Dr Berger is caring and very Experienced have been a patuent since 2005

I have been going to Dr. Berger for about 20 years now and he is fantastic! He listens to me and asks the right questions (sometimes the hard questions too, but isnt that want you want in an honest doctor?). I asked him a few years ago if a new medication on the market was right for me and he immediately researched it, discussed it with me, and then prescribed it. He is always gracious, honest, and looks out for my welfare. He is an excellent physician who has an exceptional reputation with every doctor in San Diego that I have ever mentioned him to. He is no push-over, but does his research and does the right thing. I could not be more pleased with him!

Dr. Berger treats his patients like family. He takes a genuine interest their lives and you can tell he sincerely cares about their well being. Dr. Berger truly listens and spends as much time as necessary with each of his patients.Next, you have his wonderful staff. The nurses are extremely sweet and personable. Very easy going vibe. And Ive never had to wait more than a few minutes out in the waiting room before being taken back.Dr. Berger and the nurses are just awesome!

I encourage everyone to take a different doctor I have had nothing but the worst experience with this doctors office. I have been prescribed medication that I can’t go without and it has been never a priority to the doctors office and the front has been promising to get my prescription refilled and date for and nothing has happened. I have called the doctors office multiple times a day Friday Monday and now today Tuesday and they tell me the same thing they say oh yeah we promise your prescription will be sent in today.. And it never it then when I called they either hung up the phone or they do not answer it for me. I have been so kind the first three days about not having my medication and today when I spoke with the woman she promised she would have it again for me today before she left the office well guess what everyone left for the day and I am without my medication again then they told me that I have not called and there’s more to the story when actually I have all of my phone record and the time to prove that I was complicating with someone. I just advise any and everyone who takes their health very seriously not to go to this office IT doesn’t even have a lab there you have to go to a different office to get any type of testing done which is very inconvenient as well. However I will say the very first time I met with everyone at the office they were wonderful gave me a great experience and made sure I left happy to make sure I came back again and ever since the first time I had gone basically just don’t care and are just worry About getting out of the office for the day never mind somebody is sick and they simply just don’t care to help

A very caring doctor who enjoys speaking about life in general and what sort of interest I have. At my first visit, I had some abdominal pain and he kind of guessed it was gall bladder issue. After a few tests and ultrasound, he was right. His referred me to a specialist and kept in touch before and after my surgery. I also enjoy the classical music being played in he background. His staff is also very nice to deal with. Also, he is very centrally located in Hillcrest area. Parking is a bit difficult with all the parking meters around the office. So, you have to time your meters correctly.

What a wonderful experience. Dr Berger is very personable friendly and professional. The staff is warm and gracious. All technical services were done with care and sensitivity. It’s like a step back in time from the herded cattle experience of most clinlcs. If this describes what you are looking for in a doctor and staff, then this is a great choice.

I’ve been seeing Dr Berger for years now. He’s inctedibly knowledgeable and friendly. His staff ya nice and the office is clean.I recommended him to my dad when he moved to San Diego and my dad is now his patient and a non-smoker after 35 years of smoking. Dr Berger is interested in your well being and truly helps.

I have had this Dr for many years before losing my insurance and I am trying to get the insurance to return to him. I tried different Drs and had a pill pusher and one who barely had the energy to even talk. He was always kind and took care of me with quick appointments and referrals when needed. Love him and his staff.

I have been going to Dr. Bergers office, since I was a young child. He is an excellent Doctor and it is always good to see him when I do go for a check up, or a physical. He will work to the best of his ability to get you well, and might I say, he does a fantastic job at it as well. I will continue to go there because I love the way he treats his patients.

He is very professional friendly and thorough. He calls you back with results from lab work on a very timely basis. I highly recommend him.

Dr Berger is very caring and knowledgeable. He has a straightforward approach has always been respectful and open to discussion on my health concerns. He has flexible appt times and the office staff is quite helpful.

Absolutely awful doctor. I moved to California recently and needed a doctor for my ambien prescription which I have had for over 10 years. I have never abused it and generally one bottle would last 6 months. I had the records from my previous doctor to prove that as well as recent blood labs to show that I have no history of drug abuse. He interrupted me when I was trying to explain why I needed it and was extremely rude and just waved me away. He absolutely refused to listen to what I was asking for. On top of that the clinic is in an old house and smells like rotten wood and/or a dead animal inside.

Dr. John Berger is a great Doctor. Very experienced, he cares, and gets straight to the point. Has excellent references to other good doctors and his staff is professional.

I have never had a more terrible experience with a medical professional. I recently moved to the area with my two small children. I had suffered a serious injury to my wrist earlier in the year and to had stop physical therapy during the move. I had fallen recently and reinjured my wrist. I called on Wednesday to get an appointment as a new patient to be seen by my new primary care and to get a referral for an orthopedic doctor.He entered the exam room and asked what was bothering me. I started telling him about my situation and he interrupted me with “well, I’m not giving you opioids, if thats what your looking for”I was stunned. I continued to tell him about my injury (mri, 6 week splinting, possible steroid injection treatments) and he then looked at my wrist and said ‘it doesn’t look swollen, so tell me, which ligament is it?’ Like he was testing me... he then left the room and came back with paper work from my previous doctor andsaid “we can’t help you here. You’ve already been prescribed painkillers.”Me “yes, from my previous doc”Him “and 30 pills should be enough for you”I then told him I was offended by his inflection and that all I needed was a referral to an ortho... in which he replied “.....fine” and left the roomI felt judged, I felt I wasn’t heard and my care was compromised. Stay away from the office, they are out dated, unsanitary, and judge mental. I plan on reporting him to the medical board.
