Rude and prideful Doctors. Get to know your patients! I have been begging for your help but I have too give you an arm and a leg for you to barely understand my symptoms. I had a rude doctor scream at me at the phone too, when I was trying to explain my pain. As a doctor you ought to know the conditions of your patients, especially when I have been in severe debilitating pain for almost a year now and consistent in my symptoms. Oh and they misdiagnosed my low back. I got a second mri outside the VA and they saw I tore my annulus and have to get surgery, but the VA completely missed that!

I just had the best experience I have ever had in any hospital or clinic. I went into the lab didn’t wait more than 10 minutes. And the lady that drew the labs was super sweet and kind she knew I didn’t care for needles and she was the Most skilled phlebotomist I have ever dealt with. Thank you so much

A clinic holding sensitive records that requires a security check upon entrance. A multicultural staff that reflects the surrounding community. Quick and proficient lab services. Dedicated doctors who are probably overworked and underpayed. Public transportation will result in a long walk from the trolley station.

Primary care doctor took forever to get to our scheduled appointment. Her receptionist was also rude. Then they never called back to reschedule. Due to the unprofessionalism, I applied for a transfer of care. They took a week and mailed me a paper with no instructions, no envelope and no stamp.

I call for an urgent medical issue and I have to leave a message with a nurse. Then a nurse practitioner calls me back only to tell me I have to wait for a scheduler to call me. I wait and wait, only to find out the schedulers are out of the office for 4 days due to a holiday weekend. The nurse and the nurse practitioner both insisted my issue was non-emergent and told me not to go to the ER. I just dont understand why its so difficult to get urgent care within this VA system.

I have been taking my Dad to the VA system here in San Diego for a little over a year. We have been pleasantly surprised at the kindness and exceptional service we have received, considering the typical gossip about our VA health system. My Dad has gotten the best treatment and attention I could ask for. One of the biggest parts of getting good health care is being a good patient or patient advocate. Thank You SD VA!!

Havent had a bad experience here. The VA gets a bad wrap but I honestly have never had an issue with anything that I have ever asked of the VA. Of course I know that I have to schedule thing way ahead of time and that I HAVE to keep my appointment cause rescheduling will just start the process over again but as long as I follow those rules, I have been fine. The people here are always helpful and most of the doctors actually greet me with a smile. Thanks VA!!!

My comments go partly to Jasmine, who first of all needs to learn how to write, speak, and present herself; after that, I would like to address the service I have received from this organization. I used to live in Phoenix, AZ where I thought the service there was also excellent. This VA is extremely helpful, caring, and understanding. I am veteran who served for more than 7+ years and feel the VA has been more than generous to all I know who have had the privilege to utilize their services. Kudos to the VA in Mission Valley. Also, thank you for your service.

Great resource for veterans needing help with their benefits. Get the QLess app ahead of time though - you can check in so you wait less time to be seen.

My primary care doctor and his team are great. The behavioral health team on also great. However, the laboratory and the other services are slow and do not seem to care about much. The laboratory closes for an hour instead of leaving someone at the desk to help veterans they just leave a sign that says closed. So you have to wait for an hour or go to la jolla medical center for any labs. If you have to go, dont go at 12:00-1:00.

I have visited this VA Hearing Clinic several times and on every occasion have found them to be very professional, courteous, and helpful. The front desk, doctors, and assistants were a joy to work with. They all have great attitudes and clearly enjoy what they are doing, help veterans.Robert Edelbrock, Major, USMC (Ret.)

I am very frustrated. I have a sinus infection and cannot get ahold of my primary care provider at the Mission Valley Primary Clinic. I went through the advice nurse San Diego and Los Angeles April 16 who generated a message to Dr. Cameron. Dr. Cameron did call my phone and left a message but I was not able to answer as I am not allowed to carry a phone on me at work. I called the advice line again at 1000 April 17 and was told I would receive a phone call from the nurse. I left my work number for contact as I am at work. I received a phone call at 1400 from the nurse on my cell phone with a return phone number but no extension. Now I am on the phone again waiting over 20 minutes to talk to an advice nurse who is sending another message! Why can I not call and talk to the nurse directly?

I have been using their services for 20+ years and have no complaints. I cant say that about the civilian medical offices I use. The Nevins story about a dr suggesting finger in the butt for bowel problems is unbelievable, and I dont give it any credence.

The VA needs an urgent careMost of the VA_MV/VAMC doctors and staff Ive interacted with these past 20 years have been very professional and attentive to my healthcare needs.Hopefully the day will come when ALL vets (not just those a certain distance away) are given freedom by VA to choose who and where they go for medical treatment.

VA health care enrollment department is horrid. Waited over an hour for an appointment and was passed over because I used the bathroom when they called. They close their doors for privacy but then say you have to tell them youre going to the bathroom or you will be dropped to the bottom of the waiting list.
