Took a CHANCE and let the Asian stylist do my 4A- Black Girl Hair because I needed a quick fix!ALL the way from Taiwan for a Chinese woman to do my hair in Oakland! THE IRONY(I’m used to great walk-in blowouts at Dominican shops on the East Coast)Good Experience Overall though she only did 1 shampoo, 2 is idealPersonable Staff (My Stylist/Shop Manager was pleasant & Told good stories)UNTIL I WAS HIT WITH THE $100 UPCHARGE!!She explained that the service took longer than1 1/2 hours so I was charged double!!COMPLETE BS in my opinion 😡In town for a funeral, I Paid and rushed outBut likely WILL NOT go back next time I’m home!Read the fine print ladies......

I came here for the 3rd time a couple of weeks ago prior to my friends wedding in Oakland, and this place does not disappoint! When it comes to customer service they are top notch. I called only a few days before because I had slacked off on making an appointment, and they were very helpful and luckily able to accommodate me, which I really appreciate. They were prompt in helping me and offering me tea as I was taken to the station. The stylist helping me was so kind and made sure I had a relaxing experience when I mentioned I was stressed, and the wash and conditioning felt so nice. I have extremely curly, frizzy, puffy hair and I love that everyone who works at this salon is prepared to deal with that type of hair and not intimidated by it, like so many other places Ive gone to. This time I wanted a bit more of a style and they delivered. I asked for it straight at the top with loose curls at the bottom, sleek with some character for the occasion. It came out so good, and the style lasted even after a couple of days! I was so impressed and happy. The main comments I have is that they are consistently great, which is awesome and so rare to find. This is my go to place because I know I can count on them for a great style, friendly customer service and I get so many compliments!

I absolutely loved the final look. I was taken care of by Jasmine where i told her i need a messy look on my hair. She did a perfect job. I got many compliments. Booking an appointment was easy, i did it two weeks in advance. Liked the vibe of the place too.

Vanessa & Charles are ALL AMAZING Blowout Stylists. This salon is now one of the BEST in the Bay Area! I highly recommend and book an appointment early because they fill up fast!

Brides beware - do not come here for your big day! I had the most horrific experience. I made my appointments months in advance as a bridal party. I came in a week prior to book the stylists we wanted because this place has a reputation of moving up receptionists to stylists and they usually arent very good. So wanted to make sure we didnt have to deal with that. I made this very clear to the receptionist who helped me and she said it was not a problem. I called the night prior to confirm and 2 people who they booked for me apparently quit and they never told me I no longer had those appointments! So I sent 2 people to a different salon and confirmed who we had again - the night before.We went in the day of and all our stylists were switched around and we had both the people that we asked NOT to specifically have. It was too late to switch back because they already booked the other people we requested. We started the appointments and the newer girl did one of my bridesmaids hair. Simple, basic curls and she was taking foooorrever. I asked her much longer she was going to be as she had an appointment after her and we had to leave to make-up appointments. She kept saying a few minutes. 30 minutes later I had to leave my bridesmaid because I was already late to my makeup appointment (I was the bride).I had left a deposit for all my appointments and the receptionist couldnt figure out to deduct the $240 I already paid and kept telling me I owed over $400 (I should have owed $100). I finally had to leave because I was late and asked her to ask the manager to just settle bill with me as she was not there. I leave and the newbie doing my friends hair finally finishes and then starts my next bridesmaids hair super late so now she is going to be late for her makeup appointment. Bridesmaid said dont wash my hair and just curl because we are super late.To top it off, we had to redo both those girls hair because the job was so terrible!!!! Then they have the nerve to charge me late fees for both of them! Are you kidding me? So 2 other bridemaids get their hair done by people that were not on our original booking, both terrible jobs and they have to redo their hair at the wedding venue. Then, I had prepaid for my mom and aunt to get there hair done as well. After all these screw ups this place has the nerve to make my mom pay the remainder of the bill to which they added fees for putting bobby pins in maid of honors hair. She told us the manager told us, once you put a bobbypin in it is considered an updo but didnt tell her during the time they were doing her hair.Then, my mom was supposed to get her makeup done there too. They dropped the ball everywhere else so we didnt want to stay. I specifically asked the receptionist if we could cancel the makeup appt without a fee to which she said yes. Then they charged me a fee later! They also charged me an extra blowout because one of my bridesmaids paid for hers separately. I have called 3 times since then and emailed twice to get a breakdown of charges so I can at least get the money back that I was overcharged. I am still waiting and come to find out my maid of honor wrote a yelp review about our terrible experience and the owner had the audacity to write a false response and still has not responded to my inquiry because they are too busy at the moment to help me!

Not quite understand why this place has a 4.2 score on its review . I am the only one who had been canceled her appointment not once, not twice , but three times !!!! Ruta, might be the manager, keep apologizing and offering complimentary fusions, but that’s not what I want . I want the blow dry service and only happened once and honestly wasn’t great . I paid fir the three blow dry packet and now she said is not in my account. Luckily it is my CC statement, but if I’ve had paid cash , I will never had my money back. So disappointed

It was so humid in there and my hair was not fully dried, so it immediately frizzed...within 2 min. Waste of time and money. I went there when I was post-op and unable to blow out my own hair. They were also not knowledgeable around protecting hair color when shampooing....I ended opting out of the shampoo because of it.

I love this place, every stylist that I have gone to has always been so friendly and they always do a great job with my blowouts.

Normally they do a great job, especially Alandria. This last visit was kind of a let down. I told them Id be running late because I had to commute from the city. I told them 15 mins late, they said fine. Then they called me back and told me my stylist had to cancel; I agreed to try another stylist (being flexible). Long story short, I showed up 17 minutes late and they threatened to cancel my appt. Seriously? They gave me such a hard time over 2 minutes when Ive been flexible and Ive even waited 20 minutes for my appt when Ive showed up on time. Going to the salon should be relaxing, this time out was anything but. AND she didnt get my hair very clean at all. Bummer.

They did great with my daughters hair. Totally worth it
