I have been a loyal customer at Nathans barber shop for 3 years now. After I had my first haircut with Frank, I wont let anyone else touch my hair. My favorite haircut was days before my wedding- Frank told me to block off an extra half hour and got it really dialed in. I also really appreciate how on time they are. If youre a newcomer, make an appointment and show up on time! Id recommend Nathans to anyone looking for a friendly, skilled, and professional barber.

My first Post COVID haircut. Been almost 14 months since the last one. I have probably been to every chain haircut business and several small independent barbers in the past. This hairy experience was TOTALLY different. Frank sat me down, we talked about what I wanted, he made some suggestions about length, started cutting and styling. When I thought he was finished- he started on all the fine detail work, temples, catching any stray fly aways. This was BY FAR, the best haircut experience I have ever had.. I will be going back regularly now to maintain this look

Thomas does the best job every! I show him pictures of the hairstyle my 9 year old son wants and the haircut looks exactly like the picture every time. I wont go anywhere else and hes very nice to his customers.

Im in San Diego for University and I was searching for a barber/hairstylist that would be as good as my hairstylist back home. This was the second place I went to and Im thoroughly satisfied with how I had my hair cut. Im definitely going to come back there especially since the haircuts for men are cheap. I only had to pay $13 but beware, as of April 2017, they only take cash, no credit cards. I have uploaded a photo of the prices for their various services. Also, its best if you call and schedule an appointment because they can be quite busy.

Very nice Beauty shop in the area! The staff doing the manicure was not professional. While doing his task, I could see that he was very professional and very friendly. Nathans has been great! Ive been lucky enough to get my cuts from Thomas and Nathan and both have been amazing barbers. They are efficient with their cuts and dont waste any time with customers. 30 minutes or less each time so you dont have to worry about being there a long time. Will continue going here because of cuts and price of hair cuts

Excellent barbershop. Ive been coming for several months now. Frank is truly a great barber. He has incredible attention to detail and is extremely consistent. I think other barbers here are also excellent. 5 stars. (I prefer to make an appointment and I appreciate that this shop allows for that).

My favorite barber shop in town! I originally heard about Nathans from a friend who recommend Thomas to me in 2016.I have been a returning customer of Thomas since then, and now I dont have to even say anything and he will nail down my haircut perfectly. I always tip at least 33%, as he is very meticulous. He will use a straight razor to trim up and always does an amazing fade. Every once in a while, I will switch up my look and he always translates my idea into reality.I highly recommend this barber shop to anyone who is looking to build a relationship with a solid group of stylists!

Brought my father in for a haircut. We did not have an appointment so we just walked in. They were able to squeeze my father in between appointments. My father loved his haircut. The barber was professional and meticulous.

I’ve been cutting my own hair for the past decade and wanted a change of style but was unsure of where to go. I was afraid of walking into a barber shop that basically only does two styles of hipster haircuts and sends you on your way, maybe you’ve had that experience yourself. A good friend recommended I go to Nathan’s, and I am so glad he did. I saw Nathan on short notice, he asked what style I wanted and I had a hard time describing it so he said “show me a photo”. I pulled one up on my phone and a few minutes later I walked out wearing exactly the hairstyle from the photo. Nathan totally nailed it! I will definitely be a regular customer here from now on!

Nathan is an unsuspecting barber with a comfortable demeanor. Dont let his humble barber shop fool you, you are walking into the den of a master. The care and quality Nathan delivers in his shave shows you he is a true artist. I never knew the technical skills, fearlessness and sensitive hands you needed to use a straight edge razor but Nathan expertly shows you how it is done.The end result is the best shave I have ever had. Now I know what it means when they say skin as soft as a babys bottom. My face has never felt so clean-shaven.Thank you Nathan.Oh, and the price is almost criminal. $10 for a world class shave. If you want a great experience run to Nathans barber shop.

The only place in San Diego I go to get a legit clip. Sweet Fade plus a straight razor shave for $35 bucks are you kidding me! Best deal in town. All around 5 star experience for a fraction of the price. When I deserve it, I go see Nathan. You should too. FYI - Make an appt. if not you may not get in.

Have been a customer of Nathan for years and he definitely knows his stuff. I have tried Fadi last time I was there and I really liked his haircut. You need to call in advance and book an appointment to be seen.

Good barbers and stylists are hard to find, and I struck gold here! I absolutely loved my hair cut and my barber, Belinda, did a fantastic job. She pays attention to detail and takes care of you for those 20 minutes. Be sure to ask for her when you schedule your appointment!

Ive been to Nathans twice with Thomas and Ana. Thomas did an excellent job figuring out what I wanted and gave me one of the cleanest cuts Ive ever had that allowed my hair to look great styled or when I was just rolling out of bed. Wanting to replicate it, I showed Ana a picture it and she proceeded to immediately do the exact opposite of what I wanted on the one part that I actually cared about, even though it was the only comment I gave along with the picture, ruining my part and making me have to wait until it grows out again to fix it

I live in downtown..I was late 10 mins because I use public transportation.I arrived and they already removed my reservation.And by the way I am new in San Diego and they told me that you should notify us but they didnt bother that I texted them before coming and were arguing that they didnt recieve the text.To give them the benefit of doubt, Probably they are so good they are arrogants!!

I went to Nathans for a haircut and a hot shave. I had about 1.5 months of beard growth that I wanted to get rid of.The haircut and shave were both excellent. They had a great touch with the shave.I didnt know how much it would cost going into it and was pleasantly surprised with how good the pricing was for both services.I would go back and do it again.

Ana does a fantastic job. Everyone is very friendly, establishment very clean. Nathan also a great barber. Compare to what around. Thos is the better place.

This is one of the best barbershops I have ever been to. I have ever been coming here for almost two years, and for $11, you wont find a better place anywhere. There is a reason appointments are always necessary. Ana is my go to barber.

I live near Nathans and have seen the sign that stated BEAUTY for years so I thought I would give it a try. They should take Beauty off their name. He did not list to what I requested, nor even follow the pictures I brought. He placed the chair so that he was comfortable, but my vision was blocked. All photos of suggestions were of men, none of women. I was so angry, I started walking home instead of calling my husband. I am going to go to Super-Cuts today to see if they can fix way Nathan did.

These guys are great! I stumbled into the place accidentally and am grateful. Real family feel. The haircuts are meticulous and stylish. I dont want to post a favorable review because it seems it is hard to drop in these days without calling ahead but I really respect and admire these guys. You wont go back to Supercuts or any of the other chains after a few visits.

Used to love this place. Kept going even though I live farther away and prices have recebtly increased. Had to go to someone other than Thomas last time and wasnt a fan of her work. Tried to go back today, with an appointment. However, the person who made my appointment made it for tomorrow. Sunday was never mentioned in the conversation. After driving an hour round trip and having nothing but a poor apology to show for it, Im finding a new barber.

It was so hard to find a good barber/saloon to take care of my broken/falling hair.Finally the search is over.After meeting Nathan, not only he took great care of my hair to every detail but he also dealt with all my unreasonable requests very professionally.Loved this place, to the haircut, to talking in greek, to meeting other great people in the saloon.Parking is awesome too, :)

In this day and age, I didnt think places like this existed- the barbers are master craftsman who apply the old world approach towards delivering modern styles- complete with the straight razor finish- Id expect a haircut like this to cost about $25- it cost me $12
