I’m new to NB and Balboa Island Dentistry was recommended to me. I was told there are more dentist per square foot in OC than anywhere else in the country-so don’t take chances. I’ll save you some time and money..I found the BEST! BI Dentistry...Cute cottage practice feel with very up to date modern equipment and decor. My Registered Hygienist was Karen. What can I say..tremendous!!!!very patient, friendly and the ultimate professional- tremendous skill and experience-not to mention right on time. Best cleaning (very thorough, not even a pinch of pain) with complete post care direction.I have found dental nirvana!! Best visit/cleaning I’ve received in 25 years hands down!I highly recommend this 5 star practice.

The Doctor and his staff are caring and personal, as well as professional. I havent felt any pain, the dental cleaning was amazing! She went above and beyond by showing me what I should be doing.

I have trusted Dr. Alfano for many years to take care of my dental health. Recently he replaced a tooth that was damaged years ago in an accident. He did a fantastic job matching the existing tooth while keeping my bite straight. His staff is helpful, courteous, and always on time.

I can’t say enough about Balboa Dentisry.Dr. Alfano is an amazing dentist. So knowledgeable and talented. The staff is kind and accommodating and they always make me feel like part of their family, no matter how long it’s been since I’ve seen them. Dr. Alfano gave me the smile that I’ve always wanted and he doesn’t settle for less than perfection. He’s gentle and kind and has a reassuring manner about him that always makes me feel relaxed and confident that I’m in the best of hands. Which is saying a lot because I had a traumatic dental experience in my childhood which left me feeling intimidated and full of anxiety whenever I had to visit a dentist. So needless to sayDr. Alfano has had his work cut out for him with me since my trips to the dentist were few and far between. I was beyond thankful when I discovered Balboa Dentistry as all of those feelings of intimidation and anxiety just melted away as soon as I walked into the office. Every experience I’ve had with Dr. Alfano and the staff at Balboa Dentistry has been phenomenal and I’ll never go anyplace else. I also don’t have to worry about the costs as I know upfront what I’m paying for and I have always felt that their pricing was more than fair. But the most important thing to me, above all else, is the work is top notch. Dr. Alfano is like no other dentist I’ve ever known. He is more than a dentist, he’s an artist and I was thrilled with my results.so much bette than I could have ever imagined. He’s just so good! Also I want to mention Kathy and Shelly... Although the dentist is never a place you think you could call a good time, this office makes the best of an appointment. They respect you and take you on time. Everyone in the office has been there for years and become like family; always courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. They know their stuff and always give you an accurate diagnosis. I always know I have been well taken care of!

Everyone is so friendly and Dr. Alfano is the best! Going to the dentist is my least favorite thing to do but Balboa Dentistry is like going to visit friends. More importantly than that though is I know the work will always be top notch and painless. I drive all the way from Dana Point in heavy beach traffic just to get my teeth cleaned there. The dental cleaning work of Katie done recently at Balboa Island Dentistry was thorough, efficient and professional. I almost fell asleep. This has not been my experience in all cases. This office is wonderful!!! Highly recommend! The ladies in the front office are so sweet and helpful (even when I was running late.) What a great impression for my first visit to this office. In the rooms, the chair faces the window and you can enjoy the view of the cute and quaint Balboa Main Street, which is rather calming if you are like me and a little nervous, since it had been awhile that I had to have dental work done. The office and rooms are so clean and decorated so nice, you really feel at home. My visit started out with a teeth cleaning and the hygienist was so gentle, thorough and informative. I had to have a tooth pulled and I was so nervous, but Connie the dental assistant, made me feel so comfortable and relaxed like I was right at home! Dr. Alfano was so funny and kept me entertained with his wits and singing to the music that was playing! He was gentle, professional and explained everything so well. What a great team Connie and Dr. Alfano are! They made everything go so smoothly. And I was in and out of the office in a timely manner. I am so glad I found this office! My family and I will go here from now on. What a pleasant experience.

Ive been going to Balboa Island Dentistry for almost 15 years now. I have moved several times and have tried different dentists, but I kept coming back here. Dr Alfano (and before him Dr Ballback) do OUTSTANDING work. Ive learned my lesson and wouldnt dream of going to any other office, even if it does mean me driving an hour each way these days.The staff are like family to me at this point and I mean that with all my heart. Everyone is kind, caring, and all around great people. Your teeth are not something you should take chances on, and as someone that has had major problems with his teeth since my teens, I can tell you it does not get any better than Balboa Island Dentistry.If you folks are reading this, thank you for everything throughout the years, and youve got a loyal patient for life in me.
