As soon as I interviewed with Home Instead I knew that this was not just another Caregiving company. This place really treats you like you are family. I enjoyed the flexibility of my hours as a caregiver, the training, and the praise/appreciation I received. The Home Instead staff was always so kind, friendly, and happy to answer my calls. I recommend anyone looking for home health aide experience because they provide excellent training and other resources to help you be successful at helping seniors in need.

From the day of my Interview in February of 2016, I have felt nothing but acceptance from this Company. This company does not make you feel like another number, they make you feel appreciated. I came to Home Instead with no professional experience in this field and very minimal personal experience. Upon hire, I participated in one of the best In-House trainings that I have ever been a part of at any new job and was given the tools needed to perform the job at hand. Home Insteads Orientation and Training boosted my confidence as a Caregiver with very little experience and gave me a Can do attitude. During my time as a Caregiver, I have either been given kudos for a job well done or been professionally coached in a way that promotes my growth in the Senior Service field. I have 24/7 support from the staff, if ever needed. I have learned so much in the field and from the office staff. This company has played a large part in molding me into the professional that I am today. Home Instead has provided me with so much joy and has shown me my true calling - to provide comfort, companionship and peace of mind to our Clients and their families.

Horrible. Negligent. The management is clueless and liars. When we hired this company for my grandmother with dementia we were INSURED each person coming to her house would have training and experience in dementia. That has been FARRR from the truth. Most of the time the caregivers come without any briefing or info on who they will be working with. Nothing is consistent and the one thing people with dementia need is consistency. They are constantly switching and some days there have been up to FIVE different caregivers switching shifts therefore worsening my grandmothers anxiety and confusion. Many times we have caught them sleeping on the couch right next to her. Two times they didnt even show up!! We could sue for these kinds of things. We have addressed these issues many times and they dont take any responsibility and nothing has gotten better. When we request the caregivers my grandmother bonds with and likes, they dont listen they dont have them on the schedule more. Instead they scatter them with different clients, different times and days all throughout the week. So, noone gets consistency. Not the clients, nor the staff. If you want care for your loved one stay away from this company.

I have recently contracted with Home Instead for in home caregivers for my husband who has dementia. Right away I was impressed by the professionalism, compassion and dedication of this organization! They have been extremely helpful and vigilant in finding good care giver matches for my husband. The care givers chosen have been wonderful! I feel the organization take my and my husbands needs into consideration and are very accessible. Communication is very important to me and I have been so pleased with their communication! I am happy and relieved to have their help on my journey with my husbands dementia.

I have been a Caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care for 10 months. My experience has been great! The office staff is very supportive and welcoming. For example, whenever I am assigned to a client someone from the office meets me there to introduce me and make sure I have everything I need to provide the best care for the client. They also provide 24 hour phone service so someone is always there to take a call. These are just a few examples of the extended support the company provides. All things considered, I look forward to many years of service with this wonderful company!

All the staff are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and sincerer. Everyone from the caregivers in the home to the staff in the office make you feel like you are part of the family. They know my loved ones name and needs and do everything they can to meet those needs. A true professional is available 24 hours a day to answer questions or make needed changes. When you have a question or need assistance, they are receptive and knowledgeable about what it takes to meet our customers needs. I cannot say enough about this organization. They helped me with respite care when my mother, who had Alzheimers, was living with me. I never had a shift that went uncovered or a person who was untrained show up at the house. The few minor concerns I had were immediately addressed by VERY proactive management. The caregivers went right to work with duties about the house and found more to do if my list ran out. I never had a person who was not caring and willing to work. I recommend them all the time and every referral has reported back with 100% satisfaction. Like I said, I cant say enough about this very professional organization. Very satisfied!!

My father is very happy! More than satisfied with the caregivers. He feels very safe and had other groups before that weren’t so gentle. They are friendly, courteous, & professional. We highly recommend this agency!

All the staff at Home Instead have been very professional, kind, patient, informative and calming. I fell relaxed knowing that someone I can trust is helping my mother with chores, self-care, meal preparation, and I love having the binder where I can review specifics of what services mom has received each day, what she ate for lunch etc. And prices are reasonable!I am confident this organization will be successful because they really care!

To Whom it May Concern:I am writing this letter to heartily recommend Home Instead San Diego office 158. I have used their services since 2015 to take my friend on outings. He was living in a skilled nursing home and didn’t have many visitors. Steve had cerebral palsy and in a wheel chair. I was not able to visit him very often and this office was recommended to me as a solution. What a blessing!Anytime a client works with this type of agency there are always two parts of care. The first is the office staff. Diana Hillaker and her staff are always very professional. The phone is always answered promptly and calls returned within the same day. I always felt like a person and not a number or someone who wrote the check. The office staff always worked to match Steve with the proper caregiver. I initially spoke with Diana for over 45 minutes, before she went to Steve’s facility to do a personal interview. Not many Directors would take that amount of time with an incoming client to assure a match.Over the years caregivers moved on. Before a new caregiver was assigned, Steve always had input. Most communication with the office staff was with Steve, a gesture I appreciated. I believe this helped Steve’s self respect and confidence. As Steve’s muscles grew weaker he needed more help and unfortunately he also needed help with toileting. This required a change in caregivers. Steve was very embarrassed but again Diana and her staff treated him with dignity and matched him with the perfect caregiver.The other part of care is the care givers. I don’t ever remember Steve having any problems with his regular caregivers. There might have been a few times he was a bit uncomfortable with substitute care givers or some one that was new. But once Steve called the office to express his concerns the matter was taken care of immediately.Another unforeseen benefit of using Diana’s office was I could call at the drop of a hat and ask questions for anecdotal feedback about Steve’s wellbeing. In Steve’s last year of life he started to fail mentally. His facility was not willing to communicate with me on a regular basis. I could call Diana and she would get information from the caregiver. Thereby giving me a gauge on his intellectual and emotional well being. With the level of training the caregivers receive, I could use these observations for medical appointments knowing they were valid.I truly believe without Diana and her staff my friend Steve would not have lived as long as he did. Steve was very intelligent and looked forward to these visits not only to get out of the dreary facility but to also have someone to have an intellectual conversation, see a move, go to a museum, take him for “real food”.When families are looking for solutions for care often there is a feeling of guilt because they have to seek help outside the family. I feel that the Home Instead San Diego office 158, would be the answer. Every person who Steve and I have had interaction with has truly demonstrated care and compassion. I have always felt like Diana and her staff considered it a labor of love working there instead of a place of employment.Sandy B.

Home Instead Senior Care has given me the chance to explore what I feel is the start of my calling. My job is like being apart of a big close family.

Our mother had a stroke and fell and broke her foot. She is now in need of 24 hour care for the next 2 months until her foot heals. Home Instead has been there for us, picking up the bulk of the hours taking care of her when we cant be there. HI has tried to send the same caregivers which we understand is not always possible, but each person who has come to care for our mother has been very kind and capable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is in need of care for a loved one!
