I love the staff. They are nice and friendly. Dr. NG is my surgeon and I have had great experience and I am 2 years out. I would suggest them to anyone. Great experience!

The health providers are absolutely amazing. It’s been two years since my Duodenal Switch and I’m down 130 lbs. However, this is the worst office to get in contact with over the phone. The office staff are horrible and they NEVER answer their phones. It’s like calling a financial aid office at a University. Terrible!!!!

Cannot say enough positive about this group. Ive been a patient of theirs for two years now. The excellent physicians are involved and motivating before and after surgery. The dietitians are very knowledgeable and always available for my many questions. The office staff is ALWAYS friendly and efficient. I recommend them highly.

REX Bariatrics helped me to get my life back. I was at rock bottom when I came to the practice. My PCP was just telling me to eat less and move more. He was not seeing me or hearing me. Dr. Sharp understood from day one that I was asking for and needing help and got me on their program, explained the different surgeries, helped me understand I had a diease and helped me regain my self confidence. Now years later, I have a new life.

I LOVE Rex! Ive been a patient since 2015 and I highly recommend Rex. I feel educated, understood and taken care of. Most importantly to me - Ive never felt like I was being treated a certain way because of my size at Rex. Do yourself a favor and come to Rex! Ask for Dr. Bermudez :)

Dr. Sharp, Dr. Ng and all of the staff are amazing! I completely trust them with my care. The surgeons are very knowledgeable and they will continue to follow you closely after surgery to make sure you are meeting your goals and healing properly. I really enjoyed the education and dietician classes prior to surgery. It prepared me for a healthier lifestyle in the long run. I highly recommend this practice.

REX Bariatrics is such an amazing and life changing doctors office. When considering weight loss surgery, I searched every option in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area and found this office to provide the most in-depth support before and after surgery. After attending the information seminar, I knew I would be in good hands with any of the drs but chose Dr. Sharp, who was a great motivator. He was understanding of my struggles, easy to talk to, had a great bedside manner, and I had complete trust in. I am over 2 years out from surgery and still have the continued support of Drs, PAs, nutritionists, and staff who really care about continued weight loss and maintaining health. I love that I still have support groups, cooking classes, seminars, and classes I can attend on a weekly basis. I would absolutely recommend REX Bariatrics to anyone considering weight loss surgery.

I was genuinely shocked and upset when I was treated so terrible from check-in where the receptionist couldnt verify my insurance because she put in my name wrong (which I asked if she had and she didnt listen until someone working with her asked the same thing...), took over a half an hour to check in, AFTER giving the receptionist my new patient forms, to the billing process... I live Dr. Ng and have been a friend of his since I was a child, but I will never seen him again working with either Rex or UNC! It is 5 months after my appointment, and I just received a bill for $353 for a consultation that took 5-10 minutes of seeing any medical professional to look at a cyst, being prescribed an antibiotic that was supposed to be called into my pharmacy, no prescription was called in so I spoke with the on call doctor who didnt have any notes from my appointment to go off of and she called in a prescription for an antibiotic to help the infection subside, only to learn the next day that Dr. Ng had prescribed a different antibiotic, one that would actually help me more and cost 4 times LESS than the one the on call Doctor called in...I thought I was done with my horrible experience with this office.. Until 5 months later, I finally receive a bill for my appointment, and you can understand my shock to see that the doctors fee was over $400 and my insurance adjusted price brought down my total to $353.... And I call the office, I have to call and speak to the call center... I finally speak to the call center and theres nothing they can do except maybe Ill get approved for financial support (but I dont because I make too much money with my husband (which isnt a lot)) so theyll set up a financial arrangement for $30 a month for 12 months... Im glad theyll let me pay over an extended period of time, but when you speak to a patient, especially one who is justifiably upset and youre telling me that its not your fault and the office isnt held liable for telling patients their portion of an appointment but you have to verify insurance before theyre seen, at least be understanding and not incredibly rude.. I will NEVER be going back to UNC or Rex and if it comes down to me dying in a hospital, Ill die on my way to Duke rather than deal with either one of these places again... I cant wait to pay off my bill and be done with this scheme of a practice.I would LOVE for a manager to contact me to have me remove this post or try and come to a reasonable resolution, but with this place, I dont see it happening. Unfortunately, I work in healthcare, so I know exactly how a good business should be run, and this is not it.
