PCCA philadelphia council for community advancement is located in the Jewish federation building. They provide housing courses for first time buyers . The housing counselor provided a wonderful 4 hour program with refreshments and surprise gift basket prizes for winners to Q&A QUIZ. They explain everything regarding the house buying process including tips and tricks to improve your credit and grants anyone can apply for. Mortgage companies and realtors provide valuable information.Very professional staff. Clean wide auditorium.

I have mixed feelings. Federation provides wonderful services but I cant get over the fact that a past president decided to close Stiffel Senior Center. Very shameful that he wasnt embarrassed to say it was being closed because there werent enough Jews accessing their services. They slowly took things away from us. The first thing to go was our monthly Sunday programs. We had subsidized trips to various venues, Atlantic City, two different dinner theaters, and blamed it on the economy. It later turned out they were funneling money into the Klein Community Center in NE Philadelphia. A Save Our Stiffel committee was formed to try to save the center to raise the $400,000 the powers that be claimed was needed to keep building open. Later a one program was opened at the Federation building then they slowly chipped away at the few things we had. We lost our social worker, the $5 gift cards we received for the local supermarket. A promised second day never materialized as more and more amenities added to Klein including a dentist. Actually, in hindsight they only rate of three stars because of the dreadful treatment of mem
