Dr. Maak is absolutely incredible! I can’t say enough about what a great surgeon he is! He has done 3 different surgeries on our daughters (2 hips and one knee.) Each daughter’s recovery has been awesome and they are all better than ever and back to their sport’s activities. Dr. Maak is excellent at explaining everything so you can understand. He genuinely cares for his patients. We won’t go anywhere else!

Recently had knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus. I was so impressed with the care I received from the surgical staff at the University Orthopaedic Center and Dr. Maak. They are the best! I was a nervous wreck being it was a SURGERY. It was so comforting knowing I was in such caring hands from his surgical team. My thanks to Dr. Maak for putting together such a great team! They are as good or better than the UTE football team. Thanks for your pre and post care being it was my very first surgery under anesthesia. GO UTES!

I had another doctor do surgery was still in pain, hip would give out. That doctor wanted to do hip replacement because he didnt know what else to do. Went and seen another very well known prtho he wanted to replace my hip at the age of 42. Mack is a doctor who takes time to make sure he does the best for his patient . 7 years later still have my own hip and functioning like I did before my hip issues. Thank you for treating me like a person not a number or a paycheck

In the process of searching for a Doctor to repair my sons torn ACL many of my friends suggested Dr. Maak with high regards. So late Fri. I went on his website to request an appointment. To my surprise he personally called me the next day, after telling him about my sons injury, he told us to come in Mon. And he would fit us in his schedule. I was blown away by this. Then when we meet with him and his staff it couldnt have gone better. He was the only doctor out of 3 we saw that pulled up the MRI images and explained with great detail about the injury. I wanted ONLY THE BEST orthopedic surgeon in the state for my son. He is a high school quarterback with his sights set on playing in college. I can see why Doctor Maak was so highly recommended. If your looking for the best, look no further.

I have been to Dr. Maak a few times for my left knee. He has drained fluid off it and injected steroid. Twice after injection i was told I was finished and sat up to get my balance. blood oozed down my leg and soaked into my clothes. I feel he is not genuine and does not let you rest sufficiently after the painful injections. I would not recommend him to a friend. I just had an injection two days ago and my knee is swollen to three times as big as it was when I went in. Now I have to seek out another doctor so I can walk and do my work.

Hands down, I wouldnt go to anyone else. I had a torn ACL of which Dr. Maak repaired. He was professional, informative and took the time to make sure I felt comfortable with my decision. I had a successful surgery and recovery of which I credit largely to Dr. Maak. I have since referred multiple people to see him. He is simply the best there is!!

Dr. Maak repaired a torn ACL and did a great job. Two years later I have no restrictions on my physical activities or residual pain, stiffness, inflexibility, etc. Great bedside manner and encourages thoughtful consideration before selecting a course of treatment.

Excellent, wonderful, amazing, Dr. Maak is the doctor you should see if you have a knee dislocation. When it comes to multi-ligament reconstructive knee surgery he is the surgeon you want. Orthopedic doctors in Boise, gave my son no chance of walking. It was by the grace of God that we found Dr. Maak. He is not only walking he is playing golf. Dr. Maak gives you 100% excellent care, he is brilliant, listen to him and do what he tells you to do! I have been an OR nurse for 30 years, If you need any knee ligament reconstruction (ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL) Dr. Maak is the surgeon that you want!

Dr. Maak repaired my meniscus and ACL in 2016. He explored the various options with me, pointing out details on my MRI and recommended a course of treatment. I was up and moving quickly, and a year later I have a full recovery. Every patient will have a different experience based on physical fitness at the time of injury, and willingness to do the rehab, but Dr. Maak is outstanding.
