Dr. Bigelow is an amazing surgeon. I had had three failed surgeries by a different doctor trying to repair an enormous hole in my eardrum when I went to see Dr. Bigelow. One surgery with Dr. Bigelow fixed it. I’m grateful to Dr. Bigelow!

I was referred to Dr. Bigelow from neurosurgeon Dr. John Lee for a large acoustic neuroma. I suffered from debilitating symptoms and Dr. Bigelow listened carefully to my questions and concerns. Brain surgery requires a team approach and Dr. John Lee and Dr. Bigelow recommended the translabyrinthine approach in order to save my facial nerve. I had surgery on January 6th, 2021 at the hospital of Pennsylvania and recieved exceptional care from both the nurses and doctors! Experience matters and I highly recommend Dr. Bigelow!

Dr. Bigelow operated on me for an acoustic neuroma. It was a scary thought to think about having my skull cut into and having a tumor taken off of my inner ear and brain. Dr. Bigelow talked me through the procedure which put me at ease. He showed up in my room around 7:30pm on a Friday night and knew everything about what had been going on the day before. He maybe quite but he cares about his patients. Almost four months after the operation I developed headaches with vomiting and I called his office, talked to his nurse, he was operating that day but within 20 mins his nurse got back to me saying I needed an MRI as soon as possible. Turned out to be nothing, but he and his staff took immediate action to make sure I was ok. I can recommend Dr. Bigelow with the upmost confidence to operate on anyone’s brain, that you will be in capable hands.

Saw Dr Bigelow in October of 2018. Diagnosed with Acoustic Neuroma tumor. Have lost half of hearing inmy right ear. He was very informative and to the point, Surgery probably the best option. Or wait six months to see if it grows and return if it grows. It did grow so Im not happy. So tomorrow I guess we talk surgery or radiation. But I have previously had Pulminary Embalis and blood clots in my leg. On RX Eliquis a blood thinner. This makes surgery iffy....

I suffered from exostoses (SURFERS EAR) in both ears from many years of surfing in cold water and northeast living. After extensive research, I found Dr. Douglas Bigelow at U Penn. He is the absolute best. Meticulous, precise, and extremely diligent. Both surgeries were great successes, and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who needs to have Surfers Ear corrected. I was back in the water in 6 weeks. No problems since for many years. Stop suffering and see one of the countrys best- Dr. Bigelow.

Dr. Bigelow treated me for Menieres Disease. After treatment re: diet, medications, etc. were unsuccessful, it was decided that surgically severing the vestibular nerve would be the final attempt. The surgery was completed with complete success. I have never had an incidence or recurring problem, since the surgery in 2000. I would gladly speak with anyone suffering from severe MenieresDisease, who might be considering the surgery.
