This place is horrible, and the counselor I saw, Krista Clement, was absolutely god awful. To start off, the person who manages the front desk is rude and irritable. They acted like me calling in with a few questions and wanting to set an appointment was a huge inconvenience for them. In hind sight, I should have taken that as a red flag and went else where for treatment, but I proceeded with setting an appointment with Krista, which I hugely regret.Krista is a complete joke of a therapist. She is always late and unprepared. She does not take notes or even remember what we spoke about last session. Ive seen quite a few therapists in my past, but I had never had one laugh in my face before seeing Krista. I always left our sessions feeling worse about myself than when I arrived. Krista is unprofessional, unprepared, unsympathetic, and unqualified. For your sake, avoid her at all costs.

BIPOC COMMUNITY BE AWARE *not a safe spaceThe therapist there was good, great first introductory meeting; however, getting into the therapist is another story. Good luck getting past the warden or front desk receptionist. Very ill-mannered lacks people skills which questionable for a counseling center. Why would they would have someone like that as the “face” of their business? Horrible customer service, insulting, did not explain or tell me that a deductible was needed to be met but instead charged my card for over $100.When I asked why she didnt explain that to me before charging my card like most receptionist would do in the situation as I was standing in the front office when she charged my card. She became very defensive, spewed out a response, and hung up the phone. A simple explanation that the deductible needed to be met and authorization to charge the card for over $100 instead of the expected regular co-pay would have been the proper way to handle the situation. But instead, the receptionist was very rude, very contentious, very unprofessional, which made for a very unpleasant experience. And now that I think about it, I waited in the front office after paying for a good four-five minutes. When the therapist came down to get me, she was surprised stating, she had been waiting, and the receptionist usually sends her a message notifying her when a patient arrives. Yet, they had not, so I’m wondering if this is a part of the situation. If maybe I was profiled. If perhaps the receptionist did not like me for whatever reason, being a woman, being a woman of color, they claim that it’s a safe space on the door. However, I feel that I was single out and treated in a very ill-manner for whatever reason. It’s unfortunate, whatever the reason is; however, I would like to WARN others, especially of the BIPOC Community, because what other reason would she not have for doing her JOB unless personal malicious intentions. If you still want to try your luck here, be aware of your dealings with the front desk receptionist and make sure that you note her interactions as she is very conniving and sly with her intentions? Don’t just take my word for it. Read the reviews before mine about money dealings here. Smh shameful. People go there for different reasons but all for help, but instead, we have to deal with an entitled front desk receptionist causing trauma. Again very unfortunate because I enjoyed the therapist.

My family has been fighting addiction for over a decade. Weve had experience with several inpatient and outpatient programs as well as many counselors, therapists and doctors. What I love about Red Willow, and James in particular, is that it doesnt feel like someone just doing their job. It feels, in a sense, like weve gained a family member. There is genuine care and compassion, not only for the addict, but for the rest of us fighting the addiction with her. He is calm and reassuring while also being straightforward and realistic. He has helped us feel confident with some of the hardest choices well ever have to make. I cannot express enough how life saving it has been to have someone holding our hands and helping us find the right path for our unique family and situation. That peace of mind in the chaos of addiction is priceless.

Ive been to a few different places but this one definitely made me feel more like a dollar sign than a human being with feelings and needs. It is hard to feel comfortable in that more cutthroat environment.Update - They made it right financially and apologized. Changed the review from 1 to 3 star.

My husband and I visited James Ott many times over a four year period for help/advice with a very ill family member. I never felt counseling was helpful for anything, especially after a bad experience with a counselor in the past. But James is unique in that he is kind, compassionate and understanding. He has the knowledge, skills and experience imperative to provide good practical and realistic advice. We went through the absolute worst, and we never could have made it without James. He truly cares about his patients beyond just an office appointment. I wish that we had started counseling with James sooner, and I deeply regret not doing so. Thank you, James.

Smart, experienced, and well-trained counselors (psychotherapists). Very friendly front office staff. I particularly like that they have extensive addiction treatment experience, as well as helping clients suffering from other psych problems. Understanding dual disorders and knowing how to help such patients is a unique skill set.

I have been working with James Ott on and off over the last 10 years. He is very compassionate and insightful. I have made it through some of the most difficult times in my life with his help and support.I have not worked with any of the other staff at Red Willow Couseling, although my brief interactions have been warm and welcoming.I am grateful that I found this clinic and recommend it to anyone who is looking for healthy and positive change. It has changed and saved my life.

They will lie to you about the insurance being accepted there, do everything they can to keep you there, then leave you a huge Bill at the end. Do not trust them, they dont care about you, theyre in it for the money. That being said, the service they provided was beneficial and helped me a lot.

My brother has been trying to get an appointment for days now but no one answers the phone or returns a call to schedule an appointment? How can a facility of any sort do good business if they can’t even take the first step and answer the phone? My brother needs help!!!We will look elsewhere for help but this pisses me off....
