This location is prime, and greatly outcompetes the neighboring ACME in terms of quality. Weekends are bustling, and theres a decent crowd. Very few other grocers in central Philly can compete with Whole Foods selection.

The cash register attendant was amazing. I didnt know how to ring up my cucumber. Apparently, it was a slicing cucumber. They were knowledge, helpful, delightful and attentive. I appreciate that kind of aupport. The store is clean and easy to navigate and the seafood was fresh and neatly displayed. The produced looked healthy and the options are plentiful. With my prime discount my groceries where even affordable and parking was a breeze.

Only place nearby to get the good beet juice.

I have gone to Whole Foods every Friday for months and ordered 2, 2 topping pizzas with vegan cheese. 4 Fridays ago I have an issue where it took them 3 hours to make the pizza and then it was burned. The manager assured me it would NEVER happen again. I cooked the next week, then I ordered from another restaurant last week and today I went back. I am happy to say my pizzas were ready and on time BUT I brought them hope before checking them just to find they are completely charred and not even edible. I can never in good faith recommend friends and family to go there again and in addition of you happen to go there please please check you food before leaving. Both PIZZAS completely black, burned, CHARRED and I still have to order food the whole purpose of going there, my time, my gas, my money all wasted.

Very clean store, great selection. Lots of plant based products, vegan, and gluten free items, making it a one stop shop for the whole family. Self checkout makes everything a breeze.

Excellent selection. Good products.a bit pricey but a decent location and on South Street which cannot be beat. You can drink beer there and then store and that is pretty cool too. Highly recommended if youre looking for healthy food options and youre in South Street area of Philadelphia.

Didnt have what I wanted but were well stocked and knowledgeable staff kinda small store compared to their other stores, checkout line moves pretty quickly..

That didnt have sunflower seeds, and the body wash was quite expensive. But, whole foods is a premium retailer, so its understandable.

Honestly, the store itself is great, but last time I was here I heard a staff member deny the bathroom to a nurse dressed in scrubs that had just finished checking out because the bathrooms accessible to the public are only open Monday - Friday 10am - 3pm. This is unacceptable and frankly classist - most working class people cannot shop during those hours. If the store is open, the bathroom should be open.

Im sure its a nice neighborhood but I find a lot of the customers I encounter here to be quite strange: they come off as hostile and do not know how to say excuse me. The place is often crowded and people just give me looks or get awkward when they cant get by. Service from the workers is okay, though slow. Great products although some things are more expensive here than in other places. Just have to shop smart.

The bad rap this place gets is that its too expensive. Probably true. But you wont find more unique, tastier food items anywhere else!

I love this Whole Foods! Its always stocked, even through covid theyve done a fantastic job at keeping the shelves full. All the employees are super helpful if you have any specific questions. The only tough part is coming in and out of the parking lot or finding street parking. I love the location being right on South Street in Philadelphia. There is so much more to do down that street so its great for tourism too!

It always amazes me how whole foods gets away with overpricing items. I went to buy the fresh baked bread . I normally buy my fresh bread at Wegmans but I have not been in the king of Prussia area this week. I decided to get my bread at whole foods on South Street because the last time I purchased bread it was prey good. I picked up some bread and noticed it seemed a little different. So I got home and I realized the cut the bread slices in half and gave less slices but the price remaied the same. My Aunt told me she was over whole foods and So am I.

Love this whole foods location! It tends to be very busy always so be prepared for that if coming here! They have a wonderful selection of bakery items and their produce & groceries are top quality. Although whole foods can be pricey, as a prime member I enjoy discounts and benefits! If you have Amazon prime definitely dont forget to scan the qr code in your app at checkout and always pay with your prime visa card if you have one. I love all of the sales that they offer. Good Whole Foods - but I prefer the one in Fairmount. Its larger, and has a much bigger variety of plants (maybe a silly reason to go to Whole foods), and has the restaurants in the front. This one seemed like a great addition to the neighborhood though, and I will stop back by if Im ever walking on South St and need to pick up some groceries.

Its great overall but way too overcrowded whenever I come in. My main reason for going here is , I love the selections in the bulk section like the seeds I cant get from local stores. Maybe its time for a vegan slice of pizza to be available too.

Convenient location, smaller Whole Foods which is typical for city locations, good solid customer service, top quality products, and the best thing yet, now that Amazon owns them you can have it all delivered to your door in a few hours!

Im really not sure how this location has such positive reviews. I live about a block away and will always walk further to go elsewhere. Its entirely hit or miss. At best if you go super early they may at least be stocked, but more times than not they are out of multiple products, with tons of employees/amazon shoppers completely unmindlful of social distancing in the aisles and often rude. It has taken me many a poor experience to throw in the towel and boycott this place, since I live so ridiculously close and really want to like it. With Trader Joes and Moms Organic Market at a reasonable distance, the frustration of taking a gamble on this Whole Foods isnt worth the convenience.

With COVID spiking, its good to know there are places that actually wipe down between customers. Whole Foods is clean, well stocked with fresh produce and other items. If I lived closer, this would be my choice of store to shop in.

Great seafood department. The mongers here really want to help! The store itself is small and has some unique properties. Like the customer base. The prepared foods here are pretty good. Its all around a decent spot to get groceries.

I shop here regularly and this store in particular has done a consistently good job at disinfecting the registers and follow social distancing guidelines. With all that being said I actually hate shopping here. The abundance of Amazon shoppers have created a really poor experience for the average citizen. The already limited parking is even more limited, the aisles are always cramped and there is a always cart in the way, and often times stock is depleted. I wish Amazon would create a specific grocery store for this service and leave this location for the consumers.

A good layout for the small store. Not enough cash registers open before closing that includes the self checkout stations. You have more employees standing around the self checkout stations that stations that are actually available, ridiculous.

I love this Whole Foods Market. Its my favorite location and produce market in general. Its big, updated and they carry the specific items I am looking for. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the hours are good also. Their bakery and ready to eat food section is always fresh and filled. The prices are average to pricey depending on what you are buying but I dont mind to much because they carry the items I need and want. I always tell people to go to Sotuh Street Whole Foods in Philadelphia because they never disappoint.

Although this Whole Foods is in Philadelphia, I still go..And Im a good Hour and some from here.. Food for Health, Food for All.. A little bit of everything to shop for.... Courteous employees, willing to help if your in Seafood department and your in Dairy department 🤦🏽‍♀️..My question was answered 🤗I recommend this Whole Foods

It feels very strange to shop in this store. There is a guy behind the coffee counter secretly taking everyones temperature and the cashier handed me my receipt without even looking at me. I only saw the back of her head. Its really gone downhill since Amazon bought them.

The Salad bar is awesome..layout was amazing. The store appeared to be clean , But the restroom smelled jus like urine..Disgusting!

While Whole Foods is a beautiful grocery store and has everything I need, I was sad to see that ALL the check out stands along the wall were replaced by self checkout. And all the people that worked there for years at the check stands are gone. This is why I have been shopping at Sprouts or Trader Joes.

The supermarket I love to hate. I go to South Street because the one by the Parkway is difficult to navigate, parking is a nightmare, and it is really just a giant food court. South Street’s WF is just right: parking is easy, the staff are nice, the offerings are great. The Pacific Rim coffee is the absolute best deal for excellent coffee. They have good fresh pizza too.

My local whole foods is good, if a bit small. Surely, I have never waited too long in line here and the service is typically friendly.The location on South Street is very handy. There is free parking and when there be sure to check out some of the attractions on South Street like Magic Gardens.

This place is really really expensive. However, if high quality produce is your game, youve come to the right place. I am a big fan of their salad bar. I love stopping in for a quick meal. This is also a great place to stop to get alcohol during a South Street block party.

I used to love this Whole Foods and come every week. Now the bulk section is frequently out of the items I need and the employees are very rude and unhelpful when asked to refill (to the point that I’ve gone and asked if they could refill and two employees said they were totally out until another came out with a fresh bag). I’ve finally reached the end of my rope. I won’t shop here again, I’m switching to Trader Joe’s and Sprouts.

I have been shopping at Whole Foods for over 3 years and frequent this location in addition to others around the city and beyond. I have returned many items for quality in the past- specifically produce that goes bad within 24-48 hours. Even during COVID, I have been able to exchange items for quality as the signs clearly state. Today I attempted to exchange organic raspberries that I had bought less than 2 days ago and the older gentleman at the customer service counter (I believe he is the manager) was incredibly rude to me when I simply asked to exchange the item. I told him I have never had an issue exchanging an item for quality at a Whole Foods before and he was incredibly rude and said “well we’ve never had a pandemic before so...”. Not only was this extremely rude but it didn’t make any sense. His made up policy also went against all of the signs sitting on the counter in front of him. I love Whole Foods products and usually love the shopping experience but I have encountered this particular employee on multiple occasions now in a negative way. I will be switching to the Fairmount location.

I actually love Whole Foods and shop there often, but I normally shop at the one on Pennsylvania Ave. Today (4/1/2020), however, I stopped at the one on South Street and couldnt believe how different the customer service is at that location. It was like night and day. Many of the employees I saw were either standing around engrossed in conversations with each other, while others looked totally uninterested in their jobs because they were on their cell phones. I purchased two bottles of wine, and when I proceeded to stand in line to checkout, one of the cashiers (it was a guy with dark hair but I didnt get his name) reprimanded me for standing in the check out line at the front of the store, by militantly informing me that I needed to go back to the wine section because my purchase had to be rung up there. Now to be honest, I hadnt ever purchased wine at Whole Foods, so I didnt know that was their policy. And if , in fact, that is their policy, I do feel that his nasty tone of voice was totally unnecessary and a reflection on the type of customer service Im complaining about in my review.So, I learned something today. From now on, I will only Shop at the Whole Foods on Pennsylvania Ave. because the one on South Street is in desperate need of an attitude adjustment and a compete makeover on customer service.In conclusion: Please take note to how the negative reviews here pretty much say the same things (rudeness and poor customer service). And yet, nothing has been done about it.

No social distancing, they have the customers coming in and going out the same door and it was crowded. Will not be going back.
