This Man knows what he is doing! I am very lucky to live in Philadelphia to be that close to his office. I am Very fortunate. I had a rare tumor in my pinky that was causing me severe pain and Doctor B removed it my nail has grown back and it looks like nothing ever happened. Good as New! Thank you Doctor B. If you are looking for the best of the best when it comes to surgery on your fingers and hands I highly recommend Doctor B! In my opinion best hand surgeon in the country!

To put it bluntly: Dr. Beredjiklian saved my life. I spent two years going from surgeon to surgeon, in excruciating pain with nerve damage in both my elbows. I woke up from the first of two surgeries performed by Dr. Beredjiklian, and IMMEDIATELY knew the surgery had worked. I was at the end of my rope - unable to hold my infant daughter or work, and in constant, unbearable pain. He gave me a new lease on life. I will forever sing his praises and be grateful that I found him.

I met Dr. Beredjiklian years ago in an emergency situation. He had other plans and so kindly called his mother and canceled them to operate on me after I had a terrible horseback riding accident. I have full range of motion and have gone on to have a fabulous riding career and it is solely because of his unparalleled skills. He is a gentleman and a saint and I will never, ever forget him.

Affliction: De Quervains Tenosynovitus.Experience: From the moment I walked in, the staff was extremely polite and helpful. I felt completely informed throughout both my visits there. Initial visit was for diagnosis, second for treatment (cortisone shot), although I could have opted to do the treatment on the first visit. (Just wanted to check my insurance first). The first two doctors that took a look, based off of several gentle hand and wrist points, described the condition and causes. Dr Beredjiklian then came in to confirm. All doctors were super polite, personable, very easy to talk to and professional. All of the doctors made sure to answer every question i had, and was patient while i made sure i had asked them all with no feelings of being rushed at all. When it came time to do the procedure Dr. Beredjiklian ran through exactly everything I would experience, accurately, as well as what to expect afterwards, so there were no surprises. I mentioned a small needle anxiety I have and he even went out to get a smaller needle and made small talk to get me through it (it honestly doesnt hurt really and once its over the one spot gets a little numb for an hour). Absolutely would recommend. I was in and out in under an hour.

I had been suffering with left thumb pain for the the past couple years. I went to a well-known orthopedic practice in Delaware and one of the Doctors there told me I had arthritis in the base of my thumb and that I needed to have a thumb joint replacement. I didn’t have that much confidence in their diagnosis as I got the feeling that they viewed each patient as as dollar sign. I opted for them to give me two corrosive shots over a 6 month period and with pain still returning, I sought out Rothman Ortho as they have a great reputation. I saw that immediately as the X-Rays Rothman took of my hand were in far better detail than my previous orthopedic practice. Upon meeting Dr. B, he took the time to explain to me why I was feeling the pain and what needed to be done to correct it. Dr. B did not look at me as a revenue source but instead as a person that he could help with medical care. I had extreme confidence upon meeting him (two appointments). He also told me that he was going to do a left thumb arthroscopy whereas the Ortho practice in DE wanted to do a thumb joint replacement. Upon doing further research, I saw that thumb joint replacement is not as effective as thumb arthroscopy and that my thumb would never regain full strength with the joint replacement operation that the other practice wanted to perform.Dr. B operated on my left thumb in June. The surgery itself did not last that long. My recovery was soo easy - I had been dreading it particularly the first week after the operation but I had no complications and no swelling. I was fitted with a removable cast about 10 days after the surgery and wore it for about 6 weeks. I adapted to the cast very well. Though sometimes in the middle of the night I would unstrap it just so my hand would have a brief sense of normalcy. After 6 weeks, I was able to stop wearing the cast and started physical therapy at Rothman. I only needed 4 sessions of it as I was able to replicate the exercises at home per the info sheets given to me and my own google research. I had my final check-up with Dr. B about two weeks ago - my thumb is doing well!! I highly recommend Dr. B - if you have any type of hand issue, he is the ONLY one you need to see!!! Dr. B is highly competent, has great bedside manners, views patients as individuals who he is there to help and is thee Top Hand Surgeon in this area!!!! I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of my surgery and am so glad I chose Rothman and Dr. B ... and you will too!!!

I still have pain in my elbow. Worse than before my surgery. And they discharged me and said, It should get better. Now I am really curious as to the actual reason for discharge. I told them every six weeks that I still had pain. And that has not changed. What do I do now?

I believe trust is a very big factor when choosing a doctor. Dr. B. has my absolute trust without one ounce of hesitation! He is professional, knowledgeable, informative, yet kind and caring...the kind of doctor from way back who truly cared about their patients..not like some today who only care about the insurance quotas and the money!Dr. B. operated on a tear in my arm and the carpel tunnel in my wrist, and I have been fine ever since! Whatever he would tell me to do, there would no second guessing him! He is a Top Doc and deserves the accolades! He genuinely cares about his patients well being and getting them on the road to recovery!Bravo Dr. B!

My 13 year old son snapped his radius and ulna in a wrestling accident and we originally looked at surgery with the trauma hospital where he was treated. We got a second opinion from Dr Beredjiklian who was able to perform a less invasive surgery (pin instead of plate) with tremendous results. It’s 2 years later and my son has full function of his arm and hand with no pain. He actually had his best wrestling season last year, after healing from his surgery. Dr Beredjiklian had great bedside manner and answered all of our questions. This past year I needed a carpal tunnel release surgery and he performed it. All I can say is it’s great to have full use of my hand back after years of numbness. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

Dr. Beredjiklian, I hope you will see this and I pray that you are well.Almost 20 years ago (1999) I was in a near fatal motorcycle accident - My elbow was dislocated and all 3 bones (ulna, radius, humerus) were compound fractured and broken in over 14 places. The Surgery that was performed (which I believe was written up in a journal) was extensive to the point where I now have 22 screws in my elbow. My biggest fear was not being able to play piano - as I am a musician. Well, its been 19 years and although I have slightly limited range of motion, I am in ZERO pain. I have played daily and thousands of shows. I am also able to exercise daily ( although Im careful not to lift too heavy) with no pain. It is truly a miracle and not a day goes by that I dont think of you. You may recall that I nicknamed you Dr Badass while in the hospital. I regret that I did not thank you enough after the accident as I got preoccupied with life - one that I owe to you and the many other Drs. and Nurses at Upenn. I sincerely recommend Dr. B to anyone in need of surgery!!

I knew there was something terribly wrong in my left wrist (I am left-handed) because of pain and the fact that when I picked up something, it felt as though the bones in that wrist were loose, as if they would move around. It was recommended that I go to the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia and specifically see Dr. Pedro Beredjiklian. When he saw the x-rays taken at Rothman at that first visit and the MRI I had hand-carried, he said it was going to be a serious and very painful operation. He explained what was wrong and what he would have to do. I asked him if I would be able to write. There were no guarantees, maybe I would be able to hold a “chubby” pencil. Before surgery, he looked at me and said “no worries” and I responded “ok, no worries”. I trusted him completely from that time on. Surgery was more complicated than he thought it would be. When the nerve block wore off the PAIN began and it lasted a long time but he had warned me of this.To make a long story short, I had x-rays taken every three months for two years and they kept getting better and better. A lot of new bone was forming and I was working hard with my hand physical therapist. I can do everything I could do before surgery. The only thing that is compromised is range of motion which I do not notice. My latest accomplishment is threading a needle holding the thread between my thumb and index finger. “Dr. B” is brilliant, does not sugar-coat the situation, and is reassuring. I went into surgery not afraid ...no worries.
