I had no choice but to change to Aetna since Jefferson no longer had a contract with United Healthcare and I needed to have a mechanical heart pump put in. I hate this insurance ...fresh out of major open heart surgery still healing I was denied for them to pay for a 7 day supply of pain meds reason ..not medically necessary. Then a common prescribed heart medicine for Lvad also denied not medically necessaryWho in the hell makes these decisions a 3 year old ? Surely not a doctor because who in their right mind denies someones pain meds for a open heart surgery !? Ya know where your breast bone is broken to get to your heart ....I wish I could go back to United Healthcare because this right here is unacceptable in my book . I shldnt have to file grievances and wait weeks for my meds ....dont waste your time with this company because you might die waiting for them to approve meds or services

How is this considered health care?!! HORRIBLE. I have had a terrible experience all month when my health issues started they don’t pick up the phone and when you do somehow get a person they’re totally clueless. Two days post surgery and my doctor marked a medication urgent and it’s been 8 hours and no authorization yet when I’m in excruciating pain. I’ve called several times today and no one has an answer besides “call back later and check” I was just told there is a 24 hour turnaround time for this authorization EVEN THOUGH IT IS MARKED AS URGENT. Absolutely disgusting. I asked to talk to a manager and they told me they would call me in an hour when they’re done their “meeting” haha what a joke! This company should just be shut down you’re helping absolutely no one.

Please do yourself a favor and choose any other insurance besides this one.The representatives, although nice, are very unknowledgeable. Ive asked 3 different representatives the same question because it was never resolved and got 3 different answers and courses of action.For some reason, PCPs in their system are always listed under the wrong address, which results in the office not seeing you until you spend hours on the phone figuring out how to change it AND THEN issues with Aetna not paying claims.I originally chose Aetna Better Health because I thought Aetna was such a large insurance company that their service couldnt be that bad. I was wrong.

They dont cover any outpatient mental health services in my experience and every single doctor I call on the find a provider list tells me they dont accept the insurance. Even when I call aetna to get providers the office ends up telling me they dont take the insurance. Its incredibly frustrating. They also deny almost every medication off the bat. Ive had to appeal 4 prior auth denials each for two medications and do a grievance meeting for each one. The customer service people are usually nice but they have no idea what theyre doing. I get different answers for the same question every time I call. It took me 15 months to resolve a billing issue with quest and they basically told me they couldnt help. I finally found someone who told me its illegal to balance bill medicaid patients and finally had it resolved. Which I handled myself because Aetna told me they wouldnt help me anymore. 15 months!! Awful insurance.

It’s really disheartening that this insurance is not accepted by any MENTAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES, especially Psychiatrists. This is probably not only the fault of this insurance company, but also healthcare providers in general. Either way, it’s still upsetting and downright SAD. All that said, prescription and doctor visits are generally well covered, in my personal experience. Also, every customer service representative has been as helpful as possible!

Very very disgusted with Aetna. I was told back in May2020 of last year that they would cover my home birth due to covid, I said wow awesome! So I can now choose a midwife? They said yes, I chose my midwife and paid the bill because Aetna said they would reimburse us. What a total lie that was, we called literally almost everyday trying to follow up and every single person we spoke to had a different story and you could tell they were trying to backtrack and not cover the midwife. Not to mention how rude some of these agents were. We finally were told about 3 months ago everything was cleared and you are covered expect a check in the mail soon, a check never came. my midwifes biller then finds out 3 months later they changed their mind because her billing address was a PO box... what?!? if you never planned on covering then you should have stated that from the beginning. now Im out this money that you promised was covered as if we need to lose anymore money during a pandemic that people arent allowed to work.

The customer representatives are highly unprofessional. I work in customer service and have to answer peoples questions and concerns. I get how frustrating it can be at times. Especially when people are yelling at you, talking rude to you or just not understanding the information provided. However I was completely nice up until both representatives gave me a condescending and disrespectful tone. I do not appreciate this as I mentioned I work in customer services. At the end of the day you are there to address the customers concerns. Please reevaluate your management!!

Awful awful customer service. I called to see how much a procedure was going to be before I decided if I was going to get it done. The girl said that she or her supervisor would get back to me within a week as to the price. More than 2 weeks go by, no one gets in touch with me. So I call again. I get told a price for the procedure and decide to get it done at it was going to be about $550. I get my bill and I about had a heart attack! It was $5,550! I call and ask to speak to a supervisor, not knowing what the heck happened! She had a major attitude right from the start. Nothing got resolved. No one you talk to on the phone knows how to do their job. I don’t recommend anyone get Aetna insurance ever!

I’ve been trying for 2 months to find a doctor who accepts this coverage and I feel so embarrassed to say I have this type of insurance. No one accepts it! They say no ma’am we don’t accept that issuance like it’s a disease or something! The list they provide you on the website is all false information. I called every number and NO ONE ACCEPTS THIS COVERAGE! I’ve even tried to call known doctors around my town and still no one accepts it. I can’t give up because I really need to see a doctor before I pass away however I’m so exhausted. Makes you wanna give up. I’m trying hard to find better insurance because I can’t continue to go through this.

Everyone should know they publish fake doctors listings who no longer take the insurance. You see, Medicaid Doctors are not getting paid so they stop accepting new people. But its worse than that for me. I had doctors and their office staff take out their frustrations out on me, namely Temple Neurology who refused to even deal with them. Not only that but its illegal to post doctors listings and you cant go to them. You cant raise the money and pay the doctor you need to see because if a doctor accepts even 1 single patient from medicaid, they are not allowed by law to accept payment.Not only that but these people said they were helping me and couldnt do the basic things like get my records from doctors who now wont see me and I had to go to a new doctor. Its been a disaster and Im giving up.Ive been treated so poorly by all sides that Ive decided to pack it in and realize that I will never get help for the many medical problems I have. Its not just this insurance company, others too are doing this.I could be time to check out and escape the medical problems no one will help me with. Telling them the nerve damage in my chest is so severe at times, Im not able to speak doesnt phase them. They got me no help. All I got was hassles. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THESE PEOPLE FOR THEY ARE THE WORST OF THE COMPANIES FOR MEDICAID. My death shall be on their hands and I want the world to know I begged for help, and they didnt get it for me for they lie and commit fraud by publishing doctors you cant go to and no one wants to deal with them. Dont use them. U better off getting private insurance. Try to find an affordable one I kno its hard thats why we have it. U will go through misery especially if its dental. Doctors will refuse to give major treatment like root canal. They will keep giving you the run around because they pay is garbage. Of course the doctors wont tell you. I experienced it the hard way. Now Im trying to get help because they are useless. For vision its good. But for dental you will suffer because its expensive. Dentist will only do basic things. Other than that they wont fix major issues. NOT RECOMMEND. again try your best to get alternative insurance.

If I could give zero stars I would. Hands down the least helpful, health insurance I have ever had. HOWEVER they are the only Medicaid insurance that cover more than just Bucks county. And as my son is in school in Berks county I have no choice but to keep them. Abysmal. Only 1 phone number to call, and no one that has ever answered the phone has been able to help my find the specialist that I need. Going on 3 months of searching....pathetic

This is the worse insurance ever. I HAVE BEEN DENIED asthma medication which is a life threatening illness. I have been without my inhaler sense January. I also have had to go to the emergency room to seek treatment which costs thousands of dollars Aetna doesnt have a problem paying for that but wont approve my medication so Im switching as of March 1st

I have insurance through this horrible company who can not seem to help Medicaid members find a dentist in the area I live in. Very unprofessional and rude. One woman had kids screaming in the background. I had to go online and register myself to try and find a provider. Nothing is ever listed. This is the worse insurance and services I ever experienced. During COVID-19 we are suppose to get help.

Excellent customer service and I was able to go to a chiropractor for the first time in my life, which all the other insurances I looked at doesnt offer. Every time I call the customer service reps are very patient in listening to my concerns or reasons for calling, and they always resolve any issues I have. The wait times are unbelievably fast. Ive never waited longer than 5 minutes to speak to someone. Im highly confused by the bad reviews but ignore them if you want great coverage.

Dont use! It took close to 3 months to get insurance through them because they kept losing information. They then lost 2 of my checks(they cashed them, but didnt post them to my account). On top of that no doctor accepts them. I didnt know when I picked the plan that Aetna and Aetna better health are not the same. Doctors who accept Aetna dont accept Aetna better health. On top of that the customer service was horrible. I literally was calling about twice a week just to get the issues resolved and hold time was always 20min or more followed by a representative who would give me miss information. Switched to UPMC a little more expensive but worth it. No issues!

The absolute least helpful insurance company you could ever come across! I spoke with the rudest person named Candice that wouldnt give me her last name, thought the fact that a mirror going through my leg and tore my muscle was funny, and conveniently all the supervisors were in a meeting. Im sure their training doesnt teach them to be unhelpful and as rude as possible, but I will be writing a letter to find out and to make a complaint against candice with no last name or employee ID!

I avoided this provider through a previous employer because none of our doctors accept it but through circumstances out of my control it was assigned to my children and I recently. My 5 year old got sent home from school this morning because of ear pain/probable infection. Call her doctors office to find out they do not accept this garbage insurance.... despite Aetna telling me my kids pediatrician is on their list of PCPs!!! When I try to call Aetna I just get a busy signal and the call is disconnected. The other number I found online just rings then goes silent. My poor kiddo is in pain and I cant even take her to her doctor that has been seeing my girls for 13 years... I am absolutely livid right now. You all should be ashamed.

Worst insurance EVER!! I called for dentist assistance they gave me a list of 4 that take the CCC plus. So I called to ask just to make sure and NONE OF THEM TAKE IT. I doubt if any of the services they list are accurate. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED and it’s super embarrassing.

I had an appointment for over a month! I went in and they suddenly do not take my insurance which I very clearly confirmed that they did take before I made an appointment and waited a MONTH! They lady didn’t even offer to let me get the FREE consult- as if she assumed I would only be getting this procedure if insurance covered it. I’ve heard great things about this doctor however the staff was not welcoming and nor was she helpful. Major thumbs down for the lack of customer service as well as the shame I felt! Shame on you staff.

Most of the qualifying Aetna Pa doctors are located closer to Harrisburg pa. They seriously do not have many doctors in Philadelphia, pa. I had to travel 100 miles to see a specialist. They also do not have any doctors for more serious illnesses like liver transplant all the qualifying doctors are out of network in Pa. You will need a referral and it must be medically necessary.

Horrible, especially with dental care. been trying since JULY last year to find an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth. every time they accept at first, and then say a week or even DAYS before the consultation/surgery appointment they dont take the insurance anymore, leading us to wait 6 more months to get DENIED again. numbers theyve given us dont even exist, or lead to something completely different. they dont inform clients of switching to this skygen company, making what we thought would finally be the oral surgeon (that THEY referred us to in the first place) become unavailable, or now we pay out of pocket for the whole thing instead of waiting and probably be let down again. nobody takes these people, couldnt even get a therapist that gets covered by them in my area. cant wait for my wisdom teeth to bring constant pain all because this embarrassment of an insurance company covers absolutely nothing and they cant get extracted unless we want to go broke. what a sham. if you have other options PLEASE save yourself, read the other reviews, dont pick them.

Literally my first online review ever. The PCP they gave me was for a pediatrician. That should be enough info for how bad they are. I then went 0/3 on doctors listed on their own website trying to find one who even took their insurance. Its just a scam for everyone involved.

Aetna is the kind of insurance that has denied a cancer patient their medicine, a suicidal person their treatments, and a general caller any form of kindness.I fall into the second and third category, and the news covered the first (women recently died due to Aetna turning down her medicine to alleviate her curable cancer).I called because I just moved to PA and was given this insurance. Right off the bat, they denied ALL of my medications, assigned me to a doctor over 80 miles from where I live, and have been unyielding in fixing these problems. Aetna literally is the insurance company that people refer to when they generalize how much people hate insurance companies.TL;DR If you have a choice, choose ANYONE BUT AETNA. Your health is second to their profit margin.

Ive tried to schedule doctor and dental appointments so many times but they fail to go through because this dumbass insurance kept denying everything. No hospital in my city will except this sorry excuse of an insurance company. Even when I suffered having pneumonia in my lungs. They didnt cover my treatments. I had to pay out my own pocket. Now excuse my language but Im really pissed off. I really advise you not to get this insurance. You really have to pay out your pocket just to get something done.

Worst insurance Ive ever had.I had to go to the hospital and be hospitalized twice for something severe that couldve led to an operation and I got a letter in the mail saying that they wouldnt pay for anything because I didnt have an elevated heart rate or surgery which wasnt true at all. The second time I had to go to the hospital and stay I got another letter in the mail saying they would pay for the first visit but not the second. I have a child and cant have medical coverage that doesnt cover anything if or when the time comes. I didnt choose this insurance when enrollment time came around will be changing it as soon as possible.

NO ONE takes my insurance. Im in so much back pain right now but I cant find a doctor or urgent care that will take them. Iv had to suffer lady problems because no one would accept their insurance. Im so damn tired of suffering thru all these issues with insurance that I cant use. I wish I would have pi ked UMPC or someone else. Feeling utterly dehumanized. Having excruciating wisdom tooth pain and have not found one good dentist that accepts this insurance. The one that I did find was so rude, pushy, and sarcastic that I didnt feel safe having them do anything involving surgery on me.Never felt so expendable before.

Sons health insurance changed premium, I sent in a check for the amount, it gets withdrawn from my account, and his insurance goes inactive. I call and now I have to wait 2 weeks for them to process my claim because they made a clerical error screw them.

They are the worst insurance company ever. No one near me take this insurance so I basically have to go out of town to find a doctor that does take this insurance. I also get yelled at when I have to go to the emergency room.
