My experience was seamless. The scheduling staff was able to accommodate my academic calendar and be flexible in the scheduling process. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth the first time was diligent, thoughtful, and provided great insight into how to maximize the benefits of my nightguard and prevent cavities when drinking tea. Additionally, the cavity filling was also pain free and extremely effective aside from my initial squirming on the chair. Since I lost my credit card and also did not have the social security number of my father, the front desk staff even offered to call my insurance to verify the dental plan. Philadelphia Dentistry offers personalized service and individualized patient care. I will definitely be making them my regular office when studying in Pennsylvania.

I honestly had such a good experience here. The hygienist was super nice and explained everything going on very well which made me feel very at ease. Then the dentist came and was also really nice and explained a procedure I would need. Overall I had a really good time here. This was my first time scheduling and going to a dentist on my own and the staff here made it really easy and enjoyable. Definitely recommend to students in the area or anyone in general looking for a good place to get dental work.

Five stars for FIRST VISIT! Can’t wait to come back and post another five stars when my dental treatments are done. Each step was completed efficiently and with excellent customer service. The hygienist, (Sara I think) reviewed my concerns and options so thoroughly that the Dr just had to repeat everything she already told me. The Dr was awesome too. Good vibes all around from front desk, to exam, to check out and finally to the dreaded billing w Stephen. I also love that I can have my preventive, restorative and cosmetic all in one place. Not dreading my next dental visit. To be continued…

Philadelphia Dentistry is a wonderful dental health care group. They are about building good communication and relationships with their clientele. They talk with you like you are neighbors, while maintaining professional and good costumer service. The dental care experience from my juvenile years to young adult parenting unfortunately holds vivid traumatic memories. I began to view this experience has a very necessary evil (SORRY) for me and my family’s well being. Good oral hygiene and regular doctor care is as essential to your overall health, if not more so, as regular physical check-ups…really check it out, you’ll be surprised at how your oral health affects your body function.Anyway, I am a new patient at this practice, along with my family, and their approach to dentistry is helping to create a real caregiver/patient connection for us. Everyone involved with our care is accommodating and concerned with our well being. So far, I am very pleased with this dental care group, and looking forward to years of awesome smiles.Thank You!

There are no words to describe how WONDERFUL my experience with Dr. Ridge and his assistant Malikah was. Dr. Ridge has a deep desire to provide the best possible dental care for his patients and he takes the time to explain every procedure that needs to be done. Every individuals I interacted with was professional. My concerns were listened to and addressed. Both Jen, hygienist and Dr Ridge, dentist, discussed the treatment plan in details and gave me confidence that I was getting what I needed not what would generate the most money for the practice (unlike another dentist office in Center City). Finally, I was surprised to hear that the thorough exam and the X-rays were free. Fantastic first impression.

So what can I say about Philadelphia Dentistry?Let’s begin with the basics. Customer service is super important. The receptionist was very professional and kind on the phone with the initial consultation. All of my questions were answered and I was directed to the correct party without delay!Once my appointment was set up, I was given the correct directions to access the building. I’m a Philly native but operating downtown Center City can be hectic at times! The girls made it very easy with directions getting to the location and walked me through step by step to get in. The girls working at the front desk are very fun and professional which is a relief. Normally you think about the dentist and you think creepy lights, old files and old guys with lab coats! NOT HERE! It’s not archaic at all! The very opposite! The entire office is upbeat and welcoming!I was greeted once inside, due to the mask requirement I couldn’t see the very thing that I came in for (teeth) but I’m sure behind the mask were huge smiles! Everyone was attentive when I walked in. Water was accessible which is a plus for me because as a Nurse, I’m most likely dehydrated half the time.Steven in the financial department was super helpful in making recommendations for my unique billing options! Dr.Ridge is amazing and very personable. He made no hesitation with introducing himself, very professional and he knows his stuff! Jen is the absolute best! Each time that I’ve seen her she has been more than average! She’s very fun, very knowledgeable! She literally bought my mouth back to life! She educated me on the difference between tartar and plaque, gave great recommendations about mouth care! She took the time to show me things on Amazon for post office dental care. She gave me great recommendations for the after care to maintain my dental hygiene! We were able to laugh and get work done which made my appointment even easier. She used a great tasting anesthetic, which sounds counterproductive, but it’s true! My gums were inflamed and overall I need a lot of work done but I trust them to guide me in the right direction, with the professionalism, the great atmosphere and the work ethics? Not to forget with the GREAT results thus far? I will definitely make this my dental home and will refer anyone to come here!I’ve had multiple appointments with this office and each time has been more pleasant than the last! I have no complaints with coming here! I will be back soon!

Sara was great at making me feel comfortable, discussing what she saw in her procedures, and coming up with a long-term plan to address what was discussed. I look forward to going back! One downside is parking. I had trouble finding the place and because I was running late to my appointment, I ended up parking in a spot that I was not supposed to. My car was towed….I don’t plan on driving there on my next appointments.Keep in mind, this is the first dentist I visit in Philly, so other than a couple of dentists in Puerto Rico that I used to go when I was younger, I don’t really have any other to compare to, but the fact that I am giving it 5 stars and I had to deal with my car getting towed, should tell you enough about my experience.

Went to Philadelphia Dentistry based on the good reviews and thought it would be a good place to go to now that I live in Center City. My hygienist was very nice and incredibly gentle with the cleaning and x-rays. BUT then the dentist comes in for the exam and with just a little poking around states I need 4 fillings. 2 of them would have been 3 surface and the other 2 would have been 2 surface. I was quoted $1500 for the work. I decided not go ahead and schedule the procedure right then and there because I was suspicious of needing so many filling after never having any problems and the hygienist even stating how clean my teeth are and that the cleaning would just be light. I went back to the dentist that I went to all my life (not in Center City) for a second opinion. They looked at my X-rays and concluded no work needs done. There was one small spot on one tooth that is of no concern at this time and even possible to stop further progression with good hygiene. I hate to make assumptions but this office seems very aggressive - and maybe some people like that - but I dont want work done on my teeth unless it is actually needed and certainly not at a price tag of $1500. I cancelled my 6 month cleaning with Philadelphia Dentistry and will not be going back.

WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULDTHIS OFFICE DELETES NEGATIVE REVIEWSDue to the negative attitudes of financial executive Stephen, I will no longer be visiting this office. I would rather travel to NYC in order to see my prior dentists office where patients are spoken to with respect. I always found it strange that your office has patients be pulled into a separate room with the door closed with Stephen to handle billing which is usually a front desk responsibility but now I understand. This setup is in place so that Stephen can disrespect patients in private and others visiting the office will not observe his unacceptable behavior. When speaking with me regarding my mom calling first thing in the morning to pay over the phone I was told by STEPHEN, Im trying to work with you and have her call at 8am because I am trying to get this over with which was not only disrespectful but completely unacceptable and unprofessional. My family and I will no longer be supporting this office. If you would like to keep patients I would suggest proper bedside manners. I am not going to the bank, I am going to the Dr office, if your financial executive cant treat patients as people you dont deserve their money and most certainly will not gain their trust. I will never make patients feel the way this office made me feel and I will not tolerate such treatment in a healthcare setting. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.Hygienists do not even clean under the gum line of every tooth only your back teeth, barely scrape plaque buildup off, gentle to the point of not properly cleaning your teeth. Plaque buildup was left on my bottom teeth after paying $108 out of pocket for a cleaning since they did NOT communicate that they would bill my insurance after the fact and then send me a reimbursement.HORRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNERSDr Joen was in such a rush when she came in, she barely took time to explain what was going on, told me i had a cavity and need to get it filled then ran out. Horrible bedside manners, she was in such a rush.TERRIBLE OFFICE WITH TERRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNERS. STEPHEN WILL TREAT YOU LIKE YOURE GOING TO THE BANK NOT THE DR OFFICE. HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RESPECTFULLY SPEAK TO PATIENTS. Condescending, rude, unacceptable treatment of patients; poor service and poor dental cleaningsI have never gotten cavities until i started coming here for cleanings; poor manners with Stephen and poor technique. I now have a cavity that I will be going to my old dentist to fill.THIS OFFICE DOES NOT COMMUNICATE THAT IT IS A PAY UP FRONT OFFICE TO PATIENTS AHEAD OF TIME; EXPECT THIS GOING INSTEPHEN WILL TRY TO ENGAGE YOU IN PREDATORY LENDING FOR TREATMENT; EPITOME OF OVERCOMPENSATINGNO INTEREST IN TRULY ACCOMMODATING PATIENTS AND TREATING THEM PROPERLY; GOAL IS TO RUSH YOU IN AND OUT AND PUSH YOU TO OVERPAY FOR PROCEDURES THAT YOU DO NOT NEED

They deleted my previous 1 star review. Short and sweet here is my experience.Dentist reads X-rays; “You have 14 cavities.” (No dramatization or exaggeration). Dumbfounded, I said okay and was escorted to Steven, the billing agent, who without hesitation quoted me 4K+ ($350/tooth) plus a $600 mouth guard they “recommended,” that I never agreed to buy. I said thanks have a nice day.Went to my previous family dentist (2 hours out of center city) for a second opinion. He said I have zero cavities, and that maybe one could be filled but he errs on the side of caution as more damage could be made drilling into a tooth that doesn’t require intervention.I came back another 6 months later for ROUTINE CLEANING (just because location is convenient). Same song and dance with the X-rays. Now angered and impatient I told them another dentist said different. They insisted on taking more X-rays this time and after explaining the second opinion another dentist in the practice said “YOU ONLY HAVE 7 CAVITIES”*how can two professionals in the same practice be in such disagreement. Would they have drilled holes in 14 of my teeth if I let them?DELETE MY REVIEW AGAIN AND I WILL GO PUBLIC WITH MY DOCUMENTS FROM YOUR OFFICE STATING PROOF OF THIS INCIDENT

Heads up -- THE OFFICE DOES NOT REQUIRE STAFF TO BE VACCINATED, and if you ask to be scheduled with vaccinated providers, they will refuse your request.Ive gone to Dr. Cirka for 7 years, and was previously pretty happy with the practice. Unfortunately, their response to COVID concerns is seriously lacking, and I cannot continue to patronize a dental practice that does not seem to believe in and/or respect science.I dont think its insane to ask that only vaccinated folks work on me since theyre literally going to be standing over my open orifices while breathing over my face, but apparently they will not accommodate any such requests. Nor will they agree to have staff wear N95 masks even though these people may be unvaccinated. They will also tell you that they cannot ask employees about their vaccination status. Check the EEOC guidance on that issue -- this is NOT true. Employers absolutely can inquire as to an employees vaccination status though they cannot inquire as to WHY an employee is unvaccinated.I would avoid this practice unless you enjoy playing the Is this person who is standing over my open mouth and nose (while breathing and talking to me) vaccinated?!? game. In which case, enjoy and may the odds be ever in your favor.Otherwise, if you need a new dentist, check out Philadelphia Dental Associates. Theyre good and theyre all vaccinated (confirmed with office).David Tecosky on 25th and Brown Street are also good and theyre all vaccinated (confirmed with office).

This place is a complete money scam and looks like they are good at what they do.I showed up for the teeth whitening promotion that they were running. I had to wait 20 min to be seen. When I got back they took my x-rays and told me that I had 10 cavities and also that I grind my teeth (not true). I then was told that in order to whiten my teeth, they need to complete all these procedures and a deep cleaning first.I was escorted to an arrogant kid working in billing who literally pulled out a calculator from 1990 and proceed to calculate what I owed. $7,000+ was the quote for the work and a mandatory night mouth guard. He tried to pressure me to put down a card for a deposit and a monthly billing plan. I got out of there as soon as I could. Save yourself the trouble! You will undoubtedly be uncharged and fleeced!I assume they probably fake 5 star ratings to drown out the real negative reviews.IF THIS POST IS DELETED, I WILL REPOST MORE REVIEWS ON OTHER SOCIAL SITES.

I dont normally post reviews but feel compelled to in this case since my experience sounds eerily similar to several other 1 star reviews and I think the only way this office is rated so highly is through false reviews. (i) Starting with actual treatment, in 3 different appointments, I was seen by 3 different dentists. Each dentist identified several cavities and recommended aggressive treatment. Im thankful that Im cautious about drilling away my teeth however, because each visit resulted in different sets of cavities identified, and each one invalidated recommendations from the prior visit. One even said that the cavities they recommended filling aggressively on the prior visit were actually just a shadow (glad I didnt drill away parts of my two front teeth to address that!). (ii) When it comes time for payment, they have a high-pressure sales tactic where they take you into a back-office in a highly unusual and uncomfortable way. (iii) They also demand full payment out of pocket up front while your insurance provider processes the claim and sends you a check, which is inconvenient and atypical, especially if you have an HSA. (iv) And today, I took off time from work to show up to an appointment, only to find that they had cancelled it that morning because I didnt confirm via text message. I hadnt received any text messages! Highly inconvenient, but actually a blessing in disguise to force me to find a real dentist rather than these two-bit hucksters.

He thoroughly explained my financing options and answered all my questions. I love the fact that I don’t have to wait long for appointments. I can be seen within a week or two and that multiple appointments can be set at the day of your visit, other offices make you wait until you come back to set the next appointment, which results in longer treatment times. I also was seen quickly and wasn’t sitting in the waiting room forever. Great music in the office as well. I’m very happy I found this office!

First of all I have the biggest fear of going to the dentist let alone having 3 teeth pulled!!! Dr Jeon and the rest of the staff made this the most comfortable experience. From the original consult to the actual procedure I am so happy with their professionalism, kindness and again the overall experience. If you looking for a team that you can trust, go see the team at Philadelphia Dentistry, you will be completely satisfied with their work!!

I have had a Phenomenal Experience with Philadelphia Dentistry and would Highly recommend them! During the initial COVID shut down I had to delay my procedure which left me with some discomfort. Where as most places would not have cared because the situation was out of their control, the team at Philadelphia dentistry (Including My dentist!) actually checked in on me and were genuinely concerned about my well being. When I finally went back to complete my procedure I was met with warm regards, genuine empathy, and compassion from each member of the team. If you want a high quality experience with grade A customer service I would Highly recommend Philadelphia Dentistry.

I would like to echo the sentiments made by Ian Duffy, Kevin Taylor and Adam Martin. Similarly I went to Philadelphia Dentistry based on their glowing reviews. My hygienist Sarah was lovely and efficient. When Dr Mimi Jeon DDS looked at my teeth she claimed I had 4 cavities that needed immediate attention. I was taken into a room by the Coordinator who did everything he could to make me pay $1500 upfront for the treatment and failing that, leave a 50 % deposit. He said insurance would only cover 25%-50%, which I found strange given that the establishment confirmed that they took my insurance. I refused to be coerced into paying for my next treatment as I did not have a good feeling about this dentistry and spoke with the Manager, who is now on maternity leave. She explained that the dentists are NOT in anyones network, which I did not know and apologized for the Coordinators heavy handedness. Long story short, I drove two hours to my original dentist in New York, whom Ive been with for 15 years, she looking into my mouth and said I dont see any cavities. I dont plan to ever go back to Philadelphia Dentistry, there are too many reviews on here where people were advised they needed work when it was false.

Great Experience! Today I walked into the Philadelphia Dentistry Office located at 1601 Walnut St Philadelphia as a new patient. Upon entering the office I was immediately greated with a warm smile and a hello. I was then asked to complete some registration forms on a tablet that took no time at all. I was very impressed with this hospitality. Upon completing the registration forms I met Lisa. It was Lisa that sealed the deal with me within the first 5 minutes of meeting her. Her kindness and transparency with overall concern for me as a patient made me feel comfortable. Lisa treated me as if I was the only patient in the whole entire office. She was very professional and assured me that I was in good hands. After Lisa was done cleaning my teeth the Dr. walked in and introduced herself. Dr. Jeon was equally kind and treated me as if I was her most important patient. Dr. Jeon didnt rush the evaluation and took her time explaining everything I needed to know. I felt like a Star! Hands down this was a 5 plus Star Experience. After the cleaning and the initial checkup it was off to financing. Rich is the Man! First time ever in financing where a person wasnt forceful and was genuinely only concerned about my dental well being. I was giving a some options and the after a few short minutes I was all set. The prices are very inexpensive for the major type of work that I need done and priceless compared to the experience I had. I would suggest this place in a heart beat. Thank you Lisa, Thank you Dr. Jeon, Thank you Rich and Thank you Philadelphia Dentistry as for I look foward to my next visit.

Going to the dentist is not something that people typically enjoy doing. The experiences Ive always had at Philadelphia Dentistry are ones that I personally have enjoyed and look forward to having in the future! There is a certain feeling of comfort and warmth that has welcomed me every time I have walked through the door. I can even feel their smiles through their masks! Ive happily referred many of my friends and family to this office for their dental care and will continue to do so. Thanks for the smiles - the ones that I get from you all and the ones that I give to others :)

So I went here on Friday for an emergency appointment. They got me in within 24 hours and if I hadn’t lived so far from the office it would have been the same day I called. Let me say I am completely petrified of dentist.. like panic attacks and all but they were so understanding and kind to my situation. Dr. Ridge was absolutely amazing, he made me feel so much better being there. He really eased my concerns and fears about the dentist so much so that I actually made an appointment to go and start restoring my smile that I’ve hated my whole life but couldn’t because of my severe phobia. The treatment coordinator, Stephen Ruiz was amazing as well. He helped me setup payment plans and told me all of my options for payments. Without both of them I’d never be able to start the process of fixing my teeth that I’ve wanted for so long. For the 1st in my life I’m actually looking forward to a dentist appointment!!!! Thank you all so much for your kindness and understanding. Everyone was absolutely amazing and welcoming. If you are really afraid of the dentist, as I am, I 100% recommend going here. You will be so happy you did

I’ll start with the good - the cleaning itself was great. But if you’re looking for a professional dental office with a transparent billing system, avoid this place at all costs. They also ask patients for 5 star reviews - more on that later. This business requires patients to pay up front, regardless of your insurance plan. They had my insurance information before my visit, and I asked multiple times if the $104 cleaning was completely covered by insurance (twice on the phone before the visit, and again in the chair before they began the cleaning). I was always stated that yes - I would receive the fee for the cleaning back in full through my insurance. To my surprise, after paying ($104) I was reimbursed $25. When I called to sort out the discrepancy, they blamed my insurance - they just “thought it would be reimbursed for more since XX usually does”. THREE TIMES I asked about this process - they had my insurance information and, rather than follow up with my insurance company to answer my inquiry with certainty, chose instead to lie about what would be covered in order to receive the fee for my cleaning. I’ve never in 30 years paid for a cleaning, and have had this same insurance for years. If having to pay for a usually free service under your insurance isn’t enough, they told me that my next visit for a cleaning would be $347 up front. At this visit, I would have to pay for the exam, X-rays, and cleaning. I asked why the increase, and they stated the exam and X-rays were “mandatory add ons” in the second appointment. On top of this? They stated that I needed 8 sealants, of course, not covered by insurance, at $80 each, which would mean if I went with sealants - my second visit would be over $1000, out of pocket, with what would potentially be another $25 reimbursement (Sealants aren’t covered by insurance in adults, and I have never been recommended them before)In addition? After your visit you meet with a “care consultant,” who tries to schedule your next appointment and pin you down for more money, even asks if you want to put down a deposit on the upcoming dental work. Never before have I been asked by a dental office to put down a deposit on an upcoming visit. It’s also a consultation in a small room with the door closed (thanks, i guess there is no pandemic?)If by now you’re wondering where all these 5 star reviews are coming from - they ask that you give them a 5 star review when you leave, so they can read it aloud the next morning to inspire the team.Bottom line - - the cleaning was fine, but I should have walked out when I saw 8 people sitting behind desks at this place. This is a shady business, not a professional dental office. They’ll say anything to get your money. Patient beware.

I had a wonderful experience at Philly Dentistry. I went to see Dr. Jeon for a cleaning and dental implant and she was kind, gentle and super informative throughout the entire process (which I appreciated so much because I was also pregnant at the time) - thank you Dr. Jeon and Jenaya! The entire team there is very professional, always punctual and overall wonderful, especially with making you feel safe with COVID concerns. My husband and I will definitely be visiting again for our cleanings and any future dental visits. Thanks Philly Dentistry team!

I have not been to a dentist in ten years. As a child the dentist was a terrifying experience and in my young adulthood I didn’t take my oral health or even my health seriously. I finally decided it was time to stop dragging my feet. I had looked at places for over two years but didn’t get a feeling that they would take care of me. I happened to google search ‘cosmetic dentist near me’ and found Philadelphia Dentistry to seem warm and helpful and when I showed up for my visit they didn’t let me down. They didn’t make me feel bad about my oral health or embarrassed at how I’ve treated my teeth. They said they were there to better educate me and fix my teeth all the while holding my hand and comforting me.They are doing just that. (They also offer a way to make payments so you can afford to fix your teeth.) Now I know how to take care of my oral health to avoid having this all happen again and I look forward to being a patient of theirs for as long as I am able. 5 stars hands down and I can’t thank you all enough. Now I can smile with a little more confidence :)

UPDATE - June 2021: I received a call from Philly Dentistry following this review to express their regret over my past experience. I appreciated this call, especially being aware that Dr. Smith is no longer with Philly Dentistry. Staff Customer Service is excellent and I appreciate that. This review would not have made it online if Philly Dentistry had followed up when the issues were occurring and I originally provided feedback to their team.May 2021My experience at Philadelphia Dentistry, specifically with Dr. Stephanie Smith, was so traumatic AND expensive, it took me longer than it should have to return to a dentists office. I had work done that I later had confirmed was unnecessary and didnt sign up for the many months of dental work Dr. Smith tried to swindle me into, but still ended up paying the office several thousand dollars out of pocket. And beyond the gross, unethical practice of pushing unnecessary procedures, I was also left in pain for the better part of a year as a result of Dr. Smiths replacement of a crown that didnt need to be replaced and her unwillingness to listen during the procedure when both I and a hygienist let her know that it wasnt fitting properly. One of the other doctors in the office stepped up to repair the work she did, but the pain continued although to a much lesser extent.WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. The staff is kind, but the people doing the work that will affect your life outside of the office - namely the dentists, at least in my experience, are terrible.

Had an appointment at 3:40 I get there go through the pre screening questions they ask before someone comes to meet you down in the lobby sat there for about 15 minutes no one shows up no where to park so instead of risking a ticket (PPA is treacherous) I left mind you I’ve pretty much got a serious medical condition untreated cavity for about 10 years if you’ve got an emergency look elsewhere
