I didn’t have an appointment. I only stopped in to ask after a pair of frames I saw online. They didn’t have them & with most customer service experiences, the story would end there. But Martin (the gentleman who helped me) asked which glasses they were, suggested the stores he thought might have them, then CALLED the store I wanted to inquire for me. For a casual encounter, it was absolutely above and beyond for absolutely no recognition. Far & away, I have found LensCrafters to have superior service to any place I’ve ever gotten glasses!

I have never left a review anywhere, which tells you how bad my experience was with LensCrafters. At my eye exam, the doctor recommended that I bump up my prescription slightly. He would not finalize the prescription because they did not have my samples in stock. It is unclear whether or not they have ANY samples in stock, as I was told different things on the phone. I left frustrated because I did not want to pay $80 for contact samples, nor did I want to wait and come back 8-10 days later for my prescription to be filled. The doctor was condescending and confusing when I left. When I called later to make sure that they did not bill my insurance (they cant, given that they were never able to provide sample lenses), I was told that there was a misunderstanding and a different doctor would fill and email my script ASAP. The next day, I never received any email, so I called back - I was screamed at over the phone and called a liar by an unbelievably rude woman. She told me that they could not fill my script as I had never had the contact lens exam. The next day, I was thankfully able to get a normal eye exam at Modern Eye. I went back to LensCrafters one more time to ensure that they did not charge my insurance. Only then was it explained that they were not trying to charge me for contacts, but for the contact lens exam, because my insurance did not cover LensCrafters (another thing that was extremely unclear). Even without the frustrating misunderstanding, this place was absolutely horrific to deal with. The vibe is shady, they dont seem to have any samples in stock which means the entire process can take up to 2 weeks, and the staff are shockingly rude and unhelpful. I wish I had listened to the reviews before I went!

I could give 0 stars if i can. the customer service at this store is the worst, i have interacted with two salesperson at this store, and they have been the most unfriendly conversation. Julie at this store didnt listen to what i was trying to ask, but kept cutting me and was extremely rude. I will never buy anything from this store ever againI have also been trying to reach out to their customer care for my query, but1. the store salesperson (Julie) is not ready to listen to what i have to say2. The submit question feature on the website doesnt work3. I tried chat option but not getting any response on chat4. Tried calling, but the automated voice response has no option to speak to a customer service

Martin at the Macy’s LensCrafters in Center City is beyond kind! They welcomed me, successfully multi-tasked with various customers, provided me very helpful information about my insurance plan, and made me feel extremely well taken care of. I’m very thankful to have met Martin and look forward to seeing them again! :)

My experience was great! I went in on April 18. The young man, helped me a lot in choosing the right frames for me. Choosing glasses wasn’t always the easiest thing to do, trying to find the exact right pair. I’m new here in Philadelphia from Charlotte NC.

This store is supposed to be one of the select locations that stay open until 8PM. However I got there at 7pm and absolutely no one was there. I waited until 7:55pm before leaving highly upset and disappointed. THIS IS UNHEARD OF. HOW DO YOU UNOFFICIALLY CLOSE 1HR BEFORE YOUR CLOSING TIME

Absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Whoever the Middle Aged woman is needs to be let go immediately..Was beyond rude from the moment I stepped in (sat on her phone for 2mins before asking “can I help you” I thought she was a customer..)It only got worse from there as I left no more than 3minutes later. The sale was 95% done when I got there. All info was in the system, had the glasses in hand, ready to buy and she couldn’t even be professional enough to finish the remaining 5%...lol Unbelievable

This was without a doubt the worst retail experience I have ever had.I ordered three pairs of glasses- one long distance clear, one short distance for computer work with bifocals for reading, and one long distance sunglasses. The first two were Ray Ban, the third Oakley.Dr. Nguyen was quite competent and friendly, no problem there.Of the three glasses ordered only the long distance Ray Ban was delivered correctly and on time. The close up Ray Bans were made with the bifocal IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LENS. You never saw a pair of glasses with the bifocal in the middle of the lens rather than on the bottom- well neither had I. But apparently this escaped both the Lenscrafter staff as well as whatever lab made the glasses. So that pair had to be reordered. As for the Oakley sunglasses I was told from the outset that they would take a bit longer than the Ray Bans, a few days. Um no- how about 5 WEEKS. At first I was told that they were on back order. Then I was told that they were lost- and at no time did anyone in Lenscrafters offer a solution, it took me to tell them to cancel the Oakleys and do the sunglasses in Ray Ban frames. I was told that this would be done, however in about a week and a half the Oakleys mysteriously appeared so apparently the order was never cancelled and reordered as Ray Ban- I suppose I just got lucky that they did show up at all.At this point delivery of all three glasses was finally complete- after a total of 5 weeks. After the incredible waste of my time I wanted at least a partial refund so I asked to speak to a manager- oh he is out on sick leave. How about a regional manager- oh she just quit. OK what next. Oh its up to corporate to approve a refund. So I contacted them- nope they know nothing about it- its up to the local (nonexistent) manager to decide on a refund. So after about another week it appears that we have a new manager hired. She decides that out of some $1500.00 spent and 6 weeks wasted she would authorize a $49.00 refund. OK fine- but wait we cant do that over the phone because I have to bring in the original paper receipt! So another week is wasted until I can get into the store. Then it took 3 employees, my receipts, my credit card, my drivers license to get the damn refund processed. Really- what century is this place operating in?So from beginning to miraculous end was a 7 week ordeal.Seriously- to Macys who I always thought was a reputable retailer- how can you affiliate your store with this outfit? And Dr. Nguyen- do yourself a favor if you plan to build a successful practice- disassociate yourself from this organization while you still can.On the bright side, the staff was harried but pleasant.Do yourself a big favor- go anywhere for glasses other than here.

Over 3 weeks and I still dont have my glasses. I called several times, I am told someone will call me back and no one does. I just called customer service and they refer me back to the store, which has gotten me no where ! Good luck trying to ask about the 30 day happiness guarantee, no one will follow up! I paid a lot of money and I dont have my glasses!!

If you are looking for glasses go to this store! I cant say enough about my experience here, the staff and GM went out of their way to work with my insurance company to ensure I received my proper benefits. On top of the excellent service their selection was better than all other stores I visited, especially if you are looking for sunglasses.

Will be going somewhere eise for my next check up. My eye exam and glasses claim were put under the wrong insurance plan for me, even though I provided my current insurance card with plan number and provided my employer information. Wish they would have asked me which plan was correct instead of assuming. The back and forth to get this corrected was very annoying.

Buyer beware - if the doctor’s office doesn’t get your prescription right you only have 3 months to go back and get it corrected. Even though the written prescription is good for 2 years after exam date, they will not correct the mistake without having you pay out of pocket for another exam. I will never patronize any LensCrafters again due to this doctor’s office policy. Additionally, I have been wearing contacts for 20+ years and have never had a prescription for which I couldn’t see and was unable to order contacts.

Overall I was so disappointed in my experience here. My first pair of glasses was from lens crafters 20 years ago and I was pretty loyal since then. The staff at this location messed up my order from the start, placing it under another persons name. Then, the glasses I ordered warped, and it took months for the company to respond to my questions about how to return them. The new pair also does not fit correctly, although the sales woman tried to convince me that it did fit- although clearly it was too loose. After all of this, I still cant wear the glasses. With all the much less expensive options out there (with superior customer service), I dont see any reason to return ever again. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else.

Ive been a customer at the Exton, PA location for 8 years. In the past year or so, Ive had several issues with lenses being made improperly, and the scratch guard coating scratching off of lenses even during proper cleaning. The prices have also gone WAY up- more expensive than other places. The final straw for me was my most recent experience. I ordered new lenses for 14-month-old frames. They said the lenses focal point was wrong so they had to reorder them. Two weeks later I pick up my glasses and the left side felt wobbly. I noticed an hour or so later that there was a HUGE crack above the left lens by the nose bridge.I called and was told to come in. The store manager offered to solder the frames. Half an hour later he gave me a horribly twisted pair of glasses with gobs of solder on them! They were so twisted they wouldnt sit on my face. He insisted hed done the best he could and that I broke my glasses so it wasnt their fault. Nevermind that the poor frames had lenses in them about 6 times over the year because they kept screwing up!!!I ended up having to order used frames from eBay to replace them since I just had over $300 lenses cut for those frames.Im done with Lenscrafters. Although many of the workers are nice, the Exton manager is a jerk and the quality control sucks. They dont stand behind their product at all and charge top dollar.
