Dr. Lin and her assistant are an awesome caregiver. They were both cheerful, upbeat and very personable. I had three issues and Dr. Lin addressed them all in detail and gave medical as well as homeopathic advice to follow. The practice was very clean and the front staff was pleasant and efficient. I will be returning for any and all other dermatology needs.

Dr. Janet Lin was very thorough, listened to my concerns, and explained everything as she did the body scan. Her cheerfulness quickly put me at ease. Been to many Dermatologists in my past. This office is well run, and the physician is both knowledgeable and personable. Unlike many skin specialists, he isnt out there hawking cosmetics and cosmetic procedures to add to the bill. Even with some skin issues that could have made money doing a surgical procedure, he felt it wasnt really necessary to cause a scar. In short... I highly recommend this office.

I took my daughter to their Rockville office to see Dr. Janet Lin. She was warm and kind. She took the time to review my daughters previous record from 2007 and listened to our concerns about her moles. She puts me at ease and explained the next steps. Not going after the money when a procedure is unnecessary. Very impressive with her professionalism!

I dont know whether this is related to covid-19 restrictions, the fact that the doctor was pregnant or some fault from my part (not being able to convey the idea that I want to know whats going on with my skin in many respects), but my impression was that Im just taking the doctors time. She came, barely looked at me, believed all the diagnoses I assumed for myself (Im a linguist with no medical education) and left. I got some prescription, the assistants explained to me what to do, but I had an unpleasant feeling that nobody cared about me, and they just wanted me to go away asap.

Dr. Lin and her MA Gabby were fantastic. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, quick. I can’t say enough good things and would definitely recommend to anyone else!!

Dr. Lin seemed fine, but the management of the practice was poor. Made an appointment for a specific procedure that both the practice website and the scheduler I spoke with indicated could be done at the Rockville office. Took time off from work for the appointment only to arrive and discover that in fact what I had come in for WAS NOT done at the Rockville location and that I needed to go to an entirely different practice. Customer/Patient experience does not seem to be a priority to this practice.

This practice is well organized and efficient. After arriving just before 10:30 for my appointment, I was brought into the exam room, had my check up and quick procedure and was out of the office before 11 am. Everyone was extremely friendly and kind. Recommend highly to anyone looking for a dermatologist. FYI - I saw Dr. Benjamin Lockshin at the Rockville location.

I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. I was seen immediately by Dr. Lockshin and his staff. All my questions and concerns were dealt with with the doctors usual friendly, professional manner. The receptionist even helped me make an appointment for my wife upon my arrival.Overall service and demeanor of the entire staff is exceptional.My entire visit only took 20 minutes and left me feeling very good.

Friendly and informative nurse and doctor. Procedure done, checkout quick - what more to you want? Excellent experience, I recommend this office.

Had a great appointment yesterday at DermAssociates in Rockville. The front office staff was efficient and helpful, as was the nursing assistant. Dr. Janet Lin was kind, courteous and professional. After years of not seeing the Derm, I had a laundry list of things that needed checking, and Dr. Lin helped me with everything!

Efficient check-in process. Polite and friendly staff all around. Dr. Lin is super personable and friendly. Makes being in a doctors office more like visiting someone you know vs just being next. Dr. Lin also explained the condition in detail and attended to the necessary treatment in a manner that made me very comfortable and 100% sure that she knew exactly what she was doing. While all the time continuing to exude an amazingly friendly and relaxed demeanor.

My visit with Dr. Cowen was wonderful and I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone! He was extremely professional while being warm, very knowledgeable while being easy to understand, he took me from the waiting room quickly and completed my evaluation in record time - all while I felt like like I had more than enough time and attention given to me. I had my concerns squelched and my options clearly laid out for me. I don’t think it could’ve gone better! Will be sticking with Dr. Cowen for all my dermatology needs and sending everyone his way.

Spent about 5 minutes, wanted to get away after talking about the first problem, tried to ignore the second, maybe the nurse didn’t tell him? He is nice but flattering the patient is not going to help. Just another dermatologist who does not care about patients.

I’ve been to the Centreville location twice for mole checks - once for myself and once for my daughter. We had to wait a little for my daughter’s appointment but everyone was very friendly and also apologetic about what a hectic day the practice was having. Dr. Lockshin was great once we saw him - professional and kind. He took the time to educate my 12-year-old about what to look for in moles and answer all of our questions. Highly recommend.

All other dermatologists I saw never even asked me any question, just stated it is genetic and sent me home. A friend of mine went to see Dr. Lin and got back her full mane of hair. I decided to give it a try and Dr. Lin has been the first doctor, ever, to prescribe a treatment for my hair loss.

This was my first experience with Derm Associates, and Dr. Cowen, Nurse Caleb, and Office Manager Laura. My experience was a very good one, and Dr. Cowen gave me a thorough skin check (something Ive never had done before) and a complete explanation of the actine keratoses on the top of my head, the freezing of the two spots, and advice for reducing the exposure of the top of my head to the sun for prevention purposes.My only complaint is that I tried calling in on Saturday (9/11/21) morning to double-check on the address in Rockville, and all I got was a robo-answering machine, and, when I pushed the number 4 as directed to find out about location information, it took me back to the original message. So, I had to go line to find the address, which took it little while, because the Rockville address does NOT appear in all of the links to Derm Associates information.When I got to the office, Laura explained that Saturday is not a regular day, so Derm Associates does not answer the phones on Saturdays. However, I would say that if youre open for appointments, your switchboard should be open to receive patient telephone calls. And you should fix your robo-answering machine so that when you press the buttons as directed, you actually get the information that pushing the button is supposed to give you. For what its worth.....

Edward Cowen is incredibly friendly, patient, and makes sure to try to get to the root cause of the issue. He does not make you feel like youre being rushed. Proper bedside manner is what decides whether a patient returns or not, and its really nice that a doctor, for once, understands that.

First the office made me wait almost an hour. When the doctor came to see he just looked at my face and said he will prescribe medication. And asked if I had any question. He didn’t even spend 5 min. He couldn’t even apologize properly. There are better derm offices out there.

Dr. Lin is Personable and makes you feel comfortable speaking with her regarding your concerns and reason for visit. An assistant is present along with the doctor during visit. My only ask is that perhaps Derm Associates would consider giving patient a private moment with doctor before the Assistant steps in the room during checkup.
