Ive been a customer of Avance Care for years. Carinne has been absolutely amazing and goes out of her way to ensure Im taken care of. Shes always been there available to me any time Ive had concerns or needed to contact her just with some questions.The very few times Ive run into issues with anything, theyve gone above and beyond to make it right.They are currently very overworked with the recent pandemic, so calling in can be difficult at times, but theyre working hard to find more staff to work the front desk to ensure this is taken care of.

Would highly recommend Avance. My family and I use the Garner location. Always happy with the care we receive! Lyndsay Palmeri is truly the best! Takes the time in listening to my concerns, and also in addressing issues!

I have never encountered a medical office that operates with this level of incompetence.If you are reading this and need assistance with a medical condition that may be time sensitive in any way - I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Details below.--Two weeks ago I attempted to contact the Avance Primary Care - Central Raleigh office to make an appointment as a new patient. After several failed attempts to reach them on the phone (always direct to receptionist voicemail) I used their online portal and selected an open appointment slot with Dr. Brayboy.I got an email acknowledging the appointment request, and indicating that I would later receive a confirmation. Over the past two weeks I have tried to call this office on several different occasions, on different days at different times during regular business hours. Always direct to receptionist voicemail.Two days before the schedule appointment I miss a call at 5:04 p.m. from their office. I immediately try to return the call, straight to voicemail.The day before my scheduled appointment I get an email to sign up for their patient portal. I do that, and once again try to contact their office via phone to confirm the appointment. Straight to voicemail.The morning of my appointment I fill out their new patient form and attempt to call several times. Straight to voicemail.I show up to their office at the correct time, and am absolutely shocked to see that there is a receptionist that actually exists working in this office. She informs me I do not have an appointment, and further that Dr. Brayboy is not accepting new patients. I ask if there are any other medical doctors on staff, to which the receptionist answers there is an OD, but shes very busy too.I cannot speak to the merits of the medical staff (since it seems impossible to schedule them). As for the rest of the operation, the level of incompetence is staggering.

I really love Carrine & I think shes a very knowledgeable physician, shes one of the few medical professionals that has listened to me when I told her I felt something was wrong. Thats why Im so disappointed in my experience with Avance. I had a telemed appointment in April that was very brief, no more than 15 minutes. This was supposed to cost me a $35 copay. Months later, I get a bill for $400. I had another appointment later that week, so I brought it up. I was told by 3 people that they would contact billing to have it corrected. Today, I get a notice that I owe the $400 within the next 30 days. This office has lost my trust completely & Im not sure that Ill be returning, seeing that they believe this behavior is acceptable. If you decide to go here, be very cautious & make sure youve saved hundreds just in case you need a 10 minute conversation with a doctor

Horrible canceled my appointment within and hour prior no call or anything. Cannot reach anyone on the phone. Later Jessica called and helped me with my appointment. The online portal is hard to navigate for telehealth and new clients. Over not a bad experience

Recently moved up here and found Avance Care. Shivas is awesome! Takes the time to listen to my concerns. Never feel rushed. The staff is super friendly. Had an issue with getting my records from my old office, and they stayed on top of them to receive them. Appointments are easy to schedule. They call back quickly. Only issue is that parking can be a pain in their lot. But otherwise everything else is awesome.

I would not chat with staff online, the person I talked tried to be a doctor and made it extremely hard to work with them.

Great staff and friendly doctors!They will never, ever answer your phone calls though unless you go through the online portal.

I REALLY loved my primary care PA here and loved the staff at first. However, this past year was awful with this Avancecare location on Oberlin Rd.The first time I tried to do a specific thing during my annual physical, the receptionist told me to book two separate appointments so for the second, theyd be prepared and the doctor would be primed for it. I ended up being charged for a full office visit for the second one. Had I known, I wouldve done it all at once since it was not taken care of on that visit. I understood and it was fine. It was my misunderstanding.I came back several months later to have the the procedure done and I ended up having a consultation again (basically what I did during my last visit) so I had to pay for another out of pocket office visit. Since I was already there and paying, I inquired about something else I have been wanting to look into that requires follow up.They called me to book a follow up and I was hesitant because I spent so much on healthcare this year already. The receptionist told me if I did a virtual visit, itd be $70 vs $200+ for in person so I did it. A few weeks later, i get billed for $200+ visit and found out they charge the same in person or virtual. To make matters worse, the receptionist suggested I could meet my PA that week at around 6:05pm. Apparently there is a surprise fee that comes with booking anything after 6pm so that was fun!So after four appointments in a year which is super rare for me, I still didnt get what I needed originally done. I had to go back and forth with the receptionist to find out they didnt even order what I needed for the procedure yet and just begun the process of ordering after my fourth appointment!From my first time trying to get this done in July 2020 to finally now in May 2021, I was finally able to have it done with five total appointments to get there. Mind you, this is a very standard thing to get done.I spoke to the office manager several times and she was very nice but gave me generic answers explaining that it was my insurances fault because every insurance gets billed differently. I totally understand that completely, but there has had to be a way along this saga to have avoided something.I am really so so sad because I thought I found my place but my wallet cant stand another year of so many miscommunications/misunderstandings.My point of feedback: please have better communication and record keeping to avoid this because you have the foundations all there but I simply was so stressed every time I would call because I was never sure what bill I would get after a visit.Please consider this if you are booking here. Thank you!

I’ve been going to this advance care for a few years now. It’s always easy to get an appointment, everyone from the front desk to the nurses are a super friendly, and the PA I see, Carinne Woodworth, is amazing.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT ACTUAL CARE. They will rarely if ever pick up the phone. I have a severely herniated disc, which was misdiagnosed by them, then once I got so bad, had an mri, and multiple days went by after they got my diagnoise, with them showing complete apathy towards getting me to a specialist to help. Then anytime I needed a refill they told me to contact the pharmacy, which I did. Then nothing would get refilled until I complained, via voice-mail because they dont pick up the phone EVER.Their excuse, were busy... please go somewhere else. They may be fine for routine physicals, but when you really have a real problem they have dont a care or help. Expect that you will need to complain just to gett the most basic help. Worst care Ive ever received

SO helpful! I have an ED and my provider and all the staff were super accommodating, kind, and understanding. I felt really safe during my visit. I am so appreciative and definitely recommend Avance!!!

Excellent experience at Avance. I switched to Avance because my primary care provider never had time for me and it took too long to get an appointment. Avance scheduled me quickly and everyone I interacted with was professional and focused on patient care. Also a very convenient location. Would recommend to anyone who is experiencing frustration with big medical practices.

Rude, unattentive staff that would rather have conversations amongst themselves instead of helping patients and answering questions. I was told my last appointment, my blood work, etc would be covered by my insurance and now I have a $280 bill. I was never made known about extra charges for things regarding visits past 6 pm, and I have been charged extra for it. Ive paid this place over a thousand dollars in the past year and Ive only gone to get a prescription , wax removal, and standard blood work.

A good practice, but dont be late. Im 88 years old. I was 6 minutes late. I drove from Clayton, NC to get there. They wouldnt see me. I had to leave.

Incompetent.. they woman I saw wasn’t trying to listen to me about what’s going on with my own body...scheduled appointment to be seen for 10 minutes and told oh well I want to do this so you’ll have to make 2 more appointments!!!???!!?? What??? Appointments cost me money each visit. If u knew u wanted to do extra testing I should have been made aware before the visit!

TL;DR - Go here if you want providers and front desk that are genuinely invested in the well being of each and every one of their patients-------------------------------------------------I have been going to Avance Oberlin for the past 2 years after moving to the Raleigh area, and have seen multiple care team members as a patient. This is a practice that truly values excellent care and patient experience over all. The only downside is that their providers often times have full schedules, but the amazing front desk team does everything they can to find the most convenient appointment time with another provider. Having trained front desk teams across the country, I can say that the best teams are those who are bought into the goal of the practice- the front desk team loves their job. Not only is that incredibly contagious, but it directly impacts the overall patient experience in a positive way.From a clinical standpoint, I have had amazing experiences with Dr. Fruth, Dr. Brayboy, Dr. Afonso, Daniel Hauschild, and Alies Barton. My first visit with every single one of them made me feel like an existing patient- they listened to what I had to say, and I didnt feel the all too common clocks ticking, we have another appointment soon that I have felt at many other practices in the past. I feel as if I have a personal relationship with these folks, and they are genuinely invested in my health and mental well being. I wouldnt choose any other practice.As a side note, Avance was as proactive as any practice could be when the pandemic started. I have not gone in for a Physical appointment since January, but I am aware that they are taking active pre screening measures to ensure the health and safety of their staff and Patients.The Telehealth experience is also incredible. Were still very much in the first generation of Telehealth visits, and Avance has made it seamless for me. The few times where a technical difficulty has happened (user error), the amazing front desk was on the phone immediately to help get me where I needed to go.

Dr Brayboy is a wonderful doctor. I appreciate that he takes the time to listen to you and works with you on treatments. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met... and the rest of their staff is great as well. They have a discount program for self pay that helps make it super affordable

I live closer to two other locations of this office, but, drive further to come here because of how great this office is. They are organized and take care of all of the little details. The Dr. I had been seeing became the Medical Director and I saw a new person today. Corinne was awesome and I highly recommend. She took my concerns extremely seriously and actually listened to me. Finding practitioners who listen are harder to find than you may think. Yay Avance Care Central Raleigh!

I had a virtual visit with the doctor who suggested I come in and see her and get an EKG and chest Xray from COVID 19 complications. Once there, I never saw/spoke to a doctor just got the tests and left. I was told Id get an answer by the end of the day or the latest Monday -my appointment was Friday 1/29. I had to end up calling back multiple times the following week, because no one ever called with my test results. Then, I never received any bill, update, etc. I got an email 3/19 with lab results...from an appointment on 1/29. I then found that I had been billed, given a late fee, and sent to collections. I never received a single bill- and only discovered the charges because of the lab results (emailed 48 days after my appointment). I called the billing office and they blamed it on the USPS for not receiving a bill... they also billed me for a doctors visit while never seeing a doctor. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else. This place is a joke.

I had such a great experience here! I recently moved to Raleigh and this was my first time here. Every single person who answered the phone was so friendly and informative! Everything is so simple and paperwork can be done online. I had a virtual appointment which went very smoothly and was quite efficient. I also went into the office for a blood test. I am not a fan of giving blood, and the nurse was fantastic; quick and painless! I will return here for all my medical needs from now on!

Ive always had positive experiences at Avance and Dr. Brayboy is wonderful!. The staff is as well! I feel truly heard during my appointments and not rushed.

I love this place! My first primary since leaving Philadelphia! First of all the staff is always on point! And friendly. NP Shivas has the best sense of humor (which if you know me you know I need that!). He explains everything, refers you when needed (I mean like right away) and advises you to feel free to contact him (and I actually think he means it 😂 jk- he does)! This place has been great. I have been coming here for 4 years now and each time I have had a great experience. I have had multiple injuries which have all been taking care of. They are quick and care a lot about your health. They even have televisits for patients who do not feel comfortable coming in.

The front desk, doctors, nurses, & PAs are always great but the woman who drew my blood was TERRIBLE and its not because of a mistake because that happens sometimes. Her being unprofessional and uncaring are why I say that! (Im large, my veins are large, they are easy to see, and I have no fear of needles so I dont flinch) This woman stuck me so deep then fished around for my vein back and forth then when she got it proceed to not secure it while changing vials pushing it through my vein and had the nerve to say your vein stopped bleeding. As if that were a thing or my fault. She finished by doing the same thing to my other arm. Ruining a significant part of my day until bending either arm at the elbow wasnt very very unpleasant.

It is super easy to schedule a appointment with Mrs. Carinne Woodworth, PA. She is so knowledgeable and compassionate and easy to get along with. She answers all my questions when I see her, and she never makes me feel rushed. The convenience of tele-med appointments is also a big thumbs up for me! I am so glad I found this provider and clinic!!

I love this doctor office!!! everything about it is super convenient and professional. I have been seeing Carinne for over a year now and have never been more happy with a provider. She is never in a rush, is extremely knowledgeable, and is ALWAYS listening to what the patient has to say. My experience with the staff at Avance Care Central Raleigh was truly pleasant. Wahiba Kataoui, FNP-C and Ericka provided world class patient care. They both gave me the nostalgic feel of what I remember how health providers used to be. Caring, engaging and sincerely wanting the patient to be at their optimal level of health.

I recently had a medical issue thst required immediate attention. The staff at Avance got me in quickly and treated me with such care and respect during the episode. Been seeing them for 1.5 years now. Every appointment I have an issue with them with something. I was once 3 mins late and was waiting in line to check in and they told me they couldnt see me because I was late. My doctor once told me she didnt know about a (common) medication and needed to look it up in the medical book. Super reassuring. I will not be going back. They are not understanding whatsoever. Worst doctors office I have ever been too.

I really like Avance Care and particularly Dr. Shivas. He is so caring and helpful. Hes very funny too which is nice to help break up conversations. He listens and makes good recommendations. The staff are great too! I love how easy it is to make appointments. Two points relating to COVID - some of the staff dont wear their masks fully (below their nose) or move them to the side to talk. Also I was in today and multiple patients were wearing masks improperly and it would have made patients feel safer if the staff had corrected them when they walked in. This is my only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Been going here for over two years and the doctors and staff have been great. Able to make timely appts. Can see all my test results thru their app. Good insurance coverage and referrals. They administer B12 injections. Only minus is that perhaps like many other places there is still too much paperwork. Would prefer more online or digital forms.

My experience has been awesome every time I go. Very knowledgeable on steps I need to take to improve my health. All the staff has been great, they deserve an A+!

Ive been seeing Carinne for a while now, she has always been great and super sweet. She listens to me when I have concerns and has always been there to help when I needed it. Other staff (MAs and PCs) have been great as well.

I am so happy with the care I have received since establishing as a patient earlier this year. You can communicate with the office and your doctor with ease, and appointment times are very flexible. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Dr. Brayboy has been. He is so patient, thorough, and kind, which isn’t always easy to find in healthcare. I highly recommend this practice, which is a huge compliment from a nervous patient like me.

Avance Primary Care is hands down the best Dr.s office in Raleigh! I always have an amazing experience here. Carinne Woodworth is my primary physician and is both knowledgeable and understanding. The staff is incredibly attentive and my nurse Erica lightens the mood with her sense of humor and ability to give me shots without feeling a thing. Scheduling appointments is incredibly easy and Im always in and out super fast. Highly recommend!

Injured my foot this February and after a few weeks of still being in pain decided to get an xray in March to make sure everything was ok. Got an xray, doc said it was all fine and printed off diagnosis papers from the internet (I could have done that and did before coming in) and said itll just take some more time to heal. Left feeling good about the xray saying everything was fine but kind of disappointed with the care/next steps from the doc since I was in pain. Fast forward to this week (December) after still being in pain this entire year, I get another xray and then a CT scan at a different orthopedic office and they tell me its been fractured this whole time. So pretty annoyed and confused at how a fracture could have been missed on the initial xray in March at this Avance Care office. Now the bone in my foot is dead and I have to have surgery for them to remove it. Honestly, I dont recommend this office.

Great experience, easy to check in and did not have to wait. Carinne and Joe were awesome. Front desk staff very helpful. Everyone took time necessary to answer questions, I never felt rushed.

I would suggest that everyone avoid this facility at all costs.I came in for a normal appointment and was exposed to many staff members who were not wearing face masks both in the waiting and lab areas. Against my better judgement I returned for a follow up and observed the same behavior although by that point the people who were wearing their mask incorrectly had already given up on trying at all. I did give two stars since scheduling an appointment is quick and easy, but now I see why they arent busy.

My wife and I have been patients here at Advance Care for over 5 years. The staff here is amazing and after a few visits they will remember you by name. The staff here is amazing, and doctors are very kind. They put their patients at the center of everything thing they do and recommend. We are super pleased with the level of service they provide.

I’ve been with Avance Care since I moved to NC a year ago. I have loved each of my care providers, including my current PCP, Shivas Gilotra, FNP. Prompt, professional service every time I visit, from the reception staff to the care team to the lab techs. I can’t count the number of times I have recommended Avance Care to friends in the area.

I’ve never left a review before...of anything. Yet, the wonderful care I’ve received this year through Avance Care, and specifically Practioner Shivas Gilotras, has been so exceptional that I felt the need to leave a review. High marks for kindness, compassion, and professionalism!

I am really glad I found a primary care Dr. At Avance Care. The staff is friendy and accomodating. The office is clean and modern and never overcrowded with patients. Dr. Shivas Gilotra is amazingly! From scheduling my appointment to having my appointment they were all really nice, professional and efficient. I called and was able to get an appointment scheduled the next day! I went today for my appointment and the nurse, Erika and the doctor, Wahibi Kataoui were amazing! They both listened to my medical concerns and the doctor wanted to do a full work up on me to really figure out why I’m having pain instead of just giving me pain medication. Consistently provide quality and compassionate care!

Horrible experience. Lack of cleanliness during Covid is a huge concern, nurse practitioner was condescending and rude, threatened to not refill my normal prescriptions because I hadn’t gotten my annual physical this year (I’m a healthy 36 year old), was a waste of a co-pay. I like my normal doctor (Dr. Brayboy) but he books out a couple weeks in advance and this is the 2nd time I’ve had to see Therese Phelan so I’ll be looking for someone new now. I never leave reviews but felt compelled after this experience.

Therese is a wonderful provider! She cares about her patients and really listens. The office and staff is great too!

The staff and provider were pleasant and helpful. Check in is super efficient and you can fill your forms out online before you arrive. I was given a referral to a specialist in days which is impressive coming from someone who has been a referral coordinator. Overall I highly recommend this practice!

Very professional. They see me in a timely manner(making appointments and while in the office). I don’t feel like they push you through, they take the time to listen to your issue and come up with a plan to resolve your issue and want to follow up to make sure the plan works. I have been coming here for years and planning on continuing to come for many more years.

Wahiba Kartaoui and her team are wonderful. She is considerate and easy to talk to, and made me feel very comfortable, which is not always easy in a healthcare setting. She and her medical assistant were also more than happy to help when I ran into a refill issue. Great practice!

So glad I was able to find Avance Care. They are always so flexible with my schedule. Carinne Woodworth is amazing and always takes the extra step to make sure I am getting the best care possible. Would always recommend!

This office is really convenient and the staff are always very pleasant too! Theyre very fair and straight forward with regards to out of pocket patients like myself! Shivas Gilotra is an awesome practitioner, I certainly recommend him for primary care.

This is the best doctors office I’ve ever been to. I saw Kyle Grey- PA and am so glad I did. As a woman I never thought I would want to see a male doctor, but I was very comfortable and at ease with him. Everything starting from the paperwork to getting in front of a doctor is so simple. The front desk staff is always friendly, smiling, and helpful. The nurses and doctors are quick and effective while still being attentive and personable. I’m so impressed with this office and Dr Grey!

I spent years of my life suffering from chronic pain because of my anxiety. Dr. Carinne Woodworth took my concerns seriously. She didn’t just prescribe me muscle relaxers and send me on my way like previous experiences I’ve had. After struggling for the better half of a decade, I’m finally getting the medicine I need to live a life without severe pain. This office always has the kindest, most accommodating staff. I used to avoid Dr.’s offices and push away medical issues, but the people at Avance on Oberlin have taught me that a Dr.’s visit doesn’t have to be miserable.Would totally recommend this group of individuals.

Ive been coming here for about 4-5 years - as long as theyve been open. I initially saw Dr. Fruth and loved having her as my primary care provider. Since she is no longer seeing patients I have been moved to Wahiba and couldnt be happier! Everyone there is kind and helpful. Ive been to the dietitian and counseling services too. I have nothing but good things to say about this place.

We Love Avance Care!! Dr Brayboy is the best..he listens to us and goes above and beyond to find answers and solutions! Casey always knows us and makes us feel at ease, she does an excellent job..and always jokes around with my husband, which helps calm him. Deanna always helps to make our appointments, check us in and out, makes sure our meds are sent to pharmacy..she is always smiling and happy! We Love this office and won’t go anywhere else! If you are looking a doctor you can’t go wrong with Dr. Brayboy! They care about their patients and that is a rare find!

Erika was amazing and definitely provided excellent customer service. I saw Dr. Wahiba because she is beyond magnificent she just moved to this facility from a facility in Greensboro NC and I FOLLOWED HER she cares about her patients and she wants the best healthy version of them I love love loveeeee her!!!

Many of the people I deal with at Avance Care-Oberlin are nice overall, the front desk is cool, fast, and friendly, and the wait times are not long (bet I know why). But my CARE is more my concern. Avance care books patients too close together. I have been hurried through my appointments many times. When I try to take control of my health, Im continuously made to feel like Im taking up their time to answer my questions. I had labs done; they wanted me to come in and pay just for them to read me my labs when they could have called and done it over the phone! I expressed this to them and then they called and gave me the results(which shows me, their systems are all wrong and they are set up for finance rather than patient). I dont feel valued at Avance Care-Oberlin. They now have a 24-hour advance cancellation policy....as if things dont happen unexpectedly. If they were patient-centered, theyd understand that--but theyre money centered. I wanted to take control of my health after having my baby and I trusted Avance care with that and I wish that Id made another choice for my primary care. I really do. Its sad. I am removing myself as a patient--not that theyll notice anyway because its all about the next person.

I have been seeing Dr. Shivas for over half a year now and hes amazing! Every time I visit him he is extremely kind and caring. I highly recommend this doctors office and Dr. Shivas.
