Awful. Just awful. While I like my doctor, everyone else here is worthless. They will force you to come in for a visit just to refill your prescriptions. They probably just want your copay. Do yourself a favor and go to a real medical provider. I’ve absolutely hit the limit of my patience with them.

The people are nice, but I cant keep doing this on and off hormones thing, its damaging me emotionally.

I would NEVER recommend this sad excuse for a practice to anyone. They don’t care about their patients. They don’t return phone calls, even if they’re urgent. They don’t care. It would take over a week before I’d ever hear anything. Even if it’s medication related, they will not get back to you in time. I’m so fed up with this place and am immediately going somewhere else.

The Mazzoni Center is a wonderful place! I do not usually leave reviews, but seeing the abundance of one star reviews was very strange to me. I have received wonderful care from providers there, who have always been comforting and accommodating - while remaining professional. Without the Mazzoni Center I would not have been able to transition. The desk staff are quiet but helpful.

Went to this place a couple yrs ago so I’m not sure if staff is the same but I must say my experience here was wonderful. all the staff was kind and helpful and my doctor was AMAZING & went above & beyond for me. He came all the way back to the center after my appt almost missing his flight to reissue a medicine I had thrown up & gave me his personal phone number just in case I had any complications again, also they ordered free pizza for everyone in the waiting room during my visit! Care was affordable & prompt as well. I’d definitely go back /recommend to friends

This was the only place to get hormone therapy but they really messed up with the lack of care. They referred me to the surgeon Kathy Rumer and that she took insurance and now I ended up with a disability after what she did to me. After I consulted the provider for follow up, she didnt even help me. Maybe thats why theyre no longer there. It seems like all they care for is showing off by providing referrals and advertising as if they care about the minority community. I shouldnt have listened to them.Im in deep regret.

After waiting on hold for someone for over 30 minutes the person I spoke to was very kind! Every star is for you, buddy. Unfortunately, the wait list for gender affirming care is currently An Entire Year Long. Please consider hiring more doctors or working out more availability. I was warned your waitlist was long before calling, but an entire year? in a country where we are expected to pay for medical care? Thats pretty absurd. I was not recommended anywhere else or pointed in another direction.

The amount of times they’ve canceled right before an appointment is insane, not even to mention the amount I’ve gone there and then my doctor wasn’t even there, they never answer messages over the portal and never send me the links to meetings on time causing me to miss appointments the only good thing about this place is that it’s allowing me to transition.

The center has an agenda, dont you forget it. Not so much a specialty, but an agenda.I have had the experience that they will push me into Anti Retro virals for HIV but not address a simple tonsil infection or rash. For years, I went there for refills and treatment of Insomnia, Depression, etc. They pushed me away then. Went somewhere else after being treated after needing dosage changes. Now, having treatment for the most mundane issues takes multiple, multiple visits back and forth with little to no communication from the physician through the portal, which was all the rage 10 years ago.Is this really the new generation of medical care? Playing portal tag back and forth with a physician who went on vacation and didnt forward his messages? It used to be such a nice place.Too much emphasis on pronouns rather than medicine. The medical center hides behind liability in dragging fairly simple medical problems out for months.

None of the providers I saw bothered to follow up with my ongoing pain. All they did was talk like they cared but there wasnt action. Made me lose my trust for the person who I thought was going to help me and then there were no response altogether despite my many messages in the portal. I dont trust them anymore.

My Father passed away 10 days ago. Death Certificate was sent to them a dozen times, multiple phone calls, emails. Still have not been able to proceed with funeral arrangements due to Doctors not signing death certificate. We get the run around. Medical and police arrived day of his passing and obtained DC, but it is on his Primary Care physician to sign DC. Without it, we cannot proceed. Very sad and frustrating.

I have been going to the Mazzoni center for over 8 years since i have been living in the city, to say i am satisfied with my service there is an understatement. This place is amazing, from the service to the people i have never received anything but 110% from everyone to help me in any way i needed. The location is very clean and your wait is never long; in a time where this kind of medical care is not always affordable they have made it easy to maintain your personal and sexual health without the stress of cost. The Mazzoni center is a great example of how healthcare and the public should be treated. Bravo

When I started going to mazzoni 15yrs ago when I started my transition, they were very focused on helping and making sure their transgender patients got the care they needed. Unfortunately in tge last 3 years ive noticed that has changed alot! If you need an appointment you cant get one unless its 6 months down the line and as far as getting refills...ha thats another task in itself?. It saddens me that they are more focused on cisgender WHITE patients than anyone else these days. It looks like I may have to go elsewhere for care

And still no refill for my HRT meds. Mazzoni center apparently no longer uses the patient portal to communicate with their patients. 6yrs going there and. Now Im seriously considering finding a new Trans Care office. Cause apparently Mazzoni center doesnt care if you get your meds or not.

These are the types of places to stay away from if you are transgender. They make up their own guidelines for things such as obtaining hormones when private practice doctors take less time AND MONEY. These places are notorious for taking advantage of us. Please make sure that you know the requirements for everything on your journey because MANY so called professionals will try to take as much of your money as possible. The accepting of INSURANCE is a hook. You have 3 - 4 times the number of sessions to get on hormones than someone in private practice and you will end up paying these people more money!

Unorganized and terrible communication. No knowledge of anything lgbtq related.

You wait on hold for 20 minutes to never hear back. I have left numerous emails, calls, and attempts to reach the Mazzoni center. They are highly unprofessional in meeting my needs. Every time I try to call them they take days if not a whole week to get back to me and disregard my medical concerns. I told them back in October about a severe medical need that needed attending and they did not seem concerned. I was told by one of the staff members I would be called back by Valarie, but she never called. She left me an email and I replied and they never got back. Ive been dealing with them for years of going back and forth and they are ill equipped. They tell me to travel 3 hours to be seen by a nurse when I need a specialist. This is unacceptable.

Got switched to a new doctor, Dr. Gross. Saw her once after my old doctor stopped working at the office and got my hormones set. Almost a year goes by (the normal amount of time between appointments that I’d had with my old doctor after 3+years of HRT). Ran out of meds, needed a refill and was told I needed to make my next appointment. The morning of, I learned the bus company I normally used for transportation to Philly went under, so I had to reschedule. Doctor wouldn’t refill my scripts unless I got external bloodwork done, citing my safety. Two weeks later, after a few messages trying to get a blood test apt set up elsewhere, no response during that time. Then a week later I get a message saying she hasn’t been in the office and will send a 2 week script to last til my apt. My question, if my health is so damn important that you can’t send one more month, then why would you make me stop them for essentially three weeks only to send a small script?? Now when I go in to my rescheduled apt my labs are obviously gonna be f*d due to your lack of availability.

Ive been coming here for a decade. before they moved, it was truly the best place to receive the plethora of health and mental care in philadelphia. the staff were friendly, understanding, listened to you, appointments were available with the doctors you asked for, it felt like a family. ever since they moved to bainbridge and all the doctors started leaving, its just not the same level of care at all. appointments are non existent, they had none of my paperwork or history ready when i showed up. the staff seems to be more annoyed than ever, and short with the patients. the doctors dont seem to know anything. the mental health staff were clueless about all the things i asked. i dont know what happened, but i wish they would go back to the way it was before bainbridge. ive already switched providers, it was hard to do, but without that level of care, i dont see any point in going there anymore.
