Deb and her staff are better than superb. I have had my micro braids done at her salon twice and the second time is even better than the first time. What’s more I had no clue in terms of what was involved and Deb and her staff went over and above to get me finished in record time. and they were incredibly gracious about it. Especially since the second time I requested longer braids without taking into account the additional time to finish longer braids!The salon is beautiful, love the rose mural on the ceiling. A good vibe always. Everyone who leaves there, men and women, their hair looks phenomenal. Deb is amazing as she exemplifies how an owner should manage a salon in regards to the level of professionalism quality and cleanliness.I smile now as I write this because everyone was so incredibly gracious. they were so tactful as i kept asking if I would be out by a certain time.But, with that said, they are worth the time. Deb’s attention to detail to make sure that they look absolutely beautiful makes me feel absolutely beautiful. I get a sense that everyone cares about their clients and that means a lot. I think you could select any professional there and know that you would come away looking beautiful.

I arrived for my appointment on time. I still had to wait and get my hair washed by someone that I didnt book with. She half-heartedly washed my hair a couple of times, not caring about doing a thorough job. It was obvious that she had somewhere more important to be. I was there for over 3 hours for a simple press & curl. My time wasnt respected at all. I spent more time sitting and waiting than getting my hair done.

I had a great experience at this salon on my first visit. Cherise was friendly and knowledgeable and asked questions about the health of my hair. Looking forward to my next appointment. The salon is also clean comfortable.

I was visiting Philly for work and was looking for a stylist to wash/silk press. I found them by looking for hair shops that cater to black ppl, with good reviews, and were near my hotel. I called them morning of and was able to sched that afternoon with Erika. Very professional, clean, and seamless experience. No waiting. Would recommend and come back if I visit again.

I received the best shampoo, haircut and style. My stylist did a great job of asking question and cutting my hair the way I wanted it. She took her time styling which shows the pride she taken in her work. I would recommend this place to anyone.

If they cant its rare and they dont shrug it off. I only wish the parking was better and it was closer to me but for the growth and healthiness of my hair its worth getting my hair done by Ericka.

I am extremely upset. I was looking for a great natural hair salon and after seeing them top rated in Philly magazine, I wanted to give them a try. After using their automated system and getting multiple confirmations that my appointment was scheduled and confirmed, I drove all the way from NJ having to pay both for toll and parking in Philly to having to stand outside in the rain for 20+ minutes waiting for someone to never show up. I received no call saying that they would be late, simply no one showed up. I will never patronize this place.

Last minute visit because we’re going out of town tomorrow and I wanted to look as nice as my husband and his fresh cut lol. Scheduled online today and went this evening after work. Great vibe with friendly staff and customers. Getting your hair done at a new place always makes you nervous but Ericka was awesome. She took the time to talk to me about what I was looking to have done and I left looking and feeling great. 👍🏽

Had a great experience before getting my hair done with the nail services offered. I decided to book an appointment (caramel treatment and press and curl). The salon was extremely busy that day my wait was pretty long. However, my style was prefect and has lasted me almost 4 weeks. Usually my press only last a week. Great experience here!

Deb (the owner) cut my hair and it turn out incredible. The service was fast and thorough. Traditional hair salon atmosphere. I cam in town for the weekend and they really help me in a bind.

The staff and atmosphere was so good from the time you step in the door. I loved my hair and live their products. It was not a long wait and we exoected it to be. They move in rhythm and get you beautified quickly. Love them. I believe theyll be changing locations soon so stay posted so you can find them. Well worth it.

I really respect this salon. The conversation is always mature. I always leave feeling a little more evolved. I have consistently been styled by Cherrise and her work ethic is commendable. She doesnt do my hair with out catering to and understanding whats going on with my hair. I came to Cherrise with damaged hair and she help nurture and grow my length.I often take risks with my hair because I know I have someone that can help me care for it regardless of what state my hair is inIn addition to her hair care I think its important to be careful whom is over your head and I am able to sit comfortably in Cherrises chair receiving her wisdom and trusting that my hair is in good hands.

Its a beautiful salon with wonderful staff. The price of a curly perm is reasonable and the service is outstanding. I wish they did facials and manicures, but they dont have the space.

I starting going to the shop March 2019...I sat in Erikkas chair with damaged natural hair. After 20 mins of crying...she was just the stylist to get me back together. A year later...I am in the shop every week for some sisterly love and advise as well as a bangin hair style. My hair has never been this healthy.

Been going here 20 years. Cant get quality service everywhere.... But always leave out this shop happy and satisfied. Always good quality service.

I never am dissatisfied enough to write a review but this was a really bad experience. This salon is right next door to my apartment so I thought I would pop in for a quick trim and be out in 30 minutes. Im shocked at the service. I was asked to go to the back and have a seat and someone would shampoo me. I sat down at 6:30 and waited here while employees were all around cleaning, organizing, talking, etc. No one even acknowledged me or told me how much longer I would have to wait. I finally got up and walked out at 7. Thirty minutes of not one employee providing me with an update. Normally I would give a salon the benefit of the doubt if they were super busy or something like that but every single shampoo chair was open while I was waiting all that time. The weirdest part was that they actually called me after I left to ask where I went? I wouldnt have thought they cared being that no one spoke to me in the salon and explained why every chair was open but I was still waiting for 30 minutes. Not worth it at all in my opinion, go somewhere else.

For the most part they are decent. But as someone with 4c hair I did not think they really new how to deal with my very tight hair texture. My biggest concern was the excess amount of heat that was put on my hair. 2 days later from getting my hair done and I am experiencing a lot of breakage.

Simply Beautiful... The owner did my braids!!! The place was warm and welcoming. Very professional. I did not have to wait at all. The shampoo girl was amazing and the girl that assisted with my braids was amazing and nice as well.... The Best Braiding Place In The City. Location was great too.. I was able to walk to and from center city with ease. I was nervous 😟 about how I would like the braids, but it all worked out for my good, lol....🙏🏾Thanks again Debbie for the wonderful experience.... ~ brandyUpdate: braids lasted all summer. My hair was braided on July 5. I took the braids out 9/14/18. I was was still getting compliments up until that date ~~. I worked out, went swimming, stayed in the eucalyptus steam room, went to weddings, parties, etc.. hair still looking good. I will be making another appt. in October. Also, health of my hair is very good too...

It was my first time here, as Im new to the area. I carefully selected Admirations, after a quick search. Im very glad that I did! They took excellent care of my 6 year olds thick and curly, natural hair. EVERYONE was cordial and professional. They were busy. But, thats a good sign. They had a great flow and organization. Annnnd, they had an awesome spread of snacks, and beverages. Shrimp cocktail, anyone? I was so pleasantly pleased as this is the norm, in the salons I patronize in NY. Id recommend them to anyone!! Im sure theyre great at weaves and extensions. But, their other customers all had healthy, natural hair, like my baby girl. So thats a GOOD SIGN. Ill be back!

Such an amazing place! I go here every other week and if you need a prom do or wedding do, this place is great. I leave Admirations looking and feeling beautiful. Never had a bad experience and the staff is outgoing and sweet. I always reserve my appontments with the owner, she works wonders. They are changing locations, so keep updated because I will definetly be following wherever they go. Will be coming back for as long as they are in business.

First stylist botched and rushed my hairdo.I only give 3 Stars because of the manager in front...I came back next day and she hooked me up...But, at another cost.....So, for one short style hairdo, I ended up paying almost double what I wanted to pay...No good but still happy with managers work.Wish she would have been more proactive to start with....

Ill start by saying I know absolutely nothing about hair care so when I first came to admirations, my hair was a mess. My hair was dry, falling out in spots, and just bad. With my stylist, my hair has grown so much in just the year and half I have been coming. Its soft and healthy and so much easier to manage. They explain everything to me in way that doesnt make me feel stupid. The prices are fair and Im always happy with my hair. I use to hate my hair and always wore wigs to hide. Now I love my hair and only have one wig that wear when I want to try something different.

I Love my stylist and her boss and will follow them where ever they go!!!! If youre looking for hair care here is where you wanna be!!!! So were going out with the old and into a new blessing!!!! Cherrise, Debbie, Deanna, and Erica congrats on your new beginnings!!!!! Change is good

My stylist was Debbie, Over all the hair cut is cute and the ending result of the cut/style is professional and clean cut. Everyone in the shop was kind,The style of the shop is chic and vibrant with color. Debbie didnt arrive to the studio until 45 minutes after my appointment time however I was updated about her arrival from the staff.Time management is key and should be taken at a top priority especially when clients are in a time crunch (for work) I arrived at the studio at 10:08am from driving from Delaware. I didnt get my hair cut and styled until after 11:30 and I didnt get out the studio until 12:30 which at that point was late for work being so I had to drive an hour back. I made an appointment a week in advance I was told 10am was my appointment time,when it was actually 10:30am. So miscommunication is not helpful after traveling such a long way. Im not one to write reviews on places but after reading raving reviews and travilng for such a long way and paying for parking this experience at this salon was not appreciated.

Debbie raised the bar on what I thought was a good sew-in. The service ended up taking longer than I planned (not a bad thing, I just never had a stylist give so much attention to detail) and I had to leave without precise styling, but I plan to coming back for maintenance and a trim.

This place has really changed in the last 5 years. From the interior renovations to the stylists! My first time coming I got a caramel treatment from Kamisha. It was money well spent. After moving away and coming back to the city, I returned to this salon. Not sure if I will be back. My stylist was so new i dont believe she had a lot of practice with thin, fine, and short natural hair. But everybody deserves a chance... just not on my head! Lol

Usually I am hesitant to write bad reviews because I did use to work in customer service for many many years, but this was a time, where I had to. I came in at approximately 11:45am for my noon appointment with Keisha (she was a referral from a friend of mine and this was my second time going to her). I came in and checked in and was told to head to the back. I headed to the back and waited. 15 minutes passed, 20 minutes passed, 30 minutes passed and none of the assistants, shampoo girls etc. said anything to me, acknowledged me or let me know how much longer until they would start working on my hair. During the 30 minute mark, I did notice that people who came after me were being serviced. That was when I started looking for another salon to do my hair. It was literally 45 minutes before one of the assistants came to let me know that someone would start washing my hair shortly. Really? 45 minutes? By that time, I had thankfully found a salon that could fit me in and I left to get my hair done. I definitely will not be heading back (though its close to my university) or recommending anyone that I know go there. There is nothing special about this salon that would make me wait 45 minutes before someone would even acknowledge me, much less even start working on my hair. Its really just your average black salon with average styling and subpar customer service. There are many other salons in the city with better customer service and better styling, though you may have to travel further.Overall: Very unorganized salon that needs better business practices from top (manager, Keisha, etc.) to bottom (assistants).Its very easy to own a business, running a successful business however, is a whole other story.

My experience at Admirations has been nothing short of wonderful!I have been coming to Admirations for over 15 years..initially getting my services with one stylist, Kia Hughes, who was an amazing person. I followed Kia from another salon because she was awesome. Unfortunately,Kia passed away in 2008. Unlike other people who may have decided to go elsewhere and seek another stylist, I wasnt because I knew that Admirations had a great staff of people who are professional, talented and caring...Cherrise, without downplaying her skills was like Kias protégé and she stepped right in and claimed me as her client and friend over the years. I received so any compliments on my hair from my boss; after much time and convincing, she too has become part of the Admirations family.My boss planned a wedding shower for me last year and invited all of the Admirations staff...it warmed my heart that they came to the shower!Both Cherrise and Debbie (owner of Admirations owner) attended my wedding last year in Mexico and helped me to prepare for the big day and we had a great time in Mexico!Debbie is an inspiration to all women who aspire to be successful not only in business but in life. She is a God fearing woman, she is humble and she has a lot of compassion for others.Upon my most recent visit to Admirations, I walked in to hear some very disturbing news.Admirations HAS TO RELOCATE!!!The lease at Admirations is not being renewed. Debbie was given this notice via text...WHO does that?!! After 18 years of being a very loyal and responsible tenant, she was not given the professional courtesy that she deserves and is entitled to...All of her longtime clients and friends will definitely follow her to her new location but we are angry at the blatant disrespect towards Debbie.

Everyone is friendly and professional, the wait is never long and the service is great. I would definitely recommend this salon to others 🤗
