This review is not to do with the people or the doctors inside the hospital.This review is concerning ER theres nowhere to park.Its hard if you park there for a second because you have a very sick elderly patient and you have to get them into the ER you dont have your own wheelchair you have to use the ER wheelchair you have to run all the way back to the ER grab a wheelchair and all the way down the ramp again hoping youre not in trouble with the police because you parked next to the ER grab your patient run them back inside the ER have somebody babysit your patient while you go park out in the South 40.Thats a huge problem they really need more parking for the ER.If youre picking someone up and theyve been discharged you call the front desk you hardly ever get a answer.If youre lucky enough to get an answer you have to wait for the patient to be brought downstairs to be picked up.You get in trouble if you wait in a circle to pick up a patient.I guess they expect you to be in perfect health and park in the South 40 run all the way inside just because somebody couldnt answer the phone to tell them youre there to pick up a certain patient then run all the way upstairs to grab the patient then get the patient take them downstairs Park them curbside in the wheelchairRan all the way back in the South 40 to grab your car get to the circle park your car run all the way to the front grab your patient bring him to the car.Take the wheelchair back run back to your car and hope you dont get in trouble by security of the police because your car is parked in the circle.Its absurd. You got huge parking lots most of the front parking lot now is for disabled and those are never completely taken up. Theres no short way of trying to walk to the front from the south 40.If you will have any kind of health problem your elderly youre not feeling well and you have to walk from the south 40 I hope you dont collapse before you get there.Its a mess and it needs to be fixed.

The People there the Staff in General were very Humanly polite an HELPFUL. THANK YOU

The building itself feels like an old insane asylum with endless wings and hallways that you can easily get lost in. The staff here is horrific. We now drive an extra hundred miles to go to the next VA.

Dr. Michelson has been my Primary Care Doctor at the VA Medical Center in San Diego since 2002. Without question, he is the most knowledgable, conciencious, caring, and professional medical doctor that I have ever met.Every time that I see him, I come away thinking how truly great it would be if everyone had a doctor like Jim.

Dr Imam Salem was my FANTASTIC SURGEON, GLAD SHES ALSO A PROFESSOR@UCSD etc.!!!
