Dr. Mudrow is the BEST DENTIST EVER!! He is kind, gentle, and truly cares about his patients. He always does a great job when he works on my teeth. I don’t dread going to the dentist anymore!! I’m grateful he’s in the Salt Lake Valley!! I live 40 minutes from where he practices in Sugarhouse, but I am happy to make the trip!! His office staff is great too!!

Ive been going to this office on 1200 East in Sugarhouse for years. I love the dentist Dr. S and the hygienist Lexi whoi s genuinely friendly, attentive and conscientious. She makes gum bleeding fun. 🤣🤣 They seem to have a busy practice. The office is clean, efficient and has hours well suited for shift workers.

I DO NOT recommend Platinum Dental in Sugarhouse! Had a crown put in while back and within a month it had come out. I tried scheduling a time to have it put back in and was told that the dentist who had put it in was no longer there and that I needed track him down to have it put back in to avoid being charged.After over a year and a half of not hearing a word from Platinum Dental I start getting bills in the mail stating I still owe for the horrible work they did.After going back and forth with them (mostly through very unprofessional texts messages), at one point they agreed to set up a time to have the crown put back in.I called to set that up and whoever I needed to speak with was at lunch and was told she would call me back. I also sent a text stating I called to schedule a time and of course was never called back.I thought they would finally work it out with me to get my missing tooth back in but the next thing I heard was that I’m being sent to collections.Again I called Platinum, was told it’s outta there hands now that it was sent to collections but collections said that wasn’t true.Now I’m stuck paying hundreds of dollars to a collection agency for a tooth that has been sitting in my sock drawer for over 3 years.

Pretty decent. I hate the dentists, so the fact that they were training someone and thus it took even longer wasn’t my favorite thing. I also wish that they worked more closely with their other platinum dental chains to simplify the process when you switch from one location to another. I liked the Provo location a bit better but it seems like they try to do a good thorough job :)

*Update* : I received a refund of $135 for the x-rays in August.Platinum Dental Care called me today to apologize for my negative experience, clarifying that I should not have been charged for the x-rays, and that I will be receiving a refund for them as soon as possible. They also noted that the dentist sincerely apologizes for the political opinions he expressed during the appointment, and realizes it was not an appropriate topic for conversation.Im really disappointed with my experience at this location in Nov. 2020. First, they were not upfront about that the fact that the x-rays they wanted were not covered by insurance. Since I was a new patient, I was expecting to have to get new x-rays, but theyve always been covered by insurance in the past. I even sent them over x-rays from my previous dentist (who was no longer in my insurance network). It wasnt until checking out with the receptionist that I discovered I owed a couple hundred dollars for JUST x-rays!Second, while the dentist worked on a few fillings of mine, he yammered on in a very unprofessional manner about his political views and mentioned he voted for Trump. WHY would I want to hear your political opinions while Im numbed up and under the drill?!On a positive note, I really liked the dental hygienist - she was very friendly and gave me some great advice.

They are not upfront with the charges and treatment. People with insurance need to be fully aware of the caveats in the treatment options they offer.Apparently I cannot continue my cleaning routine at their clinic unless I opt for deep cleaning which is not covered under my insurance.

Really bad experience, went there for three years. Constantly got unexpected bills somewhere between $300 and $800 every time, in one year I had over $2000 and unexpected bills. I went in one time and I knew my insurance was maxed out and so I was planning on paying in cash and I get there and they tell me that I owed $300+ balance so I paid it, then I paid cash for my additional procedure, went in three days later, and somehow I had another $187 balance. I didn’t have anything done, they told me it was from six months prior and my insurance didn’t cover something. There’s always some excuse about my insurance, Even though they assured me that they would pre-authorize it with them every single time. Also two of the three times he did work on my mouth it went bad and I had to pay for it plus I had to pay for an additional treatment to fix the bad work. I’ve been with a new dentist for over a year now and have not had any of these problems. No insurance mistakes, no bad work.

Worth getting a second opinion. I received a second opinion on my treatment plan and a 2 of 3 of the crowns I was suppose to get done at Platinum should truly only be fills. This was looked at by 2 other dentists at another office and they agreed they should NOT be crowns.In addition, I got 4 crowns put in at Platinum Dental four months ago and Ive been in pain for four months - chewing hurts, hot, and cold does too. Ive gone in to get them adjusted 3x and they never set my bite correctly in addition to about half my tooth being exposed under the crown which Ive been told is not best practice. Ive now been seen by another dentist and theyve requested to redo the entire crown all together if their adjusting doesnt do the trick. They also questioned whether I even needed all four crowns that were done by Platinum.. this is such a scary thought! Insurance will not pay for a redo so I requested I get a refund for one of my crowns at Platinum and they said I can come back in for the 4th time to adjust my bite but I will not be getting my money back. Thats horrible customer service and very dishonest. If you cant trust them to do the job the first THREE times .. why would someone give them more time..?

I bought a groupon for a teeth cleaning, exam and x-ray and when I got to the office after driving down from Park City they said a cleaning wasn’t included! It clearly stated a cleaning was included and they would not honor it. I received a txt from them before my appointment and I specifically said I did not want x-rays and they didn’t tell me that was a requirement. I’m very annoyed with their bate and switch tactics and will not be going back!

Platinum Dental is always fantastic. I’ve been coming here every six months for several years now. The doctors and dental assistants are always extremely friendly, and remember me well enough that we’re able to pick up our conversation from where we left off the last time. They do an excellent job cleaning my teeth and I trust them when they make recommendations. Although having crowns put on or replaced is never “fun”, when I’ve had that done they have taken excellent care of me. I plan to continue using Platinum Dental for the foreseeable future.

Horrible!I was a customer and I had my insurance after a year they called me and told me that my insurance rejected the claim and wanted me to pay the whole amount or the send it to collections! Even the gum graft that I did there failed!

I have been with this dental office for years and they are all amazing. Very friendly staff and organized scheduling. Lexie is the Dental hygienist I go to and she is amazing! Very friendly, gentle, and I get sparkly clean teeth. I am very disappointed in the service I have recently received at this office. I am not fan of dental office in general however I do have a level of service that I expect and today that definitely was not met. I was schedule to have finalized work when I went in today and the office was not prepared. I was not taken back on time. It took the staff 45 mins to let me know that what was needed from my appointment was not even there. Even though my appointment was schedule a month ago. After all was said and done and we came to an agreement to reschedule my appointment. I was then asked if I still wanted my cleaning. I only schedule the cleaning cause I wanted it done at the same time as my appointment.

Amazing clinical team, very knowledgeable and engaging. The hygienists are super smart, so engaging, and great at what they do. The scheduling and billing teams are all dedicated to meeting your needs. And their newly- renovated office is top-notch.I have had many exams, cleanings, and fillings done here, and they have always been awesome. I have come with both insurance and as cash-pay, and they always work to provide very high-value care.

The staff is great, BUT the dentist just wants to make money. I was told I had 8 cavities and needed 2 root canals. He also tried to upsell me on a bunch of different services. I asked the office to send my x-rays to my home town dental office because I had zero tooth pain and they didnt. Thankfully I drove to my family dentist and he did free x-rays and he told me I had two minor cavities. So glad I got a second opinion. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for dental care.

This dentist is clearly out to make money. It wasnt always this way, but somehow its gotten worse and theyre looking to do trivial filings that dont need them. After becoming skeptical my wife and I got a second opinion and found out a couple teeth were damaged needlessly.Their practices are dubious at best.

I asked them 3 different times if the quote for upcoming dental work was correct. They checked each time assuring me it was correct. I said okay lets get the work done then. After the work was done they said I owed more and that it was only an estimate. They knew my dental insurance was a fixed rate. They sent it to collections. Unethical scum.

I had a very positive experience at Platinum Dental Care in Sugar House this afternoon. The office staff wore protective facemasks and Ifelt very safe with the sanitary conditions of the office. The dental hygienist and Dr were very professional and efficient in my treatment. They prepared a positive plan to treat my teeth in a way that will restore total functionality of my mouth.I highly recommend Platinum Dental Care to those that want professional work done in a timely manner with positive results.

I see Dr. Rhett he’s great! Very personable, today they offered me a blanket for my 7 am appointment cause i was so chilly 🥶. They work well with my insurance and are quick to give me itemized receipts, The text message reminders are great! They worked well with fitting me in at the end of the year getting all my dental work in before my insurance expired.

I find the team, at platinum dental, to provide a state of the art experience, technically, and and find their support To be first class.Dr. Rhett, For example, I did some in-depth research regarding the materials for a dental implant. I am very impressed at the in-depth analysis he did and subsequent recommendations.Dr. Rhett did a 3D cone beam x-ray, which is very comprehensive, and found that I had some infection because of a tooth in the upper part of my jaw.Platinum has a doctor that specializes in treating this problem, a lot of in-house experts. They have the resources; Hi tech equipment, a variety of specialist to treat a variety of dental conditions. I hate going to the dentist. There is nothing like being poked in the mouth for an hour and being told you need to floss better. But I loved my visit here. The dental hygienist Lexi is so fun and full of life. You can tell she is passionate about her job. She is also very thorough and informative - which I admire. Doctor Rhett is also great. He cares about his patients and actually listens. Im looking forward to coming back.

Great day at the dentist. The hygienist was terrific. Normally, when It’s time to get teeth cleaned, I try to avoid it because they’re usually a little rough when scraping tartar. But today, my hygienist was so pleasantly gentle, i actually enjoyed having teeth cleaned. And my dentist was great! Thorough and very pleasant. I think I just may enjoy going to the dentist !

I had my first dentist appointment here in two years and had no complaints after my cleaning. I scheduled a subsequent appointment six months later and a different dentist saw me and claimed I had three cavities. In retrospect this seems highly unlikely. Either way I had them filled and one of the three still bothered me. I had to go back at least 3 to 4 times until they were willing to completely correct (remove and replace) the filling. Since then they continue to contact me to place an appointment even after them receiving spoof phone call answers (if any rational person called and received such a message, they would assume the number was incorrect/changed) since I’ve added them to my spam list and me leaving them a voicemail requesting not to contact me again.

First visit today, brought in my 5yr old. I was blown away at the efficiency, professionalism, and ease of the experience but that was only the icing on the cake because I received no complaints from the kiddo :)

I am very displeased with this company. DO NOT GO HERE. If you want to be treated right, go somewhere else. Platinum dental care does not care for their patients. The location in Sugarhouse has been zero help.Originally, I paid to have a specific treatment done. However, they (for some reason that I was never told) were not able to get it done. That was in April. I then requested a refund for the procedure that was never done. Since then, I have yet to receive my refund. It has been over 3 months!! I have called countless times and customer service says the same thing without any action. It should not take this long for a refund to go through. I am still waiting and still calling numerous times. NO HELP. I will not be a patient at this dental care anymore and hope you all do the same! Horrible customer care.

I went to Platinum Dental because they were preferred by my insurance but the experience would be worth paying for even if it wasnt covered. The doctor was friendly and efficient, thoughly explained his assessment and recommendations, and gave me options for how I would like to proceed. The hygienist who did my cleaning was the friendliest person Ive ever met at 8 AM and while she did an in depth cleaning of my teeth, she gave me an in depth explanation of the inner workings of oral hygiene, which I found to be very interesting and likely very helpful in moving forward with my at home dental care. As a medical professional who knew very little about teeth prior to today, my cleaning this morning was hands down the most educational doctors visit Ive ever had. My only regret is that my appointment was early enough in the morning that apparently my brain was not yet awake enough to retain the names of the clinic staff that worked with me, but the vibe I get from the whole practice is that you cant really go wrong! It takes a special group of people to make a visit to the dentist not only painless but moderately enjoyable, and this practice does just that.

My first experience here was 5 star, I will definitely be back to Platinum. I felt like royalty..as weird as that sounds. I felt like everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. The hygenists were all super educated and taught me a lot. More than Ive learned in all my years going to the dentist. I was super impressed by everything I experienced and will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family. 🙌🏼

They have the friendliest dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists! I love my hygienist (Lexi) at Platinum Dental Care Sugarhouse. She somehow always remembers me and our previous conversations every visit even though she has many other patients.Dr Brett Scherschlight and Cheryl are my favorite dentist and assistant thus far! Once, I had to get a minor filling done, but was running low on time as I had another appointment to get to after. They got me in and out in 15 minutes, including numbing time.I’m seriously so impressed with the entire staff’s dedication to keep their patients happy. Everyone is so informed and will always make sure they can answer your questions. They always make sure you’re comfortable when you’re at the dentist.

Id say my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. First the good things:I LOVED Lexi as a hygienist. Ive never ever had anyone be so thorough in their cleaning of my teeth. Shes also quite chill (and knows what Reddit is??) and perfectly nonjudgmental. Shes a great teacher about oral health and you can tell this job is a perfect fit for her passions. I cant say enough about her.The office is also in the ground floor of a high rise apartment complex which I thought was a cool use of space and theres never any traffic on the road in front of it so super easy to get to.Now the not so good things.I called for an appointment specifically requesting enough time to replace a filing that fell out and the receptionist assured me that wouldnt be a problem.I guess they were having an issue with one of their rooms because I didnt get called back for 20 minutes after my scheduled time. By the time everything got going I couldnt get the filling I needed and had to come back the next day (which also had a delay).Also Im not a medical professional so I might be wrong but when the dentist was telling me about all the things wrong with my teeth I was quite surprised because other dentists either completely missed quite serious issues or my oral health has declined significantly in a short amount of time. I went in thinking Id have one filling replaced and walked out with a $2,800 quote for required work.I assume this is the feeling women must have at the auto mechanic when they have a sense that they ought to trust the professional but cant shake the idea that maybe they are getting taken for a bit of a ride.So I ended up spending $675 as a sort of middle ground and will hope for the best. Im interested in the results of my x-rays next time.

What a great place felt right at home from the minute I walked in fabulous staff and doctor was spectacular.

I received a gum graft on a majority of my lower teeth. They were right on schedule and were done earlier than expected. I found it helpful that I was given the dentists personal cell phone number to contact if I had any questions about the healing or pain associated with the graft. I did end up calling one day with concerns and Dr Swenson was more than happy to help. Pricing seems reasonable, and grateful they offer a discount if you prepay in full. At first I was not sure how I would rate my experience because the day I went in for a consultation regarding the gum graft the computers were down and so the process of determining cost and pricing was quite long and there was some confusion about which teeth I was actually going to have done, but that issue was cleared up and everything went smooth.

Platinum Dental and its staff in Sugarhouse have always been enjoyable, professional, and excellent. They provide a week advance notice/reminder of appointments which is great for busy people who might forget. Their dental hygienist staff is fantastic and those usually awkward cleaning sessions are not present here–conversation is pleasant. I moved fairly far away from this location but still always come here for my dental work. They are also transparent with costs which is very refreshing.

Walked out of my first appointment with recommended work for $5k out of pocket after my deductible. I see a dentist regularly (every 6 months) and have never had an experience this bad. After the initial shock/diagnosis, I finally got smart enough to ask for a second opinion. Second dentist recommended much less work for cheaper.I should note that my procedure to have a crown put on became an emergency root canal. From everything Ive been able to find out, this is not the normal procedure, and raised more than a few eyebrows. That being said, I dont have any reason to believe the work was done haphazardly at this time.Id recommend just about anywhere else.

Platinum Dental is a world class dental practice. With multiple locations and fantastic staff, they have impressed me beyond belief. For the first time I don’t feel like a dentist and suggesting a procedure to make money, instead they genuinely suggest what’s best for the patient. In the event of a rare emergency, every single person in the office drops what they are doing and does their part to help the patient in need. Dr S is great! Ive taken my now 3 year old son to him several times. He takes time to play with my son and make him feel comfortable and assured. The office staff is also very friendly and professional and the office remodel looks wonderful!

I went to Platinum Dental after seeing the great reviews but was dismayed at what appears to me to be complete dishonesty. I regularly brush, floss, and mouthwash but was told at my exam that I would be needing 11 fillings, including fixing several fillings I have from previous dentists. I decided I should get a second opinion before paying over $500 out-of-pocket (with my insurance estimated to cover $2,000 of the cost) Boy, am I glad I chose to see a different dentist for a second opinion! I walked out of the second dentist’s office with a couple areas “to watch” as far as cavities and no recommended fillings. If that doesn’t seem like Platinum Dental is exaggerating “necessary” dental procedures, I don’t know what does. Avoid Platinum Dental at all costs...unless you like paying extra for unnecessary dental procedures.

This was my first experience and hope it improves. I was in Platinum for over 2 hours and only items done in that time were X-Rays and a 15 minute evaluation. The rest of the time was spent sitting in the chair doing nothing and long explanations on what theyre seeing. Time management needs to improve significantly.

I had not seen a dentist in years before coming here and now im happy to have a nice place to keep coming back to. Surprised by how much they all seem to care. I couldnt recommend this place enough. My family has gone to Dr. S for over 8 years. I have 3 little boys and not all of them have been excited to go to the dentist... he and his staff are good with the kids and have even let them sit on my lap during my visit so they can watch him work closely. Sadly we moved farther away and had to get a different dentist, but my oldest boy still says he would rather go back to Dr. S!

I always have a good time at the office! The dentist is not always a favorite place to be but DR. S and his crew always make it a good time with good conversation and music! Him and all the staff are always on top of their game and always willing to walk you through what they are doing! I would recommend him to anybody!

Platinum Dental Care got me an appointment quickly. When I arrived I was seen on time. I had an unexpected medical need which the friendly and competent staff took in stride. They treated my tooth quickly and painlessly. I was out of the office and on my way in under half an hour. I highly recommend this business.

I was leaving my house to get a call asking where I am at. The lady I spoke with scheduled me 1 hour prior to what I asked for. Then I find out they would have to reschedule and they were unwilling to work on their own up to their own mistake. I specifically asked to be careful on the scheduling, and billing due to bad reviews. First time ever trying them out to walk away with a bad experience. If the staff is unable to schedule somebody correctly and do something this simple as it is to book an appointment correctly . I would be nervous to rely on their billing aspect as well. And I would not be shocked if they were un-willing to own up to a billing mistake as well. It is sad to know you cannot rely on a business to hold their side and play with peoples time as it is exactly what happened today. I would strongly encourage you to record all calls if you are speaking to somebody about any billing matters from this business.

The staff was nice and welcoming. Dr. Scherschligt was happy, knowledgeable, and overall great. Five stars were not given because I set an appointment to get my teeth cleaned and, because of a scheduling error on their end, I did not actually get my teeth cleaned. I had to reschedule for a different time to come in, which didn’t leave a good impression as my first visit to Platinum Dental. I’m sure things will be worked out and no double charging will occur. I look forward to getting to know everyone at Platinum Dental better and developing friendships with them.EDIT:Feeling un-enthused after my first visit, I decided to get a second opinion. Before doing so, I called Platinum to see how many of the 6 cavities they said I had needed to really be filled. (It had been 2 years since I got my teeth cleaned, but it still seemed unusual since Ive only had 3 cavities in my whole life.) While on the phone, they said they just found another cavity on my X-rays and so I would need to get all 7 filled (which doesnt sound like a normal thing).I went to another dentist office for a second opinion. However, they could not get my X-rays transferred from Platinum. I ended up calling Platinum myself to get the X-rays sent. When they were sent, only one panorama X-ray was sent (not very useful for determining cavities). Consequently, the new place took new X-rays and discovered that I had a few tiny cavities that didnt need to be filled yet and only one that did. This seemed more in line with my personal tooth history, and I felt a lot more welcome and cared for at the new location, so I decided to continue caring for my teeth at the new location.Overall, the people at Platinum are nice, but I felt like I was treated poorly on my first visit, got the run-around when it came to determining what teeth needed fillings (and frankly I feel taken advantage of), and then they appeared unprofessional when transferring the X-rays they had taken (only gave 1 of many). I feel like I put in my time to see if it would work out, and also did my due diligence in determining the appropriate course of action. I would not recommend Platinum Dental.

So far so good!! Going in at 2 to actually get some work done!!! By far the most polite, exceptionally client oriented staff, scheduling my apt with April was as breeze and the dental hygienist was very compassionate understanding to say the least. I will be recommending Platinum Dental to all my friends.

I love Platinum Dental Care in Sugarhouse!!! The staff is helpful, friendly, professional, caring and have educated me so I can get the best dental care for me. Since they’ve remodeled, their office is nice and spacious! Dr Scherschligt is very meticulous and is always willing to answer any questions I might have. He’s great with my kids!!! I’ve found my dentist for the rest of my life!!!

I felt very comfortable and welcome, all the staff showed me they really cared, and theres no better feeling when dealing with things that can be overwhelming. Wendi is wonderful! very knowledgeable and always looking for your best interest. All the staff are very well prepared and showed a high level of professionalism. I definitely recommend this place and ensure youll have the best results and a brighter smile.

I absolutely hate going to the dentist because of prior bad experiences. I received a post card in the mail with some special offers so I decided to go have my teeth cleaned. It was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist office. They treated me with such care. I expressed my fears of the dentist and they didn’t mock me because of it. The opposite actually happened. I had a great experience and I am happy I accepted the offer on the post card to find me a great dentist.

Platinum Dental Care was amazing. Every aspect exceeded my expectations. I was traveling and had a dental emergency. They were able to squeeze me in and help me quickly for a very reasonable charge. The staff and dentist were upbeat, friendly, and made a painful and frightening experience much more comfortable.

Im a new client here and I love it! Great atmosphere, informed hygienists, and super friendly staff. I was lucky to be seen by Lauren. Shes the first person to ever really explain the science behind brushing and flossing and their cleanings (yay immunology). Shes also the first person whos been able to help me with a trouble spot in my molars. Theyve got a client for as long as I live here.
