I have been a customer of Convoy Auto Repair for years! They are the most trustworthy auto repair shop I have ever used - I will not go anywhere else. I strongly recommend them for anybody needing repair on their automobile!

As a young woman, finding a mechanic that doesnt ignore me, talk down to me, or try to scam me is a challenge. I immediately felt comfortable when I walked into here and was greeted with a smile. Everything wrong with my car I received photos and a phone call telling me the details, and what they recommended. I couldnt have me more satisfied and hopefully this can stay my permanent place.

Suggested so many things need to be replaced simply because they were old even though they’re still working fine and are not critical components. They wanted to replace an entire power steering system because there was a leak. I took it to another mechanic that actually looked to see which of the four parts was leaking (a hose) and is going to replace that part only. Definitely got the shady sales pitch from convoy

Roman is amazing. He explained things to me took the time to answer my questions and assist with my situation. While I didn’t end up getting the repairs done there (dealer recall- a whole situation) I will 100% be back (hopefully not too soon!!) for anything else I might need.Mechanics tend to get a bad rap on trying to take advantage of the customer. You will NOT get that here. Treated like a person and felt very good about the information and conversations I had I tend To ask a lot of questions and Roman was patient kind and responsive.Again 5 stars all the way around!

Joe explained repair process at each stage in getting our 94 Ford Ranger AC working after years of not working. They were timely & professional. I definitely recommend them.

Very friendly staff with great customer service. I liked that I received an email with diagnostics on vehicle directly after inspection was done. Any questions I had regarding the diagnosis were answered when I called for further clarification. Pretty affordable for the work I had done, especially since I couldn’t do the repairs myself. Fast, easy, affordable and friendly.

Will explain in detail what they intend to do when they inspect and what they find. Very kind and fair. I always get nervous bringing my car in for issues. I have brought my car in twice here and they always made us feel very comfortable and fix the issue in a timely manner.

Dear Mr. Ely,We took our car in because of the check engine light P0456 code. We were recommended by CARMAX to take our car there. From a simple google search, we found out that it was a common issue with the vehicle and a Purge Valve replacement would be the answer. We left the car at the shop for the whole day only to find out that there was nothing they could do and wouldnt be able to fix it. We were told that there was a $120 charge to tell us what we already knew. From a business standpoint it was an easy $120. From the standpoint from a customer though, it is difficult to pay for something that wasnt fixed. If a Purge Valve replacement is the most common issue, then, we should have been told up front that only the dealer could fix it because it was under a 8yr /80,000 emission warranty. We should have been sent to the dealer first, so that there would be no charge to us. We have a extended warranty through CARMAX which we paid $1750.00 for with a deductible of $50. In this case, the warranty was worthless. So not only did we pay more than the $50, but, the car wasnt fixed and the check engine light was still on. We ended up taking the car to the dealership and it took them 2.5 days to put in the part that only has a few clips to install. The job per google search only shouldve taken less than 20 minutes. In summary, we would like to warn future customers to do their homework first to avoid this issue and giving their money away. Bottom line... If an item is covered under warranty, then go straight to dealer otherwise the customer will just be donating their hard earned money.

These guys are amazing. They completely rebuilt my last cars engine and made it even better than it was. The hours they put into it beyond what they charged had to have been enormous. Incredibly conscientious, they keep you informed every step of the way. Only one mechanic in all of San Diego was as good, in my experience, and he died. This is the only auto repair I need.

Had a hose connection break on a Saturday, dropped it off at convoy same day and left a early bird envelope explaining what happened. They called me early in the morning to clarify what happened, they called me back an hour later with an estimate that was under my expectations (nice). I ended up getting my car back just after noon fully functioning.The only complaint I have is that, because if the location of the broken part, coolant got everywhere in the engine bay and puddled in other parts which was not cleaned up and is now still burning as I drive. Given that I only wanted/ needed the one pry replaced I’m pretty satisfied with the repair either way for the price. AAA discount included

I had the oil changed, new air filter, battery terminals cleaned, along with a diagnostic test to see what else was needed. At a 60,000 mile check up - a lot could have been done; however, I opted to take one job at a time due to expenses. Texting was great ~ as I could click on the diagnostic link to see pictures of the truck and what needed to be done. I would have liked if the prices were included on the list so I didn’t have bother them to call for pricing.

I was having troubles with my vehicle, unexpected troubles and i called told them my problems and i was able to have my car towed and looked at. They usually only go by appointments only but they took the time out of their day to look at my car. Fixed my problem in less than 24 hours, and gave me a discount that i didn’t know i had which was even better because the cost to fix was cheaper! Will definitely be taking my car here for as long as i am in san diego.

I took my Impala in for an oil change. Convoy Auto did a thorough checkup. It had quite a few items failing. They showed me the problems, and prioritized them. I opted to get all the work done. Quick and easy experience with the exception of talking with the employees. They need to work on their people skills by keeping their comments to themselves. They pretend it’s okay to say something personal humorously when it simply crosses a boundary. I will not be coming back to this place because of that.

After spending 645.00 still didnt have ac fixed...overcharged for labor nd the diagnostic machine worthless...such a ripe off they were voted one of the best ac repair...ya not even..beware

I had my car towed to Convoy Auto Repair this week. I did not have an appointment and was worried about coordinating the towing since I was not able to go with my car and was at work. After speaking with Shawn and Joe, they were so helpful over the phone and handled processing my car and coordinating things with the tow truck driver when the car was dropped off. They kept in touch with me by phone every step of the way so I understood exactly what they were planning to do and they gave me estimated costs before proceeding. They went above and beyond. Awesome new approach to maintenance. CAR sent me a comprehensive inspect report, including pictures of what was wrong. Report included videos from independent sources explaining the details of the job. The report was delivered to me, for approval, before any work was conducted so I could decide what I wanted done. .This team is very professional, not afraid to explain the task, and has done quality work on several of my vehicles.

Incredible service! Despite doing the work to fix the problem, they did not charge me when it was apparent that it was a much larger issue and had to go to the dealership. Really trustworthy and upstanding people!

The cost of repairs were excessive as their attention to details was lacking. I had routine maintenance done on the brakes and had the clutch replaced. The clutch repair failed the first time. I had to have the car towed back as two lines on the transmission were leaking, one of them was crimped not allowing fluid to pass through it. A $1300. clutch replacement was done after spending $2000.00 on that repair only. The customer service was prompt and friendly.

Dodge V8 truck steering wheel wouldn’t turn any longer fluid all over the place. Whole hose, thread blown out had to be replaced. Finished repairs quickly, kept me notified with text notifications with details & pics from start to finish.Fair pricing. Convoy Auto Repair was able to make our 2010 Volvo feel as if brand new again. Their pricing on services are extremely competitive w/the dealership and I would say that the customer service is ten times better than that we’ve received at the dealership service department. Much of our conversations were with David, he had a lot of patience in educating us through the repair process of the vehicle expressing incomparable customer care. Give them a call and they’ll take care of you as if you’ve been a customer for ages.

We have been to Convoy Auto for many years. I think this is my third car they have taken care of. I did find they were a bit more expensive. The speaker inside my passenger door. It was $80 to take off the panel. The speaker, to replace, was a whopping $400. I havent looked up how much a replacement would be but oh my goodness I was shocked. Still good work as always.

My partner and I use Convoy Auto Repair for everything our cars need. Partners sister drove from Reno to visit and we realized her suspension was toast, Dave and the crew got her car in same day, and she is safe to drive home again!! They did the brakes on my sons Honda Odyssey van ( another same day job!) when they drove down from Canada!! And they looked at my Cousins car that is under warranty that the dealer never fixes so she and her attorney could argue with the dealership!!! Saving lives is what they do!!!

Quick and reliable service! Dropped the car off with them in the morning and picked up at around 1:00. Received calls for diagnosis updates and repair results. Both times (Transmission Control Module and Battery) was a great experience.

Brought my car in for an oil change and the man was nice over the phone and told me that they could squeeze me in (which I really appreciated). When I came in, the first man at the desk was very rude and the other man ended up helping me, but also was pretty rude to me as well.They called me an hour later and told me my coil for my oil pan was broken and that it would cost $750 to repair. They had already drained my oil. So I called AAA and had them tow my car to another mechanic and they fixed the coils and did my oil change for $200.I feel like they tried to take advantage of me and were very rude and acted like I was an idiot because I was a woman. DO NOT COME HERE!

Chose Convoy Auto Repair based on the reviews and was quite happy with the result. I needed an AC system recharge and a warning light diagnosis and they were very professional, quick, and not too expensive. Given the problems I’ve had with the Kia dealerships and their service departments I’ll plan on returning to Convoy auto for my needs.

Honest snd fair repair

This place is very honest which is the most important thing to me! Went in for an expensive water pump replacement which was diagnosed by me and convoy auto repair found out it was only the thermostat was leaking. It saved us money and made us very happy! Looking forward to doing business with this place in the future!

I feel like my car is in good hands with the guys at Convoy Auto Repair. As a female who knows very little about cars, it can be very daunting to go to a new mechanic. I have been a few times now to this mechanic and I can finally say that I trust them and the work they do. They have always been very professional, accommodating and patient with me (I have a lot of questions and sometimes need some reassurance lol). Their car pick up and delivery is extremely helpful and efficient. My pick-up happened on time and the car was back as promised. I was kept up to date on issues and sent photos of surprises they found for me to decide what I wanted before they did the work. You can definitely count of David and his team to do right by you.

Convoy Auto Repair has repaired and serviced my cars for several years and I can say without hesitation they are superior in providing class A service. If its simple service or a complicated issue requiring a wide range of testing and trouble shooting you can rely on them to keep you fully informed along the way, and at the same time making their best efforts to complete the work in the shortest period of time for a fair and competitive cost. On my last visit David gave me an estimate of a little over a $1,000.00 to repair and replace a lock and entry module. In the end he was able to complete the repair for $650.00.. These guys are good.

I always have great service at Convoy Auto Repair. The staff have always been courteous and helpful. They explain in detail what services they recommend. I have also found they offer very good pricing on the services they perform and have had no issues with any repairs or services they have done on my truck. They also use a great system you can utilize to keep track of past work performed along with recommended and upcoming service reminders. Great place, very friendly, and helpful staff help take a lot of the stress away when you need work performed on your automobile.

Fast and friendly service

Could not be more pleased. Took my car in because it DIED. The guys at Convoy took it right in and fixed it up. My car continued to have other issues, however, and I frustratingly took it back. They didn’t charge me one cent and when the issue continued to arise, they kept taking it back, no questions asked. Finally, my car runs like a dream and they didn’t charge me any extra. Seriously, take your car here. They’ll get any issues taken care of and won’t rip you off.

I dropped into convoy Auto repair for a second quote on my vehicle. The facility was clean and safed off very well. David at the counter was very professional and courteous and after dropping off the car overnight for an evaluation they provided me an estimate that seemed reasonable, much better than the quote from the previous repairshop. The car was ready for pickup the next day. I noticed that the check engine light was on when I got home and gave them a call, they said bring it right in and well take care of it and they did car works beautifully.

Brought a vehicle in for a pre-purchase inspection They’re inspection was thorough and informative. They gave us sound, honest advice and kept us from making a decision we would regret.

Good service and on time

Had work done on a 1998 Avalon. Very professional from the drop off of the car, paper work n pickup . I appreciated the way they were following suggested protocol in 6 foot distancing and sign the paperwork so there was no contact. They even provided a ride to n from while the work was being done. Very courteous.

Very thorough and efficient service

I was greeted by Joe and the intake was done by him on Friday morning. I got to meet Dave the service manager who was very helpful and patient on the phone several days earlier helping me schedule an appointment and getting an idea of what was going on with my vehicle. They had this wonderful man named Juan who is the shuttle driver. He is gracious, polite, professional and a great conversationalist. And a very good driver! My vehicle was fixed as promised and in the time frame quoted. I even got a little bit of a small discount for one of the repairs. I would sincerely like to thank Convoy Auto Repair for doing a thorough inspection on my 2014 Toyota Prius plug in. sadly lm in need of a AC Compressor, but they also told me that my lower ac hose was leaking. I had already was aware of the compressor because the Toyota dealership in Poway made me aware of this issue, however they missed the ac leaking hose. So even though I got bad news at least I know what needs to be fixed in order to have my vehicles AC be working in top shape. Thanks again, I highly recommend them to anyone who cares about their vehicle running in top shape!
