Everybody I encountered was pleasant and helpful. I couldnt have asked for better care. Far exceeded my expectations. Facility is super nice and extremely clean. My care team was 100% on point. Everything was explained to me in detail. What to expect and watch out for afterwards was also well explained. I was sent home with ample information. Prescriptions were ordered prior to surgery which was great. Didnt have to worry about going to the pharmacy afterwards. Highly recommend this facility.

I had a small outpatient procedure on 10/4/21. This facility was very nice. The gown that has warm air running through it is the best invention ever! The nurses were kind, happy, (mostly) efficient. Everything was clean. The only thing I didn’t like was the discharge process took forever. I think they had too many cases and things got backed up. I would go back (probably will have to..) any time.

I had my baby girl at Winnie Palmer earlier this week & I was in aw of how beautiful the hospital is. Not only that but every single interaction was amazing, the staff was very friendly and always checked on me and baby periodically. Every day I was more amazed at how wonderful this hospital is. I hope to have all of my future children at Winnie Palmer. Thank you to everyone that was a part of my delivery and postpartum care.

I was scheduled to have a Robotic myomectomy done to remove fibroid and a Cysts. I must say that every one involved in this process was very pleasant, easy to talk with and extremely helpful. From the receptionist to the pre-admin staff to the nurses and my doctor, I never met an unpleasant face. The day of the procedure I felt so taken care of, there were so many nurses and staff around who was so attentive and caring. I was put at ease and I felt quite relaxed, the process was so smooth and before you know it I was all done. Now Im home recovering. Thank you all for your care..Dr Jessica Vaughn and staff.

Winnie Palmer was hands down the best Hospital visit I have had. Wouldn’t ever have a baby anywhere else! The doctors and nurses are super caring and just sweet and amazing! They do everything for you and baby in house, even filing prescriptions to send him with you so you don’t have to make an extra stop! Also the food! Definitely 5 stars! Our room and view was amazing! We left with a happy, healthy baby and a great experience!

This hospital is by far one of the worst hospitals I’ve ever received care from in my entire life. The nursing staff could use a lesson on proper edicate and making new mom’s feel at ease. The entire process was stressful and seemed nobody was on one accord. I was actually extremely excited about birthing my first born at Palmer. I would NEVER have another child at this hospital.

I had the best experience at Winnie and for it being my first time admitted into any hospital they made me feel comfortable, calm, and confident. I was well taken care of and loved by all the nurses. Any staff member I came in contact with were professional and so kind. All the nurses taking care of my baby in the nicu are extremely attentive to her. They answer all of my questions/concerns. Some of the nurses went above and beyond when I needed help with breastfeeding. I would recommend this hospital to any mom to be. Lastly the food is amazing!!!

Minus the fundamental need to be hospitalized, my hospitalization in the Tower 10 GYN/Women’s Unit was excellent. The room was large, pretty, and clean with large windows, the staff were all personable and professional, the medical services (triage, X-Ray, ultrasound, transport, labs, etc) were all great, and the food was good (once I could finally eat lol). My Mother (a retired Nurse Practitioner) was also impressed with the facilities and staff. She spent all day with me for numerous days and was very comfortable in the room (there is a sleeper couch and recliner in the room for guests/patients). It was appreciated by both of us that food and drink were available to her delivered to the room at no charge (only $5 for a large meal for additional guests). It really made an impression on me the first day when the nurse, Jennifer, privately checked with me if it was okay my Mother was going to eat in front of me (I was restricted to IVs only). If it wasnt, she wasnt going to bring the food into the room and would have politely requested my Mother eat outside of the room. That attention to patient care, respect, and detail was really apparent throughout my stay by all staff. My experience really lived up to the hype I had always heard about WP.

Where do I begin! I would say I did not have the best experience at this hospital 10 years ago, it absolutely attrocious! However, I Will say this time around was the BEST EXPERIENCE and my last I could have ever had because Im not having any more kids. I got my pair so Im officially done! But from walking into the Labor & Delivery room to be greeted by everyone 5:30 in the morning was refreshing, my nurse Ms Arlene was amazing! She was personable and just guided me through the whole thing with ease and helped made me feel comfortable while during surgery. All the Drs came in and introduced themselves, sadly my Dr wasnt able to be there to deliver my Lil one but Dr Munoz was FABULOUS, my Drs midwife/RN Amy was there so she was a familiar face from my Drs office to be in the delivery room with me. I Kno its everyones job to do what in stating but they all took their roles personal and was just heart felt to know your just not another somebody. They played music which I sang along to to get my mind off what they were doing. All of the nurses were phenomenal!! I remembered all there names I think, let me see if I got them all;I had the pleasure to work with and be treated with much care by ;Bell, Heather, Danielle, Steph, Jenn, Nicole, Genevieve, I think Im missing a few Im sorry ladies please forgive me. Dr Ramirez came twice to check in she saw I had a concern or two and she addressed the elephant in the room I cant thank her enough for just knowing how I felt and what I had to do to feel and get better. THANK YOU ALL SOOO MUCH FOR THE BEST DELIVERY EXPERIENCE I TRULY PRAYED FOR!!!!!!!!

We were was directed here do to abnormal results from a doctors appointment. However, the wait to be seen was over an hour. If the OB was so concerned that we needed to go to the hospital immediately then over an hour is unacceptable. Time is of the essence in fetal health. Additionally, when asked about timing you are dismissed. The whole Orlando Health system is horrible and the experience is not one of care. And the medical professionals wonder why people of color are opting to not have babies in the hospital.

I was hesitant as the date approached because of the mixed reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality care I received in comparison to my previous experience with the competing hospital. I am now in favor of delivering at Winnie Palmer in the future, no question about it. My doctor, Dr. Spencer, was phenomenal as I had hoped and expected. The nurses were attentative, helpful, and professional. I had no issues with maintenance, dining, transportation or any other departments I interacted with. My nurse, Abby, was incredible: she advocated for me to finalize my post discharge appointments and ensured my discharge was smooth. Also, the nurses were very comforting as my milk didnt come in until day three; I was feeling like a failure and they helped me with trying to squeeze my breast to produce milk and provided me with a nipple shield, in addition to giving me encouraging words. Overall, a delightful experience.

I had a positive experience at Winnie Palmer and would go there again for the next birth. I was there for two days of recovery after having an emergency c-section and I loved how the nurses kept coming into my room every couple hours (all day and all night) to check on me and the baby and to keep placing the baby into my arms for breastfeeding. The nurses were great at helping me, a first time mom, to learn how to position the baby properly and comfortably for breastfeeding. Some people might get annoyed at the nurses continually coming in every couple hours (even all night long) but personally I was so relieved that they kept doing that for me since I had just had surgery and therefore couldnt easily reach over to get my baby myself. Also I thought the food was pretty good and I liked how there was a Murphy bed for a guest.

If you have an option between Winnie and a different hospital, please go with the other hospital. If you are African American, please don’t go into Winnie Palmer alone. You may not make it out alive.Keep track of every poke and prode they do to your body. Record if you can. There may be times where they will come take blood draws for testing, lose that blood sample (or destroy it, who knows) and they will come back to take more samples, trying to convince you that they never took the first blood draw. This happened to me. Although it may seem minor, the principle of integrity was greatly compromised because the Winnie nurse who messed up wouldn’t admit to her mistake. It was more convenient for them to tell me that I was crazy.Lastly, have a lawyer on speed dial. At any point you wish to leave with your baby, you have the legal right to do so (provided that the baby is healthy of course). They will try to intimidate you and tell you that the insurance won’t pay if you leave against doctors orders, but screw that if it means walking out of there alive with your child.Editing review to add the following:This hospital is also bad for calling false alarms, resulting in your baby being born too early. They almost delivered my baby at 33 weeks because according to them, the baby failed the BPP exam. He wasn’t moving much but his heart tones were wonderful. I asked for second opinion because I wasn’t convinced that anything was wrong. The BPP was repeated and the baby passed with flying colors. One of the doctors later came to me and said baby was likely just sleeping as I had taken Benadryl the night prior. So y’all almost delivered my baby a whole month early because he was sleeping????Please advocate for yourselves ladies. It’s not being defiant. It’s not being non-compliant. YOU are the most important part of your healthcare team because only YOU know how you feel.

I would not take my dog to this place, there ability to deliver a baby was disgusting, there were only a nurse and Dr and could not do the job without me helping and never asked for another nurse for help. The nurse took 2 hours after delivery before we even got a weight and before we left 2 days later they weighed our daughter again and never told us what the weight even was, also we never received any discharge papers or any kind of paperwork at all except stuff about covid. If I would have known how this place was and the lack of communication I would have definitely went to Lake Nona.

We were treated as part of the family every step of the way. Their knowledge, confidence, and abilities were beyond my expectations and put the whole family at ease. They have thought about everything from the breast milk bank that handles the milk and freezes/thaws as needed to the free meal tray for the parent to the hotel-like NICU rooms that you can stay with the baby— they have thought of everything. Baby was born just fine. The rating issue to actions of the Baby Mother floor nurse Andi.Andi was present in the room when the pediatrician stated that a 12 hour release was approved. We under no uncertain terms stated to Andi that we wanted to leave at the 12 hour mark per the doctor.Andi decided she practiced medicine and we were subject to Andi’s non-existent medical degree and she felt a 24 hour release was needed. At the 11.5 and 12 hours we let her again know our desire to leave. At 12.5 hour we let Andi know we would be leaving in 30 minutes. Which she ignored until we arrived at the front desk.Andi then lost her mind and stated we were told 24 hours (curious why we’re getting yelled at for a doctors decision). We then told her we were leaving at 12 per the doctors decision she was delaying it. She then stated my wife was “a miserable person” for following the Winnie Palmer’s pediatricians medical advice to leave at 12 hours. This advice was also echo’ed by the phlebotomist, lactation consultants, social worker, etc.Everyone but Nurse Andi, who has no authority to make a medical decision, came to the same conclusion. So don’t let Winnie Palmer fool you. It’s not a nice place to have a child. It’s a thin veneer of looking fancy with highly poor nursing staff.Other issues. Mec covered sheets, sewing needles found in reclining chair, unclean bathroom in mother/baby. I understand it’s peak delta when we were there but it doesn’t excuse not washing sheets.W. Palmer social media staff. I have spoken directly to the charge nurse. As no changes were made by this egregious behavior, you earned the rating. We gave you a month to make the proper decision.

I was admitted due to many pregnancy complications including my blood pressure. Although, things were stable for a short time the doctors and staff caught the sudden decline just in time and saved my life. An emergency c-section was performed very successfully. In the operating room being absolutely terrified, all the staff were very aware and remained professional and made me very calm and comfortable for the procedure. Due to FGR my son was too small to be placed in the NICU with a tube but everything possible was done for him and he was made very comfortable in mine and his fathers arms before he passed. The amount of compassion and professional care I was shown by ALL staff in this hospital was absolutely amazing! If it wasnt for them and my family, I honestly do not know where i would be. They gave me so many free of charge resources before discharge to assist in the grieving process and they continue to follow up with my health and provide more needed resources on a regular basis. They have ALWAYS been very on top of things and we couldnt possibly be any more thankful. Also, the food the kitchen staff provided was always so yummy! My guests were always very well taken care of right along with me. Thank you everyone at Winnie Palmer, you are AWESOME !❤

My wife, Raegan, recently delivered at Winnie Palmer.. Our whole experience was AMAZING! L&D nurses, Tatiana and Lauren took the best care of her and treated her like she was family, Tatiana even took the time to personally speak to my MIL when a concern popped up to put her mind at ease since she couldn’t be there because of visitor policy. There seriously isn’t something bad to say. Also, our two nurses on the mother and baby floor, Savannah and Mckenzie, were out standing. They treated us with the best care and made sure we felt confident being first time parents. So sweet and we never felt like a bother to them! If we could have all the same nurses for our next baby we would choose the 4 of them! Highlyyyyy recommend Winnie! You can’t go wrong.

Dont believe the five-star reviews-- theyre all fake accounts. They injected my wife with the wrong medications, went horribly wrong on the epidural and she had a life-threatening emergency before going into having a c-section. They drug test everyone without consent here and send in a very rude CPS officer to your hospital recovery room and start an investigation on you. They will test babys meconium which shows everything during the whole pregnancy, so dont go here if you ever took CBD during your pregnancy or any other drugs whatsoever unless you want a several months to years long DCF investigation on you.

Regrettably, I have to change my rating based on my most recent experience. My prior rating of 5 stars from my first birth at this hospital has been badly overshadowed by my latest experience. This visit was my second birth at Winnie Palmer. Unfortunately the difference between my first birth experience and this one was quite stark. My first was absolutely wonderful, staff was attentive and timely with all steps of the process often anticipating needs before I even thought to ask. I even had a care package in my post partum suite from my first delivery with self-care items for mom and a cute onesie and burp cloth for baby. This time, I was encouraged to come in a day early for my scheduled induction as there were beds available. However, I feel the decision to pull my appointment forward to fill beds was at the detriment of my overall care and experience. The labor and delivery floor I was on was understaffed for the demand, so there should never have been an attempt to pull in more patients. There were hours during the night that there were no anesthesiology staff and no doctors available and there were no apparent attempts made to call in more staff to assure continuity of care for patients on the floor while ALL of the doctors were tied up for hours during back to back c-sections. I can only speak for my experience, but I can say that the decision to manage a very busy night without calling in more help, lead to a more painful and stressful experience for me as a patient that was completely avoidable. I requested an epidural and was unable to get one for nearly 3 hours due to staff being in the OR so I had to wait for the 7 AM shift change to get an epidural. Then when I did get it, the initial dose was so high that I was completely numb from my lower ribs down for nearly the entire day. Even after repeated requests to turn off the continued doses of medication it was left on, which resulted in dangerously low blood pressure drops among other very disconcerting side effects. When anesthesiology did finally turn it off, it took nearly 2 hours to regain any feeling at all and I was unable to feel contractions or pressure which meant I couldnt tell the care team when I could feel pressure indicating any progress in dilation. I dont blame the staff really. They did the best they could with the people they had on hand. However, the level of service fell very short of the bar that had been set on my prior visit. You could tell everyone was aware the situation was bad, but there seemed to be a mentality of, this is all we can do, so sorry. Such an overarching theme is not set by the care or supervision of one floor, but comes from the top. Winnie Palmer is capable of better. I have seen it. Im not sure if its budgeting concerns that changed the level of staff available? It was glaringly obvious that there were no midwives on the floor, where before that was all I saw beyond nurses until a resident took over at push time. I noticed many things that appeared procedurally different, and the only thing that would make sense for the changes I observed and experienced, was cost cutting. Which is very disappointing and made for a very stressful stay. I opted to push for early discharge at 24 hours post birth rather than stay for continued aftercare due to the differences in care. There used to be a rule that protected bonding time during set hours of the night so that staff would give the new mom and baby a break, but that was not the case anymore. The cards advertising the do not disturb hours are gone, and staff, including cleaners, were coming in at all hours. If someone were a first time mom delivering here, they may not notice. Especially if they had low expectations from the norm of hospital care. However, since I have seen Winnie on their A game previously, it was crushing really to have this follow up experience. The highlight of my stay was when Sarah, my labor nurse, went out of her way to make sure I got a fruit tray that nutrition failed to deliver. She picked it up herself and brought it to my new floor.

I’ve never had such an amazing experience as a patient at a hospital before, even dad being a guest agreed the level of care we received was impeccable. From the moment we got to triage to the moment we left every single encounter with staff was so pleasant. Everyone involved in my care were so helpful and went above and beyond for me, my child and dad. Being a first time mom you don’t know really what to expect but I was talked through each process, or shown how to do things I’ve never done before (like swaddle baby, set up and install a car seat, etc,). It truly meant a lot to me that my OB Dr. Natasha Spencer made sure she could be there and be the one to do my c section, to me that’s going above and beyond for your patient and that meant so much to me. I couldn’t be happier to have delivered and Winnie, to have Dr. Spencer as my physician and for the nursing staff that took care of me during my entire stay. I can’t wait to deliver my future babies here!

I had the most amazing experience the day of my procedure, from checking in and registration to checking out in PACU everybody that played a part in taking care of me really did make every effort to make me feel as comfortable as possible, whether that be nervous about the procedure, pain regarding the procedure, as well as education pre-and post procedure that was easily explained and easy to follow. I was taking care of extremely well and everyone in the team that was part of my Journey was informative, professional, caring, and overall made me feel like I was the only person being taken care of at that time.

Reducing the number of visitors allowed for an expecting mother to be extra cautious is a joke.We were told Winnie Palmer was only testing the mother for COVID and not the guests. Why not start with administering COVID tests to the two guests? That seems like a very reasonable place to start (and honestly foolish to not have been doing this the entire time). Why not force the guests not to leave the hospital during the patients stay?We have spent thousands between the birth and a doula and now were stuck throwing away money because Winnie Palmers leadership went from 0 IQ (not testing guests for COVID) to 0 EQ (not thinking of the toll it puts on expecting mothers/families).

I had my first child a year ago. I went to Winnie 1/28/2020 and the doctor checked me and sent me home being I was 2cm. I woke up the next morning feeling pain, I stayed up for hours and home remembering she said I could be at 2cm for days sometimes weeks, which is common. I finally decided to go to the hospital after hours of what felt like active labor pain.As I stepped in the hospital I stopped at the entrance to allow the pain to pass and then stopping a few feet more at the reception desk to allow another. The reception said looks like your having contractions, that was about 2mins. I gave her my information and she sent me to sit in the waiting. It didnt take too long for someone to come and take me to the room for an assessment. The 1st nurse checked me and said Your 8cm. Looks like you did the hard part at home. Thats excellent, were going to check you in now. I was excited, shocked, scared and a bit mentally unprepared at this point. Its funny how you picture the day you give birth and what the day actually is, well thats not it. I was brought up stairs and immediately after being rolled out the elevator my water broke. The water break sent me into panic, everything just was happening too fast for me to grasp. As they transfered me to the bed in my delivery room I joked I guess its too late to have an epidural huh. My hubby smiled at me, the delivery nurse said No, you can still get one. I looked at her surprised and said But Im 8cm and my water just broke. She replied You can actually can get one as long as you can sit for it. But if you wanted to get one youd have to get it now.Being a first time mom who just thought shed have more time and was scared I said yes. Honestly, I wasnt thinking straight and trusted the medical team around me because I thought they were truly there for me. And thats where my biggest regret starts. I sat uncomfortably for them to put the needle in, the whole process of signing the papers for it and them placing the needle took about 20mins. As soon as the needle went in I only had 1 question how long until it kicks in? Nurse: It will only be a few minutes I looked at her and said I need to push. She asked if I was sure and I said yes.She proceeded to check me and realized I was now 10cm she got the doctor and I started to push. The epidural didnt have time to kick in, with 5 quick pushes my baby girl was out. The labor was easy but stitches were the worst and the nurse was confused as she said I shouldnt be feeling anything. They gave me a shot directly down my lady parts to try to help with the pain so they could continue stitching. As soon as they were done they gave me a pill and helped me stand so I could wash up and go to my room. The nurse looked at me and said in a joking manner next time you should come earlier. I didnt laugh, I was just happy to go to my room.As I was in my room the nurses and sometimes doctors came and checked on my and the baby. Every visit they would try to give me painkillers but I would refused them as I wasnt one to take medication and I was able to manage the pain.Three things I realized at home. I never needed the epidural, i spoke to my aunt whos also a nurse and she and all my family were disgusted that they even offered it to me as an option but as she said Its the money for them, its $5000 just for the epidural alone. I was disappointed not just about how much that was and why they would give it to me but more so because it didnt help and now i have back pain with the little to no work. The 2nd thing is that no one asked me what I wanted to do with my placenta, they just took it and did what, I dont know. The 3rd thing, I never got back my doctor visits card that has all my babies length, check up dates, etc. They still dont know what happened to it, that was suppose to be a keepsake for myself and my baby. The nurses were overall very nice, I still feel robbed of the experience, apart of myself and my records. The hospital is business and money first.

My wife and I chose Winnie Palmer for our baby’s birth. It was a great decision. The level of service, professionalism, and care is unmatched. We were very pleased with everything. The staff are amazing. We arrived June 9th and left June 11th. In the birthing room our RN Missy and anesthetist Bernadette went above and beyond to help my wife with the delivery. Missy even visited us upstairs during her break the next day to see our baby. On the 7th floor nursery we felt welcomed by Anna, Savannah, and Melissa in our room. They always made sure we were always taken care of. The pediatrician Dr Christina checked on our baby multiple times and answered any questions we had. For a short stay the staff treated my wife, baby, and I like family. We will definitely consider Winnie Palmer for our future births and will recommend them to our family and friends.

I had the most amazing experience at this hospital. I had visited two times prior because I thought I was going into labor, but I wasnt yet fully dilated nor did my water break. I finally went after having my membrane swept by my OB and it was go time. Everyone was incredibly helpful and made things very smooth. From the moment I walked in and notified the security that my water had broken, he followed me all the way through because it was beneficial to me and my baby in case something were to have happened between the front of the hospital to triage. I was admitted and waited and people were very understanding throughout my entire process because of things that were going on in my personal life. Everyone was very cooperative and helped me. They asked me questions to make sure I felt okay. It took some time to finally go up to delivery and finally get my c-section done. The anesthesiologist made me feel incredibly comfortable the whole way through. He kept making sure I was doing well while I was under and my baby was being taken out of me. All the nurses and doctors spoke with me in private and made sure to ask me any personal questions in case I felt unsafe. I laughed the whole way through and so did all the staff members. I loved feeling the way I did because everyone kept an eye on me the entire time I was there. Once my baby was born, they still kept an eye on me and my newborn. I had the best time, even though we were checked on every two hours, I felt safe and secured. In those moments, I didnt care about undressing in front of the staff because they had been doing this for so many years, they were there to help me get better. They even asked me if I wanted to stay an extra day (thinking about it now, I wish I wouldve stayed an extra day because I would have been all alone for a few hours before my family came to pick me up). I wish I could remember everyones names that were there to help me because I would love to thank them individually. I will definitely come back and stay with them in case of another pregnancy in the future.

At 12:00AM, on the morning we were supposed to check out of our hotel and head home, my water broke and we headed to the hospital to check to see if I was in labor. I will never fully be able to describe or put into words how wonderful Emmas delivery was at the Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. The anesthesia team Dr. Harrison were amazing he didnt even have me count down. All I remember was waking up in recovery. I’ve literally never experienced something so horrible in my life. They did nothing. I mean I sat in a room and didn’t speak to ANYONE for almost 3 hours. They said they were going to come back and do an ekg again and this and that. Never did. They only did something when I finally stepped outside and said “hey are we ever gonna speak to anyone again” then they 5 minutes later got our discharge paperwork. Just like that. The best hospital! My wife received so much genuine care in the middle of the pandemic from Dr. Chudgar and the entire staff. My wife had a C section, and the staff from operating room were all amazing! The reception and the check in process were a bit rough due to change of systems. But, everything else was great. Nurses cared so much for the newborn and the mother. During our stay, all nurses from the 6th (our room was 6206) floor came by to check on the well being, changed diapers, and extended strong support. Despite many difficulties, all nurses (definitely Deborah, the lactation specialist) were very patient and addressed all questions. Many of them have their own children, we found out. Perhaps, that was one of the reasons they took such a great care of our newborn son. Thank you, Winnie Palmer and Dr. Chudgar. All the blessings to you! P.S. our delivery was on 4/25. Sorry for the late submission. I am still catching up on sleep.

I was between a 3 and 4, but due to the excellent caring nature of the staff I decided to round up. Admission and discharge take a long time. Our discharge took over seven hours. We would had stayed an additional night had we known it would take as long as it did. Aside from that, everyone was very kind, caring, and friendly. I was induced and had five different nurses during that night/morning period of labor. This did not bother me or affect my care, but might be a no-go for some.

I was the birthing partner for someone who experienced the loss of their child at this hospital. All I will say on here is that there were multiple instances where compassion, and concern for mental health, were seriously lacking in her post partum care. It was horrifying and upsetting and as a hospital built for women and babys they should be prepared to care for all that comes with that. The uglier sides of pregnancy, like loss and mental health needs, should not be ignored in this day and age.
