I’m usually skeptical about lifting at public gyms but I enjoyed my time here. The staff is extremely friendly and the equipment is always clean and organized. Perfect for all types of lifters (athletes, bodybuilders, etc.) and has multiple turf areas.

Sabrina did a fine job of taking care of me as a member and was responsive to my concerns. I am also a member at Planet Fitness and 24HourFitness, and Sabrina is the real reason why I joined this Anytime club during the pandemic shutdown while all of my other clubs in town were closed. Shes very friendly and makes you feel like you really matter a lot. Theres a lot upper-level management should do that she probably has little control over, however. This location is good for its all-night access but the memberships are a bit overpriced for the floor space and the amount of equipment in this small gym. The bathrooms and showers are private but small and have poor water drainage and your clothes dont have a hanger that keeps them from falling on the floor and getting wet. The club needs more machines and equipment, essentially, too. If theres another pandemic shutdown I will consider this club again because of Sabrina. Shes its best asset.

One of my two favorite gyms that Ive ever worked out at. Its not packed wall to wall with excessive weight machines but has all the machines and other workout equipment youd want. Everyone is there to work out and mind their business, but they are also cool and friendly. I always see people wiping down the equipment after using it which I think means you care about your gym. Good vibes!

Honestly the staff is great! Super friendly and amazing quality equipment. Super clean. Most gyms Ive been in Ive gotten anxiety but the gym has a very positive environment. Im very happy here. I cant say that for every gym Ive been to.

This gym is awesome, here on temporary business and Sabrina has been amazing to accommodate me. The gym is always clean and the security is also very comforting. Also it’s actually 24/7 gym with secured access which lets me go and workout whenever! It’s been a blessing!

Excellent equipment - full-range and good selection. Immaculately maintained 24-hour mid-size facility, conveniently located for Nenders, secure and viable bike parking, basic showers. Great place to drop in during the wee hours of the night for insomniacs.

I’ve had the actual worst experience with this gym and trying to cancel the membership. They claim for it to be ABC financials fault yet they trick you into a contract along with multiple hidden fees. 100$ A month for a gym that has little to no space to actually work out, or even AC for that matter. They removed the outside portion of the gym which the only reason I would go because it allowed for actual room to work out in the overcrowded gym. Waste of money and time, don’t sign up and get caught in the trap! Plenty of better gyms that don’t take your money and are transparent about everything upfront.

Easy set up. Great gym. And good quality equipment. All around, its a very good place to be.

Just walked into the place hoping to start a membership. After looking for help for a couple minutes a patron let me know that one (or maybe both) of the guys that were standing near the door were staff. Before I could even ask about starting a membership he told me that the staff was not taking questions or meetings and to try again on Monday. This was the middle of the day and clearly within the posted staff hours. The guy was a dismissive jerk before I could even open my mouth. I hope this isnt a theme at anytime fitness locations. The location looked clean and will equiped, but that guy will prevent me from trying this location again. I will visit another location and see what that experience is like before signing up with this company.

The actual staff at the gym are very nice and friendly. The facility is kind of small, but nice. The pain is their partner or parent company ABC Fitness Solutions. They literally wont answer your calls and make it impossible to cancel a membership. As much as I loved the staff and gym itself, the pain and struggle of having to work with ABC Fitness Solutions makes it not worth it. They still havent cancelled my membership.

I’ve been a member of many gyms over the course of my life and Anytime Fitness is by far my favorite. It’s just a great place to get a workout in, plain and simple!

Don’t sign up at this gym. Nobody wears masks in this gym even when it was mandated. Especially, When you try to cancel the gym membership, I had to wait an hour to talk to a rep, they’ll charge you a big amount to cancel and they’ll make you send an email to their corporate for reasons why you want to cancel. It’s terrible and time delaying. The gym is small and very limited equipment. Bathroom is dirty most of the times. I recommend to go to Chuze instead. Bigger, better, cleaner, and no commitment.

Excellent gym with plenty of equipment both indoors and outside. But the real value add are the staff and trainers. They have a friendly, welcoming outlook that fosters a positive gym experience. Working out here is the highlight of my day!

Very little equipment to use. The highest price gym known to man for lifting weights. Good if you are a beginner but can get very crowded because very small. Basically a good place to go to cardio if you want to end up paying roughly $100 a month after hidden fees in a 6-month contract.Those things obviously wont be disclosed and you will have to go in to even sign up for the gym and you will end up paying a large amount of money Overall for really what you get. If you need a place just to ride an elliptical late at night and dont mind parking behind a grocery store and this is the perfect place for you.

Just note that they are not honoring any sort of working out/day pass whatsoever. They have a blurb on the website that says they may not honor a 7 day trial but you can have a day pass. However, this just means that you can tour the facility and talk about the membership.It is pretty standard to try out a gym before signing up so I was a little surprised- I wish the website was a little more specific in stating that no passes or workouts are honored for non members at this location. The representative did not mention this either until after showing up.If you do go in, note that the entrance is at the back. There is so signage to indicate this, and it was confusing since there was no way to get into the parking lot unless you go around through a different way.No masks in this gym, not saying that as a positive or negative. Just a note.Other than those areas, I think that this could be a great gym. I was just not ready to sign up without trying it out first, but I understand the hesitation with covid. Just wish it was more clear!

They do not disclose the hidden fees and do not tell you the prices they make you come in they will sign the contract for you on a pad and you will later realize theres a setup fee and every 3 months theres extra fees so you could end up paying an exorbitant amount of money. Not much equipment not a lot of weight to use and can get crowded fast. The bathrooms are extremely dirty and stinky. Not worth the money it is four times the amount of any other gym in San diego. Extremely unprofessional and rude if you ask about anything and they say you are in a contract.

Was extremely surprised when I noticed my bank account kept getting charged with random fees by the gym. Very small and overcrowded bathrooms always stinky. The parking is in the back of some stores that made me feel unsafe because of the people hanging back there. The electronic key to the front worked only half the time and they followed no covid regulations. Was extremely happy to leave the gym and go to another because with all of the hidden fees I was paying $80 a month in the 6-month contract. Hardly any equipment and people in there walking around hogging it all up and not wiping anything down very disgusting, and unsatisfactory.

Good access. Always open. Indoor and outdoor facilities. Showers were nice. Clean restrooms. Good selection of equipment.

Needed to find a place that was opened 24 hours. This place is great! You are given a key fob that allows you to enter the gym at any time. Despite the size of the facility, there is never a wait for the use of the equipment. The restrooms and showers are clean. Andrew, my trainer is great! There are very few people who will accommodate such an early workout schedule.

I make sure I never write negative reviews because I believe if you don’t have anything positive to say, don’t say it at all. But, this is my one exception. I broke my arm and as a result cancelled my membership a month prior. However, I was billed again, so I called to ensure my membership was cancelled. Sabrina told me that I needed to bring in medical records which I’ve never heard of and is a violation of hippa statutes. When I was justifiably frustrated she scolded me like a child and hung up not returning any of my calls. I’ve never dealt with anything more unprofessional or ridiculous.

Very small, minimal equipment. The staff there are not customer friendly at all unless you are a potential new custom. When you are a customer, they NEVER answer their phone, and when I called to cancel my membership (which is month to month) they tried to make me give them a reason as to why I was canceling, as though if it werent for a good enough reason, they were going to ALLOW me to cancel. They said I had the rest of the month to use the gym since they had already charged me 4 days prior, and that my membership was canceled. Well come to find out the person I talked to on the phone was blowing smoke, because he didnt cancel anything, and they still charged me the following month.I do 10 outta 10 do NOT recommend.I there were less than 1 stars I would still be reluctant to give that little of a star.

Lots of equipment that is new and well kept. Indoor and outdoor equipment. Everything is sanitized frequently. Staff is friendly and helpful. The personal trainers are second to none (especially Will!). Rates are fair for monthly membership but trainer rates are slightly high IMHO. All in all, a great place to get in a great workout!

Great gym with a good quantity of machines and equipment for functional training, cardio and stretching. Also very clean, good ambiance and great opening hours.

I have had a lot of trouble canceling with them. If you don’t want the hidden cancellation fees don’t join.

Tried canceling my membership, but they will not let me. Always a catch even with the correct documentation. Also asked about the cancellation procedure before i joined, the person said she had no idea. Who doesnt train their staff with this knowledge unless they have something to hide. Now 4 months later still trying to cancel my membership. Communication with the gym is terrible. One lady there said she was going to cancel my membership when I called but never did, just a lie to keep it going. Ive sent email after email, phone call after phone call. So unless you have an attorney on standby, dont sign up. And yes I am a member unfortunately, duh, or I wouldnt be going through all this trouble to write this.

I was traveling and forgot my Fob so I was let in by a staff member. I wasn’t asked for any information which was odd yet convenient, but was looked at super weird by everyone I came across. It took me a bit to realize that NOBODY WAS WEARING A MASK but ME. Nobody was even pretending to wear one. I travel from Oregon where Covid isn’t super present, but everyone takes it seriously anyways. I was in San Diego, a major HOT SPOT, and not a single person cared, nobody properly cleaned their equipment after use, nor was the ‘staff’ enforcing any of the requirements posted around the gym. Seemed like they hadn’t been for a long time. The gym and especially the outdoor area was a mess. I expect better from AF. If you are going to make some sort of statement not wearing masks despite all your ‘wear a mask’ signs, keep your gym clean and sanitized!

UPDATE: David said hes going to refund all of the charges that were made since I cancelled. Will update again when I see the refund come through.I really liked this gym but wasnt going often so decided to cancel my membership with 3-4 months remaining in the contract. Ended up in a long email dispute where the ATF rep claimed that there was a $149 cancellation fee and some other cancellation terms that show up NOWHERE in our signed agreement. They refused to point to where they were in our agreement, continued to insist on them, and charged them to my card.I emailed the gym owner who confirmed that the arbitrary charges shouldnt apply but when I emailed about the latest round of charges put on my card I got no reply- its been more than 2 weeks. The charges theyve put on my card since I canceled amount to $278.89-- more than the remaining balance on the contract! A mistake is one thing but Ive clearly and repeatedly called out their errors to both the billing people at the company that handles their billing and the Point Loma gym owners and neither have shown interest in honoring the actual terms of our agreement.Im working through the credit card chargeback avenue and leaving this review to warn people of this company and this gym. Unfortunate as my experience with the gym was 5 stars until they tried to see what they could get away with.If you can afford to be ripped off to the tune of a few hundred dollars or dont mind spending hours of your life trying to get back money illegally taken from you, this is a good gym. Nice new gym with a small community feel. The owners are extremely friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the gym isnt too crowded. The machines are high quality and there is a new remodeled section that expanded the gym area. Avoid the crowded chain gyms and join anytime fitness!

I have found my new home gym!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING about Anytime Fitness Point Loma! I have no complaints and nothing but positive things to say. Hi everyone. I wanted to let you know that this gym lied to my wife when she signed up. They told her she could cancel at anytime and she has been trying for several months. She is still trying but they are continually giving her the run around while still charging her 40 dollars a month. She cant even get ahold of the gym by calling because the mailbox is full and she has received no answer. Think twice about this place before signing anything. If they have lied in the past they will do it again.

I am new to the San Diego area and recently went in to check it out. This was my first time at an Anytime Fitness facility and the owner David gave my friend and I the best experience! He expressed his passion for fitness and his gym as he took us throughout the facility, introduced us to the other staff members, and explained their different class and training programs. I was also able to use their Evolt360 machine which helped to show how much muscle and fat my body is made of thus helping me stay on track with my results. The gym is just as great as staff as it is very clean and organized! I am now proud to be an Anytime Fitness Point Loma member and would highly recommend this gym! ☺️👍🏼

Everything great for the machines, there gonna be replacing a punching a bag soon. The shower room are clean and maintain but heed of warning this gym is only doing 12 month contracts at this time.

I’m so happy I finally found a gym I feel comfortable working-out at. I love the 24 hour access I get with my key fob and how clean the gym is. I noticed when I signed up the employees weren’t super pushy and seemed to genuinely care. They also have so many tools to help their members get started. Not like other gyms where they sign their members up and throw them in. They really walk you through the process of getting started at the gym.

Anytime Fitness Point Loma has all the feel of a high end gym, without the high monthly costs. It is absolutely beautiful, not just because it is new, but due to the design. It leaves the warehouse feel you tend to have in many gyms and instead provides you perfect blend of spaciousness and angles, which allows to organize and enjoy your workout. The colors of this place really pop too. I never thought I’d say this about a gym, but I wish my bathrooms looked like theirs. The stone tiling looks like that of a high end restaurant.They’ve done a great job with the nuts and bolts too:-Towel service-Clean-Hydro-The staff and trainers I have met are very friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly professional.- Great cardio equipment with large TVs. (Plus they seem very aware of sporting and other events as I have walked in without having to ask to get the big games on while I work out!)Excellent spot, I’m very happy with my membership decision! 💪🏼

Very impressed with this facility. It was a chill atmosphere. Lockers were visible and easy to use, owners were super helpful and nice. There’s so many amenities( there’s 2 floors! ! ) The hydro massage was my favorite though!

A family friendly gym! I feel like I’m working out with my friends when I’m here. The staff is so helpful, knowledgeable and kind. I’m usually intimidated at most gyms but the environment here helps me relax to get my best workout day in and day out. I get the motivation that I so desperately need. Thank you Anytime Fitness!

I have always gone to big gyms but I am enjoying this little gym. Modern enough to make up for what the big gyms have but. Rarely crowded and feels like a private place.

Love this new gym! All new everything, owners are very hands on. My favorite is the studio room where you select your own workout and time and it will play for you on a screen that comes down. Excited to get back in shape at a brand new gym!

Honestly I love this gym it’s so close to my work, and it’s a nice relaxed place. EXCEPT!! When I joined I was super happy about the private showers, but now after doing three days a week it’s the worst part of the gym. They only have two showers and I risk being late to work because I don’t have a place to shower when they are both in use. There is room to add a third and I was just told during their planned remodel that they will not be adding more showers....This is where the review was going to stop, it was originally a 4 star review. I was going to add that it’s something I really wish they would change. But than today as I am writing this, I found out that no one was in the 2nd shower, but a bag, wallet and keys where. So I looked in the shower no one was there fallen thankfully. I alert the trainer, that is the only employee here as far as I can tell, and he tells me he is going to call someone? That doesn’t free up the shower. I also just waited 12 minutes for a shower only to find out that a gym member wasn’t even using the shower. As I walk back the owner of the stuff has shown up, he tell the other girl, he placed his stuff in the shower closed the door than said he “wanted to get a few more reps in” and went back to working out while blocking the shower for other members. Myself and another girl are waiting for a shower and it’s being taken by someone not even using it. I told the member I felt like that was rude of him and he told me so was my Attitude, what? I am rude because I am upset you took a shower and wasn’t even using it?When I told the trainer what was happening he blew it off. Granted the trainer was in the middle of a paid session with other members, but what just happened? Did I really wait for a shower that wasn’t in use, but had someone’s stuff in there and a closed door? And when I pointed out how messed up that was I don’t have an employee or management on my side and was told I am the rude one but the someone in the wrong? This went from a 4 star review to a 2 all in a few minutes. I wasted 12 minutes for an open shower that was being blocked. What’s going to stop this from happening in the future? Will there be any actions brought against this member? Do I need to move gyms because I am the problem? This was not the way I thought my midweek workout would end.The owner called me after this post. Told me that they talked to the member and assured me this wouldnt be a problem in the future. And apologized about what happen, I know they cant control how everything goes down and I was impressed they told me they were able to find the member with video. He also told me that they are only permitted to have two showers and are trying to get more pending the city approval. I cant wait for that to happen.

Terrible gym. Will tell you that you can cancel your membership whenever you want but that is a lie. They will automatically sign you up for a year contact when their annual fee is due and refuse to cancel. Overpriced when there are multiple larger more equipped gyms within walking distance of this gym that charge less. No towel service though they will tell you there is and not very clean. Showers run out of hot water after a few minutes and people do not wipe down the equipment after using. GROSS

Its an okay gym. The gym is small, hot water doesnt last more than 2 people. The equipment is very nice though. I enjoy the virtual classes that they offer. I usually dont see more than 10 people in at a time.Update: they no longer have towels available after 10am..... Im about to cancel my gym membership.

I recently moved couple of months ago to San Diego, I was looking around for gyms. I found Anytime Fitness in Point Loma was opening in April and finally made the best decision to signed up for Anytime Fitness, after years of having a “gym” where there is not enough equipment with always broken machines to the point that I stopped working out.Moving to a new city and now been a member at Anytime fitness in Point Loma makes me feel motivated, I will have my workout, keep my routines consistent, feels like Im definitely going to achieve my goals!!I also want to thanks to David as one of the owner and their teams who gave me a full tour of the location. Thabk you guys, you guys rock !!!!I absolutely highly recommend to stop by and walk through and check at their classes, and have them give you also a full scan to analyze your muscle and body fat.

Awful. Club stinks of artificial fragrance (and hence phthalates, xenoestrogens, and other toxic chemicals), which is NOT something you want flooding your body when breathing heavily. I assume this is because they dont want to actually clean, so just release toxic fragrance in the air to cover up any other odors.Parking spaces nearest are too small. I was there a week and someones car was broken into, shattered glass all over that spot. Police were called another time.The sales guy named David will stalk and harass you if you go over the 10 or 15 minute shower/restroom time limit, which is troublesome if you have a disability like me, even if you go in during off hours such as 11pm and hardly anyone is there.Sometimes people will wait by the door trying to get in at night, which is spooky. No security or etc, you are on your own.
