Highly recommend! Went for the first time based on the great reviews. Well the reviews are right! Had the best hair cut I’ve had in years. Justin cut my hair just the way I asked. He really spent a lot of time to give me the layers I was hoping for and had asked for. He was very friendly and professional. Everyone that worked there were so friendly and nice. I will definitely be back the next time I need a haircut!

Such a great experience! I was in town for a visit and needed a haircut so I took a chance on this salon and I don’t regret it! Justin was so thoughtful in helping me decide on a style, and he paid careful attention to the details so that the layers would sit right even when I’m too lazy to style it like he did. I had a really nice experience at Mockingbird! I highly recommend. My stylist Amber really listened to everything I asked for. She was very precise, and really put in a lot of time and effort into giving me the perfect haircut. I walked away feeling like I looked like a better version of myself which is exactly what I wanted. Will definitely be back. Decor is also super stylish.

Excellent salon and wonderful staff! I recently decided to switch salons and made an appointment with Joanna. I was nervous to try a new spot, especially considering how particular I am about my hair. I am so glad I did! I left my previous Passyunk-area salon, because I always felt like an outsider... I didnt grow up in South Philly, and for some reason, it felt like that was held against me. Anyway, that was not the case at Mockingbird Salon. Joanna welcomed me into the salon, and asked me what I wanted and how I preferred my hair to be styled. The salon is cute, clean and relaxing. I was offered a drink (if I wasnt pregnant, I would have gone for the wine!), and was given a wonderful head massage while my hair was washed. The cut and blow-out were perfect, and the prices are right! I will definitely be a regular going forward with Joanna.

Joanna was excellent. She took her time and gave me an great color consultation. She did a great job with my color, Im a happy customer that will be returning.

I love love love everything about this salon! Its clean, smells amazing, and most importantly all of the staff there are so sweet. Amber cut my hair, and I absolutely adore it. I was really nervous getting 10 inches cut off but she worked with me every step of the way and made sure I was happy with it. This was my first time here but it certainly wont be my last - thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Nichol did an amazing job cutting down my pixie and re-shaping it to a style I like (I had it cut by another stylist in NY a week before). She was also a pleasure to talk to. Thank you for the wonderful cut! I wish I could post a photo.

Just got the chance to post a review. A while back, I needed a haircut, and my scheduled appointment was with Carly. I didnt even know about the Mockingbird Salon. It is a very nice salon. Carly, gave me an excellent haircut. She was so pleasant and cut my hair just the way I wanted it.

I decided to give this place a try after I saw all the good reviews in Yelp. I must say that my personal experience there met the expectations. The front desk person was extremely pleasant from the time I walked in all the way through checking out. My her stylist, Melissa - was very detailed oriented and she did a great job assessing the best ways for me to style my hair. Overall a very good place to get a hair cut. The decor is funky and welcoming - I will be returning for sure.

I am a Mockingbird regular and absolutely love this salon! It took me multiple attempts across Philly to find a match and its safe to say I found the one in Mockingbird. I see Amber regularly for haircuts and balayages/toning sessions and highly recommend her (especially for Asian hair too!). But all the ladies and owner, Heidi, are truly incredible. As another reviewer noted, this salon is definitely Anthropologie if it were a hair salon! Definitely aesthetic goals!

I needed a color correction for an uneven balyage and Joanna totally saved my hair. She talked me through the whole process and was very clear about the time it would take and what to expect and I couldnt be more happy with the result. The rest of the staff were super friendly and the shop was clean and cute. Will be going back for all my salon needs in the future.

I actually went to mockingbird salon on a whim. I needed a color boost and and trim. What I got was an AMAZING cut (not the trim thought I needed) and FABULOUS color (not a little color boost what I thought I needed). Amber was beyond what I ever could have hoped for in a colorist and stylist!!!! She far exceeded my expectations and my expectations are high! All I can say is trust me give Amber a try. Oh and spend the extra money and get the olaplex treatment especially if you get highlights its the BEST product on the market right now and Amber uses it to its fullest potential! Thanks again Amber 👍🏼

Probably the best kept salon secret in philly. walking in you will immediately feel as though youve stumbled onto chestnut and into anthropology. the owner heidi is young and hip and cares about her customers. their service is excellent and the prices are reasonable.
