I was always afraid of the dentist (still am for anything simple as a cleaning 😅) but the staff at Arcadia Modern Dentistry always make me feel very comfortable and they communicate very well with any sensitive areas I have (financial & cavities!). They genuinely care about me and the health of my mouth. I 100% recommend them to everyone. They are also very friendly and humorous with me, like a friend who cares about you! My teeth have been the healthiest in a looong time because with my fears I avoid the dentist, but here they’ve helped me keep up with my dental care!!

The team is utterly amazing! Zoe at check in was super sweet. The assistant, Stephanie was super nice, informative and made the X-rays go by quick. Dr H is great, very thorough and friendly during the exam, she took time to explain things and answer my questions. Lexi is amazing! Best cleaning I’ve had, she’s so gentle and takes her time to make sure every tooth is sparkly clean and the gums are good to go. Definitely will be back and telling everyone to check them out. Uncomfortable business model where they give you the exam and then present the treatment plan with costs up sells where even with insurance they were pushing me to get a 4K root canal which has never been close to what I’ve spent in the past. Felt a lot like the vibe you get at an oil change place when they tell you all the filters you have to buy when you don’t really need them

Watch out for hidden fees!!! I made an appointment for an exam and a cleaning for both my self and my husband and we both had negative experiences.Our insurance covers unlimited cleaning so we weren’t expecting to be charged anything. We both got the EXACT same diagnosis with the exact same upsell bill for the exact same procedures and amount.I’ll start by saying the dentist I saw was actually really nice and the facility was clean and new unfortunately the rest of the experience felt like a slimy corporate upsell.Of course the exam started off with the obligatory dentist question “how long has it been since your last appointment.”And since I have never ever had a single dental issue in my entire life I only go once a year. So i admitted that and of course got the standard lecture. I also confessed that i thought i had pregnancy related gingivitis which is super common and was told by my real doctor would go away on its own! After the exam I was told that not only did i have gingivitis it had progressed to gum disease. I asked if I could get the teeth cleaning that was covered by my insurance and was told NO! Not unless I also got the ~$500 worth of deep cleaning they recommend. As I sorted through the list of charges and asked one by one what they were, they explained $200 was for laser cleaning and admitted was not necessary. I told them I was only interested in the regular cleaning. They still said no that they could lose their dental license if they cleaned my teeth while I had gingivitis. I’m not sure if that’s true or not but they had already broken my trust by sneaking in $200 of laser work, without explanation, so I’ll be going somewhere else! Worth noting that with each reasonable question I asked the office manager got more and more rude!

New dentist Dr Hogan is extremely nice and thoughtful. He took extra time to grind down my retainer for me to make it wearable. Really appreciate his bedside manner. Office staff are always pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

Awful experience at this location. I had a tooth extraction here and was referred by my current dentist to get this procedure done. The main complaint I have would be the front desk receptionist was extremely rude and disrespectful. She was unprofessional with her attitude. Overall, I would not recommend this place.

I went in for an emergency tooth extraction. It took around 45min after my appointment time for me to be seen. There was only one other patient in the lobby. Then for about 20 minutes they tried to up-sell me on different procedures after I had expressed that I only wanted, and could only afford the bare minimum extraction. I was told the tooth that was being extracted had a severe infection, it took about 15 minutes of pulling to remove it. Luckily, they were able to remove it in one piece and for that I am grateful. However, they quickly ushered me out of the office and I was given nor offered any pain medication or antibiotic for the severe infection, even after I inquired about it.

I can’t say enough good things about Arcadia Modern Dentistry. For me, it’s conveniently located and easy to get to. The staff are friendly and service oriented and make you feel like you’ve come to visit, not come to see the doctor. The facility is spotless, modern, yet comfortable. I feel like everyone goes out of their way to make your experience a positive one - I have always left with a smile.

Dr. Ted Byers was my dentist 25 years ago when I first moved to Phoenix. When I heard he moved back and was practicing at Arcadia Modern Dentistry I immediately sought him out. Apparently, so have many others because he truly is the best. Dr. Byers is kind, attentive and a perfectionist. Hands down the best dentist in town. With any work he performs, it’s only the best and his main goal is your happiness. All the dentists and staff have left. There is only one dentist now (who I actually liked) but the front staff needs to get it together. My first appointment was cancelled because the manager forgot her key (and the dentist and other staff didnt have a key? I have a feeling this wasnt true), I then had a dental cleaning I scheduled 6 months in advance rescheduled without my knowledge and again ended up at a closed office. I just tried to schedule a cleaning and there is no available times (how peculiar) yet when my husband tries to there is magically open availability every day.Gave this place 5 stars due to the office and Dr Byers but there gone and whats left is beyond convenient and competent.

This is by far the best dentist we have ever been to. The receptionist Cory is amazing! She got us in the same day within the hour of calling their office. She was extremely sympathetic and went above and beyond for my husband. Dr. Ngo is also an excellent doctor and took such good care of him. He listened attentively to his needs and concerns. Then the oral surgeon as well (cant remember his name) worked wonders and pulled 2 teeth in less than 30 minutes. I am extremely grateful to the whole staff, especially Cory. We will definitely be returning and recommending this office to all our friends and family.

I havent been to a dentist in over 10 years (due to a horrific experience in another state with another dentist.) From the very first phone call with Nicole to the X-ray tech, hygienist and the Dentist everyone made me feel safe and comfortable. The office is super clean and the equipment was modern and clean. Thanks for making my experience an easy one.

Dr. Peterson did my wisdom teeth removal and it was the easiest process ever! I was anxious going in due to all the horror stories from friends about their wisdom teeth removal. I went under anesthesia and in a blink of an eye it was over! I woke up feeling fine (no funny post anesthesia stories..I was completely normal!). I took one 200mg ibuprofen about 3 hours after the procedure and that was it..I didn’t take anything else throughout my recovery. The pain at its worst was about a 2/10. My face wasn’t swollen at all. Overall, a wonderful experience.

I am pretty obsessive about my teeth (e.g., I get cleanings every 3 months). I started with Dr. Ted Byers about a year ago. In that time, Ive had my teeth cleaned regularly and gotten a few crowns. Not only is the staff friendly in this office, but they have all done excellent work and have all the modern technology (e.g., no more waiting for permanent crown, they have in-office technology that basically allows them to 3D print your crown while you wait--amazing!). Moreover, Dr. Byers and his staff have been thoughtful about providing necessary care, excellent about follow up, and not pushy about recommending types of care. Bottom line is that, after a year with this practice, Im happy to call them my dentist and my children will be seeing them too. Thank you to Dr. Byers and his staff!

I went in to see the dentist yesterday. I received a reminder for my appointment via text message and e-mail, which was super helpful. When I arrived, they checked me in right away and took me back within five minutes. The hygienist, Daniella, cleaned my teeth and checked for gum disease. The dentist, Dr. Byers, checked my teeth and told me I was good to go, but offered to do some cosmetic stuff, like smooth out my teeth where I had been grinding and to replace two fillings that didnt match my teeth - I had the money, so went ahead and did it, but I didnt feel pressured at all. He was so fast and so gentle. I was worried that I wouldnt make it to a 4:00 meeting, but he was done within 15 minutes! He has a lot of experience and you could definitely tell! I highly highly recommend Dr. Byers and his office staff at Arcadia Modern Dentistry!

I originally made an appointment for today at 12:00pm for a cleaning and was called asking if I could move my appointment to 11:30am, so I did. Yesterday I received another voicemail asking me to reschedule from 11:30am to 11:00am. I called back to let them know Ive already rescheduled with my work and cannot reschedule again, but no one answered and there was no voicemail to leave a message. This morning I received a text confirming my appointment was at 11:30am so I thought everything was fine and since they couldnt get ahold of me, they respected my confirmed appointment time. Then at 10:30am I received another voicemail asking me if I could reschedule for 11:00am. My work is about 20-30 minutes away so I would have had to leave right then and there. I called back 4 times with no answer and no voicemail. I left work as soon as I could and arrived at Arcadia Modern Dentistry at 11:20am hoping to explain that I have been trying to get back to them and still make my 11:30am appointment. When I got there, their office was closed and of course no way of reaching them by phone, though their hours listed state they are open until 2pm on Fridays. I waited for about 15 minutes before I decided to go back to work.Based on this lack of professionalism and extremely frustrating inconvenience, I will never be going back to Arcadia Modern Dentistry and would not recommend them to anyone.

Ted Byers is a fantastic dentist. He assisted me in putting crowns on both of my back molars. He was through, explained everything very clearly, and answered all my questions with a heart felt bedside manner not usually felt from a dentist. I would reccomend Dr. Byers to any one who is seeking any form if dental care.

I initially had a great experience. I was having problems with a filling. They got me into their office quickly. I ended up getting all of my metal fillings switched. They took my insurance and gave me a quote. I paid them in full before I left the office. A couple weeks later they sent me a bill for about $170. I was confused because I thought I had paid in full. I went in there to figure out why they are trying to charge me an extra $170. They said that they forgot to charge me the entire amount. A few weeks after that they sent me a bill for $550. Wow! I couldnt believe this. I went back into the office to get an explanation. They said that my insurance company wrote me a check, instead of them. So, I owe them the amount of this check. This is not true. I never got a check from my insurance company. Now they sent me to a collection company. Recently I got a letter from a lawyer. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST OFFICE!!! Theyre totally scamming me. I wish I never went there.

Now days it is hard to find a dentist with integrity. Dr. Oatis has been my dentist for many years now. He has experience and integrity that makes him one of the best dentist in the valley. Many dentist now days try to up-sell their patients so they can make their tuition or Mercedes payment. Dr. Oatis has never suggested unnecessary (or unwanted) procedures for me. You have to be able to trust the person working in your mouth, that is why Dr. Oatis will always be my dentist.

A filling put into my back molar by a different dentist started falling out only a few months after it was installed. I put off repairs because the lidocaine didnt 100% numb me up when it was first put in, plus Im a procrastinator. I really did not want to return to the previous dentist so I searched around online for someone close to my home. Arcadia Modern Dentistry was accepting new patients & scheduled an appointment for me the same week I called. The office staff was fantastic, very friendly and efficient. Ted repaired my filling impeccably. He loaded me up with lidocaine and I experienced no pain whatsoever. He & his team explained all of my options, werent judgey about my negligence, and didnt try to upsell me. 10 out of 10, I will return to Arcadia Modern Dentistry for my regular check ups and any future work.

I went in for a basic exam and cleaning that my insurance covered and I ended up being billed $300 (after they billed my Insurance $151). It wasnt explained to me before the cleaning, that the cleaning I received was not covered by insurance and that there are two other cleanings beyond their basic cleaning service. I was under the impression that the money I paid was towards a future dental work that I canceled because my teeth are in no pain and I wanted a second opinion. I expected to have my file closed no future work done, but this was not the case. This business seems to have nice people but fraudulent billing practices. Very unethical and they are unwilling to help resolve this issue.

I had a tooth that had a large filling. The filling was large and old and upon my routine 6 month cleaning the dentist said i should be replaced. Ive had the crown for 1 year and it come off several times. On my last routine visit the dentist who examined my mouth said I should have asked if the dentist had experience with the offices new technology. My crown fell off again and I went back and this time I was told I need a root canal and that would give me something for the crown to hold onto. I was informed when I complained about the dentist that did my crown examined the company is not responsible for the dentist work. I would never use this company or dental office again.

All of the staff are friendly and professional! Dr, Byer is friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything that I saw on my X-rays. As a new patient, I liked that he met with me at the beginning of my appointment to go over my history and concerns. I received the fastest and best crown ever--no temporary crown required--received permanent, perfectly fitting crown in same day within minutes!. Dr. Byer called the next day to follow up on any concerns. They are fast and efficient. All of the staff work well together. I was In and out of the office in reasonable time. Took my children in for cleanings and they were done in record time. I highly recommend this dentist!

This place is the BIGGEST rip-off ever. Their website proclaims to have dental cleaning, x- rays, and exam for $39. Its a lie.I have 2 insurances, and they charged $470 just for the x-ray and exam. Then they had the nerve to charge anoter $450 for the cleaning.Stay away from this business. Theyre dishonest and shady.

Im currently a patient here and its not great at all. They lie about their prices online, saying its $39 cleaning and x-rays for new patients but in reality I paid over $200 (with insurance). They intentionally charge people more, when I mentioned that Im going to try going to another place, they gave me a discount right away to keep me there. I get that they are all about money, but its kind of sad in my opinion that they charge people more when they can so easily lower their prices. When I came back for permanent crown, they werent able to put it in place and I had to go back. What a waste of time and money! People working there are nice, but there are plenty of better, more honest practices out there. Im going to look for a new place and I recommend everyone to do the same.

This place is awesome and the staff is awesome. Soms things are pricey, but a great smile sometimes requires a little extra money. Reading reviews, this place, if you ask, will accomodate you and give alternatives and options to your treatment with a price range. Since Im not the richest person, they have found alternatives to treatments and also looked around for an endodontic that my insurance would take and Care credit instead of me having to do the searching. They are very hospitable.

My initial experience with Arcadia required me to wait 50 minutes after my appointment time. I filled out this patient satisfaction survey and was contacted by Arcadia a day later. Arcadia offered me a second visit at the $40 introductory price. I accepted.6 months later I come to my appointment, having forgotten about the deal I was offered. I explained to the manager who greeted me that I was here for a free cleaning. She immediately, and rather rudely and bluntly, corrected my error. Im the manager here, and I would never approve a free cleaning! she snapped at me. I apologized and said I might have been mistaken, that perhaps she could check my file. She did and discovered my offer had been $40. She also made the point to me that, the dentist and hygienist from your last visit are no longer with us, presumably to comfort me.I proceeded with my cleaning. Before the cleaning officially began my hygienist, Ms. Briggs, gave me a minute or so pitch on why I should buy a Sonicare from their office. When I mentioned buying it off Amazon, she stressed that if I purchased it from their office, I would receive a 2-year warranty, and that their Sonicare was the newer version, as opposed to Costco. It is a weird feeling to have to turn down a saleswoman who is inevitably going to be cleaning your mouth for the next 45-minutes. Your dentists office shouldnt be pushing Sonicares like a street vendor. If you want to offer them, thats fine, but it shouldnt require a patient to have to (multiple times) turn down your sales pitch. After I turned her down I then spent the next 45 minutes dealing with one of the most painful cleanings Ive ever had. When I was done Ms. Briggs informed me that I should expect to be sore tomorrow. Every time I spit, for about an hour after, my spit was rust colored from blood.Im 31 years old. Ive gone to two other dentists for the duration of my life. I tried Arcadia because its next to my new office. With that being said, Ive never had a cleaning that was anywhere near as painful as what I received, nor have I ever had a hygienist tell me I was going to be sore for the next few days, nor have I ever been spitting blood out for hours. Ms. Briggs then, at the conclusion of my cleaning, informed me shed like to schedule my next appointment in 4 months. Again, not one dentist or hygienist has ever, in my entire life, ever recommended I come every 4 months.The conclusion Ive reached: Arcadia Modern Dentistry is in fact very modern, if we assume that modern means focusing more on profits than people, firing dentists and hygienists because theyre just cogs in the profit-making apparatus, attempting to get you to come 3 times a year to boost their profits, and trying to make a hard-sell on Sonicares as youre propped back in a chair with a bib on. Im going back to my old dentist. Sure hes not close to my work, but his office isnt owned by some corporation. Its just him and his name is on the door.
