I brought my puppy to a social today for the first time. About 10 other puppies were present, and it was great to meet other owners and pups. The trainers did an excellent job of providing structure and setting expectations. They even took time to talk to us personally about socialization/training tips based on our dog’s strengths and weaknesses. We will definitely be coming back!

Adopted a Doodle with some behavior issues (guarding, mouthing) & turned to OPBarks after a few friends recommended them. It’s only been 2 weeks & one private lesson in but it’s already made a huge difference in how we handle issues with the dog. Our household already feels calmer & Parker has taken to the lessons really well. Excited to watch him progress more & very relieved that we now have the tools to correct him in a way that doesn’t lead to us yelling or getting frustrated!

Getting my dog into training with Opportunity Barks is hands down the best decision I have ever made. My rescue dog is reactive and I have seen a huge improvement in his behavior after private day training and continuing group classes. All the trainers at OP Barks are truly invested in helping you and your dog have your best life together. Highly recommend!

Weve done our training for our dog, Korra, with OpBarks since she was a puppy (~9 months). We started her off with a board & train program for a few weeks because we were struggling with leash training (imagine a dog who walks with her nose to the ground, meandering from side to side like a drunk baby). Leigh and her colleagues were fantastic, introducing Korra and us to new equipment (nose loop) that was a huge help for her leash manners. The board and train was smartly followed by an in-person training session on pick up to teach us what Korra had learned so that we could be better communicators and leaders for her. After that was another session to check in, tie up loose ends, etc. Prior to coming to OpBarks, we had tried a puppy training class at a local PetCo, as well as had 6 at home training session with a private trainer. OpBarks was by far the most effective. Leigh and her team demonstrate a true understanding of dog behavior and understand that in many cases, the humans need as much training as the dog. We loved our experience so much that we also did a Reactive Dog group class with OpBarks and followed it up with a B-1 Foundations group class. Weve also boarded Korra at the OpBarks farm in Quakertown several times while away on vacation and have always come home to a tired, happy dog. Its been wonderful knowing that she is in good hands when were away. Recently, we moved to a new state and Korra has been anxious with her walks. We reached out to OpBarks to set up a virtual consultation and got a quick response. We were able to speak with Leigh about whats been going on and get suggestions, as well as some helpful training videos. Leigh & the OpBarks team have been an immensely helpful resource for us, and we would recommend them without hesitation.

We brought our little Koda to OP Barks at 3 months old for their puppy socials. This was great for her especially this young. She was able to socialize with other young pups in a controlled environment and the trainers taught us how to read our dogs and other dogs they interact with. These socials have helped build confidence in our puppy and now shes an extremely social puppy with no fears! Not only did we witness progress in our puppy but weve also witnessed shy and scared dogs grow drastically over the weeks. They went from hiding in a corner to playing with other dogs after a few weeks. I love this place and will continue to bring my puppy as long as I can!

I have known the crew at Opportunity Barks for two years, since we got our first pup. We always knew we wanted our dog to have great manners, both because we feel its important living in the city, and also because we want to volunteer with her as a therapy dog.We did basic training with Opportunity Barks, day school sessions, and walking clinics. Our headstrong pup was a nightmare with leash walking at first but after a few sessions she was an A student. We were lucky enough to be finishing up with her basic training around the time Opportunity Barks launched their Farm Dog program. Lara goes to the farm every week and it is one of her favorite things. She used to get so excited and spaz out, but through her training and therapy dog clinics at Opportunity Barks, shes learned to greet even her most favorite people with good manners.Even if you are looking for just the basics for your dog, I highly recommend Opportunity Barks. They are great at what they do, and good people as well. You and your dog will be in good hands.

We love Opportunity Barks. I can’t say enough good things. I don’t know where we’d be without all their help. Prior to opbarks, we had a jumping bean on leash who just wanted to greet (jump on) every person and dog he passed, refused to get groomed and demand barked all day. We’ve done many group classes and private trainings and they have helped every step of the way since we first started bringing our puppy at 4 months. We’ve even learned how to use the nose loop to help with impulse control, and it has been a true game changer in our training. Our puppy is now 7 months, a pleasure to walk on leash, well groomed and has learned to stop demand barking, and it’s all thanks to the wonderful trainers. We’re now working on agility classes as well to let out his energy and build up his confidence! He is a well socialized, calmer, happier dog, and we are happier, less stressed dog parents because of Opportunity Barks. They’ve provided us with the tools and skills to be successful. I recommend Opportunity Barks to all the new dog parents I meet, who ask how we have such a well behaved dog!

Recently got a black lab puppy. Heard about Opportunity Barks through a neighbor and have been taking our puppy Hendrix to the puppy socials for 6 weeks and he loves it. It was really important for us to socialize our puppy with other dogs at a young age. Going to the park, we mostly only play with larger dogs so having this class was a great way for him to play comfortably with dogs his own size. Also having the trainers watchful eye and guidance gave us confidence as they were great with providing feedback on his playdates. Our favorite part was the little report cards they gave after every social showing how he behaved and who his best buddies were that day. Would recommend Opportunity Barks to anyone wanting to socialize their dog.

I came to opportunity barks with the fear that if my puppy does not get help with his behavior with other dogs he will get himself bit at some point. They were able to socialize my puppy with other dogs in a safe environment (which was most imp) in a way I could not. He is now able to read the signals of other dogs and able to play with them. Plus did I mention how excited he gets when i drop him off!!!! Alyssa and Danielle are two of Sullys favorite people!!!

This is our second venture into dog training with a new family pet and we knew exactly where we wanted to go for professional and thoughtful help tailored to our needs. Opp Barks has a team of professional women who know dogs (and know their owners) and really deliver a fantastic program. They are also taking pandemic precautions as serious as they do their business. Our dog is happy and tuckered out after each session and is becoming a wonderful four-legged citizen in our home and in our community.

I’ve shared before but it’s been 6 months since I sent my little one to boot camp! After almost 2 years with my anxious and wild little dog, it’s such a relief to see her so at peace with the boundaries we have and her role in our family. Walks, crate, her chilling at my feet while I work have all become a dreamy little structured environment. She knows when to let loose, when to chill out, and even if she can still get nervous, her anxiety is so much lower. Thank you so much!

I initially came to Opportunity Barks for private training for my dog, Charley. She embarrassingly was growling at the groomer and had to be sent home. She overall was good, but had some pretty unpredictable behavior where she would growl or snap at people. It was causing a lot of stress at home (since my husband wasn’t ready for a new puppy). I brought her thinking we’d probably drop her off for a session or two and never return (yeah, I’ve done that in the past with my last dogs). We missed one day our first week (don’t ask…) but on Friday when I met with Ingrid and Sydney I was shocked what Charley learned in 2 days. I also learned more about her in 1 hour from people who just met her than I knew the 7 months we had her.Fast forward 3 weeks later and it was like having a whole new dog. Turned out I probably needed more lessons than Charley, but that’s fine! Ingrid explained what was going on, how I can build confidence, why Charley was acting the way she was, and even gave tons of tips for my new pup, and answered questions (lots and lots of questions) after the training was over, and gave tips on grooming her. I was shocked! Even better, once we got started it was like clockwork. I own a business so time is always short. I dropped her off and she was always done on time! No wasted time at all. Of course I was the one a little late every now and then and I never heard one complaint. Our 2nd pup is now in puppy class, which was the perfect compliment to dropping Charley off for them to do the work. Now I’m learning more, and Charley attends tune up classes, and clinics. Both dogs love it there (pretty sure if Ingrid took her, Charley would wave goodbye to me and head off with her…haha she’s obsessed), and I can honestly say she has become the dog of my dreams. Always the best behaved dog anywhere I go, and I cannot recommend Opportunity Barks more. Everyone there is so nice, and I can’t say enough amazing things about Ingrid, who literally remembers everything about every dog and has so much experience and knowledge. I really recommend the private training to get your dog quickly to where you want then tune up classes for you to learn more. You’ll be shocked what they can teach your dog in no time!It may take a bit to get in your favorite class or training, but there’s a reason they’re booked. It’s worth the wait and I promise you won’t be disappointed!!PS - I can drop Char off at the groomer and she’s perfect and I never worry about her growling at people anymore

When we rescued our fourth big dog, we knew we needed a lot of help to socialize and train her. After lots of research, Opportunity Barks stood out as the best choice for us. Their training techniques use positive reinforcement and enrichment games to keep dogs engaged and responsive to their humans. Women owned with all women trainers, they use love and encouragement to get even the toughest dogs to come around to their way of doing things. Our big girl was rescued by two different organizations before we adopted her, and their was much work to be done to and anxiety to overcome. Thanks to Alyssa, Rebecca, Audrey, Leigh and all of the incredible trainers here, we now have an amazing, calm, and loving girl who we can take anywhere. Take a look at their website and have a conversation with one of the trainers. You’ll be glad you did.

We were brand new puppy parents who thought we were totally ready to bring our little guy home. We had read a few books, followed some dog people on Instagram, and talked to our friends and family about their experiences. We were confident in our plan. Then we picked him up, and he had clearly not read the same material we did.We struggled with demand barking, puppy nipping, pulling like a sled dog on the leash, jumping, flopping to the ground when he didn’t want to come inside and more. A friend recommended we check out Opportunity Barks and we called right away, practically in tears, because we thought we would have to give our puppy back to the breeder. From the moment we made contact, we felt like we were being heard and that the staff understood our needs. Alyssa enrolled us in Day School Foundations, Ingrid taught us privately about the importance of life rewards and on Saturdays Leigh taught us all the skills we needed while Churro was working on being a calm, relaxed, attentive dog at school. Not to mention the countless Puppy Socials we attended to get Churro feeling confident around other dogs. When Churro started Day School Foundations there was a noticeable difference in him. More importantly, there was a noticeable difference in us too. Each day when we picked him up the ladies at Opportunity Barks shared their wisdom, their experiences, book recommendations, equipment suggestions and more. Each time we needed an equipment change Alyssa took the time to work with us to make sure we were all (Churro included) comfortable using it.All of this said, the highest regards we can truly give is that we have sent countless friends, family and dog-owning strangers directly to Alyssa and Opportunity Barks. Two close-in-age puppies started Day School and Puppy Foundations on our recommendation. Additionally multiple veterinarians at our practice have been so impressed with the farm program, training philosophy and Churro’s ability to “be a dog” despite living in the city. We have learned how to enjoy our lives and be enriched by our puppy with the right tools and techniques instead of feeling held hostage by him and his behavior. There is not a single dog-parent we meet that we don’t sing Opportunity Barks praises to!

OMG we cannot put into words how grateful we are for Opportunity Barks!!!! We rescue all types of animals on our farm. In regard to dogs, we gravitate to large breeds like Rotties who are strays/homeless. We rescued a Mastiff/Rottie as a stray from SPCA. We follow Cesar Milans methods, but this was not helping communicate with Max.....due to his sheer size and unruly behavior he was heading down a path to be a dangerous dog and returned to SPCA....Leigh was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! She reached Max, taught us how to communicate with him....now??? He is the most wonderful kind dog and listens on command a big SHOUT OUT THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HIGHLY recommend OpBarks. Weve now done their dog starter class as well as 1 private session. The starter class is a great start to bonding with your pup, learning how to keep their focus, and other fundamental skills. I feel so comfortable working with their trainers, and they truly care about your pup and how things are going. For our private lesson, Leigh was such a pleasure to work with, and the techniques she taught us have already been helping a ton! Our husky, foxhound mix is super happy, as are we :) She is really well-behaved, loyal, and loves playing with her new lure toy. We cant wait to sign up for more training classes! Opportunity Barks is fantastic! Leigh and all her staff have a wonderful way with dogs. We have taken the Puppy Starter class with Ingrid who is great and we completed B-dog and took the Therapy dog prep class. They help me speak dog. We had such a great time at Opportunity Barks! We signed up for the Puppy Socialization class for $15 on Sunday mornings at the East Falls location. It was our first visit, recommended by a fellow corgi owner, and we were a little nervous to bring our baby Lip along. However, as soon as we arrived, our nerves were put to rest! The facility is very large and clean, and has so many toys and activities for the pups to play with. They have ball pits, agility tubes, ramps and more!! The trainer was amazing as well, so calm and reassured us that our puppy is healthy and behaving normally. I’m so glad we took Lip so he could get the socialization experience he needed to help train and prepare him for when he can finally start walking around outside. All you need is to have started your pup’s vaccines (bring proof of course) and your pup is ready to go! We will be going back every week until our pup finishes all of his shots, and we will be starting behavioral training as well. Thanks Opportunity Barks!!

We love Opportunity Barks! We got a 9 week old Chocolate Labrador puppy who hadnt really been socialized (he had been living in a barn with his litter-mates) and was temperamental and shy around new people and other dogs. For example, he growled at the vet when she was looking at his teeth, and barked pretty sharply at my dad when he met him. We were pretty concerned about this pattern at such a young age, and and a friend who is a vet suggested taking him to a trainer. We met Leigh and she immediately put us at ease. She was great with Tuffy (our puppy), and taught us techniques to calm him down and make him relax. Since meeting her and working with him using the tips she taught us, he is a new, happy, confident puppy. He is now happy to meet anyone new, and is slowly even gaining some self-assurance around other large dogs.Leigh made us feel so much better and more capable as new pet owners. We went back to see her to work on Tuffys normal puppy behavior (like biting my bathrobe and ankles, jumping up, or not coming when called) and she had even more tricks up her sleeve. Working with her makes training fun, as opposed to being a broken record of saying NO! to the dog all the time.We cant wait to go back for puppy classes in a few weeks.

My dog, Ellie, developed separation anxiety a few months after I adopted her. We were following a training plan from a separation anxiety book for months without seeing much improvement. I heard about OpBarks and decided to schedule an evaluation. I met with Audrey, who immediately noticed some of Ellies quirks and provided a structured, realistic training routine. I am convinced she is a dog whisperer. Audrey has a calm, non-judgmental approach that makes her easy to work with. Ellie is extremely stoic, and Audrey was able to teach me how to read her body language so I could tell when she was starting to feel anxious. Although we primarily interacted with Audrey, we also worked with Alyssa and Rebecca who were also great. Using a combination of dayschool, follow-up visits, and emails, Ellie has improved dramatically and I cannot say enough good things about OpBarks! My only regret is not going to them sooner.

I feel so incredibly lucky that weve found Opportunity Barks! We welcomed a new chihuahua puppy into our home recently, which was a decision that our older chi really disagreed with. I sent Leigh a panicked email on a Sunday night because I was concerned about the aggression the adult dog was showing to the puppy -- and Leigh wrote me back, with a personal voice memo, just a few hours later. I couldnt believe that she would not only offer her professional opinion for free, but took the time to give me such a thoughtful response late on a weekend night.Since then, weve worked with Rebecca and Audrey with both of our dogs and theyve been absolutely incredible. After every session, I not only feel like Ive seen improvement in my dog, but like I went to school too! Ive learned so much about to read and understand our dogs body language, and its already helped me to be a better, more conscientious dog owner. The facilities are great, and every person weve worked with has been so calming and welcoming. Ive loved working with OpBarks and am excited to see what our puppy learns when he starts their puppy class next week!

I dont normally rate things on here unless I have a great experience, however, I feel like I need to let other pet parents know before they waste their money. I recently adopted a Doberman with some aggression/ fear issues. After looking around for awhile I came across opportunity barks, they had 5 stars and seemed knowledgeable over email. I told them all my dogs issues and they assured me they could help, but first I had to buy a package. The package consisted of 1 eval which cost $150 and 3 follow on appts that cost $95 each for a grand total of $435. We went to the eval first I told the trainer my issues and she then convinced me to purchase the leash they sell that goes over the nose, for an additional $30 (I didnt have a problem walking my dog prior to going to classes, just when he sees bicycles or motorcycles, which the leash is terrible for). For the entire eval (75min)we worked on walking in circles with no distractions, which my dog is fine with. I had then scheduled my 1st follow up appt thinking what could it hurt, maybe they will teach me something this time. Well I am in the military and was placed on a funeral detail last minute after trying to cancel I was told they had a 48hr cancelation policy, and could not reschedule. So for $275 I got a new leash that my dog hates. These people may be good at puppy classes, however, they should not claim they can work with dogs that have issues. Waste of money.

It is extremely important that I write this review to let the community know about the horrible, ignorant, RACIST, profiling and lack of helpfulness I received from this location. On February 26,2019 I had an appointment in this building when I arrived my gps indicated that Opportinity Barke was my location however I was not in that complex for that business. I knocked on Opportinity Barke door asking for HELP in locating the business but instead of helping me they turned me away with disgust. The young lady that came to the door refuse to open the door to help instead they said “WHAT? WHAT DO YOU WANT?”. This area is a Cosmopolitan area that has a variety of demographics if the staff at Opportinity Barke have fear and a perception of anyone that is non- white you should have a sign that states that you only want to do business with a certain RACE... The experience that I received from this business is completely disrespectful ignorant , belligerent and racist . The climate that we live in today show us proof that the world that we live in remains the same, and it’s more productive to live in unity instead of divided.
