Last time we visited they still had the strict covid-19 restrictions and lab work was completed outside in mobile units. Today it was a pleasure to walk inside the building with proper protocols and see the newly renovated facilities. Positive improvement and the lab section looks great. Wait time was minimal and things were pretty quiet in terms of patient traffic. A bit sad to find the store lacking merchandise but its part of the pandemic aftershocks. Baldwin is doing good.

Cannot get ahold of them via phone to make an appointment... All I can do is call and get a recording that.. “I’m sorry I did not hear your selection, please re-enter your selection now.” It will not take any key tones or voice input... absolutely terrible and typical government service.

I know the VA get a bad rep but I have had nothing but good experiences here at the VA at Lake Baldwin. I have gone for them for primary care, labs, pharmacy and for other services and the experience has been nothing but professional and worthwhile. Since I have been going here they have renovated much of the areas that I have been to and it really does make the clinic look modern and up to date.

I don’t know who the dude is that picks up the phone in mental health, but he needs to be fired. He’s completely unprofessional and rude as hell hanging up on me. I just wanted to speak with my provider; sending an email doesn’t warrant sighs and huffing cuz you have to do your job. Shame too - I need work and people like that are making more money than I am. Absolutely messed up

I am immensely disheartened by the social worker I spoke to in regards to my brother who is a patient. Carla Duryea played a victim (me) spoke on the phone with me for 27 minutes to get information out of me just to turn around the next business day and be very cold and rude when I wanted to clarify some things. I am very unsettled as I feel she used me against my brother. I feel that she did not have true intentions with me. I want wanted to be a social worker in high school to help kids so this hurts, Im assuming she wanted to help out Veterans if she in this field but she’s not. Just uses you.

Only a 10% service-connected disability, so they dont owe me a lot, but they have always given me any treatment needed. Always pleasant, from receptionists to Docs - Dr. Bilal and her team are great. Treated with respect. I know some have issues with VA, but this Vet feels well taken care of. The upgrade to the building is awesome, too. Looks very nice. Lk. Nona is fancier and more comprehensive, of course, but I like this little clinic. Been going here for 20 years.

I arrived as a walk in to the Green team and all of the nurses and staff were very polite and helpful. They took care of my issue and I got back to the rest of my day a lot sooner than I expected to. They also helped get me setup for a primary care provider with no hassle or issue.

I only went to this facility once for my C&P exam and my doctor was seriously so amazing I cannot even put it into words! She was so caring and personable. I would come back to this location just because of her and the great first impression. The building seemed older and was under some construction inside which is understandable. I think it’s probably a great facility for care!

Its important to note that this is a clinic and not a hospital for example a clinic regardless of its size is ill-equipped to handle any inpatient issues. I have been to this facility twice for a medication fill after residential rehabilitation for dual diagnosis and had more difficulty than anticipated and left without medication that I absolutely needed due to life threatening issues because they are focused on prevention and cant handle real hospital issues the underlying problem here is complex but the staff is compassionate

I will say that overall, I get great service. The employees here are wonderful. However, the Lab is lacking. They have a definite shortage of individuals working here. Currently, this morning, they have one person taking blood, open for 30 minutes, only 7 veterans helped. 15 veterans waiting. This is a management issue and they must be held accountable.

For the most part satisfactory theyre still in the process of renovating so there is some navigational issues the only issue is some staff seems to be intimidated by veterans or not veteran friendly. when I was helping a veteran to try to get his ID card from the VA they said they could not take pictures because they did not have drivers loaded on their computer systemthis is a billion-dollar corporation of the federal government and they cant even take pictures for ID cards whats going on down there.

Dr L Lee (blue team) is an outstanding Dr who really cares about vets and is very professional and a great person. Back in October 2016 I noticed my left eye had a bigger and darker floater than usual. I messaged Dr Lee and she immediately contacted Dr Lynn (Chief Optometrist) at Lake Nona who telephoned me the next day for me to come immediately to see him. I have been diagnosed with a non cancerous retinal tumor. Thank you Dr Lee and Dr Lynn for your outstanding, quick reaction and awesome treatment. You are the best of the best. For all the negative reports that the VA gets this is one report that is worthy of a thumbs up and top rating of A+++ for care, service and swiftness. Thank you and I appreciate you. Rich Ramirez US Army (active duty) retired/ 100 % permanent and total. GO ARMY!

Women’s health is great, Dr. Bilal and the support staff are great.Scheduling needs to start scheduling for your actual appointment however, including the 30 minute nurse screening so when you show up on time for when you’re scheduled you don’t get scolded. The lab is trash. Long wait times and rude staff. One angry tech actually walked into the waiting room and yelled at the elderly, hard-of-hearing, veterans to pay attention to the screen with the numbers. Quite shocking when you consider that he is yelling at ill people who served their country.Overall the location is cold, dingy and disorganized. Considering Orlando has a huge population of veterans they should do better.

Most always a great experience here. Sometimes have long waits, but staff and volunteers are all friendly and eager to help. Thank you to all the volunteers, they do a great job! I am on the orange team and Dr Mahmoud and her nurse, Judy, always take great care of me. I know a lot of people complain about the VA medical system but I have very few complaints and Im very thankful for it.

Are you truly serving those who have served? This is the second appointment that my husband has come to and they have the nerve to tell him it was cancelled two hours after sitting there.FYI mental clinic VA lake Baldwin, these men and women affected mentally by their experiences in service have a hard time sitting down hours with body aches and psych issues just so you can reschedule. Its a shame

Its always drama and a nightmare with this place. God forbid you get an appointment in a timely manner. I really dont see how this location has such a high rating. Id give it zeroing I could. Staff is also very rude and could care less. My Dr there also does not care at all and has a poor attittude. I will be trying the Clermont location from now on. Its much closer to my house anyway.

I have been service connected vet in the VA system for over 10 years and can understand a lot of reviewers frustrations, as I have had my fair share with the system as well. Like anything else in life, you come across great people who enjoy their jobs and interacting with the veterans and those who epitomize the stereotypical government worker attitude. Over the years, I personally have found the facility and staff at Lake Baldwin improving for the better. My biggest case in point, is Elinda from the Radiology department. If anyone is going through the service connection process, they know that is a lot of running around, a lot of we cant do that being said, and a lot of waiting around. I needed to get a copy of my images from Radiology. I called prior to see if it was even possible for me to get them. I was fortunate to talk to Elinda, who answered the phone warmly and with no negativity in her voice at all. Elinda assured me that it would be no problem at all, but that I would have to pick them up in person and that it would take around 15 minutes. If you have been with the VA for a while or read comments, you are aware that statement is a minor miracle in itself.I arrived at Lake Baldwins Radiology Dept. the next day, prepared for the worst. They had construction going on near the waiting area for Radiology, which in my mind signified that they are working to improve the clinic. However, I was greeted by a bubbly, upbeat, and compassionate Elinda. My information was taken and I was asked to take a seat. Less than 15 minutes later, my CD was ready for me. I was very thankful to Elinda for making my trip from Deltona, worthwhile in my opinion. We have to keep in mind, that the VA is just like the military when it comes to the employees and locations. Their are employees just there for the paycheck, who dont care as much about the vets. However, there are Elindas out there. They care about the quality of service/treatment being given (shout out to the Teal Team and Ms. Zimmerman on the 4th Floor). Those employees that do the best job, rightfully so, get promoted and moved on to bigger and better things.I hope this review has helped show that their are great employees within the VA, still. If you are dissatisfied with your service, you can request to see someone else (which I have done many times). The same happens even in the private sector, as well.

Worst place on earth. EVERYONE that works here is rude and incompetent! They should not be aloud to work in healthcare anywhere but especially not with veterans they should all be ashamed of themselves. If you care about yourself or your family member DO NOT seek treatment for anything at Baldwin park. If it was a hosptial for civilians the government would shut it down but since no one care about vets it stays open. You could die in the hall and they wouldn’t notice or care until you started to smell.

Tremendously understaffed. Feel bad for the frontline staff, seems like an administration that doesnt care about their patients and employees well being. These issues never get fixed, and a huge reason patients get inadequate care. Request more money to improve the va, and they hire more administration jobs it seems, instead of the nurses and doctors. They burn the good ones out here with no cares.
