I gave this place a five stars only because I read about what they do. As a civilian I was not able to enter into the location but I read that it does help those who are in need of Home furnishings and thats why I gave it a five-star.

Nice people. Very accommodating. The docks are behind the building in a small parking lot. There was a picnic table in the no parking spot across from the docks that needed to be moved in order to back in.

I am new in N.C. Need furnitures but they say you need referral from other agencies. Other agencies also don’t help me they all refuse any kinds of help .The Green Chair Project has a “ self certification “ option that you can certify yourself to get a furniture. They also denied that rudely saying I have to have a referral. But how about self certification means ? They don’t explain that. They simply told me to never contact them.Rather they should be a help to me to contact one of their partners that they call to refer me in order to help me.They not only highly rude but also unethical.

This place is great. It isnt usually open to the general public, but they do have sales throughout the year where people can look through the inventory to help them raise money. This place is really for the charitys clients to furnish their homes. The charity seeks to help low income families to get access to some nicer pieces in their home and to help families have enough furniture for their homes. They welcome donations, especially of good quality/gently used furniture, dishes, and other home furnishings.

It was a heart warming and amazing experience. The staff were very nice to my mother, she was allowed to pick out her own household items and she felt so good about it. Two ladies walked with her through the whole process, no rush, and treated her better than some sales people treat customers about to spend thousands in their stores. Project Green Chair is a great Program. If you can, make a donation and keep them thriving!!!

Contacted Alice on FB Marketplace about some frames that they had. Told her that I would have someone come by shortly after 12 the next day to purchase them. She said that sounded great. When he got there at 12:30 she had already sold them 45 minutes prior. Contacted her after he went by there and she said they were first come first serve, which was news to me because we had an agreement that I would have someone by there after 12. Wont purchase anything from this particular organization due to horrible customer service.

Well I needed furniture after losing everything due to a catastrophe in my life. I was advised to go to Green Chair Project thru a social help agency. I went. However, they guided me to pick from their worst items. I did get a box of surprise stuff that was filled with plastic containers I could not use and I did get a used iron I was happy to receive. However, what floored me was that their profit making room was off limits where the half way decent furniture was located. I felt something odd about the things they were pushing / guiding me to select. They did not seem right. I chose a sofa, a stuffed chair, a night stand and a table. When I got the stuff home I immediately noticed terrible smells coming from all the items I was gifted. After examining it all closely by looking at the underside of each item I found out it was all flood damaged stuff with mold and mildew. There was black mold on the inside of the cabinet of the night stands and sofa, tobacco and smoke smell on the stuffed chair, with springs that pushed up through the seat. I itched after sitting on it. It was very disappointing - I could not use any of it.
