Wish I could concur with the other positive reviews, but I cannot. The staff was warm and helpful, but the doctor was arrogant and unwilling to answer questions and explain his methods and reasoning for a particular type of reconstructive breast cancer surgery. Sad that he did not have the patience to help a cancer patient. If you choose this doctor, I hope you have a much better experience.

I was referred to Dr. Dickinson from a previous breast cancer patient. I am so grateful that I found him. He is very experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate. His goal is to make the patient happy, comfortable and he truly cares about people. Any type of surgery is serious and you want someone competent that will do an excellent job. You will know that he is the one to trust once you have a consultation with him. Use your gut feeling when interviewing surgeons and you will know when it feels right. I am blessed to have found him and my wish is for Dr. Dickinson to continue to help as many people as possible.

Wish I could concur with the other reviewers that said how the staff was so warm,helpful, available and receptive to answer questions and concerns but alas Throughout this ordeal that is not what I experienced.One of the staff, Jennifer basically said that while paperwork had been submitted to my insurance co.I didnt Need to keep phoning in.I called a couple times per week because I was hopeful my insurance would be approved and excited to move forward asap.Lol. If things had been explained properly in the first place, I wouldnt have felt it necessary to call.Heres what I encountered:Had a consultation.Got the Estimate.After my insurance request fell through I was asked if I want to go Forward with the procedure.butI had some Additional questions regarding said procedure before I am ready to commit.Questions. Understandable .Most people would maybe have some too.I waited for clarification... No response.Did not get my Valid questions answered not by phone,(by this time Im thinking) Email its Better.Ok, theyll be more inclined to answer me.wrong.A week later and Still No reply/answers to those questions from his Staff.

Ohhhh my goodness, I cannot say enough about Dr. Dickinson, HES THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Coming to him after having a botched reconstruction from a double mastectomy, I was beyond thankful for being referred to him, the man is magic. Dr. Dickinson is there for you from beginning to end, he actually listens, hes personable and has your best interest at hand. The moment my sister and I walked into his office, we felt the best welcoming energy, and with all that Ive gone through, that feeling was more than needed. His staff: Monica, Nikki and Jennifer, they have you feeling welcome and taken care of from start to finish, theyre a fantastic team! If I could give more stars, I would in a heart beat...HES THE BEST!!!

There is a reason Dr. Dickinson has been bestowed so many prestigious awards. Such as Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary of which only 1% of all doctors in the United States are given this honor by their patients. Also, Compassionate Doctor award plus others. He is a very knowledgeable, skilled surgeon and a very fine person. I am glad he is my surgeon. I was referred to Dr. Dickinson for reconstruction surgery. Dr. Dickinson and his staff are top notch. The staff is awesome! They are always answering my many questions with a lot of care and patience. Dr. Dickinson was very thorough with his explanations and making sure I understood the procedures. Dr. Dickinson has great bedside manner and has a very genuine caring disposition. I would highly recommend coming to this practice.

My perspective comes as a cancer survivor. Dr D is awesome. There is no doubt he cares about me and my needs. He’s patient, caring and an artist. I can’t imagine being in better hands. I feel blessed to have been referred to him.

Dr. Dickinson is a knowledgeable, kind and patient doctor. I always recommend him and everyone that meets him and has work done feels the same way. If youre in California this is the doctor for you.

It’s been almost 5 years since my hernia repair and abdominal reconstruction. Dr. Harris did my hernia repair and Dr. Dickinson did the abdominal reconstruction and they were a dream team!! Both are very caring and skilled surgeons who actually cared about me as an individual! I recommend Dr. Dickinson and Dr. Harris without hesitation! I’m very pleased with my results!

My name is Tom ford, and Im a disabled vet, and had suffered through 9 months of an open wound on the top of my foot, with exposed tendon.The VA kept putting me through the ringer, until finally I was approved for Dr Dickinson to fix the problem. In one miraculous surgery he got me my life back....( the surgery was a very tricky free flap). Wonderful caring and competent doctor.... I highly recommend him!!

Incredible surgeon and extremely dedicated to his patients. Dr. Dickinson performed a very complex and very large incisional hernia repair on my husband recently. The surgery took 4 hours with a co-surgeon at Hoag followed by 4 days in the hospital. Dr. D stopped by each morning to change the dressing himself and sometimes stopped by at night. He practically sleeps at the hospital and its obvious he truly cares about his work and his patients.

While no one wants to have to seek the services of a plastic surgeon for something like a double mastectomy, it is nice to be in such competent hands with Dr. Brian Dickinson and his wonderful nurse, Erica Frank.Dr. Dickinson provided me with access to physical therapy post-op to ensure I had proper range of motion before completion of my reconstruction. He spent ample time with me for each appointment, clearly explaining my progress and giving me his candid recommendations for my best long term results.I completed my full reconstruction w/ Dr. Dickinson in July 2014. Im updating this review as of June 2017. Im happy to report that Im still pleased w/ the cosmetic as well as functional results of my breast reconstruction w/ Dr. Dickinson. My procedure was complex given Dr. Dickinson had to remove implants and reconstruct a pocket to hold my new implants (post-double mastectomy).Ive run into many women through support groups who have had to go back several times for reconstruction fixes given their implant has slipped. I feel Dr. Dickinsons approach provided me with the best long-lasting results, which also has ensured I havent had to undergo unnecessary follow-up surgeries, etc.I would highly recommend him to anyone going through breast cancer or prophylactic mastectomies requiring breast reconstruction.

I had a bicycle accident with broken cheekbone and needed a surgery urgently and my window was closing down.I interviewed 4 doctors to weight my options. Dr Dickinson was booked up and had no opening to work me in his schedule but came on his day off, in his gym clothes for the consultation as he recognized the urgency of my situation. He promptly worked me In the next day at 8pm as his last appointment for surgery at Hoag Hospital. His approach was least invasive compared to other doctors and did amazing job on my face. There is no trace of the injury but one small scar in the hair area which is not at all visible.He is an amazing surgeon who also kind and humble and best of all, he is a wonderful human being.

From the very first pre op consultation, to the surgery, to the post op office visits, Dr. Dickinson was outstanding! He takes time to explain the procedures, the techniques he will use, and answer every question – which greatly helped reduce my anxiety.Dr. Dickinson is kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable, everything you could hope for in a surgeon. I trusted him so much that I actually flew from Washington to have him perform my procedure in Newport Beach.He is second to none and I will continue to recommend him to family and friends.

Dr Dickinson is probably the best surgeon I’ve ever dealt with. His bedside manner is simply second to none.This Dr came in late at night to perform emergency surgery on my breasts following a MRSA infection I received at The Mayo Clinic. Dr Dickinson literally saved my life because the infection was so bad.I am currently under his care for breast reconstruction using the DIEP flap method. I can’t tell you how many times he has checked on me and ensured me that everything is going as planned. I may require one or two more surgeries but I know I’m in good hands with him.It’s a shame he has a negative comment because he is truly a caring Dr. Please do not let that deter you. Dr D is a wonderful person and you’ll feel so safe and confident once you meet him.His staff is wonderful. Jennifer, Ayushi, Mary and Anna are wonderful representations of a kind, loving office!

I am an army Vet and I was referred to this clinic by the VA, I had an appointment to get a take out a bone fragment that has been in my ankle for years. I Finally got referred to dr. dickerson and when i showed up to the appointment i was refused service. I was asked to show my insurance card and I tried to explained to them that as a veteran going through benefits and they refused to see me. I called the VA while I was in the office to have a representative explain and while the people from the VA were trying to explain to the front desk dr. dickerson said I was too loud and asked me and his rep to step out of the office completely. His staff refused to get information from the VA and said I was being rude and told me if I didntt leave they would call security to escort me out. I was refused treatment after already being pay for and approved for by the VA because his staff did not understand the procedure. I would not recommend them to anyone or any other vet after they treated me like dirt. I even explained my situation to the front desk staff and she had no regards for vets or their situations. I hope no one comes here. That day I cried my entire ride home. I had never been treated like that.
