I would highly recommend Neilson Norwell office. I am a new patient and from the moment I arrived was made to feel welcome. The waiting room was busy but their check in system and process is so organized I was in and out in 30 minutes.The doctor was thorough and informed and everyone was friendly and helpful

I was directed to a room to watch a video on cataract surgery. This was before the doctor examined me. I was told I needed cataract surgery. Went to Mass Eye and Ear for 2nd opinion. I dont need surgery, just an upgrade on my glasses. Beware!

Excellent staff, location, clean site, and parking. But I was disappointed to discover that I could not get the glasses made at the same time on site. Nor did the staff I spoke with when I learned this as we left seem familiar with my questions of where to go to get MaHealth-paid frames and lenses for my daughter.

I gave it a 5 for a couple of reasons. On my recent visit, I showed up 2 days early! I thought it was on Monday but was actually supposed to be on Wednesday. The 2 ladies at the front desk were very accommodating and they arranged to get me in on the day I arrived with minimal waiting time. Once I got in to see the doctor and her assistant, they took good care of me.

UPDATE : After posting my reviews with my displeasure I received a call from the head of this office to see what she could do to turn this into a positive experience. She offered to come to my home to measure the pupilary distance (which was very surprising), she also stated they would now start measuring the pupillary distance fro all of their clients.I appreciated the personal contact and willingness to make it so I could get corrective lenses.Original review:Unfortunately what potentially could have been good service moved to unacceptable.When I was looking for a new Optometrist as my former retired, I was sure to ask every potential Optometrist if they furnish pupillary distance.When I chose Nielsen Eye center it was because they said yes. During the exam they measured me for this.They tried to upsell me to surgery, which I am not interested in. I let the doc know this, and she stated if I change my mind to let them know.Fast forward when I ask for my script so I can get glasses online, They did not furnish it. I assumed it was an error and called, and was told they dont furnish that. Period.I spoke to several people at the office who were rude, bewildered and one asked me to tell her where it says that in their contract with my insurance.So, my benefit has been soaked and I am now appealing to my insurance company since I cannot get glasses with what they provided, and I will be reaching out to the Department of insurance and making a complaint to the medical board.This isnt acceptable and will not be accepted.

I had an appointment today at this clinic at their Longwater Drive, Norwell location, when I arrived the welcome was not that appealing especially when youre going to a place for the first time, no smile, hello with not that welcoming feeling! The technician took me inside after few minutes and examined me, later on she asked me if I wanted a prescription for my eyes and I said sure, she said the charge will be $35.00, first time I heard this, but when I left after my yearly diabetic test I was rushing out so they did not give me my prescription with my check out papers. Sometimes you feel did they even check you properly or they just rushed because they want high turnover and is it all about money? Do they even care, I do not like to go to an institution who are not going to take care of you or give you the right advise and take the time to diagnose you thoroughly with care.

I had a similiar experience. They said I would have to pay $35 for a refraction which has always been covered by my vision insurance. When i told the tech to bill me she said it would be $50 if they billed me. I left without having the exam. This place is ripoff. I would stay far away!!! I am in the process of reporting them to the proper authorities. I had already paid a $30 copay, which I believe should be returned to me. All they care about is money. Stay away from this practice!
