Hicks is far and above the best place for dental care. Dr. Hicks and his staff treat you like family. Regardless of the type of care needed, everyone is friendly, cares about your comfort, and takes the time to explain things in a way that is understandable, while also providing world class dentistry. I always hated going to the dentist until my very first appointment with Dr. Hicks a few years ago. Now I would rather lose my teeth than go anywhere else.

Over a few different visits Dr. Ronald Hicks wanted me to get an abfraction filling on several of my teeth. I initially resisted because they werent bothering me. However, I do have some gum recession. I finally decided to let him do one to see how it turned out. After having it for a few months I found that food would get stuck under a ledge that had been created (because my gum started swelling) so I had to start using a toothpick to clean it out. I went to another dentist who shaved the ledge down but the gum is still bothering me. I feel like Dr. Hicks is an ok dentist but I didnt need this procedure and its only caused me problems.

Dr. Hicks is one of the best dentists there is. He gives you an overall assessment of your teeth unlike any dentist I have been to. He and his staff are honest, kind, and do amazing work. There is not a better dentist for crowns as well.

Ron and his staff do a wonderful job! We’ve been going to Hick’s Family & Cosmetic Dental for Years now and every cleaning & procedure they’ve done for my husband and I has been quick and painless. Everyone at the office is so friendly, and we are always reminded in a timely manner of upcoming appts or remaining balances on our acct. Cannot recommend them enough! We have gone to Dr. Ron for years. He and his staff are friendly, helpful, professional, and quick to get back about concerns, insurance questions, and scheduling. When our son was one year old and knocked a tooth out after falling down the stairs on Christmas Eve, Dr. Ron was available to make sure our little guy was OK and will also check in with us via text or call after we have had a procedure to make sure we are good.

Im long overdue in writing this review. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Ron Hicks and his staff at Hicks Family Dentistry. Our whole family has been going here for over 10 years now, and count everyone in the office to be among friends at this point. Our children look forward to their visits, and when we have issues requiring more intensive work (as in the case of my own teeth) we have absolutely implicit trust in Dr. Hicks to to the right thing, the right way, at the right time. Truly the best dentist weve ever seen, and at my age and with my dental history, thats a pretty high bar!

Went to Dr. Hicks yesterday in Cottonwood Heights for a dental cleaning/checkup and consultation for a bunch of cosmetic dentistry work (dental implants, dental crowns and veneers). Excellent staff, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They made me feel comfortable and I honestly feel like theyve got my back and that they listen to their patients. I had the best experience at Hicks family Dental from the moment I walked in the door. First of all the office is decorated with impeccable taste. The staff is very inviting and make you feel comfortable. I have very high anxiety when it comes to dental work. Dr Tyler Hicks did an amazing job at calming my nerves. He was very gentle, and kept checking on me to makes sure I was ok. He worked very quickly and efficiently, having two little ones at home to get back to, that is very important to me. I had no pain after I left, and I am a very happy patient! I definitely will continue to be a patient there, and will be referring all of my my friends and family!

I came to Dr. Hicks in extreme and constant pain from two crowns that had just been put on. There were some major problems - both needed replacing due to not being bonded with my teeth and decay happening under the crowns. He fixed everything quickly, and I’m telling you - I hate shots and he made it almost enjoyable!! I will never go anywhere else.

I switched dentists to Ty Hicks in 2016. Ty is young and new and thats a good thing. He takes the time to make sure you understand, he is knowledgeable, reliable and does a great job. Had 2 cavities and my first ever crown done by him and there was ZERO pain and I was in and out in less than 1.5 hours. Friendly staff, nice office. Update from post a few years ago: Still the best dentist office I have ever visited. Dr. Hicks knows his stuff and the staff and he are all top notch in care, comfort, and communication. They accommodate with grace even the quirkyest of needs my kids come up with . Care for adults was equally awesome.My kids love going here. The office staff and dentist are all so friendly and really care about our family. My kids were actually fighting over who got to go first to get their teeth cleaned. When does that happen at a dentist office!?! Even for appointments to fix cavities my daughter does not hesitate going in. That says a lot about the care they offer here! I am particularly impressed with the acute attention they pay to the comfort of their patients. They make it as painless as possible and still give options and carefully talked me through everything so I would be comfortable with the work being done on my children and medications used so I could make informed decisions as to their care. Their technology is above anything I have seen in other offices making it easier for me to understand what is happening and faster for the whole experience. (In addition to it helping the denstist i am sure.) In talking with the dentist I feel confident in his abilities and knowledge. I would absolutely recommend this office to anyone looking for a caring, experienced, and careful dentist office that leaves you feeling informed and confident in their services. I am so happy with the experience Ive had at Hicks Family Dental. I was very nervous on my visit due to some bad experiences with other dental offices in the valley. Their office and staff are very welcoming. Dr. Tyler is awesome. They were able to pick up on my anxiety and reassured me that I was in good hands. He made sure I knew what was happening with every step during my procedure and checked in on me frequently. My comfort was of upmost importance. I was given a neck pillow, head phones, tv in a ceiling to watch Fixer Upper (that sealed the deal for me right there), was offered a blanket, and they even moisturized my lips and massaged my jaw! I will recommend them to every person I meet and will never go anywhere else, ever!
