DAV VSOs worked hard to represent us in the Past. These people are Currently working hard to represent us under difficult conditions. The DAV VSOs are the BEST specialists in the country and they will work hard for us in the Future. Please be PATIENT ! They have represented me thru three complex claims and I have won every medical condition on every claim. THANK YOU DAV !

I paid my initial Donation for lifetime membership. Using the Philadelphia DAV was probably one of my biggest mistakes in life. They submitted my initial claim paperwork to the VA which I could have done myself. I had zero guidance on completing paperwork, what or what not to take to my initial screening with the VA. Long story short, I was awarded for two injuries I have but denied my Back Claim. What I was awarded for was obvious and had nothing to do with the DAV helping in anyway. Prior to submitting an appeal I tried calling the DAV to schedule an appointment to help me in the appeal process. I finally received an email stating to just come in. I went in, filled out the appeal paperwork with zero guidance again and waited. After numerous attempts to get an update I sent the DAV an email stating I was releasing them as my advocate. I received a phone call the next day explaining they were sorry and gave me a line how they are under staffed and will get me in the RAMP program, Blah, Blah Blah....... I fell for it and gave them another chance. They did get me in the RAMP program and my appeal was denied. I filed the correct paperwork and relieved the DAV as my advocate and went to another advocate that charges a few and was immediately given guidance and how we would proceed with VA approved civilian medical doctors giving their opinion. I had heard good things about the DAV, that is why I initially chose them. So maybe it was just the under staffed Philadelphia office. I personally recommend if you have the funds to use an Attorney or an advocate that does charge a fee. You get what you pay for.

This place is nothing but a pathetic scandal, wasting the money that is supposedly going towards helping us. Nobody does anything, its nearly impossible to contact them in any way, I had to do everything myself with ABSOLUTELY no help from them besides wasting days trying to contact them and visiting the building for absolutely nothing. Possibly more of a B.S. joke than the VA. Its disgusting how incompetent and careless the majority of staff for these organizations and services all about helping veterans are.

My father is a vet with power of attorney through this office. He passed over a week ago and I still have yet to get through to speak to anyone. Their automated machine doesnt even allow you to leave messages. Have had to deal directly with the VA since theyre just unavailable.

Been trying to call several times a day for over a week now. Just rings and rings. No answer machine or anything. Typical. Theyre happy to say they help veterans, but apparently not actually speak to them.

My claim form had 11 different items I intended to claim. My vso was very cantankerous and seemed to be in a bad mood. I look at my va correspondence and it says I only claimed 5 disabilities! I have to go there tomorrow and sort things out. Dont try to call, they never answer. Just show up at 8am and walk in. This is the only way you will be seen. PS: Scrutinize how your claim is processed, they arent interested in doing their jobs...

I also paid for a lifetime membership and cannot get an answer at the Philadelphia DAV office in order to speak to a service officer. I am a lifetime member of the VFW and past Commander of an American Legion post. Additionally, I was the 2016 PA American Legion Adjutant of the Year. Lastly, I am 60 percent rated by the VA. Why is this relevant? Because I am used to to dealing with VSOs and have never experienced such poor service. I emailed their national email address, hopefully something will get done from there. If you are looking for benefits guidance in the Philadelphia are, I HIGHLY recommend caution when looking toward the DAV, much less giving them money. Very disappointed.
