37 years ago, Dr. Melone was part of a phenomenal practice, Hand Surgery Associates. He consulted with my main hand specialist. Dr. Joel Grad. His exceptionally kind expertise was most welcome at a very frightening time. Over the years, I have heard excellent things about him.

I had the unfortunate luck to have to have both wrist surgery for a distal radial fracture and finger surgery for a crushed fingertip from two different accidents. Dr Melone could not have done a better job and treated me with care and respect throughout. I see people complaining about waiting a few hours, but when a doctor takes the time necessary to do everything correctly, sometimes there is a wait. I would have waited a week for the results I got. My wrist is perfect, even though it was in MANY tiny pieces on the x-ray, I only have a scar to show for it but the function is perfect, as if I never had surgery. My finger is even better, the nail bed was repaired (as well as the bone in the fingertip) and he did such a good job I honestly could not even tell you which finger it is now. There is literally no discernible difference. If you are looking for the best results from a surgeon, feel lucky to have Dr Melone taking care of you. Wait times are irrelevant, it is the healing that matters.

Dr. Malone and the other doctors are great. He did both my hands for carpal tunnel and trigger finger. The wait in the office is always long. The staff I feel is not very professional nor are they very friendly or nice to the patients.I don’t understand why when I need doctors lines complete for work there is a $25.00 fee. When I ask I was told this is a new policy. They don’t return calls back for questions related to work.I was told by his administrative assistant she don’t return call, so I ask then why don’t you fax the request back to my job and she told me she don’t do that neither.Again all the doctors are very nice and professional. The staff with the exception of two of the ladies were very nice and pleasant.I arrive for my appointment today at 10:00 am did not leave the office until after 12.35 pm.

Dr. Melone may be a very fine hand surgeon, I have no reason to think that he is not but, be forewarned. This man has no respect for his patients and their time. If you arrive on time, be prepared to wait never less than three hours for each visit. This is just the way that it is here. if you arrive on time and inquire how far behind he is, the receptionist will respond, the usual which means that not less than five people are waiting to be seen, before you. You will, if you come often enough, observe patients in the waiting room taking their meals there. . . .

Excellent surgeon, very down-to-earth and understanding. Dr Malone repaired my tendon with no complications. He was assuring and made me aware of the options and associated risks with surgery. I highly recommend his expertise for all of your hand-related injuries.

Many years ago, I believe it was in 1999, Dr. Melone reconstructed a wrist bone surgery from 6 months previous that had not healed properly. This was a serious break of my left wrist. He and his team were professional and encouraged me to have this second surgery despite my resistance. I was in a cast many months after, but I am happy to report that my left wrist is strong and sometimes stronger, I think, then my favored right hand. And I also remember Dr. Meline’s gentle and excellent bedside manner as I asked and he reassured me that I was alive after5 1/2 hours of surgery. Thank you, Dr Melone

Excellent experience! Dr. Malone was expertise in diagnosing and recommending corrective surgery for my long standing and incapacitating Carpal Tunnel syndrome and trigger finger of the 4th digit of my right hand. The surgery he performed was totally curative. The chronic numbness of my thumb, index and middle finger was immediately relieved and has never returned and the trigger finger totally corrected. It is now 6 months post surgery and I am completely free of any previous symptoms. The result could not be better, especially since I am a pianist!. Not only was the surgery a success, but you cannot see any visible scars!

This surgeon did not properly diagnose and treat my hand. After surgery he did not look at the symptoms and I develop contractures. I have changed hands surgeons. I would never recommend him to anyone. In addition he was rude and I’m professional making you wait 3 to 4 hours for a postop appointment. Who does that without an emergency Occuring. I would Never recommend him.

While Dr. Melone is well qualified, I had to wait almost 3 hours to meet with him. He meet with me for 3 mins and then ordered a second set of x-rays. After waiting another 30 mins, I finally decided enough was enough and walked out. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!
