Rothman Orthopaedics has new offices at 60th St. and Madison, and it is aa very pleasant environment. All the staff were friendly and helpful. And Dr. Smith - well, hes the best: thorough, calm, informative. He performed my back surgery 2 years ago, and everything went so beautifully, in the hospital, and in rehab afterward. I just had a check-up with him, and everything is stable, steady, and looking good!

I absolutely love this office. Not only is it a clean, beautiful space, but also the entire staff is absolutely wonderful. Freddy at the front desk is always so helpful and always leaves me with a smile on my face because of his hilarious and warm personality. Ive had the pleasure of being under both Dr. Bishop and Dr. Seigermans care and received top notch service with both of them. I also cannot stress enough how great their occupational therapist, Amanda Iger, is. I loved her treatment approach and enjoyed our sessions even more because of how easy she is to talk to.

Dr Grigoriy Arutyunyan, MD is the best. He made sure you are taken care of and explained everything in detail really does care about his patients. Would highly recommend and Rothman Orthopaedic staff are the best as well. Ms Barbara(hope got the right name) receptionists, she’s very nice took time and really helped me with my appointments. Same with the X-ray staff. Very pleasant caring environment.

I love love Dr. Smith why because he explains in details the entire reason you might or might not need surgery. He gives you other options to try to help with pain. The worst experience. Dr siegerman is always late. Waited for 3 hours one visit it was horrible only to be told I cant be seen this happened to 3 others I know. I pray they stop the insurance fraud there

I am not the most upbeat when it comes to medical encounters and medical personnel. Dr. Bishop and Rothman Orthopedic are the most impressive, organized and caring medical practice in New York City. Dr. Bishops passion for sport and fitness makes it very easy for her to connect with patients from all walks of life and her determination and focus to get each patient better is impressive , and good for even someone like me to look up to. I became a new patient of Dr. A because of lower back injuries. I had choices from my Aetna portal and im very pleased I chose him. He has excellent communication skills, answers all my questions, is very patient with my concerns, and he makes me feel confident in his expertise. His staff that supports him is very responsive and follows up helping me find imaging services and therapy. He also manages his time very well because I wait very little time for my scheduled appointment, but I dont feel rushed when we meet. I highly recommend him, and Im optimistic that with his guidance I will get thr treatment needed to improve my spine, reduce the pain and ultimately receive effective surgery when needed.

Dr. Smith is a brilliant, empathetic spine surgeon (and surfer)! Surgery took four hours three weeks ago, I am still facing some not unexpected mobility challenges, but have experienced ZERO pain. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Rothman spent a significant amount of time reviewing the X-Rays and explaining how he would proceed with a very complex hip replacement. He was friendly, kid and open. The surgery went well and took much longer than anticipated due to its complexity. Recovery is going well. So far so good. Thank you for your diligence, patience and expertise!!

Dr. Gross man is a marvel. By FranJody’s hip replacement Surgery was at 7:30am last Thursday in lower Manhattan and we were home by 2. He’s ridiculously mobile and doing great. But on top of his chart would say, Patient Uncooperative.The doctor called the next day to inquire how he was doing and to speak to Jody. I told him he’s doing great but he was on the roof fixing a few shingles. Lol🤦🏻‍♀️This morning he walked out of the bathroom without his cane. Then around the kitchen. I could clobber him with it.I just pulled up the driveway and he’s washing his truck. Help me!

I waited an hour and a half to see a doctor. This was at the end of my day, I was really hungry was considering just going home. All that wait was to see the doctor for five minutes. He was nice and all, but just a waste of my time.

I had knee replacement surgery with Dr Eric Grossman and am SO happy I found him. Very Professional and Top -Notch surgeon ! I had Avascular Necrosis in my knee. All the other surgeons pushed me away but Dr Grossman did not. He has a Great bed side manner too. His PA,nurse and staff are also terrific. Like a breathe of Fresh Air. A way of the Past. Awesome experience. 31yo male had a microdiscectomy that went flawlessly. Dr Lee is a lifesaver.Within 3 months post op I was back to the gym, SCUBA diving and hiking. 6 months post op I am training for a trip to Alaska to climb serval mountains in Denali National Park.

Dr. Hrubes was great!! Very Informative , very thorough. some doctors give you the impression that they’re in a hurry - Dr.Hrubes is NOT one of them, she made sure that I was clear on everything, LOL she could even sense if I was unclear on things , and would ask before me.I initially didnt want a second opinion, I was feeling super anxious to get on with my procedure, but it was solely based on frustration. Dr. Hrubes’ exam and review confirmed that if I did do it , it would not be an emotional decision, but one backed in years of study and experience with similar cases.Im glad that I was recommended me to her. She was/is a great addition to my care team !!!

I am so grateful for the team at Rothman. After a typical run, I got hit by a car that ran over my foot and so I was desperate to get help in assessing the damage. She was the perfect balance of meaning business (because I am injured after all and am anxious to recover as quickly as possible) while at the same time fun (which helped take my mind off of the pain and realize that it’s not the end of the world). I would like to thank Dr. Erickson and his office staff for the wonderful care given to my son. We arrived 20 minutes late for his appt due to midtown traffic. The front desk receptionist was very pleasant, calm and mindful. She told us not to worry about being late. This made it a less stressful visit.The interactions with the staff from medical interview, x-ray tech to our doctor were pleasant and courteous. Dr. Erickson recognized us from our last visit. His attentive care and exam given to my son for his shoulder problem was explained to me so my son and I could understand it. Followup instructions were clear and was given info on physical therapy. I saw Dr. Romeo for a second opinion before getting shoulder surgery. His knowledge of my situation and experience with multiple approaches to solving my problem analyzed over years of practice was immediately apparent. I elected to have surgery with Dr. Romeo because I felt more confident with him, and many points throughout my surgery prep and recover have made me very happy with my decision.Rothman Staff (Romeos support staff): My experience with the Rothman staff is that they are all very professional and good at what they do. My original surgery site was not covered by my insurance. Romeos staff identified and addressed this problem proactively and had me set up for the same day in another, in network, hospital. I also had a unique issue with my insurance, that Carolyn in the billing office was able to keep me informed of and solve the problem. I felt very confident that this team knew how to maneuver around the complicated world of NY insurance, of which I was not an expert.Dr. Romeo: As mentioned above, in speaking with him, it is readily apparent that he knowledgeable and comfortable with performing any of the treatments. He communicated very clearly what my options were, what the upside and downside of each option was, and historical success rates associated with each one over many years of studying the methods. My particular case required some little details being addressed and the main procedure. Dr. Romeo is a world class surgeon who is able to handle whatever slight adjustments are needed on the fly. And he accepts insurance!Post Op: Leaving the hospital, I felt very well informed about what to expect, and how to deal with it. Two times in the coming weeks, I had questions. Both times that I called, I was called back later the same day with detailed answers and guidance.Having surgery is not fun, but if you need to have it done, Dr. Romeo is great!

The organization has become so large it cannot keep track of who is on their staff. Post double laminectomy, I experience a fever from the anesthesiology, my care giver gave the 800 number a call to verify if Tylenol was appropriate. He had to call the office 3 times before we got a response. The switchboard did not even know that my doctor was one of their doctors.The second time I called it was about my use of an opioid drug, I called the 800 number again and the operator did not know who my doctor was, she transfer a number that just disconnected me. So I choose to call my psychiatrist and we decided, I was in fact going through some with drawl , and I just needed to wait it out.The 2 star rating is really aimed at the organization not the care team. Dr. Michael Smith and his team are very caring and professional., given the complexity of my medical history they gave me extremely good care.The organization needs to get its act together and until they do, I would not recommend anyone to use your services,

Saw Dr Bishop at Rothman Ortho. Everything went smooth and the sign in/check in process is a breeze with their IPad system. From the check in to the X-ray to meeting the Doctor were all streamlined with no wait! Dr Bishop was very attentive, thorough and explained in detail what was going on. Highly recommended!

Exceptional bedside manner

I visited Dr Erickson last week due to tennis and golphers elbow in both arms as well as pain in the back of the left knee. He took the time to explain and or confirm what I knew about my arms and recommended I that I get an mri to confirm no additional tears. While he gave me a diagnosis on my knee I felt strongly about getting an mri for this as well. He also recommended physical therapy to start immediately. I followed his recommendation to the t. I returned today and he again greeted me with a smile and took the time to review the reports, mris and explained steps to follow. He gave me a cortisone shot in the knee. Smooth hand! I will continue physical therapy and return in a month.I know its a process Im happy to be on the journey with Dr Erickson. He appears caring and attentive and more importantly mindful of my needs. The team working with him from the young ladies that have scheduled my appts, the front desk team, the assts, xray techand PAs all very nice and helpful. Truly a comfortable place to walk into. Ill keep you posted on my progress.
