If I could give -10 stars I would. Family Eye Care. Ha! What a joke!I will never step foot in there again! NOT family friendly! Dr. Gilcreases wife is rude. She is ruining his business. Took my children in for check up. I left one of the girls in the waiting room with my son who just turned two. He was a little loud but hes two. No one else was in there. I figured it would be better for him to be in there instead of the exam room. She walked in the waiting room and said to a child you need to keep him quite. No one can hear anything for this child. I was told this when we went to the car. I walked back in and asked to speak to the Dr. and her. I asked her if she had a problem with my baby and repeated what she said. She claimed that she didnt say it like that but I have heard that she was rude, so I didnt believe her. I have heard that she is rude from several people. My husband witnessed it one day he was in there. I told her that I may or may not be back and she said thats fine. So apparently she doesnt care if she looses business. Dr. Gilcrease didnt say a word. I guess she wears the pants. I am the mother. She should have gotten me if there was a problem with MY child. And by the way, maybe dont put your office next to the waiting room if you expect complete quietness. I hear Vision Center on Tech Drive is wonderful!

I ordered a pair of glasses here (my eye exam was done in my hometown). They had a nice selection of glasses and the woman working in the front was friendly and helpful. I was told I could bring my glasses by if I ever needed them adjusted. I would buy glasses here again.

Love this place! Our family had a wonderful experience. Dr Gilcrease is a great eye doctor and his staff is willing to help in any way possible. They carry a wide variety of quality frames, from budget friendly to higher end fashions and all the lens options to fit our needs. Highly Recommend!

I cant believe those bad reviews! I have been there multiple times and always had wonderful service from everyone! The owners wife always helped me pick out my glasses and Dr. Gilcrease is always wonderful. I dont know about the street corner hustler that one guy said but I am sure he just wanted something for nothing. Maybe he should go to Americas Best. I love my glasses and the quality is excellent. Got told my the doctor I was hindering him from doing his job. Hes been aware for months now that my eyes have been irritated. Instead of doing anything about it, he blames the company I order my contacts from.

If there was a 0 star that’s what I would give this place. Dr.Gilcrease is a great doctor but his wife is a hateful person. She doesn’t care about the customers at all and is hateful to her staff. The Drs best bet is to keep her FAR AWAY FROM HIS BUSINESS!!

Dr. Gilcrease is a wonderful doctor, and has a genuinely concern for his patients. But the reason for the one star review is his staff, especially the lady in the front who handles frames. She is no more than a Street corner hustler, And as a black man I would not recommend that you take your business there unless you really need to see an EYE doctor.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Dr. Gilcrease is nice enough but his wife is RUDE. She refused to let me look at glasses since I didnt need an exam, I just needed to buy glasses. She informed me that they took my insurance but were going to have to stop because she was sick of people going somewhere else for the exam and just using them to purchase glasses. In my opinion if you are willing to make a purchase from them why turn a customer away with your bad attitude? I had been warned by a coworker that she was unbelievably rude, but decided to give them a chance anyway and boy was she right, they were AWFUL! She doesnt even greet you with a smile when you walk through the door . I will NOT go back there and will tell anyone who will listen about their terrible customer service.

I love Dr. Gilgrease!!! He is so thorough and patient!!! The atmosphere is awesome I would highly recommend this place!!!

I wish I could give 0 stars to this place. Ive been taking my girls there for a while. The woman in the front was always rude but I thought dr gilcrease was good. Today my 12 had her appointment and my other daughter and her cousin took her. My daughter called me very up set because the woman told how they stunk of cigarettes smoke and made fun of my daughters cousin for taking a selfie. I really think that was very unprofessional. Who conducts a business like that. The woman and I got in an argument over it and she told me to find another eye dr. Which is fine by me. I asked to speak to dr gilcrease and they said my girls were standing at the door smoking and blowing smoke in the door. Out of the 3 girls only one of them smoke and she swore to me and so did the other girls that she didnt even have a cigarette when she pulled in the parking lot. That office is so rude, unprofessional and just plain liars.

Dr. Gilcrease, a gentleman. That wife of his a rude, conniving, money hungry, gentlemen. I will NEVER go back to Gilcrease Eye Care in Ruston, Louisiana. The treatment and the “hustle” is unreal! They purposefully set up ways to get you out of your money!
