Dr. Thorne is the best! He is extremely knowledgeable and you are in good hands with him. He will keep you alive !

Dr. Thorne is professional, thorough and kind. I was apprehensive and worried before my appointment but left feeling at ease with the knowledge Id gained after talking with him. Dr. Thornes and his staff are exceptional.

I consider myself blessed to have been in the hands of Kent Thorne MD. For me he has the hands of God. He clearly saved my live and I will always be thankful. I walked in his office with torrential regurgitation caused by a screwed up mitral valve that needed repair or replacement immediately. His goal is to repair the valve first and foremost and the last resort replace it. In my case he was able to be repair it which was a bonus. I was referred to Doctor Thorne by of an incredible Doctor that was one of my childhood friends that told me he is the man for the job. As time went on I got confirmation after confirmation he is one of the best. The staff and over all experience was a 5 star. Much appreciation and many thanks to Kent Thorne MD

I just underwent Open Heart Surgery to replace my Aortic Valve and part of my Aorta because of an aneurysm on July 30th 2018. I met with Dr. Thorne and his staff 1 month earlier and then a week before surgery. They were very confident and caring to make sure that I got back on my feet again as soon as possible. I searched for the right surgeon for my specific situation. This Surgeon knows his Hearts. He knew exactly what needed to be done and made me feel comfortable with my decision. If I was to do it again, I would not go to anyone else!!! I was treated with respect and had all my questions answered. DEFINITE 5 STAR Rating. I would be glad to answer any questions about anything in the process. After 3 1/2 weeks, I am walking 2 miles a day and feel GREAT, thanks to this wonderful Surgeon.

Completely rude treated my husband very bad Im surprised he even still has a license. Left him in unbearable amount of pain my husband had a lung surgery tubes in his chest acted like he didnt even care about the patient after surgery. My husband spent 2 nights in icu he slept maybe 1 hour in 5 days now. He wont even call or communicate with my husband to address the pain he is in if you plan on surgery pick a more caring and respectful surgeon.

I was impressed with Dr. Thorne and his staff right from the beginning. He called me on his cell and got to know me a little and scheduled me to see him. He was personable and professional. He listened to me and respected my opinion. So many times docs just talk over you and dont really validate your concerns. Dr. Thorne was not like that. We had some good conversations about my procedure, and I felt all my concerns were addressed. I can hardly believe how great my experiences with open heart surgery was with Dr. Thorne and St Marks hospital.They really know what they are doing. They have this figured out. Having had mechanical valves placed 20 yrs prior. This experience was hands down better. I feel blessed to have the skilled hands of Dr. Thorne and his team. On a personal note--Dr. Thorne is a down to earth great guy I could hang out with and play a round of golf with any day!

I want to respond to the negative review below. I cannot speak to your specific situation about your mom because I have never met her but I also want you to know she is in my prayers. When it comes to the review that you wrote, I see many inaccurate assumptions and personal attacks you made about Dr. Thorne. This might be due to the pain you feel about your moms situation or that you have a lack of knowledge about the man and you feel you must belittle him to make yourself feel better. I do understand that because I blamed my own father for my mom’s bout with cancer, that she lost 20 years ago, because she did not have insurance when my dad divorced her and she did not go get seen when her pain started. You base your review on one person and limited interaction with Dr. Thorne where you claim to have worked with him. I personally have never met you either. I have worked with the man for 7 years and have helped in over 420 of his surgical cases. I also base my response on 29 years of experience in the operating room. One of your claims has nothing to substantiate it. You make the claim that he has horrible outcomes; this cannot be further from the truth. He has better outcomes that many of the surgeons I have worked with over the years and that has recently been proven when we received a three out of three star rating from an independent rating agency. This rating is weighted heavily on patient outcomes. I also might add that this is the only three star rating in Utah. You also claim that he is washed up. I feel that your personal dislike of Dr. Thorne is coming out. I can tell you that he operates at a level that is unmatched by surgeons throughout the US and is at the top of his game. As far as not caring about his patients, he demonstrates unmatched care for his patients on a daily basis. He expects his support staff to be the best and top of their game. He does not condone mediocracy. Dr. Thorne drives himself daily to very high set personal standards. Your attacks that label him as a horrible excuse of a human being, a moron and to bring harm to him or his family is off the chart crazy and serve no purpose to your evaluation. I am personally disturbed to your voice in the message you are attempting to send. I wish you and your mom well.
