I have many autoimmune ailments going on through the past years. The worst one being Sjogrens Syndrome. During Christmas holidays I awoke early one morning with my right jaw so swollen it appeared as though I might have a baseball in my cheek! The pain was acute. After going to Duke Raleigh ER, they referred me to Dr Ellison. I had a major bacterial infection in my Saliviary Gland caused by a stone. I will not go into gross details, but Dr. Ellison and his super staff healed me with his spot on treatment. It was not a short process and for two weeks I was very ill! To say that he was kind and understanding would be an understatement. He explained the treatment and was just an excellent and knowledgeable physician. I highly recommend Dr. Ellison for his skills and knowledge in treating autoimmune diseases.
Nice guy, but my balloon sinuplasty was a disaster and extremely painful. It seemed like his team was a bit unorganized when setting up for the procedure. I never felt numb from the local anesthetic and was sprayed with saline due to a loose connection in the tubing, wich further decreased my confidence in them. Im not sure of how often a physician is unable to complete the procedure, but he wasnt able to get to my left maxillary sinus, which he said was due to my anatomy.
After 15+ years of being told I had chronic asthma, Dr. Elllison determined it was an airway blockage...he did Surgery to open the airway and could not be MORE pleased!! He gave me my life back
