I’ve been to the spa several times over the years and I can say I was rather dissatisfied with this trip. I booked the cosmo package (massage, facial, pedi) for me and tribeca (massage, mani, pedi) for my mom. I did not care for my masseuse’s (Amanda I think?) style but that’s not so bad. My issue is I have lymph node it my neck that’s enlarged (has been for years) and she kept pushing on it even after I told her it was not a knot but an enlarged lymph node. I suppose I could have really raised a stink and stopped the massage but IMO a professional should only have to be told by the client once that they don’t like something. My mom and I were doing a side by side massage and I didn’t want to disturb her experience.Facial was nice and relaxing (Brooke). She did my moms massage and mom enjoyed it.Pedicure (Fendi) was ok. I think I’ve decided I just don’t enjoy the way they do them at UR, nothing against my tech.They were also not timely. We were supposed to be there for 3.5 hours. It was 4.25 before we were done. That might not seem like much but I’m diabetic and for me a 45 minute delay at lunch is a lot.And lastly almost NONE OF THEM were wearing masks. Of all the employees I saw in my 4 hours in the spa only 3 we’re wearing masks and one of those is because I asked her to put it on. I called *in advance* to confirm they had a mask policy and was assured over the phone all employees would be wearing them. I definitely feel lied to regarding this.Over all, I likely won’t be back. I’m not doing to spend $175 and leave feeling unhappy with my experience.

I had the most amazing facial today with Summer Silva. She did such an amazing job and so professional. Highly recommend her. She customized my facial and its was over the top. If I could rate a 10 I would. For I already have my next appointment with Summer set. Great job love her.

This place was voted the best spa in the North state for a reason. However, there is a rather wide range of skill levels in their staff. How your service goes really depends on who you get. For example, a couple of the massage therapist will actually stop mid stroke to fiddle with their music- which is a rookie mistake. Others clearly know better and can practically render me unconscious.Their best services are on their regular menu. The specials can be fun, but they are more gimmicky than anything else.

My wife and I went in for pedicures. Really not impressed. The young girl who did my toes, didnt seem like she knew what she was doing. My cuticles werent trimmed. I then had to decide on either a foot massage or removing the dead skin, Really? Why wouldnt I get both ? After the massage, and it wasnt more than a light rub, my lower legs and feet were left oiley. No I cant recommend. Collectively neither of us were satisfied. On a side note, there were two other ladies giving pedicures and after watching them perform on other clients, they were exceptional, we would give them a try.

50/50 about this spa. The facial and body scrubs were amazing, along with lunch included with the full spa day treatment and complimentary drinks.However it took a month and half of repetitive reaching out to finally get an appointment and I had to ask about the cuticles of the manicure after noticing they were not done on the pedicure.I did see on gal after a massage who appeared to be floating (figuratively), however my experience with massage was not quite as satisfying.Maybe a hit and miss in my circumstance, but atmosphere was most delightful.

My daughter was up visiting and I really wanted to treat her to a nice quality experience. On a side note, I specifically asked Amanda, the owner who scheduled our appointment, if we would get our legs massaged and she said yes we would. WELL WE DID NOT. We got there and they didnt even have my daughter scheduled. So as a last minute fix, they put two sitting chairs together. Squished together, they started to work on us. I will say the ladies that worked on us were really nice. However, when we left, our heels (which were rough and dry to begin with), were no better then we got there. Not smooth whatsoever. Very, very sad that this experience was a total waste of $150.00(And that was after a gift certificate). Will never go back again.

Have had a few services here. Highly recommend The Cosmopolitan as a nice treat-yourself package. My most recent mani/pedi service was very relaxing, though I wish they had something to help my nails dry a bit more before leaving. They got messed up when getting out my wallet to pay :-/

Clean facility, friendly staff and competitive pricing. I have been coming to Urban Retreat since 2019 and loved my first year there! Sadly, the quality of services have gone down the last year :( I keep hoping Ill have a the experience I did when I first started going, but that just hasnt been the case.

After being evacuated from the Dixie fire, I had knots everywhere. They got me in without an appointment. Thank you for a great massage!

Booked over a month ahead, was given an early spot. So we drove an hour down the hill for it. Not only did it not get in books somehow they didn’t seem to get anyone on schedule correctly. Another group in front of us were also not scheduled correctly, so they left hoping we could fill their spots. The manager came in said they are booked and the best they could do for us is reschedule us. Their sorry made it feel as if I was in the wrong and their screw up was my fault.

Amazing massages. Horrible nail services. I will be going back for massages but never again for my nails.. polish is uneven, nails are damaged, can see my nails through the gel on on all fingers. 3 hours for a mani pedi not impressed. Other women were getting hot towels, foot and hand rubs, not a service I recieved after dropping quite a wod of $ on the day...

My wife and I booked a couples massage for 10:30, but when they got there they put us in separate rooms. There seemed to be a big mess up on their part when it came to the bookings. Needless to say it was a overall disappointment in the experience since we got separated without notice, although my therapist was nice. Although it felt more like a deep tissue massage and was pretty painful, when we had booked just a regular massage.

I love the ambiance of Urban Retreat. All their staff are kind and I have enjoyed quality facials, massages and pedicures. We need to support our local businesses and with the high stress of Covid times it is a great place for self care! I also love their seasonal specials.❤️

These folks got me in with an appt same day within about an hour of my call, and I had a wonderful experience. I was having a pretty rough day and decided to do a bit of self care. Fendi (Fendy?) Waxed my brows and she did an absolutely amazing job. They look great, the whole process hardly hurt, and she was so nice and thorough! Ill definitely be back soon.

Have been here once a while ago and had a great massage. So today when I woke up hurting terribly and having not slept at all the night before, I thought Id call and see if they could get me in for a pregnancy massage this morning. They did, and I was grateful they could get me in......But my massage was a big disappointment.It felt like my massage therapist had little to no experience with pregnancy massage

Cameron was one of the best massage therapist I had, unfortunately Ive heard he wont be there anymore. He is the reason they get 5 stars, hopefully his replacement will be equally as great!

My fiancé and I both booked massages online .I went in and loved the ambiance when I walked in. I booked a pregnancy massage I was so excited. I walked into the massage room got ready for my message and with in 5 mins of my hour massage the music turned off. She kept trying to get it to work but couldn’t so all I could hear after that was her breathing. Over all it was the worst massage I have ever gotten not relaxing didn’t feel any better after I left. I was really disappointed. My Fiancé was going the next day and he happened to get the same women. I didn’t tell him my full experience because I wanted to see what he thought before I told him. He called me immediately after and also said he didn’t enjoy his massage he got a deep tissue. I never write reviews but we were both unhappy with our experience here. Nothing wrong with the facility very clean , the front desk was nice and helpful. Just didn’t enjoy the massage experience.

It’s my first time trying to book Ladies Night for a team of five people, got very disappointed of the lack of communication from their adminstrator Makia , hardly follow up with my appointment request, answered none of my questions (just basic question since it’s my first time!) ... I had to made 3 phone calls to the office, so the table receptionist got my appointment done... then she didn’t send me confirmation email, I have to follow up again, with ZERO APOLOGY and said it’s booked.If I’m the owner, I won’t keep a customer representative like this. So unprofessional and unresponsive...But the services overall was very good. The therapist are very friendly. Everyone had a great time!!

Bought my wife a massage, mani, peti package. She loved it. When they allow couple massages again we are gonna book it. Friendly and caring staff, decent prices. Well worth the level of service provided.

My husband & I went to get pedicures together. His girl was awkward. She wouldn’t make eye contact with him, she wouldn’t talk to him, only to me. She also left him with cuticle oil all over his feet & only one towel warmer on, without a word & brought someone else in & started on her manicure way before my pedicure had finished. He had to ask her to get the dirt out from under his toenails & he came home with one toenail clipping hanging off. They only offered him a 25% discount. They shouldn’t even have charged him! The pedicure room is cramped & dingy. It looks like the back stage of a school stage. Five pedicure chairs & one manicure table all in one room. No privacy, at all. I was happy with my manicure until I got home & noticed one nail was wrinkled, like she hadnt waited long enough for previous layers to dry & my big toe smudged off 30 mins after I got home. Surely it should have been dry by then! See pics. After some persuasion they gave us a full refund, but my husband had to argue with the women to get my original tip back. The owner also took the liberty of canceling my upcoming pedicures I had booked with a girlfriend!! I wonder why they moved out of Win River Casino? I LOVED that place. It was gorgeous, all the girls were very professional.

Samatha, owner of Absolute Spa, is wonderful! She follows strict Covid protocols, was professional and kind and suggested and picked out just the right products. She took a lot of time to make sure I had exactly what I needed. I love the ambiance with jazz playing in the background. I highly recommend her for services and products!

Ive had a lash lift, Pedicure And I had a 17 year olds birthday party spa day. Every experience was outstanding. The services provided were top notch. The personnel are highly trained, Professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Visit time 07/11/2020 6:15pm we got two pedicures. Everything was going great until valerie the woman giving my girlfriend her pedicure mistook bone for a callus and scraped her skin off to the bone. Instead of admitting the issue and decide to claim it was a chemical reaction. One week later she is still barely walking. No discount was offered or return service. The icing on the cake is I now have a foot fungus. 106 dollars for injuries and a fungiThank you for the splendid afternoon was a real treat.

My husband and I went here for a spa day and it was wonderful! Everyone was so nice and the ambiance is very relaxing.I got a prenatal massage and my massage therapist was so sweet. She was constantly checking to make sure I was comfortable and was patient when I needed to roll to my side to feel more comfortable. I was so impressed with her.My husbands massage therapist was also very sweet and did an excellent job making him feel relaxed.We then got pedicures and a hand treatment, the girls we had were unbelievably nice and made a special effort to make sure I was comfortable since I am pregnant. Honestly that was the best pedicure I have ever had.I left feeling so relaxed and pampered, I will go back here in a heart beat!

Love this place, everyone who works here is so nice, and great at what they do. I’ve gotten massages, and pedicures here that have all been phenomenal. I come here regularly for eyelash extensions, and I go to Amber. She is extremely time efficient and light handed, I’ve never been poked or pinched, and of course my eyelashes always look beautiful! Allison has also done my lashes, and she always does an amazing job as well! Would highly recommend Urban Retreat to anyone!

This place was amazing, first time getting a massage before. We did the decadent duo couple massage and they were so nice and were very gentle and the atmosphere was very zen and relaxing. Also a great view of the Sacramento river from the room! Definitely gonna have to make this a regular thing.

Lemon Drop was a gift from my Wonderful Husband. This was my first time and I will be back very soon. Very professional, clean, personable staff that made for a amazing afternoon. They customize treatments to each client. I was very well taken care. Thank you so very much for taking the time to allow my day to be relaxing, stress free and enjoyable! My fiancé and I went in for a couples massage and had an amazing experience. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted and asked if we needed refreshments. Our massage was incredibly relaxing and the atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend Cori. She was professional and applied the perfect amount of pressure. I love the atmosphere at Urban Retreat - the colors, furniture, and lighting all feel contemporary and stylish, but the spa doesnt feel so fancy that I wonder why did they let ME in here? The staff are friendly and very competent. Almost every visit has left me feeling pampered and special.

This is an excellent day spa. Ive had massages and pedicures, and every experience has been delightful. Awesome staff and a beautiful building near the river. Facility is tastefully decorated, always clean and peaceful, and the complimentary cocktails are always a nice touch after a long day!

My husband and I went in for a couples massage for our anniversary and it was the best first experience! The massage was great and the staff was friendly. The only improvement I hope to experience next time was a better welcoming at the front desk. Other than that, a great Spa feeling with affordable prices!

Absolutely wonderful massage, beautiful rooms and just overall relaxing experience. So happy I decided to pay the extra to do an hour long massage (i won a gift certificate at work) definitely worth it, and I will most definitely be going back.

The girls are so amazing and the packages they offer are too. Had a couples massage with added hot stones and foot reflexology could not be happier. The atmosphere is so relaxing as well the music and aromas. They also have cocktails if you go with a group or really want to relax.

Urban retreat is an oasis. It is a very relaxing atmosphere. Atmosphere is pretty special, nice touches such as the robes and beverages made available. The one thing I didnt enjoy was the pedicure room. Everyone in the same room is possibly fun if youre with a group but coming in alone and sitting with the group of strangers laughing and carrying on isnt as fun.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Coming from SoCal where there are spas and pedicure places on practically every corner, I was actually a little disappointed. I enjoyed my facial and the massage was decent, but the pedicure was subpar on multiple levels. They dont have massage chairs, the foot massage was practically non existent, and there wasnt even an option to add a flower or jewels to my toes; I am used to being able to get a better service for less money. On the other hand, they hand out free drinks like they are water. I will go back, just not for pedicures.

A trip to Urban Retreat is always a great way to enhance any day. Whenever I want to feel special, I make an appointment for a pedicure. Sitting back with a cocktail, looking out over the water and being pampered in their lovely room is a wonderful way to kill some time. Both Roxi and Fabiola have worked on me and I was very satisfied each time. Great selection of color and my pedi held up for well over a month. You wont be disappointed!

Got a couples massage and loved it! The massage includes hang time in the steam or dry sauna! Great service, clean and reasonably priced! We went to the Casino location.

Relaxing atmosphere. Very professional and incredibly caring. Very sweet people and wonderful vibe. When stressed you want the personal attention and that is exacally what you get. Pedicure was with Karen and my massage was with Khloe. Both women are amazing and highly recomended. I will be returning and recomending to friends and family. Thank you ladies!

The first time I went to the new location was at the grand opening. I was very disappointed in that because some of the services they were going to showcase they didnt do. It was a hodgepodge atmosphere. We didnt really know what was going on other than wandering around and not finding the services you were looking for. I did however book services that night with a friend. Here is that review:The atmosphere there is very nice. Over all the workers there were polite and kind and everyone was very helpful. Im not a frue frue type person so personally I could do without the music while getting a massage but thats just a personal preference. The only negative thing is a friend and I were waiting for our massage and we were in the back corner talking and we started laughing about something and an employee came out of an empty room (it was empty because thats the room we went into) and told us to be quiet. I felt like I was being chastised by a school teacher.

I went to Urban Retreat to use a gift certificate given to me by my son. It is a very warm, soothing environment and I had a great manicure, eyelash and eyebrow tinting. I have visited several times since and always feel great about it when I leave.

I was recently a part of a girls night out event and I have to say I felt pampered from start to finish. I received a wonderfully relaxing massage, followed by a pedicure. There was such a wonderful atmosphere, in particular you could tell that the employees enjoyed working together which helped add to the relaxing environment. Whether you are part of a small gathering or on your own, you wont be disappointed by this place. The pedi/mani area has a large window overlooking the river which really is quite a view. And, with so many services to choose from, it really is to go-to place in town!

They took care of my Girlfriend. Deffently a place to take that special someone In your life. Its worth it!

Urban Retreat has accomplished creating a relaxing and regal environment. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I had a fantastic experience the last time I visited. I received a pedicure from Jenny, and she just spoiled me. The Spa offers a lot of services but I can only speak for the pedicures. I limited my rating to four stars because I have been four times for a pedicure and only once did the service I received seem to match the price. It can be pricy but they do run specials from time to time.

I knew I needed a massage, my body seemed to be shutting down. I contacted Urban Retreat that morning and asked if they had any availability that day to get me in. They are always VERY accomidating and friendly and willing to work with you. I was asked if they could call me right back to confirm. They contacted me in 10 minutes and I was on my way. When I got there Courtney was my therapist. All I can say is that she ROCKS! I told her my problem and she was able to work my muscles and I was able to walk out of there relaxed, and refreshed. I felt like a new woman. I highly recomend this day spa. If you need to go just because, or for a girls day treat, this is where you should go. They also do very great pedicures too. Dont just limit yourself to one treatment, you should try them all!

I love to go to Urban Retreat for massages. The atmosphere is lovely and warm, the receptionists are so friendly, and the masseuse is always incredible. I leave feeling like a new woman every time, and I dont go anywhere else.

First of all, I love the atmosphere at Urban Retreat. You really feel like youve gone to a resort: it smells relaxing, calming music plays and someone really knows how to decorate! And then, they dont disappoint when it comes to your treatments. I have had the best massages EVER here, quality facials and perfectly done mani and pedis. Really, this is one of Reddings premier day spas- at prices that allow you to treat yourself well without feeling guilty.

I love Urban Retat! When it comes to birthdays, an anniversary or just a pampering day, this is where my husband turns to get a gift certificate for me. He knows I love their pedicures, facials & massage services. Last time I went in to use my gift certificate, I was late because I hadnt realized they moved (it was a gift from my husband and he hadnt said anything about their new space). Thankfully, they were extremely accomodating and moved things around so that I could still get my pedi and massage that day. Most places would of had to reschedule for another day.Thank you Urban Retreat!! It is always a TREAT when I get to come see you!
