuncture for my lower back pain! OMG!! that all he did was put some needles in and I did some exercises that I could NOT do at all and It was gone!!!!! That was trippy! Like I couldnt believe it!! Since that was no allergies and zero lower back pain!! Everyone there is beyond nice and they take spectacular care of all their patients!!

Ive had ongoing back and knee problems for years since my first pregnancy with pinched nerve at the hip, swollen knees, lower back pain from two c-sections, daily lifting during childcare of 2 kids ( now 2 and 4yo) as well as lifting at work. Ive been miserable and been seeking help from chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, and physical therapy throughout the years. They all seemed to help for a short period of time but pain kept coming back. He is my savior !!Not only he is one of the most knowledgeable and personable PT Dr. Ive ever met, he is also very effective in analyzing and treating my long list of problems!! His treatment combined acupuncture (with almost immediate pain relief) and PT which consist of lots of conditioning exercises he prescribed. After several sessions I started to feel better and stronger. I started going back to the gym and losing the baby weight Ive carried for years. And the moment I ran across the park with my kids without any pain I was in tears!Ive never spoken so highly of any PT in my life (and trust me Ive seen plenty ) but Dr. Lu is the BEST PT and Acupuncturist Ive ever encountered. My wife suffered a significant stroke ~2.5 years ago which has impacted her ability to walk, talk and communicate. This is the 3rd location Dea has had physical & occupational therapy. Deas ability to walk in the last year, while being treated at Dr. Zhus excellent staff, has improved significantly. They definitely have a Can Do Attitude. I started going here, from Oakland, around 8 or 9 months ago, and I cant say enough about how great it is! I was recommended this place by a friend of mine and it has been the best decision I have made. I was in a wheelchair for about a year and a half before I went there and now im walking with a cane! Its been so great! Its a little far for me, but its well worth the drive!

Scott had treated me at another facility for arthritis in the upper vertebrae so bad I couldnt turn my head. So when I had a new, different problem, I looked for Scott and found him working now at Zhus acupuncture center. As always, his treatment was intelligent, informed, careful, and considerate. I always learn from him and come away feeling so much better. The staff at Zhus is also very friendly.

My dad had a significant stroke in January 2016 and I used Dr Zhus clinic to help him get back on his feet, walking and talking again. They are so much better than than a standard medical professionals where they dont combine PT with the head accupuncture. We believe the use of this combination was the key to success of my fathers nearly full recovery 4 months and 10 visits after getting out of the hospital. They are very good about caring for their patients. If you have a similar situation, I highly recommend using Dr Zhu and his team to get faster results as soon as you can. Their techniques work!

Over Thanksgiving weekend my lower back went into acute spasm and I could barely walk. My 89 year old aunt had to help me get up from my chair. I felt crippled. I was lucky Zhus Acupuncture Center had a cancellation and could take me right away.At age 49, upon arrival at the clinic, it took me 5 minutes to get out of my car and stand upright. I hobbled into the clinic in excruciating pain. With utmost care and grace, Dr. Moyee diagnosed the issue, put needles into my head and lower back, and I walked out of the clinic feeling 95% better. It felt like a miracle. No pharmaceuticals. Only needles. I went back for one more follow up treatment, and I was better.I give them my highest recommendation.

I am giving my review of Zhu’s neuroacupuncture center, and I will try my best to provide a fair assessment. I believe that reviews can help both to provide some helpful information for future patients as well as some feefback and constructive criticism for the center to improve their processes. Of course this is an interim review and I will share my full review after my treatment is completed.I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy about 45 days ago, so I booked an appointment at Zhu’s neauroacupunture center. I have to say that although on average satisfied, I have had mixed experiences at this center, both good and bad. Let me explain:WHAT I LIKED:Dr. Moie is very skillful at what she is doing. I am sure she has had a lot of patients and has been able to help them to a great deal. At every appointment that I have had with her, she carefully assesses the condition of my face and the range of motion of my muscles, asks me to make certain facial expressions and provide more customized treatment for my specific case. One of the things that she does is to insert the needles in my scalp, and then ask me to repeat those facial expressions that I have trouble making while she wiggles the needles in my scalp a little bit. This technique has been helpful to increase the range of motion of my muscles. I would say we spent about 30 minutes each session on specialized exercises (that I will not explain for the sake of brevity), massages, etc.WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:My experience on my second appointment with Dr. Harry was very disappointing. I was paying about $130 out of my pocket and expected to receive a treatment more than what I can receive at a regular acupuncture center that is in-network with my insurance and I can use with a $20 copay. First of all, he seemed to be in a rush to get my treatment done. He wasn’t even looking at me when I was pointing to the painful areas of face and explaining my improvements at the beginning of the treatment. None of the specialized exercises that Dr. Moie does happened. Instead he asked me to lie on the bed after a quick check, inserted the needles, and left the room. After about half hour he came back to take out the needles, massaged my face for about 10-15 minutes and the session was over!My fourth treatment was not a bit frustrating. I booked an appointment in the morning, which later I realized I shouldn’t have done. In the morning the center is having a lot of patients and things are kind of hectic. First of all my treatment with Dr. Moie started over half an hour late because she was busy with another patient. Furthermore, she was not able to do the entire session, perhaps because of another patent she had to take care of, and Dr. Harry was sent to take out the needles at the end of the treatment and let me go home.What else? I guess the center needs to be a bit more clear and transparent about what they offer.For example, I was told by Dr. Moie that I should need about 6 sessions for my Bells Palsy. Later when I asked her if she still thinks that I will be done in that timeframe she replied that she does know because she doesn’t “have a crystal ball”!!Another thing was that I was told was that the center offers “10 pack session with %10 discount”. Everywhere that means paying for 9 sessions while the last one is free. But when I wanted to get a pack I was told that I need to fully pay for ten sessions and the eleventh one is going to be free. That technically means a “11 pack session with %9 discount”!I will complete my review as my treatment proceeds.

I had a serious stroke with right side paralysis. I had initial therapy and learned how to walk again but was using a leg brace and cane when I was released from therapy. I went to Zhus and they had me walking with out a cane in one day. I continued to improve over time and was very encouraged by their commitment to helping me regain as much function as possible. I had limb trauma and dizziness (after fainting), that persisted for about 10 days before I learned about Zhus Scalp Acumpuncture. After the first treatment, I had noticeable results. Each visit my symptoms were greatly reduced. Sundar Sanchez REALLY listened to my descriptions and created a treatment plan specific to my condition. The wellness tips he added to the acupuncture treatment were fabulous (he shared URL links for additional care information). Ive already recommended Zhus Scalp Acupuncture, and will again.

My wife found out about this miraculous neuro acupuncture and rehab clinic, and I have been going for scalp and body acupuncture, as well as cupping and rehab for about half a year now. Doctor Sundar Sanchez is amazing. He is extremely dedicated to the well being of his patients and I cant recommend him enough. He works holistically in his treatments, attacking the issue physically, mentally and spiritually. Using his teachings, I practice qi gong twice daily and it helps with my flexibility and energy levels. With rehab, he pushes you so you dont have to worry about not doing enough. I also love how open he is to suggestions and he is always adding new knowledge to his already impressive list of skills. However the thing I love best about Sundar is his positivity. It really rubs off on you. Its because of his demeanor that I feel inspired to go above and beyond what I would do by myself.As for the rest of the staff, they are very friendly. Deanna is awesome and works with you to get all the insurance stuff sorted. She is incredibly patient! Also it helps that she is a huge Star Wars fan like me. Richie and Long are super enthusiastic, and I can tell they are really dedicated by the way they treat their patients.James and Harry are very knowledgeable when it comes to Chinese TCM remedies. Harry treats me in Sundars absence, and my other friend tells me that James is amazing with her son, who also goes there for treatment. I am so glad I found the clinic and cant recommend them enough. They are going to get me back to 100%. Feels more like a spiritual retreat everytime I go.

Excellent! The staff is very attentive to my specific needs. I have a very rare progressive neurological disease, multiple system atrophy, for which Western medicine has no trestment or cure. Moyee Siu is not only familiar with this devastating disease, she has a first-hand perspective on possible treatments for symptom relief. I had Bells Palsy and I came here to Zhu’s Acupunture after 2 weeks. Dr Harry and Dr Moyee really worked hard to cure my bells palsy and after 5 weeks I’m almost 100% recovered. I am now 47 years old and live in India. Most probably I have spino-cerebellar ataxia. If I do a genetic test, I would know for sure what exactly I have. But it will not help with any cure. My neurologist mentioned that allopathy has no cure for the condition.I went thru cancer treatment 3 years ago. The treatment made me extremely tired and I was encouraged to sleep more than to exercise and build up my stamina. The more I slept, the more my abilities to walk and day-to-day life degenerated very rapidly.With the realization of what I have now and with the clarity of hind-sight, a lot of things are more evident now. The initial symptoms of imbalance / voice-slurring started 10 years ago and has been degenerating. For the longest time, I thought all my symptoms were side-effects of the various fertility treatments I was undergoing. And then cancer happened. 3 yrs after, my stamina and muscle co-ordination were extremely low. On top of it, I developed lymphedema on my left arm - treating it took upto 3hrs every day. I would sleep and wake up without feeling rested. Naps were not helpful. I could not stand in one place without support for more than a minute or two. My walking was limited to holding walls to go from one room to the other. The number of times I fell were countless. My exposure to the external world was slowly becoming lesser and lesser because I did not like being dependent and did not want to see the pity on peoples faces for me.In the beginning of this year, I started seeing Dr.Lu. We got on a plan where I would spend 1.5hrs everyday in the clinic, 6 days a week. It took close to 3 weeks for my stamina to improve and I could start seeing improvements gradually around that time. I initially used a walker and started walking in the park by myself. Initially I was not able to move much. But as my stamina and balance improved, I was able to do longer walks and sustain my energy. I got to a point where I could comfortably walk with a walker for 2 miles in 2 hours in a park. But I could not go back to India with a walker because the infrastructure for a disabled person with a walker is very hard to use there. Around this time, I also started on aqua-therapy and found that activity to be a great complement to what I was already doing with the team in Zhus scalp acupuncture. My next goal was to be able to use a walking stick for my needs. This would be much easier to handle in India. Transitioning from a walker to a stick was extremely hard. But now I can proudly say that I can walk two miles in the park in two hours with a stick. In addition, I have made several achievements along the way - I can now walk inside houses without support of any kind, I can stand without support for half hour or so, I sleep only once in the night - no naps, I can step up/down minor steps with only my stick for support.I look back to just 3 months ago to now and how my life has improved for the better. More than the physical improvements I have seen in myself now, I am looking forward to a brighter future. The future is much more hopeful and full of promises. I am looking forward to further improvements. This has been possible only because of the entire team in Zhus scalp acupuncture center. They have treated, guided and supported me every step of the way. Deanna planned my appointments with various doctors so that I can benefit from their various approaches. Long and Richie worked me through various physio sessions. Their personal involvement and expertise went a long way in giving me the skills and confidence to cope with my symptoms and improve on it. Dr. Lu, Dr. Moiyee and Dr.Harry have each provided me with their acupuncture expertise in treating my condition. My energy / balance / voice is so much improved now. Dr.Lu arranged for a lymphedema specialist to take a look at my left arm. They came to the clinic saving us significant effort. The result is that I spend less than 30 min for lymphedema per day. All the doctors went so much above and beyond my expectations. I cannot thank them enough.

I found Zhus Neuro-Acupuncture Center online, when I was researching information on acupuncture treatments for Bulbar ALS, for my sister, who was recently diagnosed with it. I was impressed by what I read about it and called them. I was able to speak to Dr. James Lu who was knowledgeable, professional, patient and kind. My sister had 5 sessions with him and has already seen an improvement in her speech, breathing and weakness. Dr. Lu was wonderful. He is so skilled, and so caring, with a great bedside manner, and a careful listener.... a wonderful combination, very much needed in a great doctor. The office staff was also great. I have had MS since 2004 and had been becoming more and more debilitated as the years went by, mostly affecting my right leg and balance. I wore a brace on my right leg to help prevent foot drop and sometimes used a cane. Last May, a friend of ours whose son had been greatly helped by Dr. Zhu, suggested that I try scalp acupuncture. I was very skeptical that this could help someone in my situation but decided to give it a try. My first treatment with Dr. Zhu and his staff was nothing short of a miracle, he was able to re-establish the long dead pathway between my brain and right leg. Most people do not have instant results like this but pretty much everyone that I came in to contact with had some type of improvement. After a couple of back to back treatments, I went once a week for a couple of months, this knocked about 80% of the MS symptoms out of me, since last May, I have not used a cane or foot brace. Because I would usually go on the same day of every week, I would see a lot of the same people steadily improving along with me. Everyone in the office is a licensed physical therapist as well as an acupuncturist and the blending of these two therapies yields tremendous results. I began having symptoms of menopause including heart palpitations, anxiety, difficulty sleeping and low energy. After seeing my primary MD, and a cardiologist to be cleared for any cardiac issues, I was hoping my OBGYN would have some guidance. I was handed 3 pages of photocopied material from a medical book to read. My wife got shingles one month ago and developed postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) couple weeks afterwards. The typical symptom of the PHN is nerve pain. You cannot imagine how the severe pain is. It was extremely tough for my wife as the effected areas were around her neck and her head. She went to medical emergency seeking help twice. The medicine and pain killer drugs did not improve the pain. We had several normal acupuncture treatment. But it did not help either after the treatment. Fortunately, I found Zhu’s Neuro-Acupuncture center on a website. She started the first scalp acupuncture on Saturday, May 28. After the first treatment the pain level was dramatically reduced. She suffered such severe pain 4-5 times every day before the treatment. After second treatment, she had no severe pain at all. My wife had five session treatment by Dr. James Lu and one session by Dr. Scott Whitfield.
