Great place!! I wanted to get my hair dyed back to my natural roots and was worried it’d be difficult for them to match my red. But they nailed it. They started a little darker than what I wanted but it lightened up just like they said it would and after a day or two it was perfect. My hair still feels healthy and I am so glad I didn’t go for a box dye.It’s been a while and I’m bad with names but I believe it was Katie who did my hair. She did an awesome job! I get complimented practically every day.

Staff is friendly! My student stylist, Lupe, listened to what I wanted done with my hair and consulted with her teacher throughout the haircut. Im very happy with it!

I have been coming to Kor for 4 years to get my hair colored and highlighted. Monica did my hair the last time and did a fantastic job. Ms. B., one of the instructors, is wonderful! My experience has always been positive and my hair always looks great!!!

Ms. D was supervising on the day I went for my Groupon deal for shampoo, scalp massage, cut and deep conditioning. Student Julia was very gentle and patient removing tangles rather than just pulling comb through wet hair which I generally have to remind even the pros at salons not to do, and the resulting cut was just what I was hoping for. I think a timer should be used for the scalp massage and it should be specified when you are getting it or it may just be part of a regular shampoo and rinse since thats sorta massagey but not like a true scalp massage you get at a spa, so that should be clarified. Careful trimming and I appreciated being consulted every now and then re: length. Interesting to hear Ms. D instructing on how to cut a section and then use it as a guide for the other cuts. Its nice to go somewhere and get full attention rather than so many places today where the stylists are on the phone or trying to juggle all their clients and going from one to the other or constantly talking to their co-workers so that you feel you are an afterthought and not the reason they are in business. The location is convenient, next door to a pleasant Japanese restaurant and lovely gemstone shop, and behind a strip mall with lots of stores. It would be handy if some style posters would be placed around to give clients some ideas of the latest and most popular cuts for various lengths of hair, color ideas, suggestions for styles for different shaped faces, etc. Maybe a student project could revolve around setting one up? It would be a good resource for the students and while clients are waiting, theyd have something to think about. Good ice breaker with the student/client too....Success to your chosen career Julia--your skills and sweetness will be a delight to your clients. Ms. D: So glad you have elected to share your skills via teaching!

I have gone here twice and loved it! I walked in after my new pool chemicals turning my hair green and Ashley completely fixed it no issue at all! She knows exactly what she is taking about and how to do what you ask for. If you go ask for Ashley you wont regret it!!!!

My mom use to go here and get her hair done and I always asked her where she went because it always came out so pretty! She told me Kor. So since I was seeing grays coming in everywhere I decided to try it myself I really do enjoy the instructors they are very friendly and always step in to help and teach if need be while I am getting my hair done. I don’t like to do too much just simple full high lights and cut shampoo blow dry. That covers the grays haha. I loved how my hair came out yesterday the only downfall is the toner missed a few strands and I have two colors going on. So I may have to go back in and ask for another toner in the spots that got missed no biggie. I have a LOTT of hair thick and long so it takes FOREVER to get it done and it’s easy to miss spots, they are always very patient with me and make sure to make my hair look good. Even though I had extra foils and paid for my Groupon I was only charged for the toner which was super kind of them to do that for me. I have been going here for awhile now and I really enjoy it. I had Bridget do my hair once and I hope to have her work on my hair again and I also liked Nichole she also is very good as well. I know they are students and they make mistakes and that’s understandable the instructors really work with you to fix any issues and are very understanding about it as well. I do recommend Kor Beauty and if you do go here keep an open mind don’t expect everything to be perfect and if it’s not speak up ask to have the instructor check it over just in case you feel uneasy about it. I love how my hair turns out every time I go and I always get compliments on my new hair.

Terrible place with terrible service. The students try their hardest, but the instructors are pathetic. The instructor lady who supervised my hair was so rude, didnt take the time to listen to my requests, and had such a terrible attitude. They did a terrible job, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money, time, and energy and go ANYWHERE else.

Kor Beauty Academy is hands down the best school I’ve ever attended! I graduated in 2018, and Mrs Tammy really invested her time into us students, and made the atmosphere positive and a place to grow not just as cosmetologist but as people. I really love that place, thank you for my growth!

Not a good experience-horrible orange brassy uneven highlights, and horrible chopped haircut. This place was dirty and they couldnt get warm water to wash your hair, only cold. Ive been to other schools in AZ and they did an amazing job. Sadly this place was a huge disappointment. When the instructor saw it after she said well thay are students no coaching or teaching or mentoring for the student to even learn from what she had done. I have to go get my highlights fixed...already had to have someone fix the cut!

I would definitely recommend KOR to anybody that is understanding and knows that they are students and they are learning so don’t be so hard on them if they make a mistake but I’m glad to say there was no mistakes done on my hair there’s an instructor right there to help them the whole time. My hair came out so much better than I expected. Tammi was the best she was so sweet and she helped get me hooked up. Definitely recommend KOR.

I made an appointment because of an recent haircut from another facility. When I arrived everyone was really professional. My hair stylist Alexandria was so awesome. She listened to every word I said, and did what I asked of her. I walked out of the facility with a great cut and color. I will definitely go back.

I had an appointment with Lela for highlights and low lights and a haircut, as I sat in her chair she was very argumentative about my hair and how she would not be able to , first of all cut it because it had long layers , my hair is medium length , I wanted it cut to my shoulders,straight across no brainer. Also she said she was not able to highlight my hair which was a light medium blonde and lowlights were to be a medium mushroom brown . she’s been there 2yrs and I felt like she should have known professionally what to do , she was very unprofessional and walked away and the instructor stated Lela didn’t want to do complete my hair after she already added 1 foil. She walked , while the head instructor approached me after 5 min to tell me , Lela was upset and was leaving . I was shocked to say the least , especially since I had already purchased a Groupon and it took me almost an hour for this appointment. She said there was nothing they could do I could get a refund from Groupon, very unprofessional I would definitely not recommend this place I felt she had no respect instead of explaining to me , she wanted to be argumentative.

If I could I would give this school a 0 review They were very rude to me and disrespectful to my family at first when you sign up there all sweet and kind but their teachers and the owner was making fun of me and my family behind my back telling me in person I should just drop out Im worthless in the end they still charged me for all the money but would not take the time to teach me because they did not like me I showed up every day and the teacher would just a ignore me and say mean comments to me. I cried every day after school when I went there.. I reported that multiple times and the owner would do nothing so please if youre considering going to here do not go to any other school but this one I do not want this to happen to anybody else.

Not only did they sacrifice their time, but they gave 100% - focusing on pampering the teen girls (dealing with hardships) the whole morning! From doing their hair, to doing their nails and toes, they did a really good job (professional quality)! I could not tell they are students still learning. I know they will not forget the positive experience they had while they were there. You certainly made them feel like a princess that day and I am sure it helped boost their confidence starting off a new school year. I got gel nails done, the price seemed pretty good. When I walked in I couldn’t figure out where to check in because the desk was in the back. Then once it was time to get my nails done there wasn’t a very wide selection, they had a sample for the color I wanted but didn’t have the color, that was very disappointing. The girl who did my nails did a good job for her experience, I think the gel nail polish she had used may have been bad because it started peeling less that 10 hours later. Wasn’t the worst but wasn’t the best either.

I love Kor Beauty Academy!!! Their work is just as good, even better than any professional hair salon!! They are amazing!! For what you pay for, its such a great deal, a steal!! Dawn is great!!! Good to know if you go to them from Groupon, they will not provide you with quality work. The owners response to the horrible cut and highlight review from below is shameful. No remorse. Apparently they don’t care about their customers. I am glad I came to look at reviews before going to them. Looks like my search for a good salon is still ongoing.

Alison was just awesome! It was my first time in, and I came in with a really terrible haircut. In addition, I didnt know if I wanted some color or some highlights. She looked at my hair and gave me her advice based on my hair type and some gray color. I was able to pick out a lovely swatch & she went to work! The coloring was the best that Ive ever had, and the cut was so very cute! She really listened to the reason that I wanted to look extra special and repaired the damage done by the previous cut! If you ever need ANY hair styling/coloring of any kind, she is the lady to see. (She also has the most gorgeous orange hair that you will ever see!)

Alison was Amazing!!! I went in just for a pedicure which was just fabulous, I asked if I could make a an appointment for next week to get my haircut. Her instructor said Oh she has time. Normally they dont take hair appointments after 2PM and it was 3PM so this was unexpected and wonderful. Alison listened to what I wanted and was very easy to talk to. I will definitely be going back to her for my next trim /color/facial whatever.

Cassidy was the best. I love my highlights and the trim. I was thinking about cutting my hair shorter, she convinced me that all I needed was a trim to showcase the beautiful highlights. She and I also learned how to use a diffuser to show off my waves!! Highly recommend. Show them a GROUPON or LIVING SOCIAL coupon and they will honor the price without pre purchasing.

Yesterday I had my hair done by Shallen, this was the 1st time going to a beauty school to get my hair done and I was very nervous because I am getting married in 9 days. I must say that Shallen did an amazing job I absolutely love my hair, it’s exactly what I wanted and probably the best experience I’ve ever had getting my hair cut and colored... she did a balayage and it came out perfect! We had the pleasure of meeting many other girls and the owner as well everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was great! I loved getting to know her and she was so talented! Right away, she asked if I wanted to color my hair before installing the extensions. I hadnt even thought of that! (I was planning on dying it myself later on!) But she was absolutely right, dying prior to install was the way to go. After consulting with her instructor, Tammy, (who was also AHHmazing and extremely knowledgeable) - Lela completed a fantastic color job. She was thorough and made sure the color was even and Beautiful!After the color was completed she began working on the extensions. Omg. There were so many. With the assistance and expertise of the lovely, Riley- these two ladies made my hair everything I dreamed of!!!!!I am beyond satisfied with my appointment and HIGHLY recommend Kor Beauty Academy if you lovvee hair extensions but dont want to pay the ridiculous prices that other salons charge. The only problem is they keep graduating! 😁 But, when they do I always get a recommendation for a new, talented, soon-to-be star.That was the case yesterday when I saw Shallen for the first time. Shes a confident, intelligent young women who is peppy and fun.I had waited too long to get my highlights done. My hair was drab, unstyled, and definitely in need of attention.Shallen worked her magic. Her teacher checked her periodically as she worked, making sure everything was fine.THATS how my hair turned out. FINE. It was back to its shiny, styled self. I was very happy with the results; great cut and highlight. AND very affordable. I will definitely go again, and definitely make an appointment with Shallen.

I came to Kor with literally a mess. Half my hair was a teal color and I wasnt very sure how to fix it since I was on a buget and my other hair stylist cost a fortune. So I called up and asked for a color correction and the 2 women that helped me were amazing! They were super sociable (its chill when they keep a conversation rather than awkward silence) and they made sure I was in the loop with what they were doing. They told me I had to come a second time so that the second session they would put the true color in. So I went in today and Rikki helped color the rest of my hair. At first I was terrified because the color was a lot more purple than I had planned for. But after she dryed and styled it I fell in love with it! They are all super supportive and welcoming. Im gonna start going here more to get my hair done 😊

I went in with two hair colors at opposite ends of the spectrum that I couldn’t decide between. The student, Ashley, and her instructor really listened to what I had to say. I ended up totally changing my look and am in love with my hair!!!! It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I had a Groupon but I can guarantee that I will be going back each time I need a service Groupon or no Groupon!!! Give KOR a try and you won’t be disappointed 😊

Went for a schedule appt and was refused service because I had my newborn son with me and was told by Tammy that I couldnt get my hair done because kids scream and make noise and disturb them. First time I am ever writing a review for anything but my experience there was so terrible I had no choice went in to get low lights and highlights was told what color and then told no but the girl told me what color she would choose for me then they said they couldnt do my hair at all it had a lot of breakage but tried to anyway color came out horrible at the end I got up left and went to another school and got my hair done just the way I wanted with the color I wanted with out adding any brackage at all stay away I wish I would have never went there while I was there I seen a lady walking in that works there with a bunch of Sallys products the school I got my hair fixed at used all professional products dont waste your money there because there are way better schools you can go to.

(RIPOFF) I attended this school 2017 and later found out the school was taking out student loans without my permission after confronted the director who is the owner who is the teacher as well and at that time was the Financial aid advisor couldn’t tell me why it happened and threaten to call the police and tried to revoke all of my hours I showed up for by lying . After withdrawal and filing a complaint with the broad of Cosmetology I was granted all my hours (Gratefully)This school is a rip off money hunger disloyal establishment I dont recommend anyone attend here the owner cant be trusted
