I absolutely love this dentist (Dr. H) and his staff. They are always kind, professional and provide seamless and flawless service. I came in contact with this dentist when I had a dental emergency in 2019, not only did they allow me to come in that day, they fixed the issue and it has not been a problem at ALL since then (my previous dentist who did the initial work, tried to correct their mistake three different times). My husband, who started his journey with them last year also loves the service provided! Going to the Lakeshore Dental Family is like visiting your extended family! Love and appreciate them!

Fantastic and family friendly. Everyone and I mean everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. From the front desk all the way to the back. They treat you kindly. They always speak in a happy and positive manner. My children are always comfortable and they let them put sealants on and get X-rays and my children aren’t fond of anything dentist related, lol. I also get seen here. Their new location is very roomy and perfectly located. No complaints ever.I intend to keep them as my family dentist for many years to come.

This was the most pleasant, efficient, and comfortable dental appointment I have ever had in my entire life. If you have dental anxiety this is the dentist for you. Every interaction I had with staff was wonderful and it put me at ease for the duration of my visit.

2 stars for the front desk staff and dental techs only!!! Dr. Hong does poor quality filings (4 of mine have fallen out or debonded in 2 years), is very rough when working inside the mouth, and rushes through procedures. The final straw was when he didnt adjust the bite correctly for one filling and I ended up with a cracked tooth 2 days after receiving the filling. When I came in for a post op evaluation for pain, he completely missed the crack, and rushed me out the door, told me to come back in 3 weeks if it was still bothering me. I made a same day appointment to see a new dentist and he found the crack right away, as well as another poorly done filling that was coming loose. Very disappointed with the quality of work received and will not be returning to this practice.

I had a great experience here as a first-timer! I live about 7 minutes away from here and was looking for a new dentist closer to home (and because my previous dentist didn’t accept my insurance anymore). I was greeted by a gentleman named John who was very professional and he gave me a quick tour and then led me to a room where I signed a couple documents and provided him my ID and medical card to sign and as soon as I walked in that room I saw this cute welcome gift sitting there for me (a sturdy tote bag with a card)!I’ve never felt that special visiting a dental office. John also mentioned that they do crown impressions in-house all in the same appointment! I’m used to having a crown impression mold done and then coming back in a couple weeks to get it placed on. And those temporary crowns are not easy to get used to. So although I’m hoping I’ll never have another crown needed, I like this idea!All of the staff were so friendly and explained everything thoroughly to you. They also have TVs to watch that come overhead during your procedures and cleanings. They also discuss pricing with you before they go ahead and do it. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had stuff done and go to check out with a bill larger than I’m expecting.I had Dr. Limsam and needed a small filling put in. He ended up having some free time, so I was able to get that done all in one appointment as well. It was quick and painless and I couldn’t be happier with my choice to pick Lake Shore Family Dental as my new dentist.

Just switched dentists and had my first visit yesterday. Everyone was very professional and friendly. Probably the most thorough exam and cleaning Ive EVER had! I have already referred two people to their office!

To say I am petrified of the Dentist is an understatement! I was traumatized by a Dentist when I was only 7 years old. You never forget that feeling of being held down in a dental chair as a small child while the Dentist sticks needles in your gums and gives you fillings that were never needed. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT MY FAMILY AND I FOUND DR. LAM AND THE TEAM AT LAKE SHORE FAMILY DENTAL! The rest of my family, including a 14 year old, a 60 year old, and two 90 year olds, all have been going to Dr. Lam for over 3 years. They all LOVE DR. LAM AND HIS STAFF! I just started going to Dr. Lam due to being so petrified! My first appointment was for a cleaning and exam. Kristine, the Hygienist, was thorough and caring. Dr. Lam came in and completed his exam. Normally I would be on the verge of an anxiety attack however, Dr. Lam and Kristine made me feel calm and explained everything that needed to be done on my next few visits. I am nervous but Dr. Lam does Sedation Dentistry for those of us who are petrified of the Dentist. After seeing the EXCELLENT DENTAL CARE THE REST OF MY FAMILY HAS RECEIVED with Dr. Lam AND AFTER MY FIRST APPOINTMENT I TRUST HIM AND ALTHOUGH I AM NERVOUS I KNOW HE WILL TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY DENTAL HEALTH AND GIVE ME BACK THE SMILE I TRULY MISS! Needed a dentist on an emergency issue with mouth pain. Dr. Lam took me in right away. Told me that I needed a root canal. He prescribed antibiotics and set me up with an appointment.Went and had the procedure with zero pain and discomfort. What an amazing Dr. and staff. The facility is a state of the art and very clean.I am now in zero pain and feel great.Went back for a cleaning and x-rays since now this is my dentist. They explained all cost before the cleaning and x-rays. Never had a cleaning like this before. There was no rushing me through the work and were always asking if there was any discomfort which there was none. I had my first experience at Lake Shore Family Dental yesterday. The staff were very kind and knowledgeable. They answered all questions I had and reassured me of expenses before proceeding with any procedure. Very clean office and super nice doctors.

I was welcomed by everyone at the front desk, and every step of my check in process was flawless. I got a tour of the facility, and Erin was fantastic with everything. All my questions were answered before I even had a chance to ask them, and I would 100% recommend that anyone come here for their dental needs.

We were first time patients this week at Lake Shore Dental and from beginning to end, this whole operation is run like a very well oiled machine! I was incredibly impressed. My husband has severe anxiety when it comes to dental work, after having awful experiences in his earlier years... so I searched for a sedation dentistry practice and this practice had excellent reviews so I called. After explaining all about my husband they were incredibly understanding and professional so I booked the appointment for the following week. He barely slept the night before with anxiety...When he came home he was RAVING about how awesome it was! They take you for a tour of the facility before your appointment. They explained everything clearly and without rushing him. He was thrilled! I cannot tell you how happy that made me!My daughter and I went a few days later for ours and we had the very same experience! From beginning to end it was quick and easy and they made my 8 year old daughter feel so special with a little gift bag and they gave us a little gift bag for joining as well. John and Nichole in the front are amazing at helping out with getting you settled while Melanie and dr. Lam were the ones we saw for the cleanings. They were so attentive and patient! I cannot say enough about this practice! Just give them a call, you’ll be very happy!!! We are!

Doctor Hong is not only extremely rude to his employees but also his patients. He constantly yells at his employees to the point he makes them cry. He may have a “nice” office but that doesn’t not excuse his behavior.

I absolutely LOVE LS Family Dental. Im 30 and have been going here for as long as I can remember (Mom brought me as a kid). I moved up to Essex, but will still hike down to Pasadena for cleanings and anything dental I need. Dr. Lam is the absolute BOMB, literally the most fun, down-to-earth and knowledgeable dentist. It doesnt even feel like Im seeing my dentist when I go it feels like Im seeing a long-time friend. The hygienists and front desk staff are all absolutely wonderful as well. You know youre getting the most honest and best work done here and I cannot rave enough about them!

I just completed the zoom whitening and was able to achieve 6 shades lighter! Everyone made it easy and comfortable. I did get a few zingers but was ready for them because everything was explained up front. Highly recommend the Zoom procedure to anyone who’s looking to brighten their smile.

I am very pleased with this facility. Yes, technically, they have great equipment, new places, no waiting time and treatments - these things you can expect from any other offices as well. But MOST SHOCKING thing I was not expected that they actually show you of lists of cost and treatment as well as your payment to your insurance payments. I heard some of hospital does this payment information open to patients in CA but never heard of Maryland!! shocking! This act is truly respecting our healthcare system between payer and receiver no hidden cost or unexpected from our pocket. I demand ALL HEALTH CARE OFFICE SHOULD FOLLOW THIS EXAMPLE.

I’ve always been very impressed with the hygienists at this office. You know how they floss your teeth for you as part of the cleaning that they do? I’ve never had a hygienist who was as careful and gentle as the ones at this office. When they measure your gums and do the other things as well, they have always been super gentle. Going to the dentist has always been very uncomfortable for me, but I can honestly say that I have never had an unpleasant experience at this office and it’s completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist.

I am editing my Google review from 10 months back, as I have had a new, completely different experience with Lake Shore Family Dental today.My fiance worked for Lake Shore Family Dental for about 1 year, which is why I began going there. About a month or so ago, she decided to go her separate way due to the stress, anxiety and belittlement she was experiencing by ownership. I certainly supported her decision, but decided I would continue to use the dental services, with her blessing, as my dental service should not have anything to do with her experience.Today I was informed that my future appointments, and my relationship with Lake Shore Family Dental, would be cancelled due to my fiances reasons for leaving the company. This is completely unprofessional and a complete insult.Furthermore, I was initially scheduled for an appointment today, which I had to postpone due to my work schedule, and my call to reschedule was met with gracious acceptance, and rescheduling with the front house staff. About 3-4 hours later, I received another call from the front house staff informing me that Dr. Hong, the owner, was cancelling all future appointments due to this conflict of interest. Not only is this a complete disrespect to my character, but if I had actually shown up to my appointment at noon today, the staff would have had to inform me that Dr. Hong had cancelled my appointment, with no notification, because of my fiances decision to resign from her position. Needless to say, this would have caused a completely uncomfortable scene for the staff and patients, because the owner had a chip on his shoulder.I cannot begin to express my distaste for this facility, and ownership, and I feel sorry for the current and future staff to have to deal with such pettiness. Moving forward I would never recommend Lake Shore Family Dental to anyone, as ownerships position is not only completely unprofessional, but also completely insulting.P.S. I only gave one star because Google would not accept the post with no stars.

Made an appointment for my husband. Filling out the new patient forms was very easy and efficient, however, they neglected to inform my husband that they didnt accept our insurance until AFTER his appointment was over. I found that to be extremely unprofessional. We will not be going back.

I have been to many dentists in my life, as I have had life long dental troubles, and I can honestly report that lake shore is the best Ive been to. They care so deeply about making you comfortable mentally about your procedures regardless of the severity. Additionally they are so gentle while they work to reduce any unnecessary discomfort. They remember who you are and whats going on in your life and make a point to ask about it. They also check in with your insurance to save you from getting services you thought you were covered for and were not. Just overall one of the best places to get your dental needs met and I cannot recommend it enough.

I had such an amazing experience here! The team at lakeshore is beyond exceptional! I scheduled a general exam & teeth cleaning and was not disappointed! I was greeted from the moment I walked in & was at ease the entire duration of the appointment. I typically get slightly nervous going to the dentist, but the dental hygienist Kara, was wonderful! She is extremely knowledgeable, comforting, and so genuine! She walks you through everything so smoothly! Dr. Lam was also great! He took the time to explain everything & was so personable and friendly. The staff here is so welcoming & clearly highly trained individuals!

I went to Lake Shore Family Dental due to a reference from a friend, and i am glad I did. I have a phobia of the dentist that had prevented me from seeking out dental treatment for many years, and by the time I had gone to Lake Shore Family Dental i had cavities that needed to be filled, and being fully awake was not an option. They have the option for Sedation dentistry. It is not where they fully knock you out, like i had originally thought i would need to be, but instead they give medications while you are being monitored and honestly, I dont remember almost any of the experience, and what i do remember if not bad or negative adding to my phobia. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful family dentist (DR. Hong is AMAZING!!) and especially if you have a fear of the dentist, they will be able to take amazing care of your.

I can honestly say that this is THE BEST dentist office I have EVER visited. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like family. I went as a new patient for a dental emergency, called at 8am and they had me in that afternoon and worked around my schedule. I spent less than 5 minutes total sitting in the waiting room and once back in a chair there was no waiting for anyone. Based on the online paperwork that I submitted not ten minutes after making the appointment they knew that I had some anxiety and offered me a stress ball as well as a blanket since the office was cold as well as to just offer me comfort. The dentist and all the assistants were attentive to my every need and no work was done until I had a clear understanding of the treatment and the breakdown of the costs. They have invested in the technology to make a crown in house so a broken tooth was fixed in one visit with no return visit needed. I already have my cleaning scheduled with them, and for anyone that avoids going to the dentist out of fear or embarrassment I highly encourage you to give them a try. Dr. Hong and all his staff are just wonderful and if I could I would give them 10+ stars!

My girlfriend and I both have had nothing but positive experiences here. I saw Dr. Lam today after not being seen by a dentist in over 8 years. There was no judgement for my major lapse in dental care. Everyone from reception to the dental hygienest to Dr. Lam was extremely nice and thorough. The actual exam was pain free, which is not something I can typically say when visiting the dentist. I would highly recommend this practice.

I am one of those folks who stopped going to the dentist many many many years ago. Let’s just say my reasoning was valid. However, I knew deep in my heart I needed to go back.The staff was Great making me feel comfortable. I guess they have run into folks like me, before.During my first visit, I found the Dentistry profession has come-a-long-ways over the past fifteen+ years. I have not seen a dentist in a very long time and was nervous. Everyone on staff was extremely warm and accomodating. Every question was explained before I even had to ask. They are thorough and thoughtful in tailoring care for each patient. I honestly was not expecting them to ask me so many questions about what I prefer and how I want my care to be provided. I would highly recommend them and have already scheduled my next two appointments!

Everyone at this office, from the front desk, dental assistants and Dr. Hong, are superb. I am always treated with the utmost respect and kindness. Everyone here wants to make sure your experience is as comfortable as possible and they explain everything that is happening in your appointment and are always happy to give any answers to your questions.

Fantastic customer service from scheduling over the phone to the minute you walk out the door. Super impressed by the level of transparency in all areas (doctors credential, facility walk through, personnel introduction, billing explanation), a welcome present, thorough care and no push for upsale). Very impressed, would definitely recommend.

First time going there and they were great best experience ever

The employees at this office really shocked me with their kindness and understanding. From the front desk to the doctor himself they have all been great. Not to mention- fast! I was very surprised by how quick they are with bringing you back and getting the process started. This is also a great place to go if you experience any anxiety or fear regarding the dentist, it is the only place Ive ever been who Ive seen really take those feelings into consideration and accommodate accordingly. Ive been a few times so far and dont intend on visiting any other dentists while living in the area.

I love, love, love this office!! The staff is phenomenal and my appointments are honored so Im not waiting for hours for my appointment. If you want a dentist that cares, then this is where you need to be.

Dr. Hong fix my inlay just right on the first try. Other dentists had a hard time. He also noticed a sharp spot in my mouth that have been annoying me. He offered to fix it before I asked. Im very happy with this dentist.

I had a horrible toothache that would not go away. I kept putting off going to the dentist because of past bad experiences. The pain was excruciating so I finally decided I needed to go. I looked up dentists in my area and saw that Lake Shore Family Dental received excellent reviews. I called them and explained my situation. They were extremely nice and understanding and were able to see me right away. I cant remember the names of everyone I interacted with, but everyone was so nice. The dental assistant was very compassionate and understanding of my fear and anxiety. She even held my hand during my procedure. Dr. Hong explained everything he was going to do and totally put me at ease. He was very gentle and told me what he was doing while he was doing it. The procedure went much better than I expected. I am so glad I chose Lake Shore Family Dental and plan on using them as my regular denist.

I broke a tooth on New Years Eve about 3pm. The office was AWESOME they squeezed me in and was able to see me to put me at ease. Not the way I want to start the New Year but at least I have a great Dentist and practice!Thanks again

I had not seen a dentist in almost ten years due to some bad experiences in the past and my serious dental anxiety. On the recommendation of my sister, I decided to make an appointment at Lake Shore Family Dental. I have never had a better dentist! The entire staff is very kind and goes out if their way to make you feel comfortable (especially Corrine, who has cleaned my teeth multiple times). Dr. Lam is wonderful, genuinely caring, and knowledgeable. My last appointment was just an hour ago and I can honestly say that I felt NO anxiety at all about going to see them! They have almost completely changed how I feel about my teeth in just a few visits! Id recommend them a million times over!

I always have a great experience when I come to Lake Shore Family dental. I am not the greatest patient and going to the dentist not my favorite thing to do! The whole staff knows my name, and makes me feel welcome. I came early to my appointment expecting to wait, and they were able to take me right back. I also bring my kids here and being a family dental office run by a family the dentist has young kids himself so he is GREAT! Because of this office I have gone for my 6 month check-ups for the last 3 years, my teeth are healthier and it is because of the staff.
