I showed up with a painful left knee. Physician Assistant Addison Roe was fantastic. After reviewing the x-rays, Addison determined that I needed a steroid injection to help combat my osteoarthritis. The injection itself was pain free and provided instant relief, and days later I feel like I have a new knee. Thank you so much to Addison and the Wakefield Office. Also, the medical assistant (Jordan) that checked me in was wonderful as well. Thanks again!!

Dr. Correa was amazing. I had been to two other doctors before with some foot pain and was not able to get a solid answer. Dr. Correa was able to diagnose me quickly and gave me some great advice. He gave me some great advice about how much I should actually be running and biking and what I should look for in my running shoes and when to replace. I can’t say enough great things about him. What a great experience! I’m so relieved!

A great experience with the Orthopaedic Specialists today. Check in was a breeze, all done with an iPad and the software used was very nice and easy to check in.Once checked-in… it was also a breeze. He was very detailed and thorough in explaining my imaging results. The provider was warm, engaged and caring. I wasn’t just “talked at” as a patient but he discussed the diagnosis and photos of the MRI/X-ray results in layman terms until I understood them. He also discussed about how my unique medical condition coincided with my Ortho care. Overall a good experience.! I was really worried about being sick with needles in my neck . Dr Watson told me I had nothing to worry about , Dr Watson was up front an very concerned about my well-being. It is a true honor to have Dr Watson do the procedure. I didn’t feel nor did I see the needles. Fantastic job Dr.Watson .

So I have now seen three doctors in this practice (office) and everyone from check-in/check out x-ray, nursing staff & doctors have all been professional, polite, answered any and all questions I may have had & slowly but surely getting there and figuring out what needs to be done.. Addison was fantastic. Even though this is express care, he took his time to explain and listen to any concerns. He made sure to pay attention during the time he was in the room and was able to reassure my kiddo that all was well. He is truly among the best doctors we’ve had in a while! I wish every doctor was as patient, kind and understanding as he was.

Dr. Rion has performed two shoulder surgeries on my husband and we love him. I now need reverse shoulder replacement and immediately wanted Dr. Rion! He’s thorough, sensitive and an excellent surgeon!

I’ve been to both the urgent care clinic at the Wakefield location and the regular office for a follow up. Each visit was very efficient. Really liked both doctors I saw. The building is new and beautiful. I chose this practice because it’s very close to my home and I could quickly get an appt, where Duke Ortho was 2 weeks out. Dr Castle and Dr Neidecker are highly recommended.

I have told everyone I know about how amazed I am not to be in the type of pain I’ve been in for so long. I need to find out what type of injections I received because I had 5 friends message me because they are going through similar issues and all have been in accidents and major back issues but have been suffering because nothing was helping my hip and leg. I hadn’t been back to Ortho NC because unfortunately the deep spinal injections didn’t work but yesterday (but others have tried before and they didn’t help either so not Dr Watson’s fault) but I still have to give it to Michael Stephens because my knees were injected over a year ago and I have had no problems then Jessica amazed me. I was in tears from pain on the way over and drove home not feeling any pain . I must admit , several times today it acted like the pain wanted to break through again but I took I med twice several hours apart and it backed the pain back down again. Thank you. Will keep you updatedI just could not figure out why my hip would suddenly start hurting so badly but when the pain moved down my leg and I was suffering so intensely, I decided to call and see someone again at OrthoNC and I could not be happier. Even if it comes back again full force and I have to get more at least I have had 24 hours of being mostly pain free and hopefully it will continue to work.Thank you Jessica. Driving is one of the few things I can still do but as the leg pain was affecting my accelerator leg, I was really getting starting to get really afraid my driving would be highly affected. This happened before when my knees went but Michael solved that issue thus far then kaboom... all the pain goes to my right hip and leg .I cannot thank ypu enough and recommend you highly . Theres nothing about your time here that will make you think of them as specialists. The doctors may as well punch a stopwatch when they enter the room, minimizing time until they can leave (assuming they actually show up for the visit at all). Twice Ive made an appointment with a DOCTOR and been treated by a PA. Ive had three steroid injections, only one of which actually utilized the appropriate imaging to reach the necessary location. I am still in pain, sans several hundred dollars that I had before coming here.

My son has been going to Orthopedic Specialist of NC: Wakefield Office for 2 months now and has been seen primarily by Austin Beard for a meniscus tear. Austin is an INCREDIBLE therapist! He is incredibly patient, insightful and caring beyond the therapy. He gets to know his patients and takes the time to listen to how they are feeling. I would HIGHLY recommend Austin to anyone looking for a physical therapist especially for sports related injuries.

Jessica is very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and personable. She explained the results of my MRI in a way that allowed me to form a mental visual of my condition. She also thoroughly discussed several courses of treatment so that I could choose the option that I was comfortable with at this time. She is top-notch and I have no hesitation about seeking treatment from her again.

Had to get the cortisone shot and was super nervous about it. Johns assistant held my hand while I got it. 🥰 they dealt with a 24 yr old baby nicely.

Initial visit was perfectly fine. Didnt wait long, specialist was friendly, all the usual stuff. Was charged almost $500 for what is a $45 walking boot. The explanation was that it was for fitting even though all they did was take it out of the package and put it right on my foot. When pressed further the director of the billing department told me thats just what we charge for it.

Dismissive, abrupt, and rude. The worst visit I may have ever experienced and an absolute waste of my time. I’m appalled by the lack of concern or empathy this man had and feel swindled by the recommendations and my visit.

Dr. Ashana answered questions and elaborated when needed for the lay person to understand. He clearly stated the treatment plan and options if needed down-the-road. Overall, it was a pleasant, productive meeting.

Im 3 days out from total hip replacement surgery and doing well. Came home the same day of surgery and had my first P T today. Dr Rion is honest and tells you what you need and what to expect. All his staff are friendly and knowledgeable. So far im completely satisfied! If you need Hip Replacement, dont put it off call him, im looking forward to having my life back!

Dr Neidecker is very knowledgeable with children sports and the injuries that can and do come from them to help them avoid them. He has seen 3 of my children with three different sports injuries. Each time he was very knowledgeable and proactive to help my children get back to competing/ rehearsals asap safety.

Not sure if I saw Mr. Adam Brewer. Gentleman I saw had long hair and was slender. Not the person on the picture of Mr. Brewer . However I had a very good experience with the PA I saw.. Thank you.

Dr. Rion is a caring and concerned physician. He was able to get me back in to PT when Medicare cancelled my visits.

Dr. Ashana is very professional, logical and thoughtful. I came in frustrated with the idea of continuing the process of eliminating potential causes for my pain. He walked me through options and advised me while listening to my concerns. Even though I am moving on to maintaining my care and we were not able to definitively pinpoint the cause of my pain, Dr. Ashana was thorough and very informative. I felt like he cared like I was his sister.

He was a very nice young man that showed his ability to make me feel content with his ability to work with me in helping me with my problem. I would recommend him to anyone that needs someone to help them feel better about themselves. Caring for others is a gift that should be used often.

I have love and appreciate the team of Dr. Wheeless. They never made me feel like a number but as a person. You can tell he cares about his patients abs educating/mentoring those around him. I never feel rushed.Dr. Wheeless follows the patient through the whole process from consult to surgery to post care. He cares about the overall health abs mental well-being of each patient. I was please with the environment as well as the staff. I was lost and I called and the scheduler stayed on the phone with me until I arrived and walked me through the building. The front desks workers were polite. Dr. Stephens staff were lovely and the sportsmanship was awesome. He answered my questions and explained lots of things I was unclear about. I’m glad I met him and I really feel I will have my medical needs met.

Dr. Galland replaced my right knee 10 years ago & unfortunately it’s time to do my left knee. He has a wonderful personality, is compassionate & thorough. He gave me many options & directed me to another surgeon as he no longer does knee replacements. He specializes in rotator cuffs.

The practice is a little slow in seeing patients which is one negative about OrthoNC, however Dr. Wheeless spends time with you even though he is being pushed by staff to keep pace with the patient load. I love his “outside the box” approach to treatments, which minimizes the need for surgery for minor issues. His approach worked for me and I would highly recommend him if you have an issue that may not need to be surgically repaired. He looks at your body chemistry, genetic makeup, hormones, vitamin levels, etc, to evaluate the bigger picture

Fell down some stairs this morning and thought I had broken my ankle... This was the only orthopedic urgent care that was open at 8 AM. It was a little bit of a wait to see someone, but absolutely understandable (and worth it) as we eventually learned they had only one clinician and one technician (who was doing everything from the radiographs to reception) when we were there. She put me in a room where I could lie down and elevate my leg. Found out it was just a really bad sprain. Carlos (the PA) showed me how to wrap the ankle, how to use the crutches, and made sure all of my questions were answered. He and the technician (Im so sorry, I am awful with names) showed us such kindness and were such a blessing today. You can tell that they really care about the people they serve. You guys are amazing and were an absolute God-semd today to my husband and I. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Dr. Neidecker has gotten me through a lot of things. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have graduated Army Air Assault School this past summer. He and his team demonstrate a lot of experience and I continue to come back for any orthopedic issues that I may have.

This new facility is nice but they need organization for checking in and out. It was a mess!!! While Dr Wheeles is nice, I had the worst steroid injection ever and have had a few. Its something about him I cant put my finger on it.

I always receive excellent care at Ortho NC. Ive recommended it to others who have told me how pleased they were with the care they also received.

Marianella is the absolute best. She listens, explains everything that she is doing with great compassion and skill. She has a Masters Degree in Physical therapy so her depth of knowledge is very apparent. She is continually in contact with my referring physician and relays any concerns that she or I might have. I ALWAYS come away from therapy feeling more flexible, stronger and less painful than when I went in.

I loved the way he provided medical terminology as well as everyday language with her so that she could understand her case.Not only did he provide a solution for her immediate needs, but also preventive measures she might take to avoid worsening.

The new office is very open and the staff are helpful and prompt to assist you. There was minimal time waiting in the lounge area and did not have to wait very long in the room before Dr. Galland arrives.
