I was at the store on the 23rd of around 3:30 there was 1 other person buying glasses and 5 employees. The customer service was awful. They were not very helpful, even after I spent over $200 in their store.Last time I was there they told me that I could get them refitted anytime. So I did. I bought contacts and some new lenses and I wanted them to refit my frames.The guy working told me they couldnt do anything to fit them and i had to go to a Nike glasses store? I said to him Do those even exist?! The answer I got was I dont know. Talk about lying to a customer.. Heres the kicker. ((I bought those $175.00 frames at that store))Ive been going to Americas Best eyeglasses and contacts for over 20 years. This is incredibly insulting and Ive never had such awful customer service with them before and it has really changed my opinion about them. The best they could do was look at me and said they cant do anything about it. They didnt try and make it right or anything. I wouldve liked to talk to a manager but nobody there seem to care. Im about to take my business of 20 YEARS somewhere elseDONT SHOP HERE

This office is just amazing for their efficiency! I never leave Google reviews, but I will this time since they:- listened to my extreme circumstance and fit me into a last minute appointment- the office and staff got us through the whole process of getting my prescription and glasses so quickly!- no dirty looks for how long i took trying on glass frames- BEST PART: got my glasses in less than two weeks before I left the country$75 for my prescription and 2 glasses. I would come back again if I needed to, no doubt.

The Staff was great, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The ophthalmologist was very nice and thorough, He was great w/my 9 y/o she was so nervous. Thank you all, I would definitely recommend this place.

I would never go back to this America’s Best Optical. They treated me like I ordered the wrongprescription. They were suppose to be for distance and reading. Right after I bought them, I wentout to my car and could not read anything. T hey indicated it was my fault.I told them when I hadmy eye exam, I specially asked him, aren’t you going to check my eyes for close up reading and he saidall that had been taken care of. I told the manager and the girl who took my order,the problem and theyargued with me. They said it would cost me around $100.00 to send them back to the factory. Afterabout 6 weeks, I got them back and still had the same problem. I went back again and they said there wasnothing they could do, they would not fix them. The people that work there are very unprofessional andjust don’t care about their customers.

Love Dr Croft!! Very thorough!! The rest of the staff was great, in the past it was hit and miss with turn over, but we keep going for the eye Dr. Much better staff since last year.

Totally ridiculous policies. Two months after my eye exam I wanted to try Acuvue Oasis daily lenses since I have been on Acuvue Oasis monthly lenses for almost 15 years. Was told I have to see the optometrist again just to try the daily lenses. Their is absolutely no medical, scientific, or rational reason why this is necessary … and this policy simply wastes the time of the optometrist and the patient. The best way to send a message is by taking my business elsewhere and leaving a poor review. Best of luck with your ridiculous policies. Side Note: I was able to transfer my prescription the same day and get a trial set with out seeing an eye doctor. This industry obviously has no standardization of protocols.

This place is the worst please please avoid!!! The west valley location was extremely rude to my 7 year old son getting an eye exam grabbing his head directing him very rudely making smart remarks about how bad his vision is. I went to the Brickyard location to get contacts for my first time bought the insurance through them and 7 months later I still have NOT received my contacts! Ive had a billion trials that are not even my prescription some were ripped or just wrong. Their response was my prescription is so bad its not in the store and they need to order it. Finally they got my correct trial contacts and the lady opened it and got permanent marker on the lense rinsed it and said to still try even though my eye was burning. They ordered me more trials and said they would call for me to pick up received no call. Called in and they said someone picked up my prescription it was a joke. Talked to store manager Denise who was really nice and gave me 10% off when I order. Called into order and no one has a clue what they are doing puts me on hold says they will call and never do transfer me to some guy and he gives me attitude I said I apologize about my frustration and appreciate his help and before I can even finish he hangs up. They said I have other customers before you waiting. I have been waiting MONTHS so rude. Ending result I am still waiting for a call back and still havent began to even order my contacts. Please take my word and avoid this company.!

Im not sure why there are any negative reviews about this location (sounds like waiting 20 minutes is too much for some...ever been to a doctors office?) I always come here for my glasses and will continue to do so. The staff is courteous and quick, and the store itself is very clean. I dont normally post reviews at all, but I had the best experience here and think more people should write about that instead of only when it is a negative one. The one woman, I think her name was Denise, helped me pick out the cutest pair of glasses. She did it in a way that made me feel like I was shopping with my mother instead of it being her job. Give that woman a raise! It is exactly the type of experience I didnt expect but sorely needed, especially since being deprived of almost all social interactions (aka Covid). Thanks Americas Best and thanks Denise. You guys clearly have this down.

This place is a hard pass. I went in to get my glasses adjusted. They have an AR coating. Since my glasses are plastic, the heat they use to adjust them would melt the AR. Thats all fine and well. My problem was the woman who helped me. She was holding my glasses BY THE LENS, then continued to touch them, repeatedly, before trying to hand them back to me! Who does that?!?! I asked her to clean them, and the only thing I can come up with, is that she used actual butter to clean them. So dirty! I couldnt see well enough to drive home. I had to walk to the Harmons, nearby, to buy stuff to clean them! Wouldnt recommend going in here for literally anything.

I would never recommend anyone go here. First I had to wait 20 minutes while one of the employees told me they didn’t take my insurnace. I showed them on my phone and the website that they were listed and the person who took my apt confirmed it also. Finally, after 30 minutes, they confirmed they took my insurance. The only good thing I can say about this experience was the optometrist, George, he was very nice and went out his way to answer my questions and explain things to me. I would love to see him again, if he gets a new manager. The young lady that was helping me after the exam was clearly new and struggling. At one point she asked for the managers help, who was just cleaning glasses, to which the manager threw up her hands and said “I don’t know, I guess call the 800 number and figure it out”. I voiced my frustration to the manager and her reply to me was “well you can take your prescription somewhere else”. I could not believe how horrible she was not only to help employees, but a customer. During the hour and half ordeal w this poor girls trying to figure out several things, the manager just stood nearby cleaning glasses w absolutely no attempt to help. I finally ended up leaving after paying 100 dollars and nobody could tell me a break down of for what. I even told the girl who was trying to help me that she had a horrible manager. And the managers response from where she was hiding in the corner ... “what did I do”? I told her, “you didn’t do anything. The entire time you have been standing here watching your employee struggle to the detriment of your customer and not done a thing.” I think her name was Denise, but not sure. I don’t think Denise is fit to manage a Girl Scouts cookie stand, let alone an office or retailer. And the people that suffer from her laziness are the customers and her employees. Save yourself frustration and hours and go anywhere else.

Today while ordering my contact lenses, the woman behind the counter had a line forming and needed the optometrists assistance while ordering my lenses. The problem is that she became frustrated and outwardly said to me that she was more concerned with helping people check in for their appointments than she was with completing my transaction. She gave me zero response and didnt even acknowledge that I stated anything when I replied by telling her I felt that my business was just important as the people waiting in line behind me. this woman is very tone deaf and made me feel horrible like I am not as important as people that have an eye exam. She also inadvertently made me feel like it was my fault that she was behind. I think they need to consider hiring people that have social skills.

I would not recommend this location to anyone. I was here for my exam last year, at which time I waited 45 mins for the doctor (I was the only one there). The doctor himself was ok. However afterwards the person at the desk looked up my insurance and quoted me a price for my contacts. I took home a trial pair, they worked fine, so I came back the next week to buy the boxes - but somehow the price was double as much?? Everyone working there seemed very new and no one was able to explain what was going on. The icing on the cake - the contacts they sold me were not even the correct prescription!!! They were .25 off. The front desk staff here are very friendly but everyone else was just awful. Never again.

While visiting Salt Lake City I had my purse stolen with both pairs of glasses in it!I was in a full panic.I came to the store fearing it would take many days to get new glasses.Manager Denise assisted me in choosing my new ones and it all went so much better than before.Thank you all for such a great experience and thank you to Denise!This old Grandma is rocking her new look!

I had an amazing experience here. My prescription wasn’t the best for me but with my follow up they fixed everything. I definitely recommend Denise she was super nice and helped me solve all my problems I was having.

Updated from 1 star: I had some challenges with ordering contacts and getting conflicting info. While those challenges are still outstanding, Denise (the General Mgr) and America’s Best have bent over backward to try and accommodate the situation. In a day where most folks try to shuffle off issues, lay blame on someone/something else, and hope the frustrated customers just go away, America’s Best has taken the issue head on. It’s when things go bad, the true colors of an organization come out and those colors are red, white, and, blue for America’s Best.

The staff at America’s Best on Brickyard Rd in Salt Lake City was awesome! Everyone who helped was professional and courteous from the front desk to the doctor to the individual who helped me pick out my frames. I love my frames! I got two pair, one for reading and one for driving. The entire experience was pleasant.

I am honestly surprised at the incompetency. My wife walked in for an appointment for our kids, the optometrist was great, but the staff/attendants had zero attention to detail, slow and unwilling to help me and the many other customers. After choosing glasses, the staff added charges to our bill without asking (and probably without even realizing, seriously these people are completely clueless). The glasses hadnt been received yet so I pursued for a refund. Afterwards I called for a refund for their unauthorized charges, they didnt even know how to process a refund. So they referred me to their manager after I kept insisting, the manager said they processed a refund... no refund has come yet. So now I suppose well have to file a dispute with them with the payment card company. Its amazing how much time I have to spend to fix their mistakes.

Too bad service. They can’t give the glasses on their scheduled time. They can not prepared in even 2 weeks and didn’t bother to call to let us know that they will be late. Dont know when will we get them. Will never go there. Earlier from other store, we got the glasses within an hour. We didint find that store here. Thats why went here and get the worst-ever experience.

Do not go there, these people are crooks and will steal your money. For all the years I have used America’s best this location is the far worst. “Per their policy they charged me for contact lenses, 4 months later when I tried to get them they wanted me to do another eye exams and would not release my prescription. Called customer care which told me that they had no right to do so. I have no Interest of fighting with y’all I will just take my heavily covered vision insurance elsewhere, where people value their customer over money.

Great Experience and service! Shout out to Sam (pre exam) who was friendly and explained each test. Dr. Croft was courteous and friendly. He was genuine and really took the time to answer my questions. Shout out to Matthew (sales) who was friendly and very helpful. Reception wasnt very friendly but I was quickly greeted upon walking in. I did make an appointment. All employees were wearing masks, thank you. However, the receptionists mask was very loose.

I had a great experience here. I made an appointment and went 10 minutes early as suggested to do the paperwork which took maybe 5 minutes and then I was seen about 10 minutes later. The pre-exam woman was very nice and pleasant to be around and she was very polite and lightly joked with me. The optometrist was an older gentleman and he was also very pleasant to be around and he was very patient and informative. I told him it was a very pleasant experience and he thanked me for being very direct and also being pleasant towards him. I would definitely recommend and will keep going back. My glasses will take about 2 weeks to get but I find that to be an average wait time. :)

I would never recommend this place or most this location maybe, I had such a awful experience with this place, I went for an appointment and to get new glasses for my kids, the appointment with the doctor was great so far but the bad part came from the attendants. Fiat they were so slow, I waited over 30 minutes to get help of them, one of the lady’s always needed help for everything that she was doing taking away one more lady and making everyone wait. Second when I finally got helped I got one eye glass for each of my kids and she made a order putting the two glasses for just one kid, so I paid it and right there I realized she had made it wrong so she returned it and cancel the order right there. After that she tried one more time and finally got it right this time, by this time I was already frustrated and tired of being there for over 2 hours already so I just paid it and went home, when I got home I noticed that everything in the receipt was wrong, she added a lot extra things without even ask me if I would like it, so I called them and tried to have them to cancel it, they put me on hold several times until they told me I should call in the next day to talk to the manager. So I did it, next day came and I called this place, where is the manager? No one knew, so they simply told me they have done the cancellation and requested the refund. So I was like, how? How can they know who I am? But whatever I wanted to believe they did it right. So a week went by and where is the refund on my card? So I called their customer service and they told me they could see that had I refund coming so I should wait one more week. So I waited it and after long 2 weeks no refund on my card. So I decided to call my card provider and start a dispute . Now it have been a month and I’m still dealing with this problem. I definitely don’t recommend this location to anyone! The lady’s working there can barely do their jobs. Look for another location if you need it. All this problems happened bc of one old lady with blonde hair that works there. She doesn’t deserve her work!

The worst experience of my life i wouldnt spend a dead dog to this place they are uncouth place of business and should be clised for.how they treated me and yes i spent 250.00 of my money in that store and they wouldnt even. UPDATE: The manager Denise reached out to me and was able to get my glasses re-ordered for me, and even gave me a Contacts Eye Exam and a pair of contacts for me to use until the glasses came on Saturday Dec 19th. I am happy everything turned out better. Denise was very nice! I am grateful for her help in making things right! Thank you!I am so upset. I went in on 10/23/2020 and ordered my 2 pairs of glasses. I paid over $700 in full. Finally after over 3 weeks I was able to get the one pair that were just for sunglasses, and only because I kept calling. At that time they told the other pair had been shipped. Another week goes by, no glasses. I call again pretty mad, the manager looks into it and finds that the place that makes the glasses has sent them to the warehouse and they could not find them. She assured me that she would have them put a rush on them being re-made. I am still waiting. NEVER pay in full at ordering. They have my money, so no need to hurry I guess. I will NEVER use them again. I guarantee they are NOT America’s Best!

I honestly have enjoyed my experience thus far with America’s Best, up until this point. I went in earlier today with my significant other, and were told we’d be assisted momentarily. I also noticed how there was another person who was waiting before us. Shortly after, three other people entered after us, and all were assisted before the two of us, along with the other person as well. I understand people forget who entered when and such from time to time, but we sat there for 35 minutes without any help, where we ended up leaving. Otherwise, this specific location has a great selection, and solid service when being assisted, but as former retail management, they’re a bit lacking on the side of checking in and situational awareness.

Mary-Ann(e) (I believe that was her name, not quite sure) is such a gem! She was so sweet, welcoming, & funny! She reminded me of my Junior Math teacher from high school. As a personal who struggles with social anxiety, I am always very nervous to go to places where I have to interact for long periods of time, but she managed to make me feel comfortable & welcomed. I’m sure it doesn’t seem like a big deal to many, but to me, that is everything. I am convinced she is what makes Americas’s Best exactly that; America’s Best. 💜

All of the staff is very polite. Besides the older lady with the short blonde hair. There were other people in the store without masks on, they were white. My son and I are Hispanic and she came after us demanding us to put it on and causing a scene in front of the customers. My husband and his son are also white and she didn’t say anything to them Or say anything to the other customers. I will be calling corporate about this. I feel as she was targeting us because our skin is brown.

Way over booked. Waited two hours. Doctor very friendly and kind but the wait was a sure sign that they need to schedule appts further apart. Called today to get glasses and on hold for over 8 minutes. Ridiculous. Receptionist never returned.

Staffs here are very friendly. The process of checking in was quick. I have a high prescription but buying 2 pairs of glasses cost less than $500, while Lenscrafters sold me a pair of glasses for more than $500 with low quality. Dr. George is very knowledgeable. One of the staffs helped me pick out the new frames. I havent got my glasses yet but Id return to this place for the future eye exam.

I just had my yearly eye exam at the new Brickyard location of Americas best. Mary Ann made it a fantastic experience. She was very knowledgeable and lovely to work with as she got me ready for the optometrist. Dr George Croft was caring and compassionate and genuinely grateful for my business. Every employee I encountered was smiling and friendly and I left in a better mood them when I entered. Add their great selection of frames and I am a happy customer!. Thank you for offering a great value and old school customer service.

Great experience from the front door all the way to dispensing my glasses. I was hesitant about the Digimax HD progressive lenses but they were explained to me and I felt educated. Now i have them with the neverglare and transitions. They are AWESOME! Highly recommend this location. Second year, another pair of precisely created lenses!

I have mixed emotions about this place, I came into to my appointment for the store manager lady to tell me that I need to verify my own benefits, and find out what my provider is under. Because I have cigna vision. I have never in all my 34 years wearing glasses had to call and verify my own benefits. She was very unprofessional and had her mask just over her mouth, and kept messing with it. If it wouldnt have been for the amazing Mary Ann in the pre exam room being so amazing, i would have left. She helped me call to verify my benefits and explained everything to me. Come to find out i am out of network, I would have left and went in network if I would have known prior to the start of pre exam. The eye doctor was totally amazing, very knowledgeable and kind, he took time to explain everything and worked super hard to get the best prescription for my eyes. I have severe astigmatism in both eyes. I would recommend the staff other than the 2 blonde older ladies in the front. They were awful. Uncaring, unpleasant and unprofessional. Get past them and things are wonderful.
