Patient of Dr. Berlin and PA, Hill. Both are absolutely great!!! The challenge I have involves the nurses. They are not as responsive as they were in the past and medication changes requiring prior authorizations have taken up to 3 months because nurses dont pay attention to insurance details - even after detailed instructions are sent.

After being diagnosed four months ago with severe osteoporosis by my family physician, I was told Id need to see an endocrinologist. Upon hearing this, I specifically requested a referral to Dr. Berlin whos treated my daughter for her thyroid issue for the past ten years. Hes professional, thorough and extremely competent. Dr. Berlin diagnosed my medical condition, referred me to an excellent surgeon and is now working with me post op to ensure my health issues continue to improve. I would highly recommend Dr. Berlin and his staff to anyone desiring quality, professional services.

Dr Berlin has been my endocrinologist for 21+ years. If that doesn’t speak for itself then I don’t know what would. But just in case and most important he listens to me when I tell him how I’m feeling and any concerns I may have. Dr Berlin has always stayed current and on top of my medical conditions and has adjusted any medication to best benefit me. Now have I had to wait longer than usual at times, yes but I look at it as he is having to take extra care for someone before me and he would do the same for me if needed. If the delay doesn’t work with my schedule then I just reschedule for when it does. Life isn’t instant gratification and sometimes things take time. I also try to remember that Doctors are human and things happen. I would highly recommend Dr Berlin.

I did not make it any further than the phone call to schedule an appointment. Whoever works in scheduling is extremely rude and seemingly unable to answer simple questions (e.g. if referrals are required for these doctors). On top of this, they did not want to tell me when the next available appointment was until after they took all of my information, which they definitely did not need at this point in the scheduling.Despite the great reviews Ive seen for the doctors, the lady in scheduling left a sour taste in my mouth. I was potentially a new patient and the lady in scheduling gave such a bad impression that I have decided to take my business elsewhere.Raleigh Endocrine Associates--please learn how important it is that everyone in your office remains professional, even the scheduling department.

This is generous, we showed up after traveling over two hours to find out we could not be seen. Unless we were willing to wait an hour to two hours past our scheduled appointment. We arrived early with paperwork filled out.. I understand appointments run late. But we informed the office of a secondary specialist appointment after and the distance we were traveling. Unbelievable truly, and never again.

I am extremely disappointed at my experience here. I want to start by saying Dr. Becker was fine, I had no issues with him. It was his nurse, Shannon who I had an issue with. After waiting an hour for my appointment, with no updates, I asked the front desk staff for an update as to what was going on. The nurse Shannon came out and brought me into a private office room (she didn’t want the other people waiting in the lobby to hear me complain about the wait) where she proceeded to pull down her mask before talking to me and then told me that their practice cares for patients much sicker than me and how horrible it was that I was complaining about the wait time. She then told me if I was not ok with waiting an hour, then this was not the practice for me and that I should find another one. After explaining to her that it was not the wait time that I had an issue with, but the lack of communication regarding it, she continued to rudely raise her voice at me until I finally told her our conversation was not going anywhere so I had nothing to say. She then brought another nurse in, telling her that I was refusing her care, which was completely untrue. To say I have never been treated so horribly by a medical professional before is an understatement. Her lack of respect or care for me was horrendous. I will not return to this practice, not because of the doctor, but soley because of the nurse Shannon.

While I haven’t attended my first appointment as of yet, I can say my experience thus far was poor. Susan in scheduling was very rude and unprofessional; if I wasn’t referred by my Electrologist, to a specific doctor, at this practice I would definitely go elsewhere. Your first impression matters and they should really take this inconsideration when allowing “Susan” to be their first point of contact.**Update: Dr. Berlin was very nice however I’ve never ever waited that long to be seen at a provider. My first appt I waited almost 2 hours before being called. My second appt was for labs and I still had to wait 1.5hrs…not to mention I took my own specimens at home

My father was scheduled for an appointment today (4/1). Since he lives in a different county, he took a day off work, drive 2 hours to get here, got to the office at 1:00 (2 hours before he was scheduled), filled out all his paperwork, and waited. An hour past his scheduled appointment time, he has to go up to the receptionist and ask for an update on when hell been seen, only to be told that he could wait another hour but theres no guarantee that the doctor will see him today because he has patients.I know doctors, especially specialists, are busy, but why schedule a patient when there is any doubt that youll be able to see them? Looking at so many of these other reviews, I can see why this happened today. Obvious this practice feels that patients time and effort dont really matter [they need me, I dont need them mentality]. Hopefully whoever reads this sees how professional and caring this practice is.

There is a disconnect between the doctors office and billing department. Lack of follow through is an understatement. I have called several times since September of 2020 to have my billing issues addressed and there is still no resolve. At my last visit, I was told I couldnt be scheduled since a payment needed to be made. I was overcharged and wanted my insurance re-billed first. After explaining that to them they still refused to schedule future appointments and to this day my bill hasnt been re-filed.I would like to point out no sort of payment plan was offered to me and I havent been to see my thyroid doctor for several months. This practice seems to value money more than patients. There is a global pandemic and they have no compassion. Its quite sad! Maybe since they are such a large practice they dont feel like my account is worth their time? 🤷🏾‍♀️

I made an appointment in February 2020 to get my thyroid checked. I missed my appointment due to a sick child. I’m a working mother of 4 and life can be hectic. I was then immediately billed $75 for this missed appointment. I was NOT an established patient. I never signed ANY paperwork agreeing to this kind of fee for a missed appointment. I know on your first doc appointment you typically agree to a office policies and sign paperwork. This was to be my first appointment and there was NOTHING that I signed.I therefore never made another appointment as I was annoyed and they STILL keep billing me EVERY month threatening to send me to collections. I’ve written them 2 detailed letters and called twice. They give no response in writing and on the phone they say they will pass my info on to billing but I have never gotten a call back. I almost never give negative reviews. This practice has given me no choice. I have excellent credit and I’ll just write a letter to the collections company AND contact the credit rating companies to have this removed. In addition, I plan to tell everyone I know about this experience. In my age group many need an endocrinologist and I will tell anyone in my circle to avoid this practice.

I saw there was at least 7 people waiting. I knew I should have asked what the wait time would be. My experience with Raleigh Endocrine Associates is the worst Ive had at a doctors office. My biggest complaint is that the bill (for hundreds of dollars) was filed with the wrong insurance company (I have no idea how this happened), and I have spent almost a year trying to get them to file it with the correct insurance company. Ive spent probably 15-20 hours on the phone with them and two insurance companies trying to sort this out. One of the insurance agents even called the doctors office while I was on the line to be sure they sent the claim to the right company, but a couple months later it was still not sent to the right place. In addition, I spent hours on the phone trying to schedule the appointment (they refused to schedule the first couple weeks after I was referred to them). They were running a couple hours late for my actual appointment. They mailed me my test results a few days after my appointment and basically would not talk to me about them when I called to discuss. I eventually paid the medical bill because I did not want to waste any more time on the phone than I already have. I have never been so frustrated by a doctors office.

I have been referred to REA and have been visiting for several months. Agree with all the pp here- doctors are fine but the nurse and the staff are just beyond terrible. I am scratching my head at the moment I am writing this review.1. In office- 1 hour waiting is very normal2. Telehealth- 2 hours pass the appointment time is very normal. For one appointment At the time I got the call from the doc the first thing doc can say is the office is to be closed soon. He gave me instructions to change my meds briefly and hang on. Then in the next appointment both doc and the nurse donnot remember my previous appointment. The instructions was conflicting with my previous dosage. I called the nurse to clarify, she was so rude, hang up on me and made me cry.3. Portal is terrible. My records are never up to date. Now I have been not able to send out the message for two days but no one can help. Called the support line, the only thing they can do is taking your info and then say-just wait it may take several days or longer to fix.4. The most important- in such Covid 19 situation, some of the medical professionals in REA do not wear the mask! Some put it on when seeing you but some just ignore. This is the major reason I am terrified to do office visit. The front desk always have the mask on but several staff sitting close to the doc office, I have not seen any put the mask during my 2020 visits.Overall I feel this office had good doctors, but it is poorly managed and the nursing team hates the patients. This is the one of the 2 worst clinics I have ever been visited. Can someone share where do you guys visit after leaving REA?

I read all the positive reviews posted here and saw that the practice was accepting new patients. I waited months for an appointment. I filled out all the new patient information I was sent ahead of time. I arrived at 10:30, as instructed, and wasnt even shown to an exam room until 12:00. A Nurse (?) then asked me all the same information I had already supplied and I was left sitting for another 20 minutes. The Dr finally arrived, asked me the same questions and left (no explanation) for another 20 minutes (?) When the Dr returned, I was asked many of the same questions again. In total, I had maybe 10 minutes of care. The wait for having blood drawn was mercifully short, but it took two full weeks to get results which were MAILED to me (yes, snail mail) and the ONLY follow up was a highlighted note in the far right of the third sheet of the lab report I had been mailed. This is, without a doubt, the worst care I have ever received.A final note: While I sat in the waiting area, a steady stream of pharmaceutical reps walked past the front desk and into the back rooms, including one that was delivering a catered lunch. Its pretty clear what the priorities of this practice are. It is definitely NOT patient care.

When reading reviews read them from newest to oldest. They must have been better in the past... Ive been a patient here for about a year or so. This is the most frustrating, least available office you will ever deal with. Its fine if you just go to your appointment, wait an hour and see your doctor. But if you deviate from that you will be nothing but frustrated. The PA I was pushed off on was ok, though I didnt appreciate the political conversations out in the hall while I was waiting, but she or her nurse were bad about completing prior authorizations. I liked my doctor but only got to see her once. The rest was the PA. Now Im leaving them over these frustrations and I only get the all-too-familiar Im sorry, the system cannot accept a message when trying to access records. There is no way to talk to anyone or leave a message. I get this message when trying to get through to my PA/Dr sometimes too. Additionally, if you have to get labs done, dont expect smiling faces in there. They clearly hate their jobs. They have an online portal (proprietary, not mychart) that youre supposed to do your interactions through, but after multiple attempts Ive never been able to sign up. Dealing with this clinic is a complete nightmare. Youre better off anywhere else.

Ive been going to REA for about a year now and it has been a NIGHTMARE since day one! The doctors seem nice but the staff and the way the practice is run is absolutely terrible. First off, you will spend almost an hour in the waiting room before ever being seen by a physician, so if you value your time then this is not the place for you. Secondly, I have called the nurses line and left messages multiple times for small things (getting my lab results, instructions on how to do at-home lab kits, etc.) and it takes them MONTHS to call me back (if they even call back)! Recently, I called the nurse’s line THREE times and left THREE messages, and they didnt call me back until three months later! In fact, this most recent time I called because I had a simple question about how to do an at-home lab kit and they NEVER called me back!!! If you’re not going to answer the phone or call patients back then what’s the point of having one?!?! I’ve also had problems with the nurses entering my files under the wrong name and not being able to find my records for months! And if all of those things weren’t bad enough, REA even refused to give insulin to my Type 1 Diabetic family member after she ran out of insulin unexpectedly, which landed her in the ICU with DKA!!! Raleigh Endocrine Associates is WILDLY INCOMPETENT and INCAPABLE of running a sound practice and I encourage you to run as fast as you can in the opposite direction!!

You will recieve lab results weeks after your appointment.- The doctor I was assigned to looked more and more confused when I was explaining what issues I have been experiencing. She asked me to come back after I had a few labs drawn. Which I understand. However after I got my labs drawn I wanted to schedule a follow up appointment, I was told this doctor was booked up for the next month. I felt it was best to stay with the same doctor. However when I came for my follow up appointment the doctor acted like it was our first appointment. I had to go over my medical history again. So disappointed. After waiting one hour each time after my appointment time and the doctor only spending 10-15 minutes with me. Felt like just another number. Complete waste of time. Will not be back.

I had to call my primary care physician to have my RX temporarily filled until I can talk to someone in person at Raleigh Endocrine. My doc had it filled and taken care of before calling me back to confirm the pharmacy. Also, when I called, I was told the issue may be related to an outstanding account balance that I was NEVER advised of. Again, I havent set eyes on Dr. Weir since January of last year. I rarely leave reviews but couldnt let this go. I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and I know a bad apple when I see one - needed to post to hopefully prevent someone else having problems with this practice. Ive been reluctantly going to Raleigh Endocrine Assoc for 2 years. I started out with Dr. Becker who has tons of accolades (and plaques in his exam room). He was nice enough but kind of like an absent minded professor, talking in circles without really saying anything of substance. I left more confused about my new condition than when I arrived. He also ALWAYS ran late. On my last scheduled appt with him, he was over a hour and a half late and I had to leave because I had another appt across town. I work full time and am a single mom (and now also a full time teacher due to virtual learning at my kids school) and dont have all day to sit in a doctors office. I asked to be assigned to another provider in the office, and I was given to Linda Brower PA. She was nice and knowledgeable and more time conscious but I have left this office after this last fiasco - let me explain/vent. I dont have room to put it all but heres the short version - they moved my appt because the PA decided she needed to be off that day (currently only works 2-3 days/week), requiring me to move all the other appts I had scheduled to the new appt day and crisscrossing town to accommodate their new appt. When I arrived, I was told I was bumped from the schedule. I was told I had to schedule with PAs assistant, not the office scheduling line since they dont know PAs schedule. Incidentally, the assistant never answers so its phone tag to schedule IF she ever calls you back at all. Long story short, I ended up being seen because I had to be to get a prescription for a mandatory medicine I was out of. PA said she sent script, I go to Costco to fill it and no script X 1.5 hours. Office is closed, so I call on call MD, no call back after excessive wait time to reach answering service and being hung up on. Left VM for nurse to fax script the next day to different pharmacy since I couldnt drive to Raleigh again the next day. No script. Called office throughout afternoon - on hold over an hour and no one ever picked up. Finally got a live person to answer in medical records after calling multiple times and trying every number option. She walked over to assistant who wouldnt pick up the phone. I was told script was sent again. They finally did resend it to both Costco AND the new pharmacy so when I went to new pharmacy they couldnt fill it b/c Costco had it filled. Had to wait 45 min while they cancelled Costco and filled it at new pharmacy. Overall, hours of my life WASTED due to a doctors office that has no concern to provide care to their patients, no respect for anyone elses time, ridiculous office staff that refuses to answer the phone, on call doctors that refuse to return calls, nurses/assistants dont ever seem to be available and electronic prescriptions that dont arrive. Look elsewhere for an endocrinologist! They never forget to collect my co-pay but conveniently forget to provide the care that insurance pays for! Also, they want you to use their portal for communication. Again, a huge time drain setting up portals for every doctor you see. Not what I want in a doctors office. Peace out Raleigh Endocrine!

They literally did not care about my time, or the fact I need my medicine to be balanced or I feel awful. I am not going back to this horrible place they have no care for their patients whatsoever.

Dr. Berlin is an amazing physician. He takes time to document his own patient histories. I have appreciated his candor and honesty. He is one of the few doctors I have even had that I feel actually knows their patients issues. The office staff is phenomenal and work really hard to make sure you are treated well. They try very hard to get you in on time and keep your waits to a minimum. The nurses are also very knowledgeable and helpful.

I have been treated by Dr. Berlin for the past 6 months. I have found him to be caring and well rounded. He definitely spends time with his patients and occasionally runs behind, but what can you expect if you would like to actually have a conversation with your physician about your care. I really like the practice and cant see a reason to leave the practice. Dr. Berlin has helped me tremendously and Im very grateful that he is my physician.

Dr. Berlin is very personable and made me feel like he was focused on me, but he told me if I hadn’t heard from his nurse by the end of the week to call. I called...twice. Now it’s two weeks later and I still haven’t heard heard anything. At this point, I’ll just wait until my follow up 4 weeks from now.☹️

They aren’t patient centered. I’ve been to a few endocrinologists since moving to raleigh. I was referred here from my primary care to check my thyroid. My first appointment they were SUPER late. After waiting 45 minutes after my appointment time (nobody communicated with me) I asked when I’d be seen and they said “maybe another 20 minutes”. I canceled my appointment and asked for my copay to be refunded, which they did.My rescheduled appointment was fine. Dr. Becker was nice and sent me to get my labs done. He thoroughly explained what was likely going on with my thyroid. But then I waiting over 10 business days to get my results (after calling multiple times) just to later get my results in the mail that indicated they were abnormal and requires follow up. Nobody ever called to discuss my results. Never in my experience have I ever been given lab results back without any communication from the doctor or nurse. That’s just not good practice.Update: I called again to talk to someone about my results. Left a voicemail. No response.I’ll be switching back to Carolina Endocrine.

Lauren is the best! She is knowledgeable about all things diabetes. I like her aggressive approach to treating the disease. I always feel encouraged after a visit with her and feel like everything possible is being done to treat my disease. She does not treat me like an ‘old person’ who can’t understand my disease. Her nurse - whose name I can’t remember right now- is also great. They make a good team!

Well upon arrival I am told the MD is running an hour late, which would of been GREAT to know before I made the 30 mile drive. So I sit there for over an hour and lucky for me there was a water fountain because it was way too hot in the waiting room. I talk to the nurse and MD and blood is taken. The first tech missed the vein (remember I am dehydrated) the second tech nails the vein in my left arm. 2.5 hours later I am done.

I have nothing but good things to say about Raleigh Endocrine. Front desk, lab technicians, and check out personnel are great, I have only waited ‘too long’ one time in 4 years. Today’s visit I had no wait at all! Dr Weir and Lauren Hendricks are gifts that I appreciate! Sounds over the top, but both of them have been knowledgeable, thorough, compassionate, and on my side and as a result my health practices have improved and my future health has greatly improved! I will continue to come to Raleigh Endocrine and highly recommend Raleigh Endocrine to others.

My second time in the office was today (9/6/18) but it was my first time see Mrs. Hendricks (Dr. Weirs PA.) She was very nice, took time to explain/review my recent lab work and allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed too. The nurse was also nice and courteous, but quiet (which is fine.) Lab employees were pleasant to deal with, and not a long wait time to see the vampire. My first appointment with Dr. Weir about 2 months ago was ok, but not my favorite and there was initial mix-up after my first encounter with her and some results I was given (instead of being told about my ultrasound results I was contacted asking to have a biopsy done without knowing there was anything amiss, which needless to say concerned me and made me upset.) But overall it is a nice practice and I will continue to see Mrs. Hendricks.

The nursing staff is top notched, they go above and beyond. Im so thankful theyre my physician group.Ive had the most amazing experience with nurse Cheryl. I was referred to Raleigh Endocrine Associates so I can get further help with my thyroid condition. Since Ive started going there I experience nothing but unprofessional visits. Each visit I had to wait in the waiting area at least 1-2 hours later than the time I was scheduled to see someone. I started back in March and recently stopped going this past October. Since then they had me coming in for unnecessary visits back to back so that they can charge me each visit. There were times i had to come in to go over results that couldve easily been handled over the phone (non threatening results). There was not one time they took me no later than 15 mins of my scheduled appointment time. I always waited a good hour or longer before I was even spoken to. But theyre constantly charging me anywhere from $200-$400 Each billing statement for less than service and most of the time just to discuss my results. I recently had 1 no show this past October because I no longer wanted to be inconvenience with my time going there. I was charged $75 for it and ask if it can be waved due to it being a one time thing and the fact they werent to considerate of my time previously coming there. I was denied my one time request and find it very unfair and upsetting. These people dont care about their patients, they care about their pockets only. I would NEVER go this practice again!! If you dont want to be scammed out of your hard earn money I suggest you to find a practice that cares.

Living with diabetes is very stressful in itself. Ive been a patient of Dr. Glenn Stall for about 6 or 7 years and every time I visit his office at Raleigh Endocrine Associates I have a very pleasant experience. I wish I didnt have to go to this office at all since I prefer not to be a diabetic but unfortunately I do.Its very pleasing to know that my visits to this office are totally stressed free from the moment I walk in and speak to Jason or any other patient account representative, even up to the time I have to pay money (co-pay). I never knew that paying money can be so pleasing, but the staff is so professional and caring, gosh I just love them!I would like to thank Jasmin (nurse for Dr. Stall), Dr. Stall, Linda, ALL the nurses (sorry I dont know you all by name...) for treating not only me but all the patients who visit your office with GRACE. I am very analytical and I see how you treat ALL the patients with CARE, even when its challenging. To ALL the STAFF, continue to do the marvelous job youre doing and know that your patience, your care and your professionalism is very much appreciated and noticed! See you all in May 2014.

I picked Raleigh Endocrine Associates based on their expertise and policies on their website. After my referral was sent, they notified me that I would have to bring them a money order for $100 or have a credit card on file before I could schedule an appointment. Nowhere on their website or policies do they disclose that this information. When I called back to discuss the lack of this in their policies, they said We thought it was there on the website, but I see that it isnt. They refused to budge on the $100 deposit. This seems super shady and I cant recommend them.

Absolutely the most unacceptable, disrespectful service imaginable, even by the low customer service/care standards of the health care industry. I scheduled a new-patient consultation with Dr. Rand, and the first available appointment was one full calender month out. When I arrived the day of the appointment, the rude and dismissive receptionist informed me that Dr. Rand is unavailable, and that I could reschedule the appointment... for over one month away. Or I could just leave, because the rude receptionist really did not care in the slightest, and did not make any comment when I declined to re-schedule.My appointment was cancelled without informing me, they made zero effort to arrange a new time that would be reasonable, and treated me with all the professional courtesy of a Tijuana taco cart. Ive lost one month of my life, never met a doctor, and was treated like my patronage presented some sort of unsolvable logistical hassle. Cable television conglomerates provide better customer service. An absolute joke of a practice. I would give zero stars if I could. The Peter Principle is in effect at Raleigh Endocrine; the only employee that seemed to care or be proficient is Jason, the phone operator that made my initial appointment. Otherwise a trashy practice.
