Thoroughly impressed by Dr. Gelbarts practice! The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. The office and patient rooms were extremely clean and well kept. The technician and dentist were were both super thorough with my cleaning and x-rays and with suggestions to help my cleaning routine, and with pointing out areas of concern. Would highly recommend booking an appointment here!

Cannot say enough great things about this dental office. Everybody I met there are super kind and attentive. I had called Dr Steven Gelbart thru a friend of him and his brother. It had been a over year since my last dentist (the dental spa-never go!) had broke a few of my teeth removing my crowns and was in pain not to mention my confidence level was on the floor at this point and Dr Gelbart took me in and fixed all my issues with the greatest of most care and got me back to where I feel (and look, my smile) great again. I tell anybody and everybody that needs a dentist to go here cause they are just downright good people, they care and they will get you back on track in oral care area. 100% would recommend this office to all my friend and family so you should go too. Youll be glad you did. Again I wanna thank everybody there for the great job and care I received.

Unfortunately I never even got to see the dentist. I made an appointment on Zocdoc over a week ago, and the office confirmed the appointment. Then, two hours before the appointment time, I received a voicemail from the office saying that appointment time was never actually available and I needed to call back to reschedule for another time. I tried calling back and left them a voicemail. They never called me back. This same thing also happened to my husband. Unfortunately I cant comment on the dentist himself, but if you are not going to use Zocdoc as intended, please stop using the product at all.

I had a great experience here! I had an implant done and there was no pain at all. The office is also super clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this dental office if you’re looking for a new dentist in the Philadelphia area.

Very efficient and organized office! I was a new patient and was able to get an appointment right away. Jaime was clear in communicating what was being done as well as being conscious of my needs during my cleaning and X-rays! Sometimes it’s hard when you have stuff in your mouth! Most hygienists let me drool until I say something. Dr. Steven was friendly and truthful. He even leveled out my two front teeth that had nicks in them, complimentary... thank you! I’d also like to mention I was a little hesitant about going into Center City but was so happy to find that his office was right on the street - no big building with elevators, getting lost! It was a fast visit! I need to come back to get something else done, however, they gave me a print out of what it would cost from my insurance coverage vs no insurance (I had a waiting period to be eligible for certain benefits). Needless to say, SUPER helpful! :)

The team at Independence Dental is awesome! Dr.Gelbart was incredibly thorough with his exam and addressed all of my concerns. The Dental Hygienist Jamie gave me a cleaning and was very detailed. Everything was explained to me in a very professional manor. The office looks great 5 stars.

I was referred here by My mentor name Ms.Sakinah Dawson , my heart was pounding so much, my nerves was a reck I literally just wanted to walk out but my teeth are very important to me, so I gave it a try and trusted in him. once I sat in that dental chair and he started the first step, and I didn’t feel not even a pinch of the general anesthesia injecting I knew everything was going to be a piece of cake 😀 so smooth and fast, he first did a tooth extraction, than placed an implant on that tooth space... I wasn’t there nomore than 45 mins!!! I wasn’t in any pain at all and still not haven’t any pain!! I’m so happy I went here and I’ll definitely be returning for the rest of my teeth that need any assistant from Dr.Steven Gelbart and his amazing team!!!!❤️❤️

The staff was very unprofessional to the point where I almost got into a fight with staff, the police was called and I filed a police report.I had a 2pm appointment and I did not leave his office until 6pm. He was not focused on my procedure. He is not good with multitasking. I have been going to Dr. Stephens since his days at dental solutions.My visits with him at his 7th street location now feel rushed. His new environment has an unprofessional feel. His staff needs to take a course in customer service and professional conduct in the workplace. The choice of music for the office settiing is completley inappropriate for the office. Dont waste your time I went because I had implants and I had to keep going back to him to get them recemented. The teeth kept falling out my mouth 2 times. Total waste of time and money The staff is no good. please be aware. He does not use anesthesia on his patients and hes not gentle. So if you are looking for a gentle dentist with a soft touch keep looking. My new teeth feels uncomfortable in my mouth .

After finding out my previous dentist would no longer accept my dental plan, I had to find a new dentist. Dr. Gelbert was opening a new office on 7th Street ( which is two blocks from my work ) So once they opened I went in and made an appointment. I couldnt be happier. He is a really nice person and staff are amazing ( all very personable and very sweet ). State of the art dental equipment and a very bright and welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend it.

I was stuck at home and in a lot of pain. My normal dentist was closed and I needed emergency attention - but didn’t want to go to the emergency room.So I found independence dental and they agreed to attend to me immediately. I recommend updating your hours across all platforms online. I was told my emergency request for dental service would be handled by this office when I called a hotline in the middle of the night desperate for help. Only to arrive at a location that was closed for the day.

I ended up having to come in for an emergency tooth extraction, He and his staff stayed late until I got there and removed a tooth that was causing me a great deal of pain. Having been patient (as has my daughter as well) of Dr. Gelbart for approx. 5 years in his previous office (before March 2020), I can say, without hesitation, that I am thrilled and delighted that he has now set out on his own. Indeed his new office on South 7th Street in Center City, near Chestnut, is not only convenient to everything, but is spacious, clean and comfortable. He is an excellent dentist who keeps up with all modern tech (and has even given given seminars on such to other dentists). He has a light touch when digging around in your mouth, and he even does same-day crowns, which are fabricated right in the office. He is super responsible about office hygiene. And he is quite compassionate about the predicaments and challenges in patients lives. All in all, this is a good guy and a great dentist!

Im a terrible dental patient, due to my extreme phobia of the dentist. Last year I began seeing a counselor to get help confronting my fear. Recently I had been through 2 rounds of antibiotics for a tooth infection prescribed by another dentist, who doesnt do extractions. He referred me to an oral surgeon that only did sedation dentistry and wanted to take all my wisdom teeth plus some others at the same time. My plan was to get the infection down and wait until my spring break to get it done. That way I could talk to my counselor a few times before..but...I was still in SEVERE pain and knew that I needed extractions despite my extreme fear. When the oral surgeon my previous dentist referred was closed, I needed another option fast. I called and recieved an appointment fast. I was nervous and scared, but when I walked in everyone was very kind, patient, and understanding. I didnt feel embarrassed or shamed for having terrible teeth or exhibiting childlike nervousness. They moved fast with x-rays and treatment options. My extraction procedure took 20 min, they let my husband hold my hand in the beginning, and I had spent just under an hour in the office. Im sooo grateful to Independence Dental!!💛💛 Im feeling much better, and Im definitely coming back.Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Yesterday I had the worst tooth ache of my life. My regular dentist office was closed and with all the crazy stuff happening in the world I didnt want to go to the emergency room. After searching online I was fortunate enough to come across Independence Dental Group. Dr. Steven Gelbart had just opened this new practice which is the cleanest and most modern office I have ever seen. Dr. Gelbart and his staff were accommodating, caring and treated me with respect. I needed a root canal on an upper tooth, and it didnt hurt at all! The entire process took an hour and I was able to watch butterflies move across a TV screen the whole time. I never thought I could enjoy being at the dentist!

Dr.Gelbart is a great dentist!!! Excellent staff. I had to go in today because I was having pain in my mouth I knew I needed a root canal , but he told me that the tooth couldn’t be saved so he had to pull it. I was soo nervous cause I had to get it pulled and I didn’t want to deal with the pain. He told me it will be alright and all I would feel is pressure. His assistant held my hand the whole time which I was grateful for because I had support!!! Even tho I was crying while he was doing it and screaming a bit lol he made me feel comfortable and spoke words of encouragement! He is a excellent dentist and nice person he knows his stuff. Let me start by saying this... I was in so much pain Friday and Saturday with a bad toothache. Scared to go to the dentist due to the covid 19. I took a chance and looked up emergency dentist. Scored big time!! Dr Gelbart talked to me Saturday night and said he will come in on his day off Sunday!! I’m a new patient that was in need of an dentist.. ASAP!! He was the bomb!! When I tell you that he gave me an X-ray told me I need a tooth abstract due to a chip decay tooth in the back. I’m scared.. for what? Lol.. He did his thing!! I didn’t feel anything!! Thank you Doc! Guess what??? I’m one of his new patients😍😍 along with my family🥰🥰🥰 Great dentist office, great Dr. and it’s nice and clean. Love it!!!! Let me start with how I have been suffering to get some relief from my pain for 4 months now i was having pain in my upper jaw above my one tooth and felt difficulty breathing like there was a blockage of some sort all day every day and I found out by a family member about Dr Gelbart. I have gone to numerous doctors, dentists, and an endodonist to try and find some relief where no one that could help me find some relief or an answer why. I went to an Ent, to my regular doctor which they did their best to try and help me had a cat scan a number of xrays AND COULDNT See anything wrong. what got me was the compassion and heart dr Gelbart had to see me and the expertise to be able to do a xray and see the problem RIGHT OFF THE BAT and recommended that the tooth be removed DUE TO A CYST and have an implant done, ONCE THEY REMOVED THE TOOTH AND CYST I FINALLY GOT RELIEF THAT ALL THE DENTISTS I WENT TO SAID THEY DIDNT SEE ANYTHING IF ANYONE WANTS TO KNOW A GOOD PLACE AND SEE MY REVIEW THIS MAN CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS AND PEOPLE AND IS A GOOD MAN AND I CAN SEE THE WAY HE TREATED ME AND WAS HONEST WITH ME ABOUT EVERYTHING HE SAW AND ITS HARD TO FIND A DENTIST THESE DAYS THAT ITS ABOUT THE PATIENTS AND I RESPECT THAT ABOUT HIM THANK YOU SO MUCH I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND FINALLY CAN HEAL. And start the process of my very first implant if this man is able to look and see from the xrays when others couldnt very professional and experienced highly recommend this Dr.

I would like to report dr . Steven gilbart at dental solutions on700 market street. I went into the office on Thursday of last week . I had a terrible infection and was treated was such ignorance and disrespect from both him and his assistant. I tried telling them about my previous health history ( peptic ulcer :possibilities of bacteria in the lining of my stomach. They both completely ignored to even ask me “ if anything had changed . They could have cared less! He took me in the back and cut so deep into my infected mouth ( I had burns from the metal bars on my thumbs ( pictures to prove it) I told both of them I don’t get numb and needed sedation during the birth of my son . They continued to disrespect me ( while my daughter stood by watching and listening) I was told I was difficult and never did he have a problem cutting an infection . When the oral surgery was complete his assistant told him I couldn’t have Motrin ( still never asking or even considering the fact that I have serious stomach issues ) he told me go two doors down and take over the counter Tylenol. He prescribed antibiotics and denied to give me prescription Tylenol . My husband called the next day due to serve swollen and pain and was told I was fine to continue over the counter Tylenol and antibiotics. As I laid in sever pain for days not being able to eat or sleep due to the poor medical profession who butchered my mouth , cracked my tooth and left a chunk tooth In my infected gum . I became very nauseous leading to white skin . Unfortunately due to Steven gilbart not following protocol or even taking a moment to listen to me. He prescribed me an antibiotic that is dangerous for anyone with stomach health issues , as myself ! Luckily I trusted my instincts and didn’t take all 30 capsules. I’m now on new antibiotics and Tylenol with codine. This is a disgrace ! I have never felt so vialated!
