Gem & Tonic is quite literally a slice of heaven in San Diego. They offer so many different and unique services with a variety of holistic practitioners. I’ve had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Heidi, Dr. Kaitlyn, and Carol for acupuncture/cupping/massage. Everyone I have seen has been amazing and I highly recommend acupuncture with Dr. Heidi. She truly has the magic touch with painless insertion and removal of needles. I am absolutely devastated that I am unable to come here on a weekly basis after moving from San Diego. There is no other place like Gem & Tonic. I have made it a point to try to schedule an appointment here every time I am in town. Adding to the serenity of the entire experience is the fact that parking is always super easy and they even have their own lot, a big plus for anywhere in SD.

This little place really is incredible. I just got acupuncture and cupping from Dr. Heidi for the first time today, and I feel a million times better! She is magic, and thats an understatement. And Dr. Jason is the best chiropractic doctor out there, I was going to him before he moved to Gem & Tonic, and I have to say I see why he chose this place. Its absolutely gorgeous inside too. Just check it out, youll see what I mean. :)

Wow!! I am so impressed with Dr. Heidi Keating. Not only did she seem comprehensive in a variety of facets, she took special interest in my gut health and offered an allergy test during my next lymph cupping visit. The cupping was quite relaxing and refreshing. And she is a plethora of knowledge surrounding how we as humans are so connected with the ebb and flow of Mother Earth. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to learn from her.

I love visiting Gem & Tonic. Dr. Heidi & Dr. K are both so dedicated to their practices, and the care they have put into creating this wellness center is undeniable. From top to bottom, front to back, inside out (...the same way they approach medicine!), the space is ideal for inspiring healing and beauty. There is a lovely, expanding retail section, an amazing herb wall, and designer details. Heidi is *incredible* with fire cupping and it’s wonderful to feel the grounding energy of gemstones during a treatment. I especially like the crystal ear seeds they offer... rather than walking around with band aid looking dots on my ears for days, these add a fun flair. ✨

Dr Heidi is awesome. I was super stressed and not sleeping well. After the first treatment I slept through the night and woke up the next day feeling energized and fantastic. It was my first experience with cupping, it is a weird feeling and you end up looking like you lost a fight with an octopus but, the tension in my back and shoulders was gone! Now I see her once per month. I cant recommend her services enough. Thank you Dr Heidi!

After learning that may high level athletes use acupuncture and cupping to help them recover not only from injuries but also to maintain their ability to perform at the highest level, I decided to test if it would help me. Year round I average 11+ miles a day (riding a bike, on canine/muscle powered scooter, hiking or running) with my Alaskan Malamute, Numa, On top of that, I play soccer on full size field on Saturdays, and soccer (small sided games) Sunday morning before going straight from soccer filed to a gym to play basketball for almost two hours (except now with the COVID-19). I added more miles with Numa since I cant play ball. It is fair to say that my legs were pretty much never fully recovered from the added physical stress of weekend sports resulting in Mondays being especially tough. Before the pandemic restrictions started, I decided to finally really see how much Dr Heidi Keatings services would help. After an exceptionally brutal week of hiking or running on the trails with a couple times more than 3000 feet elevation gain during the week and then on Saturday doing an out (hike) 4.2 miles and back (run) 4.2 miles, finishing the day by playing soccer for an hour and half. Sunday I did only an easy 3 mile hike in the morning before soccer and basketball, so the backsides of my legs were extremely tight when I went to my acupuncture and cupping test. Dr Heidi did her interview to find out what my goal was and had me relax on the treatment table with the relaxing music quietly playing on the background. She started with acupuncture and to my surprise I could barely feel some of the needles and others not at all. After explaining what areas each needle was affecting she left me with the music. When she returned she removed the needles and did the cupping part, and finished with relaxing massage. Overall the whole experience was extremely pleasant but the best part was the effect the treatment had. On Monday I was a bit tired but nothing like most Mondays. By Wednesday I felt fully recovered and the tightness was completely gone. Although I resumed my normal activity levels, I was still able to recover by having my normal light Monday even few weeks after the treatment. Still now (because of the restrictions) I feel great but will definitely make a monthly standing appointment with her once I can include the ball games or when the weather cools off and I can replace the games with more strenuous hikes and runs (Numa does not like to work too hard when it is hot). 😂 I highly recommend anyone who wants to recover from physical activity faster to contact Dr Heidi Keating!

Gem & Tonic is the most beautiful, peaceful healing center. I am so pleased with the acupuncture treatment I received there in the Amethyst Room. Not only is it beautiful and serene, helping me calm my central nervous system, but also very restful, rejuvenating & helpful for my health. Dr. Hofelich is a gem. Very professional, knowledgeable, intuitive, and skilled. I highly recommend this wonderful place! I also received excellent natural remedies. The space has a wide array of medicinals and herbal formulas and beautiful crystals to purchase! I got a labradorite stone and a skin ointment that smells divine. Thank you so much
